This one was hard to rate. Because quirky and remarkable are very subjective. So Im giving it 5 stars simply because of its uniqueness and hysterical..er..historical origins. Having roots in Wichita Falls had nothing to do with this rating either. ;~} Anyway, read what their website has to say about it and decide for yourself if its worth 30 minutes, if you really take your time, out of your day.

While Visiting Wichita Falls we searched for places to visit and this showed up. After reading the history we were curious to see this little skyscraper. The main entrance is from 7th Street. At present the ground floor is an antique shop (Hello Again), enter there and it is free. There is a donation box at the top if you would like to contribute. The staffs are nice and friendly, they will show you the way upstairs to the top of the building. We spent about 15-20 minutes there. The story is as impressive as the building.

This place is great. Its a standing reminder to read the fine print. A guy named McMahon got a bunch of people to invest off of blue prints that were draw in inches instead of feet. Everyone thought that building was just an entrance or something, but finished that and took off with everyones money. Thing is he won the lawsuits because he built what the plans called for.

Interesting story, but probably not worth the visit for that alone. You can Google the story, which is basically about a fraudulent builder in the early 1900s who scammed folks into giving him money to build something far smaller than expected. Hence the worlds littlest skyscraper. The building is currently owned by an antique shop, which has its items on the first floor, and you can see them on the way up the old and narrow stairwell. On the top floor, there is a historical drawing of the building and some interesting facts you can look up online. And thats about it. If you want to see some antiques, worth a visit. Otherwise, this is an old, neglected, and sketchy part of town that your average visitor wouldnt want to visit, let alone park in.

I was in the are far before it opened in the early AM, but having read a bit about the building online and then getting to see it on the outside the experience was worth the visit. However, if you make your way through the rustic bric-a-brac, you can go up the small four story Skyscraper, stopping on each landing to learn more about the fascinating history that led to the building of the worlds littlest skyscraper. If youre in Wichita Falls to visit the college or for work, this short detour is a fun way to blow a few minutes and learn some silly Texas history.

The story is awesome! The lady that own the building told us the story about how and why the littlest skyscraper was built. That alone made it worth going. Then she let us walk up the stairs to the top floor. A warning the stairs are steep and narrow so be very careful walking up and down them. There are 48 stairs total so if you are careful you will be ok. Kids will love the skyscraper as well. I am very glad I went and would recommend it to everyone.
