Gave it another try 9-27-2024 Ordered the Chicken Del Mar and Ultimate Mix appetizer. I dont know what people are eating here to keep this place open, but I have not found it. 1. The crab is fake. The menu spells it crab, but it is actually KRAB. It the imitation crab product you get in stores in those sticks. Shame on this place not representing that according to industry standard. 2. The red bell pepper sauce was broken. Pools of grease on each end of the boat. I got my sauce on the side. 3. Parmesan Creamed Spinach was HORRIBLY OVER SALTED! I have nothing against frozen spinach either, but theyre not blanching it so its getting so dark and pasty from holding. 4. Ultimate Mix was supposed to come with Fried Mushrooms as well...we got one cap and a half of a stem. Sad thing is one of the Managers brought it out. Guess we dont expo at this place. 5. The rice pilaf is Uncle Bens Brand. Id recognize that grey color from that seasoning packet anywhere. Its a great product, but wasnt handled well. The wild rice bits were undercooked so it was like eating pine needles and there was some dried out clumps. Not to mention they spread it out on the plate so it was lukewarm when I got it. 6. I wish they had a dress code. Our servers was wearing open back, core soled slides. He kept shuffling his weight because his feet were hurting. You wore your slides to work sir! On concrete. Insanity. Then I asked for a manager so I could let them know about the food they sent a girl out with a tight clingy skirt on with a split up to her mid thigh out there. Hair dyed black, dark lipstick. Bright orange top on. The hostesses all had on some variation of a black top and pants, combat boots, loose hair. 7. Watch the rug at the door as you go out. It isnt anchored and it caught the front of my shoe and I almost tripped and fell. If you like your face, step lively, over that rug. Ive never been here before and here it is....I had the Cattleman or Rancher style ribeye. The mushrooms were so salty and dark. My steak was tough and kind of bland really. I did ask for it well and I usually help myself out and ask for it medium well and it comes out just right because people dont accommodate for carry over cooking, but I forgot too late this time. The onion rings were not crisp and were not salted after frying. They are batter in a cornmeal batter which is heavy as well as flavorless. The creamed spinach was underwhelming. The spinach artichoke dip was tasty and comes with toasted bread and chips. The Prime Rib soup is overrated. It doesnt have any body to it (watery) and I only had two pieces of meat in my bowl. I wanted to be impressed, but the food just wasnt it. The decor is nice and the layout of the place is good.

Our dinner experience started with a wonderful Bavarian dark bread and cinnamon butter. The Starters we chose were a half order of Zucchini Chips and half order of Mozzarella bites. For drinks we had a Chilton, Blue Moon, house Margarita, and water. The Starters were promptly on the table along with our drink order. All was plentiful and quite tasty. Main course consisted of two house salads, Chicken del Mar with rice pilaf, sautéed vegetables and the Mesquite Smoked Prime Rib with the New Orleans potatoes. Dinner was well prepared, flavorful, and delicious. Our server Mia was very helpful and happy to be serving us. She s great! The experience was very satisfying. I highly recommend!

I was so disappointed today when I took my leadership team to celebrate at Harrigans for lunch. The service was extremely slow. It took over an hour to get our food. Everyone was served, but me, and all I ordered was soup and salad. Someone from the table had to get up and ask for it to be brought out, which the hostess did. The waitress should have acknowledged the delays and aired on the side of rude the entire lunch. A two-hour lunch is unacceptable. One of our team members had to leave before lunch was even served. This saddens me as Harrigans has always had such a strong history in Lubbock. I dont see them being around much longer.

The waitress was nice. Our starter came out with mushrooms. After I told them I was allergic they took it back to fix it and just took them off instead of making it over. But they missed one on the plate. Manager got it remade correctly and after that no issues. My steak was great and the wife s pasta was ok but she will definitely try something different next time.

To start off the waitress was nice and attentive. The bread and butter was delicious. Then we ordered the sizzling mushrooms and they had a good flavor but way too much salt. My wife ordered the steak and Parmesan spinach and she didn t like the spinach. I ordered the Hawaiian chicken which was okay, I wasn t too crazy about the teriyaki sauce and the veggies were plain nothing special. The picture I seen online and the plate I received didn t look the same. I took a picture but not until after I took a couple of bites. We ve ate here before and had a way better experience with our food. I think we ll try it again we may have just ordered the wrong food.

Not impressed at all. I got chicken fried steak with Southern Cream Gravy. Nothing Southern about that gravy. Tasted like it was packaged and was awful. It ruined the the potatoes and steak. My wife got the Chicken del Mar that claimed to be loaded with luxurious crab & shrimp. Nothing luxurious about imitation crab and no shrimp. But to mention there was twice as much breading than chicken. My son got the New York Strip that was over cooked, dry and not seasoned at all. My daughter got the Cajun Chicken Penne. There was a full plate of pasta but there was only a little scoop of the Cajun sauce poured on the top. They were not cooked together nor even mixed together because there was a lot of naked pasta on the plate. Do not recommend do to over priced for what you get and it tastes awful. Wont be back. I do have to say the highlight was the waitress. She was wonderful and very attentive.

They kept a lot of the staple entrées that I remember when I was a kid. Ive been eating at Harrigans for over 40 years and the unique flavors still remain. Wheelchair accessibility: Entrance is level with the ground. Parking can be tricky. Get there early.

We went there for my son s birthday which we have since they reopened. Service was great. Had a six o clock reservation was sat in a timely fashion and waited on. Then we sat for an hour and 39 min waiting on food. Which most was fine but the last chicken fried steak was way over done. We then got the excuse that they had 2 new cooks. Also was told by the manager that they were a three course service restaurant and that it just takes time. She was then of course rude to us and said well I can just tell y all don t want to pay the bill, so I ll just comp the whole thing, dropped son complementary appetizer cards on the table and walked off. The waitress was great, apologized the whole time about everything even offered to pay some of it out of her pocket, I m sure because management comped the whole ticket she was worried that she would not get a tip. Was not the case and was never the case. She was great. Management on the other hand, not so much. So we tipped the waitress and left finally around 9. Doubt we will be back.

I took my parents here last Saturday night for their 62nd anniversary , several of us ordered soup and it was all cold, two of us sent the soup back to be heated up and it came back still cold, once we got the soup back the meal came, several people at the tables chicken was cold and rubbery. Two people had the meat loaf and it was cold as well. My daughter got the chicken bites and they came out well after everyone else had their food and they were burnt. I have been here several times before but I will not go back after this. Plus they added a 48 automatic gratuity which would be ok but the service was not great and slow and the food was horrible and cold. The restaurant was not even full so this was no excuse.

I called at 4:10pm on 12/23 to find out if we could make a reservation, she said not tonight but theyre accepting walkins. Great! I asked what time they close and she said 10pm. We walked in at 8:05 and the hostess said theyre closed. They closed at 8pm. I told her about my earlier phone call and the info I was given and she shrugged and said, Sorry. Merry Christmas. It came off as her saying goodbye, GTFO. Even the 10 year old with us commented on it when we walked out. It was blatantly rude and uncaring. Were taking our business to Cagle. Response: My original choice of words, as you put it, was simply to sarcastically write Thanks, B. in my review. I decided to dial back on my sarcasm as it wasnt necessary, so i edited it out. I appreciate your apology, it seems very sincere. No need for a special dinner, though.

15 minute wait after being seated before a server came to the table. 35 minute wait after ordering to get a martini and glass of wine, and then the dirty martini had no olives, so the server brought them in a jigger (no complimentary toothpick). 40 minutes after being seated before having food order taken. One entre came out, with the side of soup for the second entree, one hour and 5 minutes after we were seated. The second entree came out 15 minutes later. The red wine and mushroom sauce for both entrees was really just brown gravy. And none of it tasted good. We have had a similar meal at a cafeteria. Should be able to give zero stars for food. No apology, only an excuse that the kitchen was stressed. This was awful. And what made it worse was that we came here during a visit to Lubbock after years away. Harrigans used to be a place we liked. We will not return.

The last time I was at Harrigans, it was at 50th and Memphis. The new location is very nice. The service was excellent (ask to sit in Hunters section, she was our server), and the food was wonderful. If you leave this place hungry, it is your own fault. There were 4 of us who went to eat. They bring you this dark bread that looks like cake and it is soft and warm like cake. We had steaks, a chicken fry, and a meatloaf (best meatloaf in town, hands down). Sides were mashed potatoes, fries, and cream spinach (which was the best side). All the meals came with a soup or salad. For drinks, we had 2 mixed drinks, a diet coke, and 2 unsweetened teas. There was enough food to feed 6 to 8 people, and we had to get boxes for leftovers!! The leftovers were just as good the next day. It was expensive, what isnt right now. With all the drinks and food, it was around $160 with a big tip ($45) because the service she provided was that great!! I highly recommend this place if you are looking for wonderful food, excellent service, and enough leftovers for a full meal for the next day.

This place is a complete DISAPPOINTMENT. Came here with my best friend last night and it was both our first time trying this place. It s a pricey restaurant so we expected so much. First off, the front desk lady (looked like a teenager) was just sitting behind the desk with her leg up on the chair while she s cleaning up a wound on her knee . After we sat down and I ordered a frozen margarita, the waitress told me the blender is BROKEN. My friend ordered a mojito and the waitress came back stating they are out of mint . We wanted to leave and we jokingly told our waitress we are just going to leave, but we wanted to give it a chance and try the food. Since this is a bit of an upscale restaurant, I expected to pay a higher price for the food. Unfortunately, the blackened salmon I ordered was not worth $34. Poor plating for this kind of restaurant, rice was undercooked, vegetables were greasy, and food was salty overall. I definitely will NOT be coming back nor will I recommend this to my friends and family.

So this was only our 2nd time there in like 3 years. We are usually not too picky about our food, but the chicken fried steak had absolutely no flavor and it was heavily breaded. The steaks also had no flavor and one of the steaks had a lot of fat. Not good at all for the price you pay. Not going back.

Ate here to celebrate our anniversary. Our waiter, Brady, was very nice, our Sizzling Mushroom appetizer was good, drinks good. The entrees, however, were terrible. Chicken Del Mars crust on the chicken was falling off, not really stuck on like fried chicken should be, bland; best part was the potatoes. The Cajun Chicken Penne was even worse. Absolutely no flavor, came out with barely any sauce. Tasted just like wet pasta straight from the boiling pot. Chicken was also bland. Just all around bland entrees, for $20 each. All in all, $80 spent on 1 appetizer, 2 drinks, and 2 entrees. Would not recommend, at all, to anybody, except if you want to tip the waitstaff because Im sure theyll need it.

Took my mother in law there for her birthday lunch, and her sister from out of town. That was their favorite place to eat. There was 5 of us. Went there today at 11:30. Ordered drinks and Bacon wrapped shrimp and also the Spinach and artichoke dip. We knew what we wanted so we ordered 5 of the filet in wine sauce ($29.00) each. Waitress comes back to table and they don t have any one of the appetizers. Ok fine. Then she comes back and they don t have any filets. Ok. On the board as you come in they advertise the soup of the day as White Cheddar soup. So we asked for 2 soups to go. Waitress comes back to table and they don t have any soup. By this time we were pretty disgusted that they didn t have anything. No Manager ever came to the table to apologize. Needless to say we got up and left. Asked the hostess if they had complaint card and she asked Why! Do you need one . Was very disappointed at our whole experience. We did tip the waitress it was not her fault that the kitchen did not have any food. I doubt I will get any response from management or owner.

Harrigans offer some excellent service operations and asthetics. While my steak seemed EXTREMELY Sous Vide, the flavor was still great. A grey steak isnt the most appealing look to receive, but the flavor made up for it. Id like to try one more time before deciding if it was a 1-off OR consistent methodology.

We were so excited to have a nice dinner with our college son tonight! Due to a table with 10 people that were beyond loud, the whole experience was a total let down. Food was good, service was great, but because we could not hear each other, the night was ruined. We asked the waitress to ask them to lower their volume but that did nothing. My expectation was that a manager step in and stop the madness. But this did not happen. I understand people want to have a good time and laugh but we wanted to enjoy our time as well. On the way out we stopped at 2 tables and asked customers if they were struggling to hear as well, both tables were as upset with the situation as we were. We love Harrigans and we will be back, but we expect management to ensure our family experience is as wonderful as the partying groups experience.

Harrigans use to be one of my favorite spots growing up. Me and my fam would go eat there every Friday and I was sad when they closed, and for years we never thought that they would open again but thankfully they did. The restraunt is just as good as it was years ago and didnt miss a best. Good was good and thr service was good even with as busy as it was. I will say they do automatic gratuity on larger parties so keep that in mind when you get your bill. Other than that good overall experience. Parking: Parking is good for thr size of the restraunt, good space and room. Wheelchair accessibility: Its pretty tight in there, but a wheelchair will be fine, just plan ahead.

My wife and her friend had made reservations days in advance and when they showed up, because the entire part of FOUR was not all present the hostess would not seat my wife and her friend. They were asked to wait at the bar where they still were not waiting on. The place was half empty so it s not like they were going to take up needed space. After 20 mins of no service at the bar they decided to leave and when they were exiting the hostess made a smart remark and said oh well! It s a shame too because this was supposed to be a special night for the friend that was with her. Shame on you HARRIGANS!

So I had not been to the new Harrigans. I loved the old one.... Course I left Lubbock in 2006. The charm and atmosphere in my opinion was better than before! The kept all the best treasures like the books, small intimate booths for 2, novel ideas, nice chairs to sit in while waiting, and added better lighting, refurbished tables (same ones), want a special view of the kitchen They got it! Want a private room for a meeting?Look no more! They even nursed the old plants until they opened and brought them into the brighter Harrigans! Enjoy the pics on the walls, the unique lights and the cork heart. Loved it! The staff were awesome! The cooks great even waved to Jeff making faces at them through the glass.! The food? Enough for 2 meals! I had the chicken fried chicken and Jeff the grilled chicken sandwich. Yum! Oh and of course that wonderful bread! One of the best kept gems in Lubbock! Well be back! The cost equal to fast food with the extras, so why not treat yourself to a lovely experience instead!

Went here on an impromptu date night. Nice atmosphere and clean facility. Service was very slow, took about an hour to receive our order, when we did finally receive the food, it wasnt what we ordered, and the food was sad at that. (We didnt send it back or complain to staff because we didnt want to wait forever). Dry burnt chicken (not just charred but burnt) in the pasta. Black magic cake had no magic, just a sad slice of bundt cake in which they forgot the puree and Anglaise sauce. One entree was just completely wrong. *EDIT* I do want to mention that the manager on duty did make things right on the ticket before we left and was very pleasant. (had already written review, just now making edits) I also appreciate that Patrick the owner is reaching out on reviews to make sure we get taken care of.

My husband and I went there twice in one week. Once to celebrate a very big anniversary, as this has traditionally been our anniversary restaurant for a very long time. The first time we went on 2/1, my napkin had old, crusted food on it and I asked for a new set of silverware. The waitress had a hard time finding anymore clean silverware as she stated. That was a bit alarming. We waited a long while for our food. We ordered our steaks medium rare and they both came well done. We ended up sending them back and not wanting them replaced since wed been there so long as it was. It was explained to us that the kitchen only had one cook and that it was severly shorthanded. The waitress was very nice and our meal was comped. We decided to go again the next Saturday and redo our anniversary dinner. I was sure to ask before we even got there if the kitchen was staffed appropriately so we could enjoy a nice dinner because were driving in from Levelland. I was assured that it was. Again, my steak was overcooked and very much not to my liking. The waiter then explained that the cook was only 17 years old and had been working there for 3 weeks and that was why my steak wasnt made right. Again, I sent it back and didnt want a replacement. Its been so disappointing both times weve gone lately. I consider(ed) Harrigans to be a high end restaurant but the experiences weve had say otherwise. I hope the training for your cooks gets better so we can enjoy the restaurant as we did at one time.

Service and ambience were good. Everyone was pleasant. Started with a Bloody Mary that was among the worst Ive ever had. French onion soup was good. Had the chicken fried steak, and it was close to awful. I could only eat about half of it. Good CFS just isnt that hard. Sysco sells better gravy. My wife had pasta with shrimp, and enjoyed it, but with a lot of competition in Lubbock, we wont need to return here anytime soon. Sorry. Thanks for the kind reply. Sounds silly, but the Bloody was probably the thing I most looked forward to, as I recall those I had at the previous location many years ago. Your offer is very kind, and well sure take you up on it. Maybe some day/evening next week. Thanks again.
