This is a nice, big park where my pup can be off leash and enjoy playing with her furry friends. She loves the water feature and I love the fact that there are tons of shade trees. I definitely recommend Bonnie Wenk Dog Park for canines who like to socialize.

The city of McKinney has a gem of a park! Walking trail, 2 dog parks, sports grounds, workout gym, and 2 kid friendly playground areas with structures and activities. Dog-friendliness: Two fences in good parks for large and small dogs + water attraction for dogs! Can not beat it!

We go to the dog park 2 areas 1 small 1 big pup, plus splash pad. Lots of picnic tables, shady section. The dogs and owners are all fantastic. Just wish they would mulch more often as it does get muddy sometimes ... most times its supererb. Connected to tons of trails, clean bathrooms pond and kids area. Mckinney does such a wonderful job!

I dont have a dog of my own to bring but, while playing Pokemon Go and taking a break, I watched all the cute dogs run around and play. Some were chasing balls, disc or each other. Others were playing around in the fountains in the front of the dog park. It was all very enjoyable.

Great dog park! King, our german shepherd/golden retriever mix, and I, go here regularly. Large and plenty of room for the dogs, large and small (separate areas), to run, play, and make new friends. Some playground equipment peppered around. Benches and tables for the humans, and shaded areas to sit and watch and make new friends too. Each area has a water station next to the entrance. And theres a splash pad area for the pups to cool off and clean off. Bonus: This is part of/next to Bonnie Wenk park, a large park with many amenities, including great walk/hike trails.

Water feature is fun. Dedicated small dog and large dog parks. Well maintained and clean (people pick up after their dogs). Only good company while I was there. We have stopped here many times and always a nice exercise area for our dog. The big dog area is large and dogs have enough space to run. There is also a small dog area and a water park for dogs that enjoy playing in water. If you do not want to let your dog loose, there are several walking trails around the rest of the park. Something for everyone and easy to get to.

Great for taking the dogs, the kids or just walking and getting your steps in. Many miles of walking paths in addition to two separate, large playgrounds for kids. Also, separate play areas for large and small dogs. Lots of shaded paths for summer time walking. Shaded picnic areas, multiple restrooms and lots of nature to experience. Playground: Three separate play areas within the park. One is soft rubber surface with lots of swings and items for kids to climb, ride and play. Nearby play area with wood chips is around the corner in full sunlight. A third, also large, play area is 95% shaded by tree cover. Toilets: There are multiple sets of restrooms in the park. These are very basic and no frills but it gets the job done when in need. Dog-friendliness: Lots of dogs on the walking trails as well as in the dog park area. There are three sections: medium/large dog, a water feature area where all sizes can play and then a dedicated small-dog space. Picnic area: There are multiple tables and seating areas for people to sit and work, eat or just hang out. Both in the form of benches and 8-seat picnic tables. People often throw down a blanket near the water and picnic on the ground as well.

This was on my way home, and I felt the need to stop and walk around the pond a few times. It was peaceful and the scenery was amazing. Its a very clean park and has plenty of things to do and see for all ages, including dogs. Would be 5 stars 100%. But there s always someone to ruin a perfect spot. Every time I go to this park there is a boxer that seems to frequent there. The owner said he s about 120 pounds of pure muscle and she can t make him do things because she can t control him. He hooks up with dogs all the time has tried before with mine but last week he finally succeeded. At this point you need to control this Karen and her dog. She can t control him therefore why are you at a dog park.

This is a great park with something for everyone. Spare no expense. Even the dog park gets a private little splash pad and mini swimming pool. There is a nice mix of nature walks, and high end, different platground equipment. My kids really enjoyed the rock and stump (all man made and permanent) as well as the more elaborate zip lines and climbing rope sculpturs. The indoor real flushing facilities are a nice plus. If i had planned ahead, the scooters would have been really fun to tour the park on. There was more there than we could see in a morning. Highly recommend this park!

the cutest dog park in dallas, at least for the small dogs run. the people are so very friendly and the run is well packed with friendly and fun dogs all the while maintaining a pleasant crowd/pack(?). one special thing that stood out to me was the soil used for the ground. its of soft compost material with wood particles making the entire place soft and safe for dogs to run on. i visited during the winter and there were no single batch of grass within the run.

Best dog park in Mckinney (which isnt saying much) The dog park area is kept pretty clean. The best part is the trails, although you never really feel like you are in nature. Its concrete bike paths around a loud, busy road with lots of weekly mowed grass feilds around. I wish this area and Texas in general used actual pristine land for parks instead of flood plane not suitable for development. Mckinney almost tried with this one. Maybe if there were 20 parks like this in Mckinney, it wouldnt seem like such a suburban hellscape... just kidding Mckinney will always be that.

Doggie heaven ! We came here with my moms husky on labour day. It was an incredible park. They have good fencing with double gate airlocks for both the small dog entrance and the large dog entrance. I thought it was really cool that they had bike racks for people too. The water park section has separate gates for the small and large dogs so they can end up both together in that section. No airlocks on the water park so you have to be careful not to let your big dog slip into the little dog section and vice versa. The boxes were stocked with bags and the trash wasnt too bad. There were fun features like tunnels in the open run area. Plenty of room to section off from any dogs that arent getting along with your dog. It has a cool little forested area with lots of tables and benches. The ground was covered with mulch but it could still get a bit muddy. They conveniently had shoe cleaners at the exit. People and dogs alike were very friendly and well behaved. A great time was had by all.

This park itself, as a whole is huge. The dog park area though is kinda.... eh. Yes it has water features but only one bath area for one dog at a time, and the water drains off into dirt which keeps your pet filthy wet. The main park isnt grass, its soil and woodchips so you really cant tell if owners have picked up after their dogs or not. Travel a few miles away from this dog park and there are a few more parks that are cleaner and easier to use.

The park itself is amazing! Large enough that my high energy husky/aussie mix can run to her hearts content. The water park section is also super nice for letting the pup cool off, especially on those hot texas days. I will say it s SUPER important to keep an eye on your pup here. More than a few times people have have brought their aggressive dogs in. Like admittedly aggressive (specifically this one guy who has 3 boxers and first thing he said was 2 of them are aggressive so keep your dog away.) You would think it would be common sense to not bring an aggressive dog to a dog park but people are dumb sometimes so keep that in mind. Other than that the park is amazing!! We go about 3 times a week!

Great park! Has a splash pad and a small doggy pool. They have an area for large dogs and small dogs. My dog loves it here.

I love all of the space for my pup to run! I do wish there were more obstacles for her to play on, but she haft fun! I especially like the water park area. What a great way for dogs to cool off in the hot Texas summer. Edit: I loved this park when we first moved here. However we stopped bringing our dog because there were increasingly aggressive dogs whose behavior towards her was affecting her home life. People dont pay attention to their dogs at this park. Its all fine and okay until its not, and I refuse to risk my dog getting hurt.

Great park. Has small and big dog section. Water fountain your your pups. Splash area with fountains from the ground. It s a dog water park! If you prefer a solo walk with your furry friend there s also a nice trail right beside the park. During the summer keep an eye out for snakes while on the trail.

Some dogs can be rough and the owner wont correct them. My dog got attacked and was injured and the owner just sat there and did nothing. Other than that this park is awesome

The park is a great idea and great facility but have to agree with others about unfriendly owners with dogs that are left to do as they please. We took our young dog which is 5 months old (30 lb.) and learning to socialize so thought we would keep him on a leash inside to have some control on his behavior. That was a mistake because other dogs were not being controlled and were larger and aggressive hurting my dog even when he was laying down to try and not get hurt. When I went to separate them only then did I get owners to respond and tell me that I was wrong to have my dog in there with a leash and to read the rules. After that had enough and left the park, great welcoming from these friendly owners.
