I went on a Friday afternoon and was alone in the restaurant. Ordered the beef and broccoli, teriyaki beef sticks, and egg drop soup. They were all excellent and Ive had A LOT of Chinese food. Came right off the heat to my table and it was delicious, no soy sauce, salt, or anything else needed. Best egg drop soup in six different states of Chinese restaurants, including St. Paul MN.

as a new Braunfels native this place is really a place you have to try! Others may say the outside is scary. The owner has known my entire family s order by heart for as long as I can remember. I moved about a month ago and have yet to find a Chinese restaurant that beats Peking s service , amazing food and outstanding prices. Peking will forever have a place in my heart.

Upon entering the elderly lady who I am guessing is the owner was sweet and accommodating . Food was good and she was trying her hardest to get around to serve people which I respect. I ordered the chicken with garlic sauce and it came out right away. Some of these reviews seem to be by entitled brats who want everything to be served to them immediately. You ever thought maybe they don t make enough income to hire another staff member or maybe it s hard finding people to work now? Also, she was limping! Definitely a hard worker compared to so many of you who never a hard day in your life. Stop complaining and appreciate life a bit more.

First time I ate here in 20 years. We had to get out food to go for some reason so we ordered and took it home. I had beef and vegetables and egg rolls. Egg rolls were not my cup of tea. Not much in it to be honest. Food was just average. May have been a bad day for them. The other 3 played we had all had the same opinion. It was ok. Average.

The fried rice doesnt have much flavor but what it lacks in flavor is surely made up in the entree. I ordered chicken and mushroom, and I must say, this is by far the best damn chicken and mushroom I have ever eaten. The egg drop soup is so flavorful as well. I usually need to add salt and pepper but there was no need here. And the thickness of the soup was perfect. This is a family owned restaurant and the son (our server) was very sweet and showed excellent customer service. I definitely recommend this restaurant if youre in New Braunfels.

Food is well priced. Hunan chicken and Mongolian beef were both good. Hot and sour soup was good. Egg roll was a little different than a normal Chinese egg roll but was good. Only problem was some of the fried rice (orange color?) was tough and dry. But I will come back again. Prices shown are accurate.

We used to live in New Braunfels and this was our favorite place to eat. We moved to San Antonio and thought it would be awesome to go there to celebrate Valentines Day, a few days after. We drove an hour to get there and were told to sit wherever we wanted; there were only people sitting at 4 other tables. After a few minutes of waiting for someone to take our drinks (which never happened) the only waitress there went to the back and never came back out. We waited a total of 10 minutes and no one said anything to us and there was no one around so we left. If you decide to go here I hope you have a better experience it just sucks we drove 2 hours round-trip to not even be helped.

Hunan shrimp and lemon chicken were not spicy but very sweet. Flooded in that brown sugar sauce with orange rice. 4 pieces of small shrimp and over cooked egg roll, egg drop soup and jasmine hot tea were very good. I know its cheap prices, you can get some awesome tacos for the total I paid. Not clean table sticky, utensils questionable. Hostess was very sweet and welcoming which is a shame I have to leave this review.

I wanted to like this place. I love little run down looking places, sometimes they are a hidden gem. Sometimes though, they are just that way because they are baring hanging on. We went on Sunday, right around 1pm. There was only one server, and he ended up having the whole restaurant by the time we left. Probably 12 tables seated with groups from 2 - 6 people. He was stretched thin, so basics like drink refills, extra napkins, soy sauce, etc all took too long. Food was flavorless. Bright orange fried rice wasn t really fried. It was more like steamed rice with orange food coloring and peas. Sesame Chicken was drowned in the watery sesame sauce. Wife and daughter bother ordered portions of sweet & sour chicken. It was a chicken strip cut up AFTER it was fried, not individually battered pieces one would expect. No flavor in the batter. To top it off, right before we left the server dropped the only thing ice scoop on the ground. He just picked it up and put it back on the drink stand. Two minutes later, he scoped ice for new patrons. TERRIBLE. Only positives were the server was very nice, and hard working and the food was a reasonable price.

This was the most unreal Chinese restaurant Ive ever been to in my life. Immediately upon walking in the doors, we noticed the hostess (Dont know if shes still there) had no shoes on and after showing us to our sticky dirty table, went ahead and laid town under a table near the front and watched videos on her phone. The next humongous red flag was the bottle of Heinz Ketchup sitting on the table. Im not above using ketchup on food but if you need Ketchup for Chinese food, it cant be that great. We ordered and the food came out quickly which was the best thing up to that point! But we were shocked almost instantly when one of my family members put their fork into the food and the rock hard piece of chicken launched off the plate and straight over the the table top of the table next to us. We laughed hysterically for the next 5 minutes but when they tried again the fork bent and the second piece of chicken went flying off the table which sent us all over again! The staff looked at us like we were lunatics and to be completely honest, with the way we were laughing we probably did look like lunatics and some! But once we calmed down again we all tried to eat our plates we all felt that our food was over cooked, dry, and just lacked flavor. We paid for our food and settled for Panda Express a couple blocks down since we werent feeling bold enough to try a new to us Chinese food place. Things might have changed there since then but I know that I dont plan on returning to Peking. Food 1/10 Entertainment 10/10

Ive been meaning to try this place out for a long time. Its been around forever. The 4.1 star rating was very misleading. There are at least five better Chinese restaurants within walking distance of this restaurant. I would suggest that you try one of those or just go home and order a pizza. I had kung pao chicken that was drenched in some kind of sweet and sour syrupy sauce. I asked for it to be extra spicy but there were no peppers anywhere to be found and honestly almost no flavor to be found either. Unfortunately I took my mother with me for this outing and she had the orange chicken. The chicken itself was rubbery and probably freezer burn is my best guess. She ate about five bites total and pushed away. The egg drop soup was okay but it was red! Ive never seen red egg drop soup. It was off-putting and the flavor was just okay at best. The egg rolls were okay but probably frozen and reheated. They certainly didnt taste like they had been made fresh. Lastly, the service. it was good the young man who was working the dining room by himself hustled around all of the tables kept our drinks full and was very earnest in his effort. He did a good job. I think his family owns the restaurant. Im glad that this family has had a successful restaurant but in order to continue in an ever more crowded New Braunfels market they are going to have to step up their game. Alternatively they should sell the land and put in a taco bell.

It was ok. Both my husband and i think it was to sweet. Garlic chicken should not be sweet. A spicy dish that had no spice also just tasted of brown sauce not the garlic in it.. Portion was great wonton soup best we ever had. I need a great spicy garlic chicken so guess we will keep looking.

Great food!! A must try. The prices are unbeatable for the amount of food that you receive. The rice was different but it is their take on it. The service was awesome.

I ordered the chicken chow mein and received runny, soggy vegetables and uncooked chicken with orange dyed rice. This is completely inedible and a total waste of $10. The other two people in my party also received questionable food. I m throwing this directly in the trash because I don t want to get sick. I wouldn t even give this to my dog.

Ive lost count of how many times me and my friends have been to this restaurant. This is one of the only places where if my friends say were going. We are all dropping what we are doing to go together. Most of us have to drive about half an hour to an hour just to get there but it is ALWAYS worth it. The food is fulfilling and cheap. The owner is a sweet lady and she makes the experience just that much better. If youre craving Asian food, this is the place to go.

The fried rice is steamed with a sauce and the beef and broccoli was tiny and WAY overpriced for the size and quality. Vastly disappointed with other google reviewers recommending this place.

Super cheap classic Chinese food. Great sauces, soup, and rice. The fried meats actually have mostly meat compared to most Chinese food.

Always quick, always consistent with their food. Idk how this woman does it(she owns the place and waitresses by herself and occasionally helps her husband cook. Her kids will occasionally watch the register) but this woman is the definition of hard working. Great food every time

I recently visit Peking after many years. Food is good, generous amount except they skimp really bad on the beef or chicken. Too much veggies n sauce. Fried rice is actually an orange steamed rice. Flavors not bad. Mongolian beef had 4 very small pieces of beef. Server was very sweet. Tea was so bland that not even sugar could make it taste better. But does come with your meal. Not sure Ill return but not a bad experience. Clean, n quiet atmosphere, quite pleasant. If they hadnt skimped. Id given 4 stars.
