This is our favorite restaurant in New Braunfels! The food is top-notch and the service is the best in the city... Doesnt hurt that its just a couple of blocks away from our house, but even if it wasnt wed definitely still be regulars! Best bar in town - just small, so get there early!

Had a chance for a first visit to TB earlier today for brunch. Will definitely be going back. Started with the Crab Benedict...incredible. The Hollandaise sauce was terrific and thankfully, not funky/weird like Fork & Spoons. Eggs had a light, fluffy soft poach. Crab tasted like it was caught that morning. The accompanying potato cakes were some of the best Ive every had. Perfect, light crispness on the outside with just enough salt to compliment them and soft on the inside. 2nd round was bistro shrimp & grits, fantastic. Combination of a sundried tomato/bacon cream sauce along with creamy cheddar grits. And unlike the thick, lumpy play-doh grits from Mcadoos, TBs grits were terrific along with the large, grilled shrimp. Bartender also makes a really good Bloody Mary. No pretentiousness to it like 7 things attached to the toothpick or a celery tree sticking out. Just really good vodka, bloody mary mix, Tajin and one stuffed olive and a slice of lime.

We love this place and eat here often!! I love the buttermilk fried chicken, and the tuna tartare appetizer. Last night I got the pulled pork and the crème brûlée for dessert, both were delicious! My 1 year old loves the kids chicken with a side of fruit. Maeson was our waitress and she was awesome! 8/25/24- went for brunch and got the French toast with bacon, eggs and fruit! It was good! This was our first visit to TB, and well definitely be back! We had the Special of the Day: Pesto Pasta with Shrimp - delicious! The portion was very generous, enough for my husband and I to share, and we were both very satisfied. Sorry, no photos - We dove right in before we could snap a pic....Staff is very friendly and welcoming, and the ambiance and decor set the stage. Nice menu selection. Its a bit more on the pricey side, but worth it.

Texas Bistro checks all the boxes. Great place to meet. This is a little pricey for my cheap menu values, but you need to treat yourself every once in a while. This is an excellent place to treat yourself. The pecan crusted chicken was great. The service was excellent with frequent tea refills. The Key lime pie was left off the bill because the pie was a bit frozen. Texas Bistro is excellent for your chance to treat yourself. Vegetarian options: I didnt check the options closely but I know there are vegetarian pasta dishes.

This is the 2nd time I ve eaten here and not disappointed. You have to know this is really chef inspired cuisine that is not your run of the mill chain restaurants that taste the same no matter the location. If you don t have a somewhat elevated palette or have eaten at better restaurants, you might not appreciate what they do here. Both times have sat at bar, great drinks, great service, not too busy at either time. Food was beyond delicious, flavorful, combinations a normal at home cook would not come up with. This place should have more business to get out of the norm of what s out there and assembly line food. You re missing out if you re not eating here. 1st visit was the pasta dish and the 2nd was the poblano dish. I will continue to go back and keep trying something different. Saw this on Texas Eats tv show and they were right, it s a must to eat at.

This is not the first time I have eaten here. I figured pop in for Brunch. The place was bussing with customers. We sat at the front, waiting to be seated for a few minutes. I commented, Wow, you can tell they are understaffed. They sat us next to a larger table that was full. I had to pull the table out a little because it blocked the other table from getting out. The service was slow, but understandable without busy they were. I had ordered the special, which was this chicken sandwich with diced tomatoes and fries. We also ordered this Shrimp Egg Benedict. The sandwich was just ok. It was a grilled chicken patty that was covered in diced tomatoes. I am really not sure what they were trying to go with this sandwich. The fries were lukewarm. I am not a fan of Eggs Benedict, but the Hollandaise had a good favor to it. It as mixed with Chrorizo and had like a queso flavor to it. The shrimp were large. They were dusted with some sort of Cajun seasoning that was a tad bit salty. The waitress did come by to refill our drinks and hear us commenting that it was a tad bit salty. She did ask if we wanted something else. She ended discounting the plate because of the issue, which she did not have to do. Overall the experience could have been a tad bit better, but think it was.a staffing issue. Food was descent. It was not the best we have had, but not the worse. I would eat there again. It is a quaint little spot to grab for breakfast or lunch.

Saw the reviews and the rating, so I was excited to give it a try. Decor and atmosphere were nice , the server was kinda pushy about ordering drinks and kept asking on the first 3 or 4 trips to the table. Ordered the crispy potatoes appetizer. They were very oily and not very crispy. The burgers we got were pretty good, although when you order an egg on a burger, it should be runny. Ordered 3 different deserts, and they were okay at best. Overall, just not what we were hoping for.

Im sad. We were told it was a 15 min wait, which was fine. My husband grabbed us a drink from the bar and we sat in the waiting area. We were the only ones waiting at that time. We were seated and sat there for 30 mins without being greeted by anyone. I walked my daughter to the bathroom and noticed people in the waiting area. I came back to a couple who was previously sitting in the waiting area when I walked by, seated and immediately greeted by their server. She was taking their order. So I walked up to the host and let him know wed been there for about 45 mins now total without any food and my 8 yr old was getting antsy. I was told that the waiter was busy and offered water. :( I understand busyness but a simple greeting and a couple of rolls would have helped us stay, order probably $100 worth of food plus a decent tip. We got up and left. I wanted to give my business to a local spot, but Chilis saved the day. The waitress helped 2 disappointed adults and one hangry kid have a decent dinner. I will not be back to Texas Bistro.

Food is better than good. Not great but I was satisfied and not disappointed. Service is great. We were escorted to available table right away. It was not crowded but a lot of diners for Sunday lunch around 1:30p. And we didnt wait long for our server. Older gentleman but very attentive and well verse about the menu. Food took a little longer to be serve not a big deal but its a bistro and our server explained ahead of time. Not complaining just observed a group of 2 couples on the bar way too loud most probably drunk too fast or drinking for awhile and its a smaller place and we were seated 2 tables away from them. I can only imagine the family seated beside them. Over all? We will come back.

First time trying this place and it was a very odd experience. Placed an order for pickup and upon arriving, we were not greeted nor acknowledged by anyone. There were several workers around but none of them seemed to be attentive. I m giving 3 stars for the service but the food was good. We ordered 2 burgers and fries. The fries were exceptionally good. For our burgers, they came dry. I m not sure if they normally come with anything else like lettuce, tomato, or a condiment? Idk if it was an off night but not sure if I d try this place again.

Weve moved to Florida so hadnt been to Texas Bistro in several years. The good news is that it was as great as ever. My wife got her usual stuffed Poblano pepper with Chicken while I got the steak and eggs of all things with crispy fried potatoes and fried Jalapenos and it was yummy! Texas Bistro is fantastic every time! Our server was an angel (kicking myself for not remembering her name) and we are just so happy at the consistency they always have. This is the first time me and my wife have tried Texas Bistro, for no other reason than never trying it, but always wanting to This was the absolute BEST meal we ve had in the city of New Braunfels, the tomatillo salsa was fresh and tangy and you have to try the crispy duck poppers! Imagine a twist on the traditional texas staple (jalapeño poppers) shredded duck with cream cheese and jalapeños on a bed of sweet caramelized onions, they were fantastic! The salmon had the perfect amount of seasoning and the salsa verde over the top sealed the deal, the squash was not drowning in liquid, still crunchy but tender, and the rice was perfectly cooked! The pasta is so FRESH! The citrus tones taste better every bite you take, the vegetables and chicken were not dry overcooked or under seasoned. Absolute win! Creme brûlée make in house was the icing on the cake! We will be back many times over whenever we need a date night or to take the kiddos out for a bite!

If you have never been to Texas Bistro, this is definitely a place you should check out. The food here is amazing. Prices are the same or better than Chilis. Way better food for the same cost. Try the Pecan Crusted Chicken. It will not disappoint. Probably the best chicken dish I have ever had. Update: Went back for happy hour. Their incredible 1/2 pound Burgers are only $10. The only reason I put 3 stars on the food is because my burger was pretty burnt, but I still ate most of it! The service and atmosphere alone make it definitely worth returning! This is my first visit here with a friend. We were seated right away and server came shortly to get our drink order. But after we received our drinks, we sat there for quite a while. We were ready to place our order, but our server was no where in sight. My friend flagged down another server and she took our order. Then our server finally came back and asked if everything was ok. Umm we had to place our order with another server. My friend told her that we waited a while and ended up giving our order to another server. She tells us she put in that order and that she had to help take food out. The wait for our food wasnt fast nor was it extremely long. I got the blackened shrimp tacos. I know its a tired saying, but I never write reviews. This place will surprise you. Its small, but mighty. Their food (and drinks) always impress. Seriously. I have paid hundreds of dollars at fancy steak houses, but their ribeye is one of the best things Ive ever had. And thats just one example. The first & last time we will dine at Texas Bistro was last Friday. We arrived early before the Friday crowd. We were a party of 3 taken to be seated at a small table in the bar bar area next to the kitchen. We asked to be seated in the main dinning room that had ample open seating & with only 3 tables with reserved. The lady would not honor our preferred seating. The food service was very slow over 20 minutes. In our opinion the food is overpriced. .

It was our first experience in this restaurant and we thought it was very good, they served us very well, they were always making sure we didnt miss anything. The food was good and tasted good. My husband and I ordered a cheese dip with spinach, hamburger and. A good steak, the atmosphere is calm.

The food and drinks were great. They were very accommodating. Our reservation of 6 was for 1:30, even though they closed at 2. They didnt try to rush us out. The server was attentative and patient with us while we were ordering. The drinks and food came out in a timely fashion, and we really enjoyed our time.

Nice restaurant gets busy quick, make a reservation so you dont have to wait. Found out on Sunday that they only do the brunch menu, appetizer, soup, and salad. Mother in law was really looking forward to the pasta dish. Food was pretty good and attentive staff.

The reviews of this bistro have been great and I must say they didnt lie. My wife and I went to try Texas Bistro out and we were not disappointed. The ribeye steak with buttered crab was delicious(pricey but steak is these days). My wife had the chicken fried chicken and it was delicious as well. I would say probably the only thing I would add is some warm rolls of some sort to round out the meal. We tried the Key Lime pie, it was very good as well. It is sourced from a bakery in San Antonio. If you like your Key Lime to be slightly tart with a mildly sweet punch afterward this is the one. The atmosphere is quaint and upscale, great place for adults on date brunch or date night. Quiet and cozy in a way. We will definitely go back.

Easy to make a reservation for a large group. Nice variety on the menu. Loved the spinach and artichoke dip. Only a few veggie options. It is rather loud and the chairs are wood with no padding.

Unfortunately, the food did not live up to the hype. Some was good (stuffed poblano, linguine with citrus sauce), some was not (buttermilk chicken breast). Pecan crusted brie and strawberry fields salad were excellent. Place was about half full, but food service for four took over an hour. Will probably try one more time but not when we are hungry. Excellent service and the food is amazing! Very accommodating for food sensitive guests. Addition 5/23/23: mentioned to the owner once it would be nice if they had gluten free pasta. A week later they did! Not on the menu & not always available (because I tend to order it a lot), but so good! The pic is just what I couldnt eat because it was so much. Dietary restrictions: Very accommodating for food intolerances!

Unorganized. The girl at the front only wanted to play on her phone in the drawer. Then she turned over her left shoulder and sneezed right on all of the silverware. I dont understand why baskets of silverware are by the front door anyway. A waiter came and wrapped the silverware and proceeded to seat people with the silverware that was just contaminated. Food is edible but not worth the price. The place would be nice if there was some type of management that walked around and checked on guests that had been waiting for 45 min to an hour.
