Swamp Shack in Kemah is wonderful. The food is delicious. Christina, the manager, is the BEST. Our waiter, Roland, was great. We will return. Food, service, & entertainment are exceptional. We come here often. This time we had Melissa, our waitress. She was excellent. She is so efficient. The food is great, as usual. We love Christina, the manager. Thank y all so much. This time, we had Jeanette & Jorge as our servers. They gave excellent service. The food was fabulous. The managers are so sweet & hospitable. The music was great. We always enjoy coming here. We drove by Crazy Alans Swamp Shack at Bay Area and saw a guy displaying sign in front of restaurant saying: Free appetizer with entree. Talk about bait and switch. Once we got inside they would not honor free appetizer even though guy at that very moment was holding the sign right at their front door saying free appetizer with entree. They said the free appetizer could not be used with any specials even though that was not posted on the sign. The manager did not even apologize nor did he give us the free appetizer with our order of 4 shrimp tacos. It appears to me to be false advertisement. That is just wrong and definitely poor customer service. It is not right to get you inside the door and then have exceptions. It should have been posted on the sign that was held up outside. Attached is the picture of the complete sign. I had thought maybe there was small print on the bottom of the sign and I did not see it, but that was not the case. It did not say any exceptions. The Waitress was extremely nice though, just not the manager.

Food was good. Absolutely love the fried mushrooms, fried pickles, fried jalapeños, and onion rings. Husband really loves the seafood enchiladas and stuffed mushrooms with crab cheese appetizer. Our server the first time wasnt upbeat and didnt smile much and didnt seem to enjoy her job as much. The second time we went, the server was a little better but both servers were on top of their stuff which was great.

Drove 45 minutes with the family to come visit the Swamp Shack. Found out about the place from the HRW website. Ordered off the HRW menu and was very satisfied. For a 3 course $39 dollar meal the portion sizes were HUGE. Each course could have been half the size and I would have been satisfied. I look forward to returning in the future. Thank you Ryan.

I ordered from here for the first time with DoorDash. A couple boudain links and a chicken sandwich. All I wanted was mayonnaise on my sandwich instead of mustard and I made a small request for it. Everything was cool at first but then I started getting alerts for a price change. I found this odd because all I asked for was mayonnaise. When I received my order they didnt put the mayo on the on the bread they put it in a small container. The boudain was a little too spicy. I might eat here again but it depends. Hi Crazy Alans Swamp Shack. I just read your reply and its really not important what delivery service brought the food. Its the fact that I was overcharged for mayonnaise. I was at a friends house and he was ordering out. He asked me if I wanted anything and I said yes after hearing a few menu items. I assumed it was DoorDash because they are the most popular.

We stopped in for dinner tonight and we definitely won t be back. We had 4 adults and 6 kids. We sat upstairs and the music was so loud we couldn t have a conversation at the table. We went to Crazy Alan s to wind down and get some food after being on the boardwalk all afternoon. It was not an extremely packed night. There wasn t a wait time for tables inside. The waitress was friendly and helpful at the beginning but as the night progressed it was difficult to find her. One of the adults sat there while everyone else ate because his plate was forgotten about and it was difficult to find our waitress. The kids meals came with a dessert but it was never offered when their plates were cleared. Instead we had to go downstairs to find the waitress and ask if it was going to be included. She responded yeah, but you never asked for it Two of the adults ordered the all you can eat gumbo, shrimp and catfish. The first round was done just right. The next round took a long time to get to the table and it was overcooked and cold. When we received the bill the restaurant added an automatic gratuity because we had a large party most of them were kids. There s too many restaurants in Kemah to waste hard earned money at a mediocre restaurant.

This restaurant was worth the hour drive. The atmosphere makes you feel like you are on vacation, especially when you are sitting in the patio with a nice view of Kemah, all the boats, and the water. I ve been going to the Kemah location since I was a young kid and I absolutely love it. Baybrook isn t my favorite but it s convenient some times. Now that I live in kemah however I m here almost daily. The food is great every single time, the crawfish are amazing I say get them extra spicy g style that s the best way to go. And their drinks are awesome and pretty cheap compared to many of the bars and places around here and in kemah. I highly recommend eating here especially at the main location! Kid-friendliness: Like I said, I ve been coming here since I was a little kid. It s always been my favorite restaurant, id beg my parents to take us!

Food was not great. I do not recommend the seafood pots! We ve come here twice during travels and have been let down both times. Last time there was at least a band. This visit, no live music, even though that website advertised it. The Manager had to get onto staff several times during our visit. It was more like social hour than work. Server was okay but shrugged off our complaints about the food and gave us our ticket to pay. We will visit another restaurant next time we re in Kemah.

First time visiting.. we had a 1/2 dozen oysters on the half shell and shared the Enchiladas of the Sea and a cup of Chex/sausage gumbo.. The food was OUTSTANDING and our server Ryan and his shadow Lauren were excellent! The live music on the patio and sunset was the cherry on top! We love traveling and finding new Food experiences! If you re looking to enjoy good crawfish and a drink keep driving . Atmosphere is cool but service is on the caca side asked if the crawfish was good and my server didn t eat seafood but said everyone likes it . Guessing I m not like everyone . Didn t seem as if it was purged and most of them were dead before they were cooked they just tasted rather rancid. I was eating alone but got up for a moment to use the restroom. And came back to my food gone beer gone etc . Save yourself time unless you re wanting to listen to live music .

We hold an annual corporate event at Crazy Alan s and have done so for over a decade!!! They saved me when an unscrupulous (now defunct) place dumped us at the last moment. CA s is a huge favorite with clients and employees- many of us go for lunch and dinner throughout the year. My family and I celebrated my daughters birthday and Mothers Day. I contacted management ahead of time to arrange accomodations for a party of 22. Ms. Christine Jorgensen was very helpful in setting things up for us. When we arrived the staff was very friendly and seated our party very quickly. Our server was very attentive and pleasant. Wrote this review to give props to the Saturday 5/10 evening singer. Great talent added to the evenings atmosphere and he could sing! As for the dining experience, arrived at 6:30pm for a short 15 minute wait. Started with 1/2 dozen Oysters Rockefeller which arrived lukewarm. Due to the temp they could have used some kick to make them more palatable. Our table had the Weekender Seafood Pot extra spicy (like sit on your gut spicy), Crawfish and a cup of Gumbo, and the All-You-Can-Eat Catfish & Shrimp (3 catfish and 6 shrimp each serving). Everything was tasty but be advised, if you get the all-you-can-eat theres going to be a 15+ minute wait between additional servings on a Saturday night. Last serving came well after the rest of the group was done eating but the experience took a positive spin when our server R. brought the last serving in a to-go box and then a previously submitted serving also arrived. Server R. was good for a Saturday night that appeared short-staffed.

I have been going to this place for quite a while now and realized I ve never left a review. Mollie, Destiny, Jake, Blake, and Cory are such a pleasure when they are bartending. The food is really good and they introduced me to crawfish (at the time was 5.99 a pound until 6pm). I highly recommend trying this place out if you haven t already.

Dont order the burger. It was ordered medium rear. It arrived over cooked ((well done) and cold. The french fries and onion rings were good and were shared with a friend. The bun was huge which made the burger look twice the size. Very little of the burger was eaten. Next time I will order the food that I know the shack does well. Let me think anout what this is.?

First time here. Appetizers: We had the Parmesan oysters and chili cheese fries. The fries were ok, the oysters were raw with melted cheese that was burnt and were overall bland. Meals: cheeseburger (ok), the AYCE fried fish and shrimp (again, just ok), and the boiled shrimp dinner (that was good). The onion rings were good, as was the gumbo. We told our server we wanted to order AFTER we ate our appetizers, but she assured us she wouldnt submit the order until we ate the appetizers. However, we were still working on the appetizers when here came our dinners. We wont be back.

I came here to celebrate my sisters birthday and we had a party of 12 people. We have called ahead to see if they did reservation and they said no but if we called ahead they would accommodate some tables for that many people. We ended up calling 2 hours ahead and once we got there no tables was set aside for a big party like they said. After 30 min of waiting we finally got some tables but after ordering we had to wait 45 mins for the 1st plate to come out and an hour for the first drinks we ordered. Whoa, it looks like Crazy Alans Kemah management got a little too crabby over the crawfish price! They let a rewards member leave instead of honoring the texted price sent out that Friday. I probably would have ordered 3 lbs, so it would have been a whole 3.00 dollar difference. We went to Bakkhas and spent 9.99 a lb. Our bill was 113.00, and the server got a 25 dollar tip. Sometimes, the point of the matter is far more important, geniuses!

Unfortunately the hostesses on Suday were very unpleasant and rude, wouldnt accommodate us with our kids, once they put a table together for us they told us they couldnt give it to us because that server already had too many tables. We had a baby and a stroller and they expected us to carry it upstairs. They were all rude until I asked for them to sit us on the lower level since we had toddlers, and babies. We had 2 from our group that got sick from the Food. Our server was great though.

Service was outstanding and food was very good. The only thing I dont recommend is the crabvocado, it had too much breading and the avocado tastes weird when fried. The frog legs were amazing juicy with on point seasoning, blackened catfish etouffe with gator was amazing fish was perfectly cooked and the veggies were super fresh and the bread pudding were all very delicious. Amazing food and lower prices than most options in the area. However, our waiter felt more like a car salesman. He was constantly promoting the most expensive items on the menu, convincing us to purchase additional drinks, and add on $9 worth of their special sauce. He also convinced us that we needed to order 10 pounds of crawfish, when 2 pounds would have been plenty for us. He claimed that he usually eats 8 pounds of crawfish and that 10 pounds would be a reasonable amount. All he is doing is trying to convince us to order more food, to receive a higher percentage tip. When we received the bill, we noticed that we were charged for 2 cocktail drinks, while only 1 was ordered. When we noticed this and asked him about it, he seemed annoyed that we noticed and tried to keep it on the bill. When eating here, make sure to double check your bill and be ready to confront the employees if something looks incorrect or you are charged for something you didnt order.

Got food wrong three times, the food was so so. The water was good. To update the owner messaged me back so on our 3 pounds of crawfish and three other orders that were all wrong he sent us a $25 gift certificate and said come on back and give us a chance. That wont cover the horrible crawfish let alone the inedible appetizers, soup or other orders. So make sure you bypass this horrible restaurant.

Our visits here are always great! This is definitely my spot for crawfish, its a little more expensive than normal, but thats just the market right now. The staff is always friendly and attentive. If you dont like seafood or mudbugs, they have a really good club sandwich and plenty of other options.

The manager Destiney is extremely unprofessional. She yelled at her employee in front of us at the bar, cursed toward him and loudly belittled him in front of myself and to her other employees. I am not sure whether she was in the right to be upset at him but this does not justify embarrassing him or speaking this way in front of paying customers. I am very disappointed in your management.

This is my husband and is go to spot to eat when we want a good meal and chill atmosphere. The foods always on point the drinks are great and we always get our booth and usually get the same me server who always remembers what we want to drink. And theyre quick about everything. We stopped in here to celebrate a birthday. It turned out to be a great choice. Food and atmosphere were great and the service was top notch. Our waiter, Cullen, went above and beyond to make sure we were well cared for. If we ever make it back that way, we will be sure to stop here.

Delish oysters and blackened gator bites! Lovely medium spice on the seafood feast but they were out of lobster and I was surprised the corn and potatoes were few and far between. We only had three potatoes and small corn halves in the whole boil for 2-4 people and when we ordered more they only brought 2 more potatoes and one more corn half.

The number one reason why we were here is to watch fireworks...and let me tell you , What a great place to watch fireworks without fighting with the crowd. You can watch from upstairs of the restaurant or right across from the restaurant, which is boat docking place. For many years we always stayed home during new years but that would stop now that we find new places to watch for fireworks Food wide, I like the grilled plates with grilled scallops, shrimp and fish. It tastes quite fresh in my options. The dirty rice and shrimp cocktail was good too, a tad spicy but it was good. The sauteed crab finger was disappointed and misleading, it was more like crab finger soaking in creamy pasta sauce. The shrimp boil could also improve, too much butter and not tasty enough ,need more salt Service was slow and could also totally improve. However I gave 4 star because giving the location and their reward incentives, I think its worth to come back. Today was my first time came but I got $30 off from total bill from registering the rewards.
