This place was WILDly GOOood ! when i came here last year. Me and my husband had the BEST STEAKS, truffle fries and ALL the food was just phenomenal ! i know its closed now for renovations BUT, im excited to come back when they open back uuup! And i hope the food is still good.

Excellence in service still exists! Im not going to go into too many details. Well designed and managed ambiance, perfect servers, world class food preparation. The whole experience made us very happy. Trying hard to find something negative, pulling at straws: the chairs could be a little better. If you stay at Gaylord Texan or in the vicinity, do not skip this luxurious dining occasion.

Me and my wife went for our wedding anniversary. The food was amazing. I got the sea bass and came with Wasabi potatoes. Amazing dish. My wife got the lobster risotto she enjoyed it. We also shared a millionares baked potato and was also amazing. The drinks werent the best but everything else was great. They also gave us a complementary desert which was also delicious.

Food is delicious the atmosphere is perfect for a romantic night and the service is beyond great. My boyfriend and I came here for Christmas and we liked it so much we came for Valentine s Day weekend and it was amazing, we ordered the lamb rack, 8 oz filet mignon and table sides of lobster Mac and cheese and truffle fries. You truly can t go wrong! Drinks were amazing too. Shout out to our waiter Brett with his excellent service and kindness! 10/10! Recommending to all my friends and family.

Took my wife here for our anniversary. The valet staff was so kind in keeping our G63 in the front for safe keeping. Although a maze to find inside, the ambiance of the restaurant was very elegant. My two teens and I went last night and had a FABULOUS experience. The food was incredible, everything we had - the steaks, the sides, the creme brulee. Since it was Christmas (or maybe regularly? I dont know of course) they had a wonderful singer and piano player singing Christmas songs. The whole restaurant is so classy and elegant. You definitely escape the crazy busy-ness of the resort upstairs as you descend into this quiet, gorgeous space. Our beautiful and jofyul server treated us just as wonderfully as if we were a large party of six spending much more than we did, which I appreciated so much. It really was an outstanding experience. Vegetarian options: I had the mushroom and pea risotto which was just as divine as the childrens steaks.

Restaurant is too dark. Everyone including the staff had to use a flash light to read anything. The food was ok but Most of all, I felt profiled. I was given a food voucher from my company which was hosting a Christmas party at the resort for the wknd. The voucher covered about 1/3 of the cost of my meal, when I presented the voucher it was questioned and passed to about 4 people before they asked me to prove who I was and show them some supporting documents. It was eventually accepted but not before my family and I was totally embarrassed. Being a person who earns over 175K a year, i can afford any meal on my own. I still left a $35 tip for the waiter on top of the rest of the $175 tab But Im glad I dont live in the state because I would never return to Old Hickory

This double cut pork chop was out of this world amazing. I also had the brussel sprouts and spicy creamed corn which were both delicious as well. Lou was awesome with everything we asked of him. Compliments to the chef though for that sauce on the chop. It was a Sunday night and so atmosphere was a bit on the dull side but decor was all Xmasd out. Kid-friendliness: Theres a kids menu.

This year we came back for our 16th anniversary. We make it a tradition to eat here for our staycation. Weve had the pleasure of having Bihn as our server multiple times. Hes fabulous and very attentive. The whole staff is on top of everything. The food melted in our mouths and was cooked to perfection. The mixed drinks were delicious. Its a very intimate atmosphere. Cannot recommend it enough!

Our servers were exceptional! Kind and knowledgeable staff. We let the host know about a disability and that we would need accommodations and he was extremely flexible and understanding. Reservations recommend! This steakhouse is located downstairs near the Lone Star rooms. Very well decorated and low lit setting with respectful service. The food was absolutely delicious. They start you off with cheese filled buttery bread that melts in your mouth. I tried the NY strip steak and it was perfectly cooked to medium rare. I definitely loved the mac n cheese that came with chunks of lobster. I liked the creme brulee as it was creamy and well balanced, but it needed to be torched more to get the caramelization color from the sugar.

Upscale steakhouse located within The Gaylord Texan Resort. Reservation recommended. Smoked Old fashioned good but pretty pricey at $22. Truffle fries $16, amazing. Very disappointed in the service at this steakhouse. Was told bread and tea was coming to the table, then had to ask for it. Was told they could add tomatoes to our salad, then had to ask for them. What a fantastic experience with great food! Ive been a guest at the Gaylord a few times and this time a friend and I decided to try the steakhouse. We at first felt a little awkward walking in wearing shorts and t shirts, as this is definitely an upscale environment. But, because its in the hotel they are forgiving and the staff didnt treat us any differently than the more well dressed guests. I ordered the NY strip and mac n cheese, and it did not disappoint. I did get the truffle butter on the steak as well, and I definitely recommend that. My friend ordered the 8 course chefs choice meal, and that was one heck of an experience. The only aspect I wasnt crazy about is the decor. Its made to feel like youre in a wine cellar, and it just felt too dark and too much like a basement to me. This is on par with any higher end steak house that Ive ever eaten at, and expect to spend $75-100 per person.

Had the opportunity to experience Old Hickory for a work dinner with 5 other colleagues on Jun 19 23. The atmosphere and overall experience was good, but stretched to 3+ hours do to some slower service. The Old Fashioneds were top notch, but the apps (Salmon & Spanish Octopus) were a bit to be desired (promoted heavily, but lacking in flavor). Our dinner (Bone in Filet, Strip. Lobster Mac & Seabass) was excellent and cooked perfect. Whiskey Chocolate Mousse to end the night was out of this world. Overall we had a good experience. Service was good and fast, food tasted great. However there were limited options on the menu and the lowest entree price was around 35$ without any sides. Each side is about $12 on top of your dish price. Kids options were fine and priced okay. If you are looking for a burger, this is not the place for you. Try their Barrel aged old fashioned, you will not regret it. Kid-friendliness: Plenty of options for your little ones. Wheelchair accessibility: There is an elevator to get to the main dining area, with enough room to maneuver between the tables.

Stopped in the adjoining top-level cocktail lounge for Drinks ONLY: Fantastic ambiance and great stock of bourbon spirits. Definitely pricey! Depending on what you call-brand. The average socktail starts around $20.00 and up. My Old Fashioned with Bullett Rye was $26.00. However, it was made perfectly with just the right amount of demerara and combination of bitters. The pricing allows for a smaller crowd and when there are events (conventions) at the resort while the other cocktail lounges get crowded you can probably get a quick drink here! Service was outstanding! Just remember where you are at.

This place is amazing! This was my first time visiting and Im glad we chose to eat here. I would say get here early if you dont have a reservation because it will get packed quickly. The host and hostess were great and accommodating and answering my questions. Our waitresses were very knowledgeable and her recommendations were spot on. My wife had the awesome Strauss Farm Lamb Chops and I had the Wild Mushroom and English Peas Risotto. We shared the House Made Charcuterie Board and a dessert that looked like a donut that wasnt a donut. The atmosphere was great and I think we had the best seats in the house. We sat near the bar in the nice big chairs. I would be back here and I recommend this place to anyone.

Spectacular! Yes, it s pricey. I knew before I ordered, so no complaint there. Service was excellent. I had field greens salad, filet w/peppercorn sauce and carrots. The filet was cooked perfectly as requested (med rare +) sauce was so yummy, carrots were seasoned with an aroma as divine as it tasted and the field greens was so good I went back for it the next day. 2nd day added mushrooms that I oh so good. Great experience.

Went with family in town. Had never been to Gaylord at all even though weve lived in Grapevine for a few years now. This experience at Old Hickory Steakhouse was excellent. One of the more delicious steaks Ive had in the area. Not over salted like in many other steakhouses in the area... so I was able to truly enjoy the beautiful taste of the steak. My wife had the Sea Bass and she said it was possibly the best piece of fish shes ever had at a restaurant. We will be back and I will be trying one of the aged steaks and my wife will be enjoying the Sea Bass again because she cant stop thinking or talking about it.

Our server John was absolutely fantastic. We sat in the wine cellar, which was a very pleasant surprise. John made suggestions, which we tried all of, and each did not disappoint. John was very professional and attentive and the rest of the crew was also very attentive to our needs without being obtrusive. I thought that the way the other staff came in and out of the room for wine was well handled and not a distraction. Our guests really enjoyed the meal as well. Great great great dining experience, I cant wait till our next visit.

Our entire experience was exceptional. We initially went into the restaurant just for some drinks, but when we saw the menu, we asked if the restaurant could make availability for us. Being Valentines weekend, they were pretty busy, but they made a table available for us anyway. Everything I had there was so amazing that I repeatedly found myself saying This is the best...(fill in the blank)...Ive ever had. It was the best lobster bisque Id ever had, the best caesar salad Ive ever had, and the best lobster risotto that Ive ever had. Everything was Heaven on a plate. If that werent enough, one of the managers who knew we were recently married and still on our honeymoon arranged for us to order 2 complimentary desserts and 2 complimentary glasses of champagne. We were so touched by the gesture, and it made us feel really special. We will most-definitely be back!!!

My husband and I had one of the greatest experiences we had in our travel adventures. Everybody was friendly and attentive to details. When we told them the occasion of our visit was our anniversary they were so receptive and warm greating us with a glass of champagne for the cheer. The meal was exactly the same amazing meal Adam passionately described how was going to be. Dima Alami show up at our table with this big smile and made sure we were well -taking care of. A great piano player to enlight our evening and for our surprise and delight we get in our room and this treat was eating in our room with a cute note from Adam & Dima. Old hickory, congratulations on your team. you definitely hire the best human being,thriving excellent wit a human kind because, at the end thats what counts. I was waiting to be sat at a table for my reservation, I was sent to the bar and was greeted by William and Latoya. William told told me that I could dine and get full service at the bar and told me he would give me just as good of service if not better service at the bar and he was definitely right. Him and Latoya gave me one of the best experiences at a restaurant that I have ever had. Walked me through the menu and answered every question I did, and didn t have. I had excellent service as soon as I walked down with Jerome. I was waited on by Vilas an excellent server. On the food my main course was the Sea bass they have an Asian BBQ miso twist to it and it was incredible! The lobster bisque and epicurean farm fields greens salad were my appetizers and they hit the spot a smooth soup with crisp veggies. I was I unfortunately dissatisfied with the sides I had the charred broccoli and carrots and It it had zero char or crisp to eat. It was like eating another salad. The crème corn was good but not the best I have had. Killens in Pearland is still the best best crème corn in Texas. Overall a great choice in dinning if you are staying at the Gaylord.

I have tried all the sit down dining options at the Gaylod Texan, and this is def my family and I s favorite! The starting bread was great and everyone was satisfied with their meal! They ask very detailed questions on how you would like your meat,chicken,seafood cooked to ensure its to your liking. This was my first time ever visiting Hickory Steakhouse, very interesting place. There is a Whiskey Bar above the restaurant, very upscale looking place, however, the service was lacking. No one even asked to help us. My Girlfriend and I had just finished a wonderful spa day at Relâche Spa & Salon at the Gaylord Convention Center where the Old Hickory Steakhouse restaurant is located. There is an elevator and a flight of stairs that lead to the Old Hickory Steakhouse downstairs. When we arrived the hostess had not started seating patrons yet. We were third in line. It took us about 35 minutes to get seated, not a big deal because the atmosphere was beautiful. Our waiter seemed nice but it was his helper that made me feel better, about the mistakes to come. I have never had a $100.00 (see picture of the first steak) Steak before, I ordered mine medium well, it came more bloody then it should have. No problem, they replaced it without question. We ordered the lobster mac and cheese, and received, warm mac and cheese with no lobster. No Problem, again they replaced it with what we ordered. The food was awesome, but for $285.00 there should have never been any mistakes, especially ones that I had to wait for corrections to be made. I also want to let you guys know that we did not have Reservations. I say this so you can remember to make your reservations before coming. Also, do not forget to have them stamp your parking ticket. Dietary restrictions: They will make food based on your Dietary restrictions. Parking: This is the Gaylord Convention Center, there is parking. Kid-friendliness: They did some specialty items for kids Wheelchair accessibility: Yes, they have an elevator.

Went there for my birthday last night & was treated like a queen! Dima, who can speak French , was soooooo attentive & polite. Debbie was so nice & polite & made me feel right at home while taking the orders & giving suggestions on what to eat . Josh brought out the food & TOOK THE TIME to explain what was served !! There was worry about this reservation. Management was hard to reach and responded to any inquiry very slowly. We knew going in that our party of fourteen would have to be seated at two separate tables adjoining other. Bummer. At our scheduled time we were seated. Two servers took care of the group and did a great job! Know this is a $$$$ experience. Each and every thing is a la carte but large sizes that are shareable. Good too. We were all very pleased, even the kids with us. Steaks were served, YES they were great. Because of separate tables, Manager gave us two charcuterie boards, thanks. All in all, I would go back for very special occasions. A wonderful evening that made the reservation slowness be forgotten. Kid-friendliness: A 4, 9 and 11 year old trio were treated nicely by the server.

I make varying versions of Risotto at home with a fairly consistent success rate. The Mushroom and Pea Risotto here is absolutely top notch; makes my homemade version bottom tier. Everything at this restaurant that we tried, over multiple days, was praised at the table. Delicious.
