Stopped in on our way back home and this was an amazing lunch!!! Highly recommend this restaurant. Food was delicious and so beautifully prepared. Isaac our server was so gracious and hospitable! Wonderful service and very comfortable atmosphere! We all will be back!!!

This was the worst sushi I ve ever had in my entire life. The California roll looks like it s made of chicken salad or fancy feast. Each roll was 90% sushi rice. Save your money and eat somewhere else.

This place was a referral and ended up being a complete disaster, and it cost us over $100+ in losses. We stopped by there on our way back home after having a medical procedure done in the area. We ordered our food and unfortunately needed to abruptly take it to go. Once on the road we discovered that the food was awful, and we didn t even eat it. I tried multiple times to contact the owners to discuss the issues and hopefully work it out and I never received a phone call in return. We then proceeded to have the credit card charges refunded through our financial institution and the owners never cooperated for a balanced resolution. I would HIGHLY suggest to find a more suitable location to eat vs. this place that cannot properly make fried rice much less sushi. Don t let the good reviews fool you! I grew up on Asian foods, and the positive reviews you see online must be from people that have no clue what Asian food is supposed to taste like.

Service beyond slow, menus were so torn, ragged and dirty. They definitely need to invest in new menus less the Scotch Tape and old food on them. My Yellowtail & Scallion Sushi Rolls I had, well Im still trying to find the Yellowtail. My last visit to give my money away.

I was embarrassed we brought friends. Kaley the waitress sat our last guest at not even part of the service bar. All the plates forks were set in front of me and never distributed. She took drink orders, did not ask if we wanted waters, so we assumed she would bring them. Took 35 min to get drinks even after our appetizer. When Ppetuzers were delivered I ask her helper what do we use for silverware and he said its right in front of you! I said Im sorry Im not serving myself, and he then started passing out everyone plates and utinsils. Since the 1st drinks took so long, we ordered a second when the 1st were delivered. By the time they were empty, we still had no 2nd drink. I got up to see what the problem was and they were sitting ready at the bar and Kaley and her helper were in a side room playing on thier phones. The food was ok,Juan was helpful making the night ok. Will never go back and wont recommend. Tried to call manager next day at 2pm, they are on break until 5. Nice break.

I used to love atami but they recently changed their fried rice recipe and it is one of the most bland things I have had. We had to sit in the dinning area due to graduation and I am not sure if it would have been different at the hibachi station. Maybe they would have actually fried the rice there. It honestly seemed like it lacked in butter, soy sauce, even egg??? Usually the service is great too. I think if you want actual good rice then you should request the chef Patrick for the quality it should be. Sad that my end of the year atami tradition ended here.

The hibachi is great, but the cleaning staff is impatient and would hover over you and ask if you re done with your soup and salad even though there was still a lot of food in the dishes (because the waitress just brought it out)! This happened to us a couple of times and I also noticed it happening to the people across from us. The staff member would just stand behind them and wait to ask about their dishes. We weren t even there for a full hour and after we packed up our leftovers, I wanted to hand our waitress a cash tip, but the staff member was standing and staring at us, waiting for us to leave, and then moved RIGHT NEXT to me. It wasn t like people were waiting and again, we were not even there for an hour. Ridiculous! I get cleaning up and getting dishes out of the way, but it comes off as rude and like there s not enough dishes?

The food was great. We ordered sushi, appetizers, drinks, and steak combos. We tipped our chef well and then also ordered dessert. The SECOND we took the last bite of our dessert, they cleared our plates. We sit for maybe 5 more minutes to finish our drinks and chatting and one of the bussers comes and tells us to get up we ve been taking the table for too long!!! Tell us it s time to go!!!! The total amount of time from when we sat to when we were RUDELY kicked out was 1.5 hours. Food was excellent and chef was great but we were treated so poorly.

We have been to Atami multiple times for special occasions. We went this past weekend for my daughters 13th birthday and had the worst experience ever. As we were waiting for our chef to come over, we are watching the tables around us have these wonderful shows from their chefs- trains with whistles, shrimp being tossed to customers, eggs thrown into hats, etc. We were super excited to watch this for us. When our chef came, he didnt speak except to read it order. Then he cooked the meal doing nothing special. He did do the train with the onion but no whistle. That was the extent to our show. Then to end the already bad evening, we are putting our leftovers in to go boxes and someone came over and told us we needed to leave because they needed the table for more guests! There were two empty hibachi held next to us! Worst experience ever! This was our go to place for special occasions; we will now be finding somewhere new. On a side note to the restaurant- thank you for running my daughters 13th birthday dinner.

My chef was Mr. Renz Tamondong, he was a very entertaining man! The food was great, except that the dessert was a little bland to my taste (I ordered the strawberries with whipped cream mochi); apart from that, for first-time goers, it is a little uncomfortable and awkward to share a table with strangers but if you are willing to have conversations and meeting new people, youll have a great time! IMPORTANT: Make sure to tip your chef directly as the suggested tip in the receipt is for the waiter. The chefs absolutely deserve to get their own share of gratuity!

THEY STEAL TIPS FROM THEIR WAITSTAFF. I had this confirmed to my face by one of the managers. That 18% gratuity that they automatically add to your bill goes to the restaurant. I ate there with my family, ordered four entrees, and they told me that their policy is to add the gratuity to parties of five or more. We had three adults and two children. Your food is good atami, but not good enough to get away with forcing your customers to pay extra on the LIE that its for your employees. Fun fact: gratuity is defined as: Noun, That which is given without claim or demand; a free gift; a donation. Liars. Ill never eat here again until management changes.

The waitress was amazing, the food was awesome. The chef acted like he didnt want to be there. It was my granddaughters first hibachi and I wanted her to be thrilled, but the chef barely interacted with us. I order the same thing just about every time, and almost always get a different result! I ve only done takeout, but still, it s annoying. I ask for sushi and get sashimi; I ask for udon and get ramen. I have a food allergy and they put the allergen in half the time! Dietary restrictions: From what I understand, if you order online, the person up front has to enter your order for the kitchen. If they don t note the allergy, the kitchen can t tell.

Me and a guest were seated around 8pm on a Saturday night. The restaurant wasn t busy, and only three tables in the non-hibachi side were occupied. When we were seated and drink orders taken, we were only given one menu. The waitress returned with our drinks and I asked for an additional menu. The waitress told us we could only have one menu because of how busy the restaurant was, and walked off. This seemed strange because there was a stack of menus by the host stand and right after she walked off a couple was seated next to us and given two menus. During this time I noticed that other customers were being taken to the hibachi side and given multiple menus. After watching this happen several times I went to the host stand and told them since I wasn t going to be given two menus, I was going leave. We were told that the table next to us didn t have two menus and that one was a drink menu, yet the two people there were holding them in their hands meanwhile another waitress grabbed five menus to seat a party that just walked in. It may not seem like much, but if I m ordering from your restaurant and ask for two menus (one for me and one for my dining partner) I should be given two menus. It s basic good customer service. Before leaving they charged us for a diet coke and iced tea, which we didn t touch, but at this point I was done with discussing anything with inconsiderate staff. Management: You lost my business tonight, and any future business that I might have given you, over something as simple as a requesting an additional menu for the other person at the table, while giving other tables menus for all their guests. Learn not to discriminate against your guests and adopt some basic customer service skills.

Nice sushi restaurant with good sushi rolls and raw sushi. Nice customer service as well. Prices are actually decent with the current economy. I suggest trying the scallops as they steam it in a nice soy sauce. Their tofu and edamane was good. Definitely will try again. ENJOY!

I would like to preface this review by saying that I never leave reviews, but after my experience here tonight, I thought it would be beneficial to others to share. After coming here several times and noticing that each time has gotten progressively worse, tonight was the last time we will be dining here. To begin, we walked in with a party of 4 and were told it would be about a 25 minute wait. We were totally fine with that, although we did notice 6 open tables. While waiting, we noticed the temperature in the dining room was extremely warm. Once we were seated, and dripping with sweat, we were then told that the AC was out. This would have been good to know by the host before we waited 25-30 minutes to be seated. The server, very obviously over worked, was not able to greet us for about 10 minutes after we were sat. The entire time we were here, we noticed all the other staff just standing around instead of helping this one server as she seemed to be the only server helping 8 tables. Once our food came out, we noticed we were still missing a plate. After 15 minutes of waiting for our server to come check on us, someone finally came and asked how everything was. We told them we were missing a plate and after going in the back, she came back out and told us that our plate was given to another table and offered us 10% off... yep.. 10%. On a $15 sushi roll. So stoked to receive that $1.50 off and 20 minutes later, we finally got that plate. By the end, we were very ready to leave and asked for the check. We were offered 10% on our entire bill, which was considerate. It did up being $10 off the entire bill. We looked at the check even closer to see that the staff had AUTOMATICALLY tipped themselves $21... We paid and left. There are many other sushi restaurants in town with much better service, food quality, and working AC. Do yourself a favor and go to one of those restaurants instead. Side note- Atami, you might want to proofread your chopstick holders next time.

Ok...a/c in front room was broken. It was same temp as outside! And the greeting from hosts was so odd: yeah, we dont have a/c. What?! You dont HAVE a/c or its broken? Its broken. We ordered for pickup. I walked in and immediately noticed the a/c not working and how run down and dirty it was. The hostess was rude and acted like it was very inconvenient to get off her cell phone. They couldn t find the order and they acted like it was my fault. Finally after getting the food I asked for an additional sauce. The hostess rolled her eyes and mumbled something to the other rude hostess. The staff acted as if buying food from them was inconceivable and appalled I would ask them to actually do their job. On a good note, after we sorted through the horribly packaged items and upside down soup, the food was amazingly average and not as bad as I had expected after the horrid service.

Spent $400 on the meal and the room temperature never dropped below 82. The main dining area was cool, but the side room was roasting. Add a hot grill to the mix and things only got worse. We ve been there several times before and enjoyed it, but this visit was a big disappointment. It wasn t the fault of the cooks or wait staff. Get there a bit before 6 PM, and you can seat a group of up to 10 people per Hibachi grill. I like how the food was staggered so we did not go hungry while we waited. Great entertainment and super delicious. I normally dont finish everything, but I had zero left overs since the food was delicious yet spaced out enough to avoid a food coma. Dietary restrictions: They do not use peanuts here.

It was alright, nothing really stood out. The gyoza was good but couldve been a little crunchier. I recommend the Lotus roll. The aggie roll wasnt anything to write home about. Staff was friendly, but they only had 1 person rolling sushi so it took about 30 minutes to get our 2 rolls. It wasnt a bad experience, just nothing WOWing.

When we walked it everything smelled great The chef was great, he took his time and really entrained the table. The server kept saying he was dealt the short stick with tables and apologizing. Dont know if that was a dig at us or him being spread thin, definitely an issue guests shouldnt know. He kept forgetting our items or brought them really late. For this to be the only hibachi place here (what I was told) Id expect the hibachi chairs to have back support. But everyone we encountered were nice, the busser had us cracking up because he was talking about all the mess the chef made trying to get the rice in our mouths. Try them out.

I hate to say it but Ive been here a few times the service is always very good the atmosphere is cool. I order a ribeye hibachi the last few times Ive went. And theres so much fat on the ribeye. And honestly the sushi is very mediocre the last two times and today it seemed a little old. Todays visit will probably be my last.

Nice sushi tucked away in the shopping center. A little hard to find at first. Service was awesome, despite the server being constantly sat. (Went during 3-5 pm so staff was cut.) Drinks were dangerously good! The Spartan is where its at. My only complaint would be that the crawfish in the A&M roll was exceptionally salty. Otherwise an overall good experience.

Hibachi Chef was so engaging! Food was legit, Stuffed jalepenos are a family fave paired nicely with the best fried calamari in town...more food than you can eat from grill so leftovers are always a given. Great family restaurant

So we didnt know there was a Teppan Grill, until we walked inside what looked like a closed restaurant. Obviously, had to choose the show with my meal. I ordered crab puffs and then the filet mignon with fried rice. I dont like fried rice but this was so good. The best friend rice ever. My steak was cooked perfect too. I thanked the chef, Domo Arigato. I most definitely recommend eating here at least once. If you have kids theyll love it.

Definitely disappointed in my NY strip steak meal. Took over 1hr:30mins to get the food, overcooked steak(asked for medium well) got absolutely NO salad or soup or sauce with my order as promised, regular rice and not fried rice I was upcharged $2 MORE for. Absolutely no flavor, no seasoning, 1 shrimp just overall a complete DISAPPOINTMENT.... oh and dont both calling phone lies out. What a joke for $30

I was the only one waiting to be seating the the two hostess in front ignored me for more than 15 mins. The place was empty and the workers were just joking with each other. I was a regular and after this I don t think I ll be back anytime soon.

I typed out a whole review and accidentally deleted it. So I ll keep it simple- TERRIBLE customer service. Probably the worst customer service experience I ve ever had. I LOVE their fried rice but cannot justify ordering from here any longer due to the rude staff and zero effort to correct wrongs done. You can have great food but have it ruined with the wrong staff and vibe from them.

I just order only one items but I need to wait 35 mins at the store although I made order online before I come. The staff s attitude is very unkind and unfriendly. There is no apologize for the order late. They just have good service with dine-in and don t care go-to order I have three time bad experiences here and I promise never visit again.

I cant say well be back. From being asked to wait in the lobby when there were open tables, we couldve been seated at and ordered drinks and maybe some sushi while we waited for others to join the table, to the waiter who after we had our food came to the table and said, Ill give yall a few minutes to eat, and literally was back a few mn later with the checks, it was not an environment conducive to enjoying ones meal. In addition, the hibachi chef could have spent a minute longer trimming the fat off the hibachi steak. Not that hard and wouldve made a big difference in the enjoyment of the meal. The portions of rice and especially veggies were on the sparse side also. Last but not least, the chairs were dirty (one had food on it and the other seat cushion was split wide open with who knows what hiding in the foam seat cushion. Definitely not planning a return visit.

Worst hibachi experience ever! We waited at our table over 15 minutes before our drink orders were taken, then waited another half hour before Jose, our hibachi cook came wearing a mask, which we couldn t understand anything he was saying with it on while we we were waiting for him to come attend our table we could see him without a mask in the kitchen laughing with his coworkers. He then only engaged with our group for the first 3 minutes then didn t entertain or even talk to the entire table for the duration of cooking the rest of the meal. He literally put his head down and just focused on cooking the orders for the table. Our rice was still in clumps of white without having been fried. We didn t get the dipping sauces until after I asked the night manager while the steak was cooked when the night manager finally gave us them, touching his bare hand to the leaking bottle of sauces and serving them to us. The night manager then brought our tickets giving Jose a fist bump down low as he walked by and said How was Jose this evening? Everything great? We advised him that this was the absolute worst hibachi experience we had ever experienced and he just mumbled and said oh well, we ve been short handed and took our money. No apology, no compensation, no taking responsibility. Just a mumbled excuse. We will NEVER EVER go back again! Worst service ever!!!!

I loved the Hibashi grill. The outing bexame as much a show as it was a meal, and the resulting food was great. They have options for all tastes: vegetarian, seafood, meats. My well-done steak was great, though maybe a little salty, but when paired up with the veggies it couldnt have been better. Surprised I havent been to this place before, and Ill have to go back for sure.

Food is always good, especially the stuffed jalapenos. Performers/ cooks are always a little different as far as effort goes. Over all 5 stars. Greatful we have an entertaining hibachi grill place in town.
