I had always wanted to visit this restaurant. It was not a pleasant experience. Server seemed lost in thought and couldnt focus. Out of three orders one wasnt correctly done. I wasnt able to eat a portion of my meal due to a bad taste. I asked for a price to a certain item that wasnt on the menu...server had to be reminded towards the end of our meal that we hadnt gotten the price. Overall, I will not visit again!

My family of four came in on a Sunday morning around 9:30 am. The service was phenomenal and they were attentive. The drinks and food were brought out in a timely fashion. The facility was organized and clean. My husband had the carnitas skillet. It was full of flavor-especially the carnitas! The presentation of the skillets are beautiful as you can see from my pictures (the hubby was not letting my photography session get in his way!) He had the hot sauces ready at hand but it turned out the skillet was perfect the way it came. My daughter had the chocolate chip pancakes and she inhaled them like an elegant little lady would. The kids menu has very good options, its well priced, and the quality was awesome; definitely way better than any other breakfast places we have been too so far. My son had hot chocolate with a cinnamon roll. It was big enough to share. I had the iced chocolate coffee. That iced coffee alone is enough to give Jimmys Egg five stars. I had the Berry Belgian Waffles with two sides: bacon and hash browns topped with cheese and onions. I couldnt believe how satisfying everyones meal was. I highly recommend this place for breakfast and brunch. The brunch items looked so good as well. There are many options in the entire menu. There were no down sides on this trip!

First time going, food was so good ! Loved it, but not the service. The waiter, Dariana, kept avoiding us, we asked for napkins more than 3 times and she never brought them until we asked for the bill. We were a group of 3 and were only given utensils for 2, never brought 3rd one. Never brought milk for my coffee either.

I ordered the country skillet and as always, it was great. Ordered a side of home fries and some grilled biscuits, you cant go wrong with this combination. Service is always great when I visit and have yet to have had a bad experience over the years I have been eating here. Its a must try if your looking for some great food at a great price. Wheelchair accessibility: Tight entrance and hallway for a wheelchair at the entrance, but still enough room to enter.

The food was delicious and prepared the way we like it, but some of it was delivered cold. The service wasn t all that great either. They had a very nice staff, but rarely would look in our direction when we needed something. when we asked for white bread toast, we got a long piece of sourdough bread. It was like being in bizarro land, where they don t have simple white bread toast. And we had to remind them. Despite this, we would still return again, as they are much better than what IHOP has turned into.

Place has a cheery upbeat atmosphere. Service was good and quick. My omelette, my wifes eggs, and all sides were tasty. One star off because in my moms Eggs Benedict the eggs were a bit overcooked. Good prices too. We certainly will return here. UPDATE: Fifth star added back, because this time my mothers eggs Benedict were perfect. She said she was in Hog Heaven. We went to Jimmy Egg on 10th Street for breakfast. The place is nice and clean. The staff was attentive and courteous. We had issues with the coffee and the hash browns. The coffee tasted more like water than coffee and the hash browns were reheated and hard to cut with a knife. Bianka brought us new fresh hash browns and they were good. First time we went to Jimmy Egg and the impression was less than excellent (4 stars). Maybe it will be better next time and they get the big 5!

We recently ordered catering (breakfast) for 200+ people and it could not have been a more seamless and smooth process. The manager at the McAllen, TX restaurant answered all of our questions and went above and beyond for us. In addition to the stellar service, the food was phenomenal. We ordered breakfast tacos, pancakes, home fries, and fruit. There were multiple taco toppings and sauces. They are not stingy by any means when it comes to portions. There was plenty of food for everyone and a lot left over. The day of catering, we drove up to the door and all of the food was loaded into our car within seconds, we did not even lift a finger. I highly recommend Jimmys Eggs in McAllen for catering.

I cant say enough good things about this place. The food here is incredible and the employees here are amazing. The service and friendliness from the employees is the best Ive ever seen anywhere and its not just one employee its all of them every time Ive come here. This place is cute, the food is tasty, but the service could use some help. ATMOSPHERE: Staff looked busy, saw someone sweeping crumbs and stuff from the floor, there was someone bussing tables. Even looked like the manager was involved in helping. Its small, quaint, with a tv in the staff area (usually showing news or a movie). Our table had a used syrup cup from the previous guests which is weird because the table was empty the whole time I was waiting to be seated - so, plenty of time to clean it (I let it go). The table was filthy, it didnt look dirty but the hubby used a wipe (because he does that - and Im glad he does) and it turned brown! Yuck (we didnt say anything because we wiped it). My cup had white, crusty something on the rim (ew, decided to ask for a fresh cup - after being ignored for a few minutes the hubby had to take it to them because they were busy talking amongst themselves and didnt notice us, well one person did, then quickly looked away and didnt get anyone elses attention). SERVICE: They ran out of what I ordered and didnt come tell us until the other dishes were cooked and waiting to be served - I told them to skip it because I didnt want anyone elses food to get cold. I want to say, I understand people get tired and maybe they were under staffed (which could explain why the manager was running tables) - that said, they seemed to be too busy talking or on their phones to be bothered with helping us (missing utensils at the table, dirty table and cup, even the wait to be seated wasnt because no one saw us, and they had available tables, its because the host just wasnt at her post for about 10 minutes - 2 groups left because of the wait). My pet peeve is lack of communication (hey, youre table needs something or they need you over there or do you need me to take this one?). Restaurant staff (front and back of the house) should always be communicating about what they need). Everyone was friendly - these are nice people, but something isnt right if customer service is that bad. The hubby is pretty even tempered and he was so annoyed he said he never wants to return. Vegetarian options: Limited but you can ask to leave out the sausage or whatever.

I guess we sat at the wrong area...the server was rude, and kept mentioning prices...we go there to have a great breakfast, as we usually do at Jimmys Egg, we dont need to hear about the price of the sides! First time trying this place, but definitely not the last. The first thing I noticed is that this place is that the staff is really friendly. I hope theyre well-paid There are a handful of other items in the menu Id still like to try, but this morning I felt like trying to eat healthy (still had to try their short stack, though). The menu is a bit limited for my taste, but I think it works for them because they can make what they have work better to get people coming back for their unique taste. Cant recommend the seasoned home fries (theyre not fries) enough if you are a fan of the red potatoes at Lubys. I had the Popeyes Revenge with steamed broccoli (no salt), seasoned home fries and a short stack of buttermilk pancakes with sugar-free syrup.

The food, service, everything here is so good. Breakfast, brunch, and lunch is what they serve. They cater too. Very clean. They are always busy. I had the breakfast chorizo taco. Yum. Great dining experience! There were no gimmicks. Just the fundamentals of an excellent meal: great service, clean environment, and yummy food. I had what I will call Victors Benedict. When I asked Victor (my waiter) for suggestions, he sounded like a foodie. One of his suggestions was to order the Veggie Benedict but add ham. He nailed it! Hollandaise sauce, spinach, tomato, caramelized onions, green onions, and that slice of ham on an English muffin. The caramelized onions, saltiness from the ham, the sauce, and the runny yolk work great together. I highly recommend Victors Benedict if you have a chance. There are also the staples of pancakes, omelets, and egg breakfast platters. I will definitely be coming back to try their lunch as well. The staff was on point asking if anything was needed. My coffee mug was hot and full. I was a happy customer. Make sure you ask for a Victors Benedict if you get a tall waiter with a long beard and glasses.

Brought my son to our 1st outing without Momma. You see my sons plate looking sad but believe me he ate very well. Hehe! We shared our meals... well I did cuz he was getting mad I ate one grape. Oh and its the 1st time my son was calling our server and never took his eyes of her. I believe my sons 1st so to speak crush. Shout out to Clarissa for her friendly service.

We ve been here several times because it doesn t disappoint, I love that they have flavored coffee creamers, I m an avid coffee drinker and I appreciate when I can add additional flavor. I ve tried the chorizo tacos (ask for the tortilla toasty) eggs Benedict, chicken and waffles and all has been flavorful. The only exception would be the cinnamon roll, always wanted to try one and never did because we were so full, finally ordered one at the beginning of our meal and it just wasn t great, a bit hard even. Won t be ordering that again but everything else is flavorful and delicious

We came to this diner for breakfast based on all the reviews. Don t get me wrong all the food was spot on. The waitress never came to refill our drinks or check on us. She was checking all her other tables but we had to stop her to ask her for everything. We are good tippers and we were very disappointed in our service. Food was fantastic though.

I sat for 10 minutes before a server decided to inform me that they had only 3 people serving. That said, they were not busy enough to ignore clientele. The kitchen staff were fumbling over themselves. One server was scratching her head IN THE KITCHEN! Blown away..... What has happened to that restaurant?!?!? Theyve lost their touch it seems....

Thoroughly enjoyed this location for years the service is prompt and the restaurant is clean. I really wish they had not dropped the Big Jim Omlet from their menu. My wife and I have enjoyed the atmosphere and people. Thank you for doing a great job. This used to be a fantastic location. The quality has gone down a bit. I would rather a restaurant keep the same menu and charge more than go cheap and decrease items.

Throw the whole restaurant away. The food is mediocre & tasteless, you can make it better yourself at home and with better ingredients, also the staff is impatient and cant handle a busy shift.The manager Nadia was ridiculous too, I called because something was missing from my order and instead of apologizing and trying to rectifying the situation, she argued how she had been the one to make sure the orders were correct, when clearly she hadnt. There are a ton of restaurants in Mcallen go to any of those.
