Not the best spot for swimming, but good for a hang out and putting your feet in the water. Its pretty shallow, rocky, and fast flowing with a lot of people picnicking and/or drinking along the banks.

There used to be a waterfall here and it was nice to swim. Now is just a pond (looks nice) but the swimming is now at the river...which is also nice. There is a shallow area. Very nice area to swim, get in the kayak, play with dogs, kiddos. We enjoyed it. Dog-friendliness: Absolutely.

Lovely place, was quet when I went (January). Saw some birds (kingfisher, wren, warbler, cardnal). River was up to calf in some areas, ripples and all. Nice peaceful by the river bed, great place for photos or relaxing with a book/sketch book. Parking was alil tricky.

Dog-friendliness: Its a park but people frequently let their pups off leash. Heads up. Moderately flowing stream with only a few spots at Thompsons Island that are deep enough to swim. Its mostly wading and being super chill under the shade of the trees. Part of the stream is (I assume) spring fed. I think its the reason why its a pretty chilly dip

It s rocky and a bit difficult to navigate getting in to the water. I ve had a full knee replacement. But it was still wonderful. Cool water, fast current, lots of fun. Relatively quiet.

Not a park. You park along the road and walk to the river, then wander along the river until you find an empty spot to settle and get in the river. Be prepared to walk a ways but there are shady spots.

Its definitely a nice place to go, but its small. The river has a good current, and there are smaller offshoots that are good for kids. But overall, I wouldnt say its a must see. For adults, its more fun if you bring your tubes and float the river.

Short little trail that runs along the side of the river closest to the road. At one spot there was a sign on the other side that read no trespassing. However there were to people posted up underneath it hunting for rocks, I never tried to get over there to that side because it was not as maintained as the park side. Lots of shade trees over the little chill spots that had been established (which were all occupied. So we just hung out travel hammocks in branches that were over hanging the water and dangled my feet in the river. Turned out to be probably the coolest spot in my opinion. Parking had two handicap and maybe 10 regular shmegular spots. I had to find a spot in the apartments behind the lot.

Be on the look out for a peeping Tom, was seen today 04/09/2022 at around 11:48 am. He was underneath the bridge on the closes off side of the park. Straight cut hair cut, average build, skin color was tanned, standing around between 56 or 510. Look for the student housing side, or the closed off area of the creek. Stay safe and keep an eye out. I have been coming to Stokes Park since 10/04/2022 and Ive never encountered anyone that is this atrocious. This park should be a save place. Please be on the lookout, especially along the underpass of the bridge on the most southern side of the park.

Had a really fun time here. We had read that it might be closed but there were no restrictions in place. It was a little crowded and I go to the river to be alone or to be with my family so we wandered down the way a bit until we find a nice bend with an undercut on one side and a little back/dirt beach on the other. Only a couple people swam past, one couple smoking pot which was nice for the ambience. Great time
