I have physical and mental disabilities that make social interactions and work an impossibility. Shirley Vu and her office helped me navigate the years long process that wouldn t be possible for me to do alone. If you need an attorney for your Social Security Disability application, I would highly recommend Shirley Vu. My case was a very difficult one, with no single issue that by itself would warrant disability very easily, and made our case very difficult to represent. Shirley warned us that the odds were against this case being approved. However, Shirley took our case for our Social Security Disabilty claim and hearing before the Administrative Law Judge, after being denied initially and starting with our reconsideration phase. Be mindful that the reconsideration phase and then the time to the Hearing before a judge was over a year-and-a-half. This does not include the 13 month time for the initial application to be denied- your lawyer CANNOT speed this up, and most of that time waiting for a hearing is just keeping, and gathering data from, doctor appointments. Shirley and her assistant, Valerie, were very helpful and very nice during this whole process, and were diligent in gathering all the paperwork from all those doctor appointments- also keep in mind that this is a collaboration with the Lawyer, so be diligent to make and keep those appointments. Shirley and Valerie always answered any questions we had, and communicated back to us very quickly- most of the time within minutes (during business hours, of course)! During the hearing before the Judge (done via phone conference in this case), Shirley represented me very well, summing up my multiple issues in the best way possible, asking me questions to put all my issues in the best light possible. Now for the hard part- no matter how good your lawyer is, you still only have about a 50-50 chance of winning approval for your disability- and in Texas, the odds are worse than most states. A good lawyer can make a difference, but only to a point (they do make a LARGE difference as to oppsed to having no lawyer- the stats back this up). In our case, Shirley was a good lawyer, AND we won approval! But had we lost, it would not have dimished Shirleys work and the professional way she represented us! Thank you, Shirley and Valerie! Shirley was recommended to me by a colleague in the special-needs / disability field who stated that She is one person who truly cares about the welfare of her clients. My own experience reinforces that statement. I retained her services for my 60 year old disabled uncle who was in desperate need of medical insurance. Though a patently difficult situation from the outset, she accepted the case and ultimately secured his SSI & Medicaid. Shirley Vu is an amazing lawyer who just won my case. Her firm is so on point. Every time something had to be done they were on top of it! I do not understand how anyone navigates the disability process without a lawyer. There were so many things i wouldnt have understood or knew to do if I didnt have this lawyer.If I contact them they are always available or able to respond quickly. I seriously could go on and on about everything they did right. Also I was so nervous about my hearing but totally didnt need to be because she was amazing.

Ms. Vu and her staff are completely amazing. They helped me and respond to me and my caregiver very fast. I had had trouble with previous lawyer but Ms Vu was by far the best. A definite blessing to me and I would recommend her to anyone. Im so pleased with the help I received from her and her assistant Valarie. Amazing amazing company. I had my previous case with an attorney denied. I handled my cases and contacted me regularly. Her office called every time I went to the doctor and monthly to make sure everything was in the record. She asked for letters from my spouse and former coworkers to testify of there encounters and struggles with my illness. She didn t just leave things to her staff, she made regular contact. If I send her an email she responds immediately. I couldn t recommend her more. I was approved after five years. I wish I had found her the first time.

Ms. Vu and her entire staff were extremely helpful, highly professional, and a joy to work with. Ive hired a lot of attorneys over the years and the Law Offices of Shirley Vu stands out as one of the best experiences Ive had with any legal professional. I had a fairly complicated situation and Ms. Vu was really great about walking me through the entire process, helping to make sure I understood what was going on, and seeing that I was taken care of throughout. The professionalism of Ms. Vu is VERY Questionable. I was confused about the difference between SSDI and SSI. When I hesitated because I was googling the difference the UNPROFESSIONAL Ms. Vu stated Well I don t have to represent you. I also do not understand why they have been relocated from the chase bank location in October 2017 and has failed to inform people until they waste gas, time, and energy going to that building. When choosing a disability appeal lawyer this is not a wise choice. Due to the professionalism from Ms. Vu I cannot recommend anyone to pursue their disability appeal through her. It would be best to find a lawyer who is more professional. If there was a negative rating I could give I would.

Horrible customer service contact is minimal with it taking a long time to get a call back, when you call them it takes days to get a return call. One example is my case was settled and approved in January 2017 I received A call May 30 at 11:00 in the morning to talk about the rules and what I need to do on my end, I returned the call immediately and have not received a call back as of 7/3, there was some information I should have known about the reporting requirements but found out about the hard way. The back payment was paid in May 2017 I had to go to the Social office in order to get my check processed as my file was not processed in a timely manner, When I requested it be processed it was done within a day the attorney should have known the checks were delayed and followed up themselves. This attorney s office is a mill who throws every the thing every against the wall and see s what will stick. The bottom line is most SS attorneys are like this and you are better off going with an advocate as their success rate is about the same as attorneys but with a lot better service
