Great late night service and good queso! The red curry coconut queso was good, though it was a little too sweet. The corn chips were also pretty good. The service was quick and our order came in less than a few minutes. The restaurant has a nice garage style design and a drive thru lane.

Never a miss. Com here if you want an elevated twist on the Taco. Dont expect street tacos coming here, they have tacos featuring flavors from all over the world (imagine a chicken Tikka taco, Nashville hot tofu taco, etc.) If its your first time, try the 3.5 and the 12 (they number their tacos). For an appetizer the red coconut curry queso or the brisket nachos are a guaranteed hit. For desert- red velvet, made on site, and exactly how cake is supposed to be. There are margaritas and beer. All that to say, if youre out after last call looking for that perfect, there is no other choice than velvet taco. (If youre looking for more street tacos, Google Salsa Verde, only a few locations but also a late night hit. Get the Birria Queso)

Velvet Taco felt like an upscale counter service restaurant. The various taco options are very tasty and pair well with the margaritas (blended or on the rocks with different choices for rim - salt, sugar, or tahini). There is a perfect outdoor seating area for days or evenings of nice weather. The staff is very friendly and helpful bringing items to your table if needed.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Velvet Taco, and I cant praise their vegetarian tacos enough! Interesting taco concept. I will say that each taco definitely has its own flavor profile as well as unique elements. I tried 3 tacos: Slow Roasted Angus - This was my favorite, plenty of tender brisket. I will say the tortilla soft tortilla smash cov in cheese, like a parmesan crisp. Picnic chicken - tasty taco and a little messy, so it was nice that they gave a little spoon/fork as the fillings and sauce fell out. Spicy Tikka Chicken tasted like instant tikka on the go. Its not bad, but I would have like more spicyness. For dessert, I had the red velvet slice. Warning: This is a very sweet item, and Im sure I was in a diabetic stage hrs after I ate 1/3 of this. I could eat it all as all the elemnt were very sweet. The cake was dense and moist but too sweet for my liking. The frosting was also very sugary, like a buttercream with a hint of cream cheese. I wish it was a tart cream cheese to cut the sweetness. It also came with a sweet caramel like drizzle. I did drizzle but regretted it as it was also very sweet. Now, I will say I would not mind that drizzle in some black coffee, but thats another adventure. If you like over the top sweetness, get the cake.

I am extremely disappointed and outraged by the treatment I received at this establishment. As a paying customer, I expect to be treated with respect and courtesy, not yelled at for no reason. The manager, in particular, was incredibly rude and unprofessional. I was simply trying to enjoy my meal when the manager came over and started yelling at me. His excuse? He wanted to close early. This is absolutely unacceptable behavior. A manager s role is to ensure customers have a pleasant experience, not to intimidate and harass them. It s a shame that an otherwise enjoyable visit was completely ruined by this unprofessional conduct. I hope this establishment takes customer service seriously and addresses this issue promptly. Until then, I cannot recommend this place to anyone. This is the manager

Velvet Taco has a very chic vibe~ The employees are friendly, the restaurant is clean, and there is an ample amount of seating, both indoors and outdoors. The Food is average for the most part, with the Spicy Shrimp taco being the best of them. And considering each order is only one taco, it is also on the pricier side. If the tacos were on the level of being delicious, or if I said, D*** that was good! Then I could justify the price, but I didnt say that with my bites of each taco. Rather, I said, D*** that was underwhelming, and overpriced! I hope they can either work on the flavor of their tacos, or figure out a different pricing scale.

Updated: New favorite is the Korean Rice Taco. Highly recommend. Ive eaten at a Velvet Taco once before and enjoyed it, but I felt my experience at this new location was even better. I had the#12 brisket taco and a #19 bacon and egg taco. Both were exceptionally flavorful and fresh. The #19 took the medal today so Ill be getting that one again next time and plan on trying the#8.5 Green chili pork. Definitely recommend.

My new favorite taco place. I wish I found this place sooner. I love the variety of tacos and that the flavors are non traditional. I ve tried the picnic chicken, waffle chicken and the chicken tikka. The waffle chicken and the chicken tikka are my favorites because they have the most flavor. The guacamole and queso are good as well. The salsa, is okay, I prefer salsa to be cold instead of hot. The red velvet cake is good as well. I was so incredibly disappointed that I HAD TO leave a review. They don t even get a star, just had to tap on one to be able to leave this review. I drove up to the Richardson location and ordered a Salmon taco for take out, the lady told me to pull around and they would bring it out to my car. I waited for 20min for ONE TACO! The girl finally brings it out. All of the napkins in the bag are really badly balled up with food sauces and residue all on them. The corn tortilla was straight out of the bag, I mean they didn t even heat it up or nothing. It was so cold like it was straight out the refrigerator and was breaking apart it was so cold. My taco should have been warm at the very least. It was a cold taco and the tortilla was the worst that has ever been served to me. Never again will they get my business.

I like Velvet Taco, but I would not recommend this location. Food is OK. Tried this location once, and compared to other locations (Dallas), it was saltier. And to top it off, a metal twig was in the chip bag, went to my mouth, stuck in my gum (right below teeth) until I pulled it out to find out what it was. Any other place I would never try it again, but velvet taco is just so good and this one is too close to ignore. Bumping my rating back up, but please don t ever serve us raw chicken again. Original review: Uncooked Chicken. Been a long-time fan of velvet taco for amazing flavors, but they just served us seared raw chicken. Zoom on the photo and you ll see the middle is completely raw and chewy on 2 of the 6 tacos we ordered. Never been served raw chicken before, and hoping we don t get severely ill. Please do something immediately to stop this from happening to anyone else. They gave us a refund, but that s definitely not worth the risk of food poisoning.

Tacos are Velvet. Let me explain. Everyone knows velvet is a type of fabric. Very plush. Thick. Fuzzy. At flea markets, you may find a drawing of Elvis Presley or perhaps Willie Nelson drawn on velvet. Black velvet. Which isnt at all what Bobby Vinton was singing about in his song Blue Velvet (https://youtu.be/icfq_foa5Mo?si=iLn4CzLqF_DMDTiz) He was heartbroken because the love of his life left him. That girl wore blue velvet, now, who wears blue velvet? Unless he was referring to some sort of blue lingerie, there is not a reason anyone should wear ---> blue velvet. Its uncomfortable. I guess. I dont really have the experience of wearing it. Velvet Taco does have Red Velvet cake. Its not fabric. You cant wear it. Its a cake you eat. So eat it. And while youre at it. eat some innovative tacos with someone you love. This is assuming the love of your life hasnt left you. Yet. In any case, you have it better than Bobby Vinton. Not only did the love of his life split the scene for more promising pastures . . .Bobby Vinton isnt alive anymore. So once more, enjoy your tacos. Eat some cake. Live!

Hard to go wrong with VT. ...that said, my order is pretty basic and Im probably not experiencing the full mouth explosion. Didn t really care for the steak quesadillas (kids menu) neither did my 13 year old son. Weren t feeling the cheese. Could have been hotter. Buffalo tacos are pretty good though. The queso on one of our steak tacos was cold and hard by the time I tried to eat it.

My experiences with Velvet Taco haven t been the greatest. They seem to offer the most tepid, watered down version of what they perceive to be Tex Mex. Even after spending upwards of $30, the only thing edible in three entrees was the queso. All other items were devoid of any flavor. I ve complained to corporate about the disappointing culinary experience but no response surprise surprise. Won t be back.

Tacos are excellent. Tried 5 type and found chicken tikka and kobe beef is best.Nashville tofu one is tasty. Didnt like the cali-shrimp one much. Tacos are really fresh and enough amount for this price. self service system & they also have outside seating arrangements. stuff who helped us to order is also very nice and helpful. It didnt take so long to get food. You can install and sign in the app for free chips and red velvet on your birthday.

First time trying it, and I must say Ill be back. The rotisserie chicken taco was sooooo good. The flavor was great, the chicken was so tender, I know I will have that one again. The steak taco was also good. The meat was tender, and the mushrooms definitely made it more hearty & flavorful!!
