We stopped in while visiting family and this has to be one of my favorite game stores Ive ever been in. I was impressed by the space available to play games and the selection of board games was impressive-even giving online stores a run for the money. I saw board games and expansions I didnt know existed. While I dont live in Lubbock, Im jealous of the store and play area available to those who want to game. The staff was beyond friendly and answered my questions and even answered all of my sons questions. Ill be back when Im in town again.

This is THE perfect gaming store. They have nearly everything. Awesome selection of minis for painting, awesome selection of painting tools, plenty of dice sets, bulk loose dice organized by type, a wall of RPG rule books sorted alphabetically by system, another wall of used products for resale, a giant wall of board and card games, and then the rest of the store lined with minis. They have a library of board/card games you can play, and roughly 100 different tables for playing at, with enough floor space that nothing feels crowded. While I was there, the store had three different card game tournaments going simultaneously, each with about 10-15 participants each, and the place did not feel crowded. I wish this store was at my hometown.

I love this shop. All of my friends there have become like family and the staff is super nice and helpful. They have so many options for everything. This is my go to for board games and magic the gathering stuff. They also have the paints for miniatures I like so its really nice to be able to get everything I need. The community here is the best Ive been around in Lubbock so this is my home for MTG.

Coolest place in town. They have D And D campaigns, and magic the gathering sessions every week plus many other games I dont know. You can bring a group and go play games for free and they have dozens and dozens of new and neat board games for free to play. They can special order stuff for you and they are very comparable in price if not cheaper than online. Its a great place to socialize on Wednesday and Friday after 6. Its a welcoming atmosphere. This is one of the best game stores I have ever been to. He prices the games at MSRP but then he pays the sales tax, so what you see on the sticker is what you pay. Also such a huge area for Yu-Gi-Oh, Magic, and Pokémon tournaments. Or just bring your game and sit to play with your friends. One of my favorite places in Lubbock.

Great selection of stuff! Ill probably keep going there from time to time, but I wish the service was better. I went two days in a row and dropped 150 dollars, but the owner didnt even seem to care. If the service had been better, this would probably be my one stop shop. Seems that it wasnt, Ill probably still do the majority of my shopping online. I never understand local businesses that arent friendly. Youre charging more than Amazon and Target (I understand why completely, you cant stay in business charging below retail on most of this stuff), but if youre going to get my business, you have to be friendly.

This is a large shop to go into and they have a wide variety of table top games, board games, dice, and miniatures. Everything my partner and I purchased seemed fairly priced. Though, the one staff member that was there seemed slightly unenthusiastic about doing his job and more interested in playing MTG. Love Hatters. It has plenty of space and is always a good place for FNM. Also has a great selection of board games. If you wander around a bit, I am sure something will catch your eye. I saw a good sized RPG group, Magic, Yu-Gi-Oh, and a board game all going on at the same time. There is good parking as well and the bathroom was large enough for the facility. Often game stores dont have enough toilets for larger groups. If your in Lubbock go by and check it out.

Ive been going to Hatters for a few years now. The staff is kind and knowledgeable and I often see them even playing games with other customers when the shop isnt too busy. It creates a wonderfully inviting environment. Theres tons of places to sit and play games with a friend or large group without feeling like youre in the way of other customers. Theyve somewhat recently started filling out a side room with more product, making an already big store seem giant. Even being a longtime patron, Im in awe almost every time I go and always find something new. If I have trouble finding something, staff is always happy to help or make recommendations. Its not unusual for customers to spend hours here; pre-pandemic, Id come nearly every weekend for 5-6 hours at a time just to play cards or work on something for a TTRPG. Its rarely too noisy to get into the zone and just work on stuff and staff has never made us feel bad for not buying anything. Theyll even come over and chat with us about what were working on and seem very genuine. The inviting atmosphere even encourages other patrons to come around and start chatting. This really is an amazing place to come by yourself, with friends and to make friends. Im looking forward to many more years of patronage and much more frequent trips once vaccinations are widespread.

I grew up with mad hatters House of games through the different owners over the years and somehow they have stood the test of time and are in Even build bigger building than they were in previous store ownerships! This isnt always will be the place to go in Lubbock Texas and Central located near Buddy Holly easily the best place to come to family friendly with plenty of space for social distancing during covid. Mad hatters has been there as a place for me my friends and family to hang out over the last two decades and then some. Before covid they were regularly hosting some of the largest tournaments for Yu-Gi-Oh and tournaments for sanction play for man city as well as other various card games. And the largest selection of board games in all of a 6-hour radius of West Texas easily. hatter has a heart for people and is one of those exceptional people who comes in and brings positive energy to the entire building and as the owner exceptional leadership even during these tough times of isolation. highly recommend them as deep place to visit if youre ever passing through Lubbock Texas you will not be disappointed!

Wow! This was worth the trip to Lubbock. They are really strong in their supplies of boardgames and very good in the collection of role-playing games. Dice are my weakness and they had plenty. I had to be very good or I would have brought home even more. Where this store excels is on the room for gaming. There is plenty of room to practice social distancing and still have many groups there. We didnt go upstairs, but there are even more gaming tables on that level. Yes, we will be coming back here on a regular basis.

Excellent selection of D&D (Dungeons and Dragons) books, minis, and dice. There were many other games too. Prices are pretty standard. Friendly employees who take the time to look you in the eye and smile. There was a Magic get-together going on and it appears that the local community really loves and supports this shop. Really happy to see a store respect their customers and encourage self determination regarding 2020 protocols, without demanding it from anyone. Stopped in here last week on a whim. Was not expecting to find this absolute jewel of a card and game shop. If you need Magic, Pokemon or any other card game packs this is the place to go. Sleeves, storage boxes and binders galore. Dont even get me started on the polyhedral dice. They have a literal 6 foot by 4 foot toolbox with every drawer filled with sets and loose dice.
