Ive tried several liquor stores in North Dallas, including Total Wine, Specs, Siegels, Empire Liquors, and others. Empire Liquor is my go-to because of their selection and Matt. Empire is a smaller liquor store, but they have a great choice. Ive looked into their tequilas and whiskeys, and they have a great selection that goes beyond most other liquor stores. Total Wine does have a much more extensive selection (probably the biggest of all the liquor stores in Dallas). But Total Wine has often tried to direct me away from highly rated tequilas and whiskeys towards their brands. I dont trust their recommendations, and it rubs me the wrong way that they push their brand over other highly rated brands. Thats where Empire sets itself apart with the honesty and knowledge of its sales staff. Matt, in particular, has been a wealth of knowledge. Ive let him know what type of liquor I like (ryes and tequilas), and he always shows several different brands and talks about how theyre different. Ive followed his recommendations and hes not steered me wrong yet. My wife was impressed with the Respodo tequila he recommended. This is why the Empire Liquor store is now the only place I go for tequilas and whiskeys.

If you want something he doesnt have, tell him(the owner) and give him ~2 weeks, then come back for it and give him a nice tip, if he can do that he definitely deserves it. Regardless, I was honestly very impressed with the selection and will definitely make this my primary liquor store in the Area

There is something special about walking into a store, being greeted and welcomed in and having someone very knowledgeable help you out. I suck at remembering names, but the guy working there was amazing. For a small location had a great selection and some uncommon whiskies. Also good selection of some of the great Texas whiskey distilleries! I will be back once again as soon as its time to go on another Scotch hunt!

Empire liquor is definitely my new go-to for liquor, especially when it comes to Bourbon. The selection is definitely superior to most of the other stores in the area, and has an impressive amount of barrel picks, not to mention all from great distilleries. Robin helped me out today, and she was extremely helpful and knowledgeable - I came in for one bottle, left with 3, and have zero regrets. I highly recommend checking this place out if you haven t been in before!

This is of the best liquor stores in DFW (and probably the state) and definitely a must-stop for whiskey lovers. Their bourbon selection is fantastic, and they have an impressive assortment of store/barrel picks. Bobby really knows what he is doing! They also have a location in Plano if that is closer. I highly recommend this place, and if you love whiskey, I promise you will be impressed.
