A very nice place. Admission $5 adults Children 12 years and under free. At 4:30 the office will no longer be open, so at the entrance there are some maps and envelopes to leave the entrance payment. We were lucky to see a small alligator, an armadillo, some hares and many birds and butterflies My girls loved it, I only recommend using off because there are too many mosquitoes there. Toilets: The bathrooms close at 4:30. Dog-friendliness: Yes it accepts dogs Picnic area: Yes there are several areas to take your food

This park was so neat. With access to the rio and other cut off river sections. This is a larger park with plenty of trails and bike rentals. The staff was awesome and helpful. It was very hot but definitely worth it. The birds and butterflies were very present even in the heat of summer. The bike and tram definitely helps you see the entire park!

Nice park but whatever employee was working today (7-28-24 at 7:30 pm) was very passive aggressive and rude about park fees and what items are allowed within park grounds. I barely stepped foot on the grounds trying to find my sister and he was already pestering me saying I m trespassing . Never had these issues before. It s a shame how an employee s attitude can ruin your experience.

After viewing the photos of this park on Google, I had high expectations. The park is littered with debris. Most of the ponds and lakes are dried. No gators to be found. The park is okay if you re a birder or a bicyclist. If you intend on visiting the park, keep your expectations low or skip this park entirely. Honestly the debris found in this park really killed my experience. The map offered to visitors is not labeled correctly and I often found myself wondering where the heck I was at. In the end the entrance fee does not justify the experience. The experience is that of a city park not a state park.

Staff was friendly and actively engaged with my group, making it a more rewarding visit. Wide trails are easily accessible. There is little to no elevation change unless you go up on the levee. The bathrooms are nice, and there is a large deck overlooking a pond that is always full of a variety of ducks and other water fowl. I saw a large variety of birds and two large alligators. There were herons, rosette spoonbills, and pelicans inside the floodway. In the area that used to have mobile homes, there were many small birds and several chachalacas. It is great for serious ornithology as well as just taking the family for a nature walk. Note, during summer, it can get very hot. There are no water stations along the trail, so bring it with you. Dog-friendliness: Dogs are allowed on leash. Good place for long walks. My dogs love it.

A great place for bird watching! I was greeted in the parking lot by three red crowned parrots which are an endangered species. You can find javelinas, alligators, and a multitude of birds on miles of trails. The gift shop has a great assortment of fun items, the restrooms are clean, and the park is dog friendly - just keepem on a leash.

Small State Park packed with wildlife. Ive seen something new every time Ive gone. Half the park is known as the tropical zone, its a former rv park with paved roads perfect for morning runs or family bike riding. Bird blinds and feeders attract numerous local species of birds. The second half is more open and has various ponds that attract plent of water fowl. Trails are easy going to little rugged, perfect for mountain bikes. Alligator lake is in the center, and as its name says, you might spot a gator or two in the water.

It was well-maintained and had trash cans for trash. Although the map was a little confusing, I enjoyed going with my friend.

A wonderful park for bird watching! You can sit on their large covered deck to watch the water birds and birds that are attracted to their feeders or take a hike on their extensive, level, walking trails to see birds out in a variety of settings. Dont forget to go into their wonderful gift store as well!
