Great authentic German food and beers. I especially like their brats. Great apple strudel. Good schnitzel. Servers dress in German clothes. Nice staff. Generous portions. Food made from scratch.

I found this place without any expectations, but it was such a wonderful place. The combination of authentic German food and the scenery of the Octo Festival was fantastic. The accordion player sitting in one corner gave a fantastic performance that exceeded my expectations, and I heard it live right in front of me. You can taste the original Schwein Haksen and pork cutlet here. The guests were also nice and mingled together, creating a fun atmosphere. I want to visit again next time

Sorriest service in Collin County. Went there a few years back after having been a customer at their old location since opening. Made reservation for four plus a child. Waited thirty minutes past our reservation time, were seated and handed menus. Then NOTHING. For thirty minutes. No drink order, and attempts to signal wait staff at adjacent tables were ignored. I went to the host desk and told them we d been waiting, explained for how long, host person acted as if they simply didn t care. Went back and waited quite a while longer and left. Sent email to management on the website and never heard a thing. Rude staff and rude management. And that saddens me because it had been one of my favorite places

Overpriced salty food. I paid $40 for my plate alone and ended up at in and out around the area because I was still hungry. Horrible service, took nearly two hours to get food, over an hour to get seated. Staff is rude and acts like this place is all that and a bag of chips. Not worth your money. I have no idea how this place has good reviews.

The exterior may be unremarkable but once you step inside you feel transported to Bavaria with the decor, music, and staff attire, youll quickly forget that youre in Dallas. Our server was swamped so the service was a little slow but the food was very good, they have a wide bier selection and on some nights they have live musicians with accordion, not too loud but nice background music while you enjoy an authentic German bier and a crispy schnitzel or mouth watering giant pretzel with an assortment of mustards. Give Bavarian Grill a try, you wont be disappointed.

Weve been here multiple times. Service is inconsistent: sometimes ok, sometimes not. Our waitress forgot to bring us the appetizers, ooopps! Then the Schweinshaxe (es tut mir leid, aber ich kann deutsch sprechen. Niemand hier kann mit mir deutsch sprechen. Wie schade.) ..ok... the pigs knuckle was dry and overcooked, plus had ZERO SALT! Huh?? Ive had this 20+ times at restaurants all around the globe; it always has salt! Did they forget?? So... this place is NOT cheap. If you dont want to spend a lot of $$$, go somewhere else! At these prices, I rightfully expect good (not perfect) service and food. Was it? Unfortunately no. Im disappointed. Ill be back but... Im going to give them a year to get it right. Get your folks trained, cooks taught, and Ill be back. Maybe.

Service was abominably slow even though the restaurant was not full. When my wife tried to order a salad, our server said it was not very good and suggested a different one. I have never heard a server say something on the menu was not very good without being prompted. I asked her to come back in a couple of minutes while my wife thought it over. When she came back, my wife ordered her original choice. Our server told us that, actually, they had run out of the not very good salad. Hmm! Was there some untruth? So we ordered. I had ALMOST finished my first beer and our server asked if I would like another. I ordered one and she started to remove my unfinished first beer. I stopped her and got a comment to the effect that what I had rescued was $0.10 worth of beer. Then we waited. After about 10 minutes my second beer came. I drank slowly. And we waited! Twenty minutes after the second beer came, I got out servers attention and told her we needed our food. She managed to get it out in another 5 minutes or so. While very tasty, it was tepid, at best, with the exception of my wifes potato salad, which was very hot. I would have sent our food back but we did not have all night. So we ate quickly, got and paid the bill, and left. I thought the prices were high. The service was horrendous. The food was mostly cold, although tasty. Looking below, we got a basket of pretzels by not bread basket. My wifes dish, the trout, is not listed on the review form! I am exceptionally disappointed. I did not expect the equivalent of a Hofbrau House in Munich, but I have gotten better service almost everywhere I have dined. It will be a cold day in hell before I go beck there.

Showed up at 9:11pm (party of 2). Hostess looked at us in disgust. Said if we knew what time it was, and they would be closing soon. We said it was 9:11pm, and we knew what we wanted to order, so it should be fine. She rolled her eyes and said, You know our food can take over an hour to make? She proceeded to walk along and chat with two other servers before eventually taking us to our table. Sat down at 9:20pm. Ordered appetizers, beer, and main course. Everything arrived on time, and we were done at 10:15pm. There were still other guests hanging around and eating after we left. Great good, but the hostess ruined it for us.

A little taste of the fatherland. Nice to find a place where the food is close to what you might expect in Germany. Naturally, the flair of the taste offerings has changes for the local clients. Upon my recent visit, we enjoyed white asparagus. If you enjoy green asparagus, then the white may appear to be bland. However, for those who find the green asparagus to be too much, then white asparagus might be to your liking. The other food offerings are equally delicious. So, to get a taste of flavor associated with Germany, give this restaurant a try.

We love this place, or we use to. We went to experience the food and beverages that you cant find anywhere else - good German dark Bier. I was very disappointed that I looked on their web site, selected 6 beers to try and they only had 1 of the 6 that were listed, very poor management of advertised stock. No appologies, no discout on other selections, no comp for anythig, just a shrug and an oh well, too bad so sad attitude - slow import month I would have expected better since a noticable lack of customers from the old days of having to have reservations. A definite decline from past years. It will be a while before going back, if ever - too many other options in the metroplex.

Its Saturday night at 7pm. We walked in asking to sit at the bar, get some drinks and place a food order to go. They refused to let us order food to go because they were too busy and our order would get lost in the mix. I am 61 and have never had a restaurant refuse to go orders. We live over 2 hours away and this was a special treat while we were in town for the weekend, but sadly we could not dine in. Weve eaten there for over 20 years but will never step foot in there again. I am SO disappointed. It was nice while it lasted. I guess they outgrew the great service from the old location and failed to hire staff to keep up with customer demand.

I recently visited at their new location, having fond memories of their food from years ago. Unfortunately, my latest experience was a letdown. The schnitzel, priced at $27, was thin, dry, and over-fried not worth the cost. The creamy spinach and soup were overwhelmingly salty, like ocean water had been added. While the service was adequate, the food failed to impress. Compared to my previous visits, the quality has significantly declined. I hope they revisit their recipes and cooking techniques to regain their former standards.

Brie appetizer was also bland and tasted like the cooking oil it was fried in more than anything. Not sure if i caught them on an off day but very disappointed in the quality of food for the price of $120 for the two of us. Hello, I have something to say here. Ive been secretly working as a chef in this restaurant for 5 years without a single employee noticing. One day I walked in wearing a formal polo and kahki outfit, grabbed a spatula and started flipping patties. The other workers here have become like family and I want to stay. Good luck finding out which employee I am. I covered all my tracks. Their Schnitzel Weiner style is my favorite on the menu. Have you noticed lately that your beer cheese tastes a little funny? Its my secret sauce. Good luck hunting to me! Wheelchair accessibility: Due to my extreme disability (I cant walk), I was unable to enter the building, but it was no surprise that my amazing co-worker family came to the rescue, lifting me up by the wheels and even carrying me while I flipped patties (with my spatula). .

We came out for a team outing and birthday celebration. Although they did not allow outside cookies for the birthday celebration but i should have called ahead to check. Friendly staff. Some ordered the escargot while others ordered the schnitzel. I wish I had tried some of their desserts. I was also told they have a secret menu online(not so secret anymore). As a German, I was really excited to come here for the first time. I haven t been back home in over 8 years and was pretty happy when we found this place. It wasn t too bad, but I wouldn t eat there again. Food was mediocre at best little to no seasoning, vegetables were far from fresh and the half chicken was way overdone and way too expensive. The Quality of the food wasn t worth the money we spent. The inside could use a lot of TLC, carpets are dirty, chairs and tables wobbly and you could tell it s old and hasn t been updated in a while. The only thing I really liked was the draft beer selection, although the bartender should get some training on how to properly pour a German beer. I might be a little picky on some things, but even my wife who spent some time in Germany wasn t really impressed with the whole experience. I don t think we will eat there again.

We came here again for Dads 86th birthday. We usually spend his birthday here and have been for over 20 years, this was my first time in the new location, we used to go to the one near Parker all the time. They pay a lot of attention to creating an atmosphere that feels immersed in Bavarian culture, Arts and of course beer. They have live music from a real accordion player, Alan, who has been playing as long as Ive been going there even in the old location. It is a very nice experience overall for those looking for something different or something bavarian. I had the jager schnitzel, breaded veal cutlets thats been fried, with a side of creamed spinach and spatzle. My dad had the Rouladen (sp?) and my mom had the same as I did except with their traditional salad. The plates come with a lot of food, so be prepared to take home a doggy box. We tried their bread pudding for dessert and of course was very good with a delightful vanilla cream sauce and dark cherries. My dad left happy so we couldnt have asked for more.

Date night with the wife. Preface: ** My grandmother was born and raised in Germany and I lived in Northern Bavaria for three years. During which my memories and taste buds for authentic German food became intertwined.** We went here per the recommendation of many neighbors and friends from church. Service was excellent, the ambiance was fun and engaging (some much German heritage, culture, pictures, and paintings.) Dinner for me was fair. I had the rouladen and spatezel, the wife had salmon with white asparagus and red cabbage (she quite enjoyed it). Rouladen was overly salty for my liking (remember it is hard to not compare to nostalgia and those strong memories from childhood). The worst part was the cheese cake dessert. Our server recommended that we shouldnt get it... boy was she right!! It tasted like bad bread pudding, definitely not like cheese cake. I would say its worth trying again, maybe try a sausage or something fried.

I lived in Germany for three years and the Bavarian Grill is the closest to German culture as I can get in this area of Texas. As soon as I walked into this restaurant and smelled the food and saw the decor a flood of wonderful Bavarian memories came right back to me. This is a popular restaurant to eat at, so check your days and times if you dont like large crowds. I enjoy coming here when it is crowded and livelier with the small band playing German songs. The food is excellent and tastes authentic to what Ive eaten in Germany. Try the many Schnitzels on the menu they are my favorite! There many drinks to choose from colas, wines, and beers. The service is very friendly and our server was excellent even when the restaurant was packed out. This restaurant is fun for date night, family gathering or celebrations! There is even a small deli in the front where you can purchase deli items during its hours of operation. Parking: There are plenty of parking spaces available, but during busy hours of operation the parking spaces become more difficult to find closer to the restaurant.

This might be the most authentic German restaurant I ve been to in the United States - I mean they have a full page Spargel menu in April/May, how much more authentic can you get?! The location is a little unassuming looking but once inside, it is decorated like Oma s Haus which are all the markings of a good German restaurant. The dishes here are all fantastic. I ve had several of the schnitzels and the Regensburger one with the pretzel crusting has been my favorite. Tremendous flavor. Also the sides are all fantastic from the red cabbage, pickled salad and spätzle. Service is on the slower side which I assume is to the more prepared nature of the meals, but the wait will be worth it.

I had the pleasure of dining at Bavarian Grill in Plano and it was a taste of Germany right here in Texas! The pretzels were soft and doughy, the sausages were juicy and authentic, and the ambiance transported me to the heart of Bavaria. Its definitely a must-visit for anyone craving delicious German cuisine!

Other than the onion soup, which was phenomenal, I thought the food fell way short of expectations. For me, sauerkraut should not be sweetened, especially with pineapple juice. The atmosphere is very cool, the service is mediocre, and the food was fine but significantly below expectations. As someone who loves sauerkraut and hearty German food, this experience made me sad. That said, definitely get the onion soup!

I have eaten many times at the Bavarian Grill. I particularly enjoy their Shweinshaxe. I ordered the Schweinshaxe to be brought by a food delivery company. When I opened the container, the meat was burnt at the top. But when I turned it over, the bottom was totally burned black. I can t believe that the Bavarian Grill thought it was acceptable to serve totally burned food. I tried eating it but ultimately had to throw it away.

Everything was great about this experience. Friendly staff, great atmosphere, delicious food. My food came out a little cold and I m not really picky so I asked the server if they can toss it in the microwave for a minute or two and not even 2 minutes later a manager came out to my table with an entirely remade entree! Really happy with the service and staff here!

Food really doesnt taste good. Ate Jägerschnitzel, Maultaschen and a salad with turkey there. Price/performance Totally bad. The portions were quite small for the price. $30 for a Jägerschnitzel that tastes better at almost every snack bar in Germany. The spaetzle was also more like knöpfle. Maultaschen didnt taste like anything. Salad was bland. Beer tasted watered down. If you want to get an impression of German cuisine, this is the wrong place. Service was top. Could also speak German.

PROs: Great location. Decor is authentic and interesting. Family dining ambience. Hostess was friendly. Our waitress, Sabrina, helped us and eased our concerns about the service. Sabrina was friendly and attentive to our orders. CONs: We felt hostess seated us tucked away where we were overlooked for service. We had to search for someone to take our order. Husband believes it took too long to have sausages served to us. And the dessert was bland. Our son wanted German food for his birthday. Approx: $117 (with tip); we ordered: Rahm Schnitzel, Ba,berger Beirzipfel, Maintaler auf Zwiebelsemm, Apfelstrudel, & Kirschtorte.

We went in really wanting to enjoy it, but ultimately were a bit disappointed. The atmosphere and service were great. Love the live music! My issue was with the food and prices. The menu itself is really confusing to read and many items didnt have prices listed, so its a little difficult to keep track of how much youre spending and what youre spending your money on. And the food quality and flavor just seemed mismatched with the really high prices. For example, I had the curry knatwurst, for two sausages the size of my index finger (~4 inches), a drizzle of curry sauce, and a handful of fries it was over $18. The dessert menu doesnt have listed prices either. Overall it was just ok, nothing more or less

$27 for schnitzel with a side of mashed POTATOES FROM A BOX? Our side salad never arrived. Server was less than helpful and when we ordered, she only took my husband s order and walked away. 1 entree and walked away. What is that? Potato pancakes were bland and dry (looked like 1 had been re-fried: was much darker than the others). Beer was cool, not cold. Overall - a bust. We literally walked out wondering how a place this big stays in business serving food like this. Won t be returning.

I have loved this place for a long time, old location and new. The new location is just down the street from the old one and almost 4 times the size. The atmosphere is so awesome. I notice something new every time I visit. You HAVE to get a pretzel! It will blow you away. I typically get the large sausage plate and either share it or take it home for leftovers. The German potatoes and sauerkraut are also very tasty. Sometimes, on weekends, there is a polka band or an accordion player. If you are a beer drinker, I dont believe there is a single domestic beer on the menu. They are all tap, bottle, or can from Germany. The list is extensive. I saw a glass so tall the other day, I almost screamed out, Das Boot!?! The female wait staff are dressed up in Dirndal dresses. It adds to the atmosphere. You will not be disappointed. If you have a large group, it is best to call ahead and make a reservation, or you may have a really long wait.

Went for dinner with a party of 6. Atmosphere was okay, service was good, food was average. The one thing that blew everyone away was the prices. I don t mind spending good money on good food but $38 for a chicken meal (Rham schnitzel) is too much. By the time we added two drinks, and an appetizer with tip we were at $150 for two of us.

I really wanted to like this place :( I m German, born and raised and visit every summer so I know what authentic German food tastes like but this was not it. If you re American and don t know what real German food tastes like please don t take this restaurant as an example. The potato pancakes were awful and the furthest away from real ones. I do have to say the spätzle were pretty good and probably the only good thing on the menu. I was most disappointed about the currywurst. That s one of my favorite foods to eat in Germany and this was awful. The French fries tasted old and the currywurst itself tasted pretty bad too for example I ll post a picture of their currywurst vs real German ones! I definitely think the owner should make a few changes and learn the real German recipes or maybe hire some German cooks! Also on top of that the food made me super nauseous
