When I was unexpectedly laid off from my previous employer, I was given a 24-hour deadline to respond to their severance offer. Not only did I feel like that timeline was unfair, I also felt like I was dealing with a wrongful termination. I knew I needed an attorney, and I reached out to Caleb Patterson. He quickly stepped in to help me navigate severance negotiations with my previous employer. He was fantastic at asking the proper questions to gain a knowledgeable history of my experience at the company to help in the process. His communication with my previous employer was professional, yet firm. He was able to build excellent and thought-out responses to my previous employers claims throughout the settlement process. Caleb was also great at keeping me level-headed, as conversations around these types of negotiations can feel personal at times. In the end, Caleb Patterson successfully helped me to get a settlement with over a 50% increase from the original severance initially offered by the company. Caleb has been our companys attorney for over 5 years now. We are a large but lean business and hes helped us write and negotiate all of our master service agreements, independent contractor agreements, employment agreements, severance agreements, and every other kind of business contract. Hes also updated our handbook and internal policies to ensure were not just complying with the law but also incorporating best practices. Caleb has also handled litigation and investigations for us - we really appreciate his ability to explain things in plain English and put his experience to use in advising us. I contacted Caleb after seeing his ad in the Dallas Voice magazine. I had some pending work that needed to be done regarding my will and medical wishes if or when anything were to happen to me. Caleb helped me through what I thought (at the time) was a situation that would require legal counsel. He spent lots of time looking into my situation, and then calling and speaking with other parties to get all the facts needed. He then briefed me and gave me lots of great advice, one of those morsels being the fact that I would not, in fact, need legal representation for my matter. He really went above and beyond to ensure that I was taking the appropriate steps to rectify my situation, and he didn t even make a dime off of it he is a consummate professional that I will always turn to for legal advice and representation!
