Be aware that they will overcharge and are stealing from the customer. I was charged $13.99 for a childs hamburger and an additional $4 for my 4 YEAR OLDS sprite. Thats $17.99 for a KIDS MEAL. The online menu says the childs burger is $8.99. On top of that, the server added automatic gratuity to my tab, and it was 4 adults and 1 child. She didnt even mention it was added. The tip is not the issue. This place lacks integrity. I was visiting from San Antonio and I do not recommend nor would I ever go again. Check your receipts before you pay and leave.

Just writing my review so any time anyone who wants to enjoy their children s birthday event or any celebration!! Decides to go somewhere else! We paid almost $370 , no servers attended the table we ran out of drinks ,tortillas and still no service ,,,and we just decide to give up, when we spoke to manager all he did is give us excuses and say nothing he can do , they were charging 15%tip total in each bill was about $18 bucks and finally some bills had $13 tip added to bill. it wasnt even full!! No one 1 in restaurant! To be even excused that they were busy, We arrived around 7ish and they wouldnt give us a table until guests arrived,and when the guests started to arrive got upset because we had unexpected guests and we needed more chairs eventually we realized we were about the only tables without services, we just asked for a bill and requested the manager to fix our bills. According to our service we felt we were whom should decide how much to tip. ohh and He did nothing to fix it or help with the situation !! We were threatened with cops being called! For not paying the added tip! LAST TIME WE WILL HAVE DINNER , FOOD, or anything at this place!

I went with a friend and the service is real rubbish, zero attention and although very friendly, the man spent more time talking than serving us, there was no one in the place and even so he didnt give us a table... after telling us from afar where We wanted and gave us the menu we asked for some tortilla soups, a molcajete with nopal and some enchiladas in pipian... the waiter said that there was only green pipian, I ended up changing it for some enchiladas in adobo... There were flies in the place, not one. Several flies, if there are no people at least they should be killed... very uncomfortable to be there shooing flies from the place... the food arrived and nothing to see, the enchiladas were disgusting and had no marinade, they were just red, very tasteless without flavor. We ordered 2 mojitos and 2 margaritas... the drinks were good, although very overpriced for what it is, when ordering the total they charged us the 18% gratuity already included in the bill... On the menu it said that tables of 6 people or But they charge 18%, but there were only 2 of us. In short, the prices are excessive, I ended up paying $138 dollars for a very bad meal. Some very tasteless enchiladas with a very ordinary cheese and the tortilla soup was inedible, it came boiling and you can see that they make it with knor powder... very disgusting. For the amount of money, better go to Texas de Brazil, Pappadeaux, Yard House or some other that cost the same but have much better service and food. Im not against paying for good food and good service, but this was not only disappointing but also unpleasant, I felt ripped off, trapped.

The one drawback is that this location is small for their demand. The live music was superb with a diverse selection (Spanish, English, grupero, pop, etc) and entertaining musicians. Their food, although pricey, was above average. Hopefully, they maintain their quality and stay in business for many years to come. Parking: If parking is not available in front of the building, there is more parking across the street.

I really wanted to rate this place higher. Fajitas are good, two seafood plates we got were nothing to write home about. Our server was attentive and nice. This place is usually busy and I think it has more to do with location than anything. Food is way overpriced for what you get. And lastly they force you to tip 18% no matter the size of your party. Based on friends recommendations, I visited this place on a Thursday. They had live music, which is fine, but not even the waitress could hear what you were ordering because the music was too loud. Imagine its date night and you are 5 hours from your favorite authentic Mexican food restaurant. So with GPS and a prayer we stumbled upon this McAllen Jewel! The interior was so beautiful and romantic. The food was so fresh you could taste the tomatillo in the suizas. The $17 Miñonesa de Pollo plate was the worst chicken plate Ive ever had in my life. I thought it was the mushroom and gravy that had such a foul sour taste, but when I tried cutting into the chicken I realized it was black and charred, completely inedible. I dont understand how this got past any quality check, maybe they dont conduct those here. I told the waitress about the food quality but was ignored and nothing happened. I later called over the phone to inform them of the bad food I experienced. They were very uninterested and rudely hung up on me. They didnt want to hear any feedback from a paying customer. I had the worst experience witnessing a lady trying to cancel her order yesterday after a few mins after ordering. The manager and waitress made a huge scene demanding for the lady to pay her food. Negative: My family and I (4) went on a Saturday because it was said there was live music, it was 8pm and no one was there yet. That they charge you 18% of tip from 100 dollars, it seems absurd to me, for 4 times the waiter came, and how long it took them to charge. So it is better to ask for separate accounts, so that they can give the tip they want according to the service and people. So that they know their laws, it is not mandatory to pay tip, it is obviously recommended. It has become a battle restaurant, years ago, the atmosphere was with people who took their time getting ready, now as they go, in crocks, and flip flops, gym sports like any other Mexican restaurant. The micheladas are prepared super basic, Im used to them putting some olives or shrimp inside, a little more spice. We asked for two starters, and he brought us the starters and 5 minutes later the main dishes?!! That really bothered me... out of common sense, its called starters! We had to eat the starters quickly and continue with the main course before it got cold. We didnt even enjoy the starters... The chicken mignon, the vegetables had more flavor than the same chicken with mushrooms, the bacon that came didnt taste like anything and wasnt crunchy, it came in a mushroom sauce, it was more mushrooms than sauce. Positive: The molcajetes are delicious, but the sea and land only brings 4 shrimp. The enmoladas are delicious but spicy, for those who dont eat spicy. The sweetbreads with chimichurri are also delicious The place is modernized, it is beautiful, what I liked about this place were its phrases on the wall. I honestly dont think Ill go again, the tip thing bothered us, imagine spending $500 and the tip you have to give $90dlls? Its not gourmet food either. There is that type of food in any other Mexican restaurant (which we will better go to next time) Most people spend 18 to 25 dollars per dish

My husband and I went in looking for some soup since I was craving that today (at 30 weeks pregnant ). March 22/2023 the service was terrible, the waitress had no support, we had a big table, the water is from the tap the lemonade tasted horrible, the radio music was super loud and loud the other waiters talking at the bar I DO NOT RECOMMEND IT.

We attended a group of 12 people having dinner, unfortunately the waitress we had had a very bad attitude and did not have support from any other waiter, her answers to our questions about the menu were very forced and bad, the food was good, nothing extraordinary except Of the black beans that are delicious, the water they serve has an unpleasant taste even in the lemonade, the mango pina colada is not natural fruit. They charged our account 18% for being a large group, which is perfect when the service is good, although on this occasion it didnt even deserve 10%. The redeeming thing about the night was that we were celebrating 2 birthdays of the month, he asked us for identification and told us that it had to be the day of our birthday so that they could celebrate us and that it did not apply; In the end he changed his mind, gave us a dessert and they sang happy birthday to us. Based on this experience I do not recommend it and will not return, there is better Mexican food in the area, with better atmosphere and service.

The Chicken Fajitas here are so delicious! I asked for no mushrooms and had them add shredded cheese with a side of sour cream. I prefer flour tortillas for my fajitas and these tortillas taste homemade to perfection. The juicy grilled chicken has a very fresh taste. The seasoning is just right. The caramelized onions & bell peppers oh my I couldn t make better chicken fajitas if I tried. These might be the best I ve ever had. Miranda is very kind & helpful. She made us feel so welcomed. She was quick, patient, and attentive. She really added to such a great experience

I would not recommend this place! Food was bad service was bad!!! PLUS there was 5 of us and we had to pay 18% gratitude for such bad service. I always tip but to force it on me is a no, no!!! Especially when i have to call server 2 times to bring me food. I WILL NEVER GO BACK OR RECOMMEND THIS NASTY PLACE!!!

Excellent service! The food was great as well as the festive atmosphere! The live band was very entertaining! The manager on duty (Alfredo) made sure that our experience was exceptional! If you are looking for a place with live music and delicious food open late El Callejón de Los Milagros in McAllen is definitely the place!

Well,my friends another unbiased review and dont take my review seriously, but use your judgement,your old enough to do so. The place itself has a very nice ambience and old Mexico style feel to it. We had dinner here New Years day and had about 12 family members, so everyone ordered different plates and Ill just say I tried them all and wasnt impressed one bit,enough said.

The food is delicious, but our waiter was terrible. It took him about 20-30 minutes just to bring me my drink because he forgot. He also forgot to bring my friend s husband his drink. He was nowhere to be found during that time. He brings my friends their food and one of our items, and he proceeds to disappear for another 20 minutes. When I ask him where the rest of our food is, he tells me he s been busy and forgot to put the order in. He asked if I still wanted it (I was starving, of course I did), and he then disappeared again. I was only able to have one drink the entire night because of how often he was nowhere to be found. I didn t even get his name, but it was a bad experience for us. This was on a Wednesday, and there was a lot of empty tables. I don t understand how he could say he forgot so much when I clearly saw him writing everything down. The worst part was that there were only four of us on the table, and he went and added his own tip to the tab. We were still going to tip because we re not those type of people, but that definitely made things worse. As much as I love the food, I don t think I could return based on this experience alone.
