I had a great experience here, loved the energy and the live music. I really want to come back but one of the bartenders with glasses was not happy to be there and was extremely rude, I could even say racist to me. He had no issue making other people drinks but when it came to me he rudely said that I didnt need anymore drinks and said what the hell do you think this is, its a dive bar Im not making that. Fix your attitude when helping customers, we are the reason you have a job.

Food was good from the Weird Food food truck. Cool place with a nice vibe. A little loud with the band playing but we came for the music so we were not disappointed. Sound was well balanced and the band was great. I don t know how I missed this place over the years. Check it out!

I didnt feel welcome by the bartender. She was an older white biker looking woman, and Im a Latino dude in my 20s, I stopped by after having dinner nearby. She was smiling and saying what do you need Sweetie? What can I get you Sweetheart? to all the older white men before me, then when I came up she stopped smiling and was short and rude. I didnt expect the sudden change in attitude. I politely ordered a double drink and she was like, we dont do doubles with an eye roll. I asked someone sitting at the bar if they noticed she treated me differently and they said they noticed too. But whatever, weird, no tip. The music and band was AMAZING. The other patrons were awesome and friendly! The inside is SO cool, the back is fun too with cool couches and screen where you can see the band. Ill go back just for the awesome crowd. I dont wanna order a drink from that lady again tho, lmao

The Jade Room is its saving grace. Calm, clean and relaxed room. The band was jammin. The food truck guy tries to get over on people, expecting them to be too drunk to notice he didn t fulfill the order correctly. I asked for a wrap and fries, he hands me a rice bowl. I asked him to correct my order and he says, ok, $5 extra. He had already up charged me for lamb+beef gyro, which was not in the bowl. I want my tip back.

I can t believe this place.. they used to barely ever have a cover and now they charge like 20$ almost every night for mediocre music. I went there with my mom, they had the nerve to try to charge $15 at the door and say they were going to have to kick us out to clear the space for another band then charge another $20 ON TOP of the $15 we would play for only 30 minutes.. I mean who does that !?!? Like you expect people to want to spend money at the bar for paying that much for a cover?? I expect this place to go out of business soon.. ridiculous

Went here because it was so well rated. We saw Theo Lawrence play, and he/they were good! It was $10 at the door, no minimum on drinks (which was pretty reasonable I thought). It was a cool little room - very vibey, and there s really nowhere you can t be close to the small and low stage. If you re there to see the band, that makes a huge difference. Service at the bar was great - dude looks a lot like James Hetfield. All in all worth a stop in - especially if you re into the act that is playing that night. (If you re not - it s just up the street from a bunch of other things - like the Continental Club, which was also a very cool venue!)

Insulted. Accused of trying to con the bar out of a $6 drink despite paying for several tabs and several rounds of drinks the three of us DID consume. Bar tender was hostile and aggressive, insulting, and just plain mistaken. Arieus. Was raising his voice and making a scene in front of VIP acquaintances of ours despite his being wrong. Couldve had a nice time, but ended in quite a sour note. The attitude of this bar tender is a joke. Grow up. Learn to admit when youre mistaken and swallow the ego... On another note, the first bar tender we had with white hair was super cool, the door guy was cool, the sound tech was cool, and they had an impressive, antique vinyl jukebox pulling music for the venue P.s. - you can see he responded below. Funny thing is, our party drinks mezcal and Jameson. Not titos. The rest of the drinks we ordered we accounted for in the itemized reciepts we got. Nice try covering your mistake. Still playing the same petty games. Sad act.

Edit 2023: Place still rules! Try to find a way here when I have weeknights off and theres always a great band to check out. Grooveline Horns Tuesdays are a hoot, Flyjack lately on Mondays, whats not to love?! Halal yall on site makes a great Gyro to boot! Had a great time during their SXSW parties this year too, better sightlines than Lucys had anyway. Original review: Quickly became my favorite club in Austin. For any Bay Area folks, its a very Boom Boom Room vibe, only better IMO which is saying A LOT. The monday night funk jams are an absolute blast. Trube, Farrell, and Snizz was also an incredible set. Cheap drinks, good times, nice patio, and in my neighborhood! Gonna have to come check back often!

The best bar in Austin, great concerts every single time! On this exclusive place you get to see the best musicians in the country, first time I was there I got surprised to see Jimmie Vaughan on the stage, later I learned that he plays there all the time, Sue Foley, Mike Flanigin and Gary Clark Jr are easy to see there as well. Nice employees, great selection of beers and hard liquor, everything is affordable, I never left there with the suspicious of being over charge. If you are looking to have a fenomenal time C-Boys is your place.

C-Boys is everything I love about Austin. They have a lively spot downstairs with great music, a small dance floor, and good drinks. If things get too wild inside or you need some fresh air after cutting a rug, you can step out the back door to hang out on the porch. Video and music from inside is played outside, so you dont miss a thing. Or if youre looking for a more low-key evening, head upstairs to the Jade Room. Which is where we landed last weekend. Having been to C-Boys in the past, I had completely bypassed the Jade Room during previous visits. Not this time! Upstairs offers a more laid-back environment with live jazz or blues, cozy booths, dark red lighting, and vibe that is unmatched. During our visit, we caught the tail end of Mel & Jamess performance. They are stellar artists, and our only regret was not arriving sooner to catch more of their performance. After the show we hung around to chat with Mel & James who were more than happy to swap stories with us. Cant wait to come back to Austin, C-Boys, and hopefully catch a show with Mel & James again.

Some performances require a cover at the door (cash only), but they have an atm machine outside. It s a pretty small venue, but it fits the vibe and there s plenty of spots to sit. Unstable door guy. Started yelling, cussing, and pushing us out of nowhere. Freaked out my gal. Look at other bad reviews, and its always the psychotic door guy. Unsafe place.

Coolest bar on soco, only two stars because of the dbag door guy on Thursdays who tries to fight customers and band members.

One of my favorite clubs in Austin. The performers are first rate and the bartenders and staff are friendly and welcoming. I recommend this place to friends and families and often bring out-of-town guests here for a real Austin experience.

Went to see Dale Watson today on Sunday Mothers Day in the afternoon. HOWEVER WHEN WE CAME OUT FROM PARKING IN THEIR PARKING LOT, OUR BLACK TRUCK HAD BEEN KEYED!! TAKE A CAB OR DONT GO!! PREFERABLY DONT GO. NO CAMERAS AND THE STAFF IS WORTHLESS WHEN THERE IS AN ISSUE!! STAY AWAY!! Cost YOU TOO MUCH IN THE END!!!

Cool little spot for good local music and inexpensive drinks. Cover at the door depends on the band playing that night. Service at bar is quick and patio out back is awesome!

The bouncer was incredibly rude, but once we got in, everyone else was really nice. As two people who hadnt been drinking and werent being belligerent, this guy REALLY had a problem.

Went to see Jane Ellen Bryants single release. This is an awesome band and she is an incredible vocalist, too bad the sound sucked so bad. A venue that touts itself as one of the top live music venues needs to get a better sound system or a sound person that knows how to run sound. Very disappointed as were many other patrons as well as the band members and their producer Frenchie Smith.
