I just ordered Uber Eats from this place, when I tell you I had to run to write a review. The beef patty was . I couldnt even get a picture of it. The food was great, the portions are very good! Used this restaurant for catering after my visit with coworkers earlier this year. The food was delivered on time, hot and fresh. Everyone in the meeting loved the food and was happy to have something other than the same ole American cuisine. Ordering online was easy as 1,2,3...point and click pay, go receipt within minutes!!! Happy that they offer catering!!! Went there with coworkers for lunch - food was hot and prices was good (brown stew chicken), and food was out pretty quickly. I will return.

So my sister and I decided to try this Island Tingz Caribbean Grill. We were very disappointed! We got the Curry Chicken and Roti! And to my surprise we got only chicken backs and necks in the Roti! Like who does that??? The Curry tasted so watery with no flavor and salty! And to top it off the lady at the cash register was very unfriendly! The place was so hot with only fans blowing! That tells me that the food is not at the right temperature if you don t have no air condition in your restaurant! Not so happy after paying $23.00 a plate! Food Not worth the price!

I went in after visiting my bank, I had asked the tellers if they had eaten there and they said no..but it smells good. I decided to try, BAD IDEA The older man working the counter was NOT friendly. The lady that brought my food out was NOT friendly. The food smelled great, but taste awful. I ordered : Oxtail with cabbage/rice and peas, I also got a side of Mac n cheese. The sauce on the oxtail tasted artificial, as if it was premade/in a bottle. The cabbage was HARD. The rice and peas taste old and stale. The Mac n cheese tasted spoiled as if it had been left out of long and it was watery. My stomach, still hurts and it s been 24 hours since I ate the food.

We came in for the first time after having passed by. We had the curry chicken, curry goat and a curry chicken roti. The curry goat was exceptionally flavorful and very tender. My Trini husband liked the curry chicken roti but found it difficult to eat which is not unexpected with a very full roti. Chicken was flavorful and juicy. If you re looking for great Jamaican food, this is it. Nice offering of Jamaican and Caribbean non-alcoholic beverages. Decent atmosphere for dining in, not very tropical except for reggae and Caribbean music. Service is fairly friendly and efficient. Not a full-service eatery.

The food was beyond flavorful and delicious! Every bite of the brown stewed chicken and oxtails was amazing. Tender, juicy, fall off the bone meat! The flavor of the stew was perfect. We got cabbage and Mac n cheese as the sides, the cabbage was good! Seasoned and flavored perfectly, not salty at all and cooked through but not too mushy. The Mac n cheese, eh. Man, let me tell yall about this spot! Island Tingz Jamaican Restaurant in Humble, TX, is straight fire! As soon as you step in, you know youre about to get some real-deal Jamaican flavor. The jerk chicken? Man, its got that perfect kick and smokiness you cant get enough. The brown stew chicken is mad good too, with that rich, deep sauce that hits all the right spots. The rice and peas are on point, cooked just right with that authentic taste. The cabbage adds a nice crunch, and those plantains? Sweet and caramelized, just how they should be. Everything comes out hot and fresh, like they just made it for you on the spot. But it aint just about the food. The customer service here is top-notch. The staff makes you feel right at home, always checking in and making sure youre good. The vibe of the place is cool too chill, laid-back, and full of good energy. They even have a bar. I recently visited this Caribbean restaurant while in Houston, and I must say, the experience was quite disappointing. The facility was not clean, although there were Clorox wipes visible, so I cleaned the table myself. The young girl at the cashier wasnt rude but also not welcoming. The place had a very hood vibe, with no air conditioning and lots of industrial fans trying to keep it cool. Dirty hookah pipes lined up on the bar. As for the food, it was subpar. We ordered all the available sides. The cabbage was so salty it could have been shared with the dry rice and peas, which were missing salt and milk. The mac and cheese was cold and obviously made with Velveeta, which is more plastic than cheese. The curry chicken was clearly made the same day, which in Caribbean cooking is not a good sign. You could tell it had not been marinated properly. The jerk wings tasted more like barbecue wings, with no spice or char at all. We are visiting Houston and this was a recommendation, but I cannot recommend this place to others.

Tried the curry chicken & brown stewed chicken with cabbage. It was ok, better than another spot Ive tried. The curry goat & ox tails here is good, just pricey for the amount of meat giving. The only regret I have about this place is not going sooner. I have been telling my husband for the past year about the this place, so we finally went, and everything was delicious. We will definitely be returning soon. I ordered the steamed fish and veggies and the buttery taste was just bomb. THEY CANCELLED OUR ORDER FOR FATHER S DAY THE DAY OF! This is absolutely unprofessional especially with it being a special occasion. We ordered well ahead of time, days before, and they decided to cancel our whole order on the day we were supposed to pick it up. Thankfully we had not started the commute to pick up the food because we live about an hour away. Last weekend I had a small graduation party for my twins here and it was fabulous. The food took me back to the carribean, it was very delicious and fresh. The owners were beyond accommodating and the service was perfect, I couldnt have asked for an better experience. Everything was PERFECT!!!!! I ordered my food for takeout and got the curry chicken with mac n cheese and cabbage. I also asked for a patty but she didn t hear me I guess and never rang it up so I just said whatever and didn t worry about it. I waited a couple mins and went back in to get my food, the cashier was a little rude giving me the food but still I just brushed it off. BUT what threw me off completely was the FOOD they gave me rice and peas by accident, which was fine, but they had NO FLAVOR. I ve never eaten rice and peas with no flavor before so I was shocked. THEN the CURRY CHICKEN had no flavor either no salt or pepper taste, NOTHING. I was LIVID! The only thing that was flavored right was the cabbage thank God! And the Mac N Cheese, was horrible! I don t know if it was the extreme salty taste or if there was just some ingredient in there that made it taste like that, but never in my life have I had such a bad Mac n Cheese before. This had absolutely no Island flavor to it whatsoever. I was expecting to atleast have a kick of spice somewhere in there but it was absolutely awful. DO NOT go here. AVOID This was the blandest stew chicken I ve ever tasted. it tastes like a European made it. Gravy was bland/watery. The cabbage was just ehh, mid, so so.. it was edible and the Mac and cheese.. omg ew. It tastes like it came from the box. I know there aren t many options in Humble but please don t go here thinking you re getting real Jamaican food. I rather pay $30/plate at Cool Running vs $13/plate here.. you can taste the difference. they May have Caribbean cooks, but this isn t true Caribbean food. it s the worst I ve had tbh. The flavor is definitely lacking. it s like a watered-down version and none of my Caribbean friends make Mac and cheese like that. Was in the area for work and decided to stop by for the 8.99 jerk chicken lunch special. Got a drumstick and two thighs charcoal smoked to perfection with a perfect savory and sweet jerk seasoning liberally applied. Tender, juicy, and flavorful. For sides I had rice and peas with a delicious curry gravy, and sweet tender fried plantains so good I treated them like a dessert. Food came out hot and fast. My buddy had a beef patty and enjoyed that too. It looked flaky and delectable. Would definitely suggest stopping by this little gem.

So, Google is asking me to update my review after my recent visit. I brought some family that never had Jamaican food before and really dont like spicy hot anything and they loved it! Finished their plates, even! Heres the rest of my previous review because I still feel the same way. Ive been to a lot of Jamaican /Caribbean restaurants but Ive come back to this one the most! The first thing that struck me as I walked in, the decor is nicer than any other Jamaican restaurant Ive been to. The smell of food in the air is always inviting and the flavors have always been excellent in my opinion. The portions are traditionally huge and can serve most people for 2 meals! The owners seem to be a great team, keeping everything running smoothly and the chefs do a great job of consistency making great food. The polite service and kindness from everyone tops off the experience every time I visit. A true gem of a restaurant! If you havent tried Jamaican food because youre afraid of spicy, this might be the first place for you to try because they do a great job of providing the traditional flavors while keeping it pretty mild, making this one of the most kid friendly Jamaican restaurants Ive been to. If you want it hotter, just ask for some sauce and mix it in, youll like it too. I highly recommend visiting. I know I will continue coming here as often as I can.

I gave them a try for the first time last week and have been back 3 times since! Their oxtail with rice and peas is to do for. Def better than the other Jamaican restaurants I ve tried. I had an issue with my payment and the owner was extremely accommodating in refunding me. From my experience, their customer service has been stellar.

The jerk and rice and peas were very delicious and authentic and the escovich fish was tasty. The onions had slightly too much vinegar though. The cabbage needed more flavor, but was ok. I loved the beef patty and wanted more. I did not like the Mac n cheese. I wish it had real cheese and evaporated milk...to be macaroni pie...like we make it. But all in all..The food was good. Bathrooms were clean. Music had me wanting to dance. Staff was so nice. Seating needs upgrades but is kind of old skool and on brand. Feels like your in Brooklyn or something. I will come back.

We ate here today as we normally try to find a good Caribbean food location every time we are in Houston. We had the Curry Chicken and Oxtail plates. The flavors of both of the plates were phenomenal! All of the sides were also delicious (I particularly enjoyed the Mac N Cheese). The food was not only stellar but the customer service was even more so. The very kind lady that took our order was so caring and really made every moment of our experience special. I would 100% recommend Island Tingz if you re looking for some delicious food and amazing service! The music was also popping. 10/10!!

I ordered the oxtails plate with cabbage and rice. I was sick for two days. The only thing I had was wingstop that day, but nonetheless the plate I ordered from Island Tingz lacked flavor and the oxtails were pretty tough. Will not return, will probably have to go all the way to the south side to get authentic Jamaican food. Response to owner: Moving forward refrain from getting upset with customers about reviews about your food. If it lacked flavor investigate why and improve. Secondly, I didn t give a specific date of my order, but if you wanted to do your due diligence you would have asked to find out when I visited your establishment so that you could fix the problem instead you instantly got upset and said no one complained that day when I didn t give a date in my review. Professionalism goes a long way.

Food is very expensive, plates are cheaply made, how dare you cut a piece of chicken in half, and call it 2 pieces, the plantain extremely dry, and if you don t use SALT, your food sure asl could use more flavor, the owner is totally a entitled a hole, not at all customer friendly, it was only a young male one time that had awesome customer service, the female was very rude, the owner shouldn t be upfront with a unwelcoming attitude, I ve only been twice, but will never return, Cool Runnings food taste way better, I ll take that 45 minutes drive any day

Just left Island Tingz Caribbean Grill. My wife and are visiting from Louisiana we really enjoy good food, this spot did not disappoint. I had a two meat plate with oaxtails and jerk chicken. My wife had a two meat plate with porkchops and ribs. We shared each others meats. The portions were huge Honestly we probably could have split one plate. But now we will have some for later so win win. Staff was nice and checked on us to make sure we were OK and enjoying everything. It was a great experience and I suggest you give it a try.

I just got home from Jamaica and was still wanting some Caribbean food and this place did not disappoint. I had the stew veggies, mac and cheese, and rice and peas. I have not one complaint about any of these items. The stew veggies are so flavorful that I melted with each bite. The other person I was with had the steamed fish, cabbage, and rice and peas and she said the flavor was on point. I will definitely be back!!! Vegetarian options: They have a veggie plate and the stew veggies for vegetarians and its delicious.

I had been searching for a place that served good jerk chicken. This place was recommendation I was given to assist my search efforts as I had tried two other place looking for a place to cater for my daughter s baby shower. Rum punch was excellent. And I must say owner did replace my food, with some stewed goat...lol that I sampled ..but could not make myself eat..lol ( its a goat) the goat had a decent flavor...but...its a goat...and Im not use to the idea...lol Would go back for the rum punch...but thats it. Owner did refund my money as well I initially got the jerk chicken...which I did not care for the texture of. It was also dark meat..which I do not eat....so I really couldnt be pleased at this particular spot

Although busy the kind lady working the front kept her cool and was very kind. I hadnt had ox tails in many many years. My husband who is a 100% Texan liked them. Sides were good, my experience was pleasant. I hope they serve pumpkin soup when the weather cools down. Nice staff, clean restaurant, and flavorful food. The restaurant and staff pays homage to Jamaica from the staff uniforms, music playing to the livestream of Jamaica on the screens. Food was good and flavorful. My only issue was the rice seemed to be instant rice but I guess its to feed the masses faster. Mac and cheese was too salty for me.
