Food was cold waiter had two one was very friendly one had airpods in and was rude to me and my wife. He wouldnt stop talking on his phone. Food was cold didnt sit at hibachi so many its hot fresh off hibachi but if u get table its cold. Onion soup just tasted like warm water. If u see a waiter with airpods in his ear he is the rude one and wont get off his phone while taking your order

Coworker recommended this was the best Japanese food he had ever eaten was this restaurant. He set the bar pretty high, and boy, was it a disappointment. Typical setting but dated. Previous experiences at Hibachi restaurants were fun and entertaining. Not the case hear and i watched several tables, and it was lacking the show. The chef did little talking and really no show. Food was fair portions but didnt taste that good. Coworkers that went went me and said it tasted burnt. Had a different taste than other hibachi restaurants they had eaten at. We were all in agreement that it was not the best and would not eat there again. It is a once and done for me. My recommendation is to find a different hibachi restaurant before you go here.

Its one of the only places I HIBACHI. Its always clean and semi quiet. The service is A1. The food is good...its just...good. The servings are large...I can never finish. Do not waste your time on any salad...and the rolls are amazing!

I was charged 18% gratuity because I paid for someone elses meal! The lady tried telling me it was their policy when you pay for someone elses meal. I told her no her policy is 5 or more people in a party then it is required to pay gratuity. With paying for another meal it was only 3 people. Its absolutely crazy that you get charged for being nice and paying for someone elses meal. Oh and watch out for one of the female waitresses because she believes tips are required and will wait beside you until she gets a tip she feels she deserves. She also chased my daughter down for a tip. (No tip was left at that time because they couldnt get service until it was time to pay the bill) I used to love this place but they are doing shady business now so beware!!!

I was not greeted at walk in, I had to wait. The person that sat is was not speaking English and spoke to everyone else but me. Very rude. The chef could barely speak English, had a heavy Asian accent. Food was amazing! Loved the taste of the food! The show the chef gave was very minimal, I went there specially for the experience at the table. For the amount of food and money I spent, I would of perfered to have table to myself with my girl. Id come back for food, but not anytime soon. Only person that saved the night was our waiter. I tipped him very well for being so attentive and caring despite that he was the only one for the entire restaurant. Hes great!

This place was nasty, dirty bar, rude bartender, must be the owner s daughter or son idk. But service was terrible , I see why it was empty in there . Dishes left from the last customer 30 min ago were still left there not being cleaned up. The bar is what really tipped me over with her unpleasant service, very rude. The manager ran outside after us and begged us not to leave. Offered a free drink, I will not take a free drink for a bad service.

I ve been going here for about about five years and the food has changed. It s not as flavorful as it used to be. I had a mai tai that was very watered down. It tastes as though there was absolutely no alcohol in it. Worst part of the night was a roach crawled across the table after the chef left. I informed the manager and she said they had sprayed the night before and I guess that was the reason for the roach activity, but I was disgusted and I immediately paid my bill and left. She didn t even offer to take something off my bill. It was my birthday and it was ruined by a disgusting roach. I will not be returning.

Came in for lunch. Didn t opt to sit at the hibachi as I didn t want to go back to the office smelling like stir fry. Ordered the chicken teriyaki. We made a reservation for 16 people for hibachi two days in advance. Got to the restaurant, we ended up with 14 instead of 16, still requiring two hibachi tables. We were sat, servers were not told we were a single party, so we had two servers working separately which made time of payment a complete disaster. Before that, table 1 was brought out soup/salad at least 15 minutes before our 2nd table. Chef comes and there is only one, instead of two working simultaneously. This lead to table 2 not getting their meals until 30 minutes after table 1 was finished eating, RIDICULOUS! The server for table 2 brought drinks, soups and salads then completely disappeared. Table 2 had to flag down server 1 over and again because they had 0 service. To be clear, our chef was amazing, he did exactly what he needed to and what he could. The food was mediocre at best. Time to pay, every time we tried to explain to server one that we had meals at both tables she kept telling us later until I made it explicitly clear we were ready to leave. Finally, what I m assuming is a manager came to help server 1 but still only gave us tickets for table 1. The illusion server 2 finally came over to bring checks and was incredibly rude when we tried to explain we wanted checks for both tables split according to people on the ticket and not the tables. Never once did they ask if we were a whole party, never did they ask if we were on split checks. This was my son s 16th birthday dinner and it was beyond a disaster. The lack of effort by management to accommodate a large party even though it was a reservation made in advance is poor business. Will never return to this establishment and highly suggest you go to shogun if you have a large party!

Do not buy sushi from here. No exaggeration, the worse sushi I have ever had. I mean I have never had sushi that tasted just flat out cheap, yet charging the same prices the nicer places charge. The steak was similiar just cheap tasting, like something they bought at Walmart. The service and atmosphere was decent, not great, but I got to give the service a 2 after discovering the glass my sister was drinking out of was broken all at the bottom. Love this place! Weve been HB customers for almost 20 years and went again last night for our anniversary. Excellent service by our outstanding server Bing Bing and cook Nguyen. Personally this is my favorite asian cuisine spot if youre willing to spend 100 bucks or so. Not a huge fan of sushi but trying to branch out and this place has yet to disappoint. Giving this a three star only because the actual food here is really good. Unfortunately that s about it. The hibachi chef sputtered burning oil all over my girlfriends arm 3 times during the show which was actually not engaging or fun, he was not into it that night and it showed. Honestly we re lucky it didn t get on our clothes cause we had on nice outfits and would have been really upset if they got stained. When being seated we were rushed into our table where another party was in the middle of ordering and it felt a big pressure to order quick. The way the hibachi was served was so slow certain parts of the food were getting cold while other parts were hot as it was coming out. By the time he cooked the vegetables for the hibachi I was half done with my rice and proteins. One of the waiters tried to be funny and lift the mood up a bit but it was such a weird energy. We talked to a couple next to us who also told us every time they come something weird happens and they won t be coming back either. Maybe I would order out from this place because the food itself is super tasty but I will definitely not be coming back for the service.

When we have family in from out of town we bring them here for a fun dinner. Our granddaughters always end up laughing when the cook surprises them with some trick. The food was top-notch, and the chef was amazing. The atmosphere was good. It had a very authentic Japanese feel to the restaurant. However, it was expensive. 80 dollars for a party of two. And I ended up having to grab my own to-go boxes from where they were on display, available for whoever needed one. Waiting for the table to fill up with other guests wasnt great, given that the chef didnt start cooking until the table filled up. We waited nearly 30 minutes for the table to have 8 people with everyone having ordered. Parking: The restaurant is located in a strip mall so there is always plenty of parking. I ordered chicken hibachi to go. Get home no chicken. Go back to the restaurant and they put crumbling of chicken. For twenty bucks. Maybe because I am black. Dont order to go.... Waist of money

If you want to have a delicious and healthy freshly cooked in front of you Japanese dinner, thats the place. Each table will have a cooking show. Great for a date as well

It is the best and very good hibachi restaurant in Houston. The restaurant has great service, cool food tricks, and my favorite ice cream. The service is very good and I didnt have to wait long. I ordered chicken fried rice with shrimp and steak. The food was tasty and delicious. I recommend the surf and turf, and sorbet.

I havent been here for at least 13 years due to the bad reviews. I missed out . I am not super easy to please but the waitress was on top of her game , the Hibachi chef was fun and talented and the food tasty. Will be back soon for sure !

Had the lunch special. Rice was absolutely perfect...as usual! Steak was overdone and a little chewy. Shrimp was heavenly! Chatter and interaction was less than before, but cooking tricks and demonstrations were standard. Nothing that would keep me from returning, just lower bar than dinner service. This is the best Japanese restaurant in the world, at least of the many states have traveled in this world.:-) in the US that is as I have no desire to travel outside of the US. So its the greatest Japanese restaurant in the US:-) everything on their menu is fabulous, their service is great, I cant say enough great things about this place. And their fried rice is a meal all of itself. It is the best fried rice in my world
