Meh. They got our order wrong when we ordered takeout. Food was good but not great. Standout was the mushroom risotto. When we tried to dine in we were turned away despite it being 5 pm with empty tables. I think it s because we had our toddler with us. I ve never heard of a resort restaurant not saving availability for resort guests.

Called the hotel guest services and was told that the restaurant took walk-ins and had no wait. Arrived at the restaurant 10 minutes later, and was told by the restaurant hostess that the restaurant is reservation only and refused to sit me and my spouse. Very disappointing, poor customer service and lack of effective communication between the restaurant and the hotel concierge.

I d give a modest recommendation for Zeppole. The atmosphere was great I loved being able to sit outside while technically still indoors. We had a reservation and were seated quickly. The service was attentive, though a little slow, especially since the restaurant wasn t that busy. The food was the highlight excellent oysters, tasty seafood appetizers, and the scallops and Brussels were solid. Overall, it was a good evening, just not amazing.

We enjoyed our dinner the restaurant was very comfortable. Sitting down was very unorganized and seemed to be some confusion has where to sit us. Finally he decided on our table! What a poor location 5:30 pm and sun was right on the table. I told the young man we did not wish to sit in the sun. He ignored me. I would not sit down after he walked away. Then, someone else helped me. Normally, you are asked if the table is alright????? The rest of the staff was great. Prices here are a little high, and food is not over the top for the price. The Lobster Bisque is a little strong, but my wife enjoyed it. The caramelize brussels sprouts were great. I had the Chicken Alfrado. The sauce is very thick, and noodles cooked like little hard for my taste. However, this is how they serve the dish in Italy. My wife seafood pasta was presented well. However, she barely touched it, not liking the sauce. I say give the place a try for a nice dinner.

REVIEW UPDATE I had previously given this place a pretty harsh (but accurate) review. However, that was 2 years ago and we recently returned here and found it to be MUCH IMPROVED! It really was pretty tasty this time. Everything was perfectly seasoned. There were many delicious options to choose from. The atmosphere was beautiful as always and service was stellar! Photos are from our recent visit. So delicious Previous review 3 stars for great, friendly staff, beautiful atmosphere, and the dessert was not too bad. My husband and I went last night and The food was TERRIBLE We both ordered pasta dishes. I ordered the Carbonara and he ordered the Fettuccine Alfredo. There was absolutely no salt anywhere to be found in the dishes. Bland noodles, bland sauce. I ended up not eating my dish and my husband ate his because it was expensive and he didnt want to waste it.

Such a cool place and the entire set up and atmosphere of the restaurant is amazing. The timing of when our entrees hit the table after our soup and salads was a little longer than expected but that was no fault of our waiter, Brandon, or even the kitchen as there were multiple large parties that had been sat before us and pretty much the entire duration of our meal. Highly recommend making reservations regardless of which night you plan to go but I believe Fridays & Saturdays are by reservation only. If you aren t staying at the Gaylord Resort, come early for your reservations and walk around the winding pathways of the beautifully landscaped atrium!

Location is very nice, in the middle of the Gaylord resort, with tables that feel outdoor even if they are really indoor inside an old style village (magic of the resort). I opted just for a small starter as I knew there would have been more food at an even that I was supposed to attend shortly after. My bisque was very tasty even if the fish inside was a bit chewy. I also appreciated the small pre-starter they have us which were mini panini, warm & filled with melted cheese. The place doesnt really serve Italian food. If you can go past that, the pasta looked very nice. Service messed up a bit with the steak knife of one of the friends at my table, which is never ideal as in the meanwhile that things get sorted the steak gets cold. I have the feeling that the steak was not so good. From other friends who went there another night I got feedback that the prices are too high.

Save yourself the headache and go to a nice restaurant out of the hotel. For the money theres an abundance of near by restaurants with a friendly staff. The foods ok but the poor service kills the whole meal. If you can catch the waiter for drinks your lucky. Your Better off bringing waterbottles for the kids. Plus they tack on an automatic 20% gratuity. Probably why the staff slacks. No need for performance and quality. Their getting paid regardless of you spending your hard earned money or not.

Stayed here for a user conference with our company. Wanted to go out the last night to a brisket place but ended up joining our group at this Italian restaurant. Super happy I did. I ordered the chicken marsala. We were a party of 10 or so. The kitchen was able to get all the food out at the same time. The waiters were a bit confused who got what, but in the end we all got what we ordered. . The chicken marsala was unbelievable. The glaze was super tasty. The chicken was moist and the gravy which was a marsala reduction was incredible. I was kind of impressed because I did not think restaurants in this Gaylord hotel would deliver this kind of quality. Also got some nice cabernet sauvignon. Took the waitress a while to get it to the table (ate extra slow ). Compliments to the chef.

We had a reservation for 7:45 for our anniversary. We were greeted warmly when we checked in and they were so kind to wish us a happy anniversary. They were very busy so we waited about 10 minutes then we were seated. Our waiter came to the table within minutes, acknowledging our anniversary and offered us champagne, from him to us. I ordered the fettuccine Alfredo with brussel sprouts (which were AMAZING!) and my husband ordered the meatballs and a short ribs pasta. The food was out within 15 minutes. We loved all of it! We will definitely come back again.

My husband and I had a nice romantic dinner last summer at this beautiful restaurant with delicious food and excellent service! After being greeted by several personable hostesses, we were seated beside a little stream with lush greenery and were treated very well by the wonderful server, Alaric, and the assistant water server (from the Philippines) with the big, sweet smile. We ordered some nice rose wine to go along with our Wood Grilled Octopus appetizer and delicious entrees, Frutti di Mare and Short Rib Sugo, and then finished up with the scrumptious Pineapple Macadamia Cheesecake. Frutti di Mare (which means Fruit of the Sea ) had clams, mussels, scallops and shrimp with freshly made pasta and a delicious sauce with lemon on the side. Short Rib Sugo (which means Sauce ) had mouth-watering rib meat with freshly made pasta in a traditional sauce made with ripe tomatoes, extra virgin olive oil, onions, garlic, and seasonings. We observed that the manager and bartenders also seemed to be very hospitable, and all the guests appeared to be having a great time. It was such a relaxing evening in a lovely setting!

When we arrived, everyone from the hostess, server, and the people bringing our food acknowledged our vegan dietary preferences. Our server was amazing, Lexi was very helpful w vegan options. We got crustini bread w oil dipping, the roasted potatoes app, the wild mushroom app, and asparagus all can all be made vegan and they offered to prepare the potatoes in the oven as to not use shared fryer on our servers recommendation. We got a salad w pickled radish and balsamic vinaigrette. For main we got a spiral pasta w red sauce and roasted veggies (cauliflower, carrots, mushroom) and the main corse was also gluten free.

The fettuccine Alfredo could have used some more sauce and the chicken was cooked perfectly. The chicken Marsala was really good. My sister-in-law flew down from New York, her sister flew in from Virginia, and I drove up from the Austin area, to be present for my sister-in-laws graduation and receiving her doctoral hood. After the ceremony, we went to this restaurant and were treated amazingly. The two ladies were staying in the hotel, and I was staying elsewhere, but we had a wonderful meal, and the head waiter comped us with dessert after the meal, to honor my sister-in-law for her accomplishment in receiving her doctorate. The service was very good, and the staff were available and interested in the pleasure that we were having in our meal. I give them five stars, would give them more if I could, because this was such an important occasion for my sister-in-law, and she was treated like a queen. Thank you. Thank you very much.

He simply told my husband and I to give him a few minutes to make it happen. He then came back with two warmed chocolate chip cookies , 2 pints of Haagen daz ice cream and 2 ice cream cookies. I poured the hot water into the ice water, and wallah, water with no ice! Howling laughter all around the table! Otherwise, the wait staff and food (including oysters on the half shell) were great. Try to get a table with the high backed leather chairs - super comfy.

We love this place! This restaurant was recommended by a friend. We came for a girls night, and my husband booked it for our anniversary after tasting my leftovers. So great. We had raw oysters for the first time as appetizers. It comes with saices, but all you need is a bit of lemon juice! We both had crafted cocktails. The Gladiator is a crowd favorite and the italian margarita. My husband got the lobster ravioli, and I got rigatoni with grilled chicken. The lobster ravioli is packed with lobster. Huge plus. It is slightly spicy but not overpowering. The rigatoni with the vodka sauce is.... perfection. The chicken is grilled chicken, gently seasoned with italian seasoning and lemon zest. We opted out of dessert, but the options are phenominal. Definitely unique and packed with flavor based on the details! We are already planning a staycation so we can come back again. Ask for Alaric! He is a waiter there and absolutely amazing energy.

You can tell the amount of work the kitchen staff put into making key items from scratch. Visited this restaurant while staying at the Gaylord Hotel during QuakeCon 2023. Hubby and I were very pleased with our meal. The octopus appetizer was amazing! The octopus was cooked to perfection. It had some mini potatoes and a delicious sauce. I forgot to take a picture before eating so the one I have is after removing 2 pieces. Hubby had the mushroom risotto with chicken that was super good. The chicken was perfectly cooked and seasoned, as was the risotto. I had the fettuccine Alfredo with a side of forest mushrooms. Together was great, but the fettuccine Alfredo alone had a very mild flavor. For dessert I had the tiramisu which was a bit too soaked so the flavor was off for me. Hubby had the pineapple cheesecake that was soooo good. Finishing the dessert with a cappuccino and black coffee made the evening perfect. We will definitely dine there again if we re staying here.

Our steak was under seasoned to the point that it had very little flavor. We ordered a side of mushrooms for $10 which also seemed to be completely unseasoned. The fritto misto (appetizer of fried seafood) featured over-cooked tiny shrimp, the smallest scallops I ve ever had, two small pieces of calamari, and a couple of pieces of salmon - it was very underwhelming due to the tiny shrimp and scallops. The grilled asparagus was delicious and perfectly cooked. The child s spaghetti and meatball were really good - I wish I had ordered that.

We didnt have reservations so the girl in the front offered us to sit in the bar since we didnt want wait much longer to eat. Once we got near the bar, I asked a young gentleman if we could sit at the round two sit table and he said yes that would be ok. Then another young lady by the register said sometimes they are lenient since it wasnt busy, so me and my sister got to sit at a table more comfortable versus sitting on the bar. The pricing is a bit too much but I guess a restaurant like this might say that the food is freshly made and organic plus they have it set up a bit fancy for like a date night with your significant other. If they want keep these pricing then I would want more pasta in my plate and free tiramisu cake.

Celebrating our anniversary with a staycation at the Gaylord Texan and had dinner here tonight. Abby was super friendly and helpful! We had questions on what to order since we couldnt decide and she answered them with no hesitation. We also wanted non-alcoholic drinks and she suggested some good ones the bar could make for us. We ordered the meatballs, Zuppa Di Laura, Novascotian Halibut, Frito Di Mare and Budino. Everything we ate was delicious! Definitely left with a full belly.

Ordered a cacio e pepe with some grilled chicken on the side. The grilled chicken didn t show up, and I had to go interrupt a lengthy personal conversation being had by 4 of the workers to request the chicken I ordered. The food was simply ok. The service felt like the customers were a nuisance. Go for the food, and just be direct with the servers. It s clear they don t like their job, but they were helpful when approached.

As someone in my forties with a head full of gray hair, I typically dont get asked to show my ID when ordering a beer. However, during a recent visit to this restaurant with some friends for a birthday celebration, I made the mistake of leaving my ID at home. When I tried to order a drink, the server made a bit of a scene, refusing to serve me without proper identification. She even went so far as to bring the manager over to explain the establishments policy of not serving alcohol to anyone under 40 without an ID. I was taken aback by the aggressive nature of their response - I had only intended to have a drink with friends and wasnt looking to cause any trouble. Ultimately, I decided not to make a big deal out of it and simply enjoyed the rest of the evening. But the incident left a bad taste in my mouth, and Im not sure Ill be returning to that particular restaurant anytime soon.

Savana our waitress was excellent. She was also our waitress when we dinned here in January and she remembered us! She even remembered what mocktails we had. We were very impressed and felt at home. She further elevated our dinning experience by comping our dessert because we were celebrating our wedding monthversary. We have always felt special dinning at Zeppole. We have celebrated all our month wedding anniversaries here. This was our last one before we end our newly wed year. I gave lower ratings for the food because the chicken Marsala dish has changed. The breading on the chicken is too doughy, and the sauce on the mushroom is not as flavorful. Also the mashed potatoes on the earlier version were delicious. I miss that. The Tuscan soup was scrumptious and the asparagus, exquisite. Hubby loved his fettuccine Alfredo with shrimp. Overall, we had a great time and we ll be back.

Slightly disappointing waiting a day for mediocre service and food. Drinks came late not in the right glass, boring flavored cocktail if we can call the lemonade a flavor. Champagne glass is like a juvenile size glass-ish structure. Octopus is dry small and mediocre again. The Branzino has no head what we have never seen before. Nothing we got was better than 6 on a 1-10 scale so it why i say disappointing. Pizza is too bready we think domino is better. Need to improve or stay mediocre. Portions are small. Hungry hotel guests happy to get in and eventually eat, this is the philosophy rules here.

We ate here during our stay at the Gaylord for a conference that lasted three days. This is by far the best place to eat at the Gaylord Texan. I didnt know what to expect from a hotel restaurant, but I was pleasantly surprised. The restaurant has two main eating areas. One area is a quaint sitting area with lovely cushioned chairs wit a more cozy restaurant feel. The other area is a kind of open air bar surrounded by small bistro tables. While at the conference Zeppole was my go to place to hang out. I had a few if the dishes. I ate the Chicken Marsala, Winter Squash risotto and a wonderful beef rib dish served on pasta. Everything was very flavorful and delicious. Each meal comes with great foccacia bread and oil/vinegar. If you find yourself at the Gaylord Texan in Grapevine Texas, make sure to eat at Zeppoles. Its a little pricey.

We got married at Zeppole in 2015 and have gone back several times to celebrate our anniversary. Our dining experience this time was nothing short of amazing. The treatment we received by our server and by the Manager (Larissa) was truly mind-blowing. They made the entire evening super special - I wont share all the nice things they did but they made it amazing from start to finish - champagne, appetizers, entrees, and desserts were splendid, and our service was splendid as well. Thank you Larissa for making our night extremely memorable! Greatly appreciated!

I came in with my husband for a birthday dinner. The host and hostess were very nice at first in wishing me a happy birthday, but then when they took us to our table, I asked if we could sit somewhere that wasnt right next to the server station, since it tends to be very noisy and my husband has hearing issues. The restaurant was half-empty so I didnt think it would be an issue, but the host actually said that he couldnt put us at a different table because most of them were for four-person parties and, What if a four-top comes in? As a former hostess myself, I was pretty surprised that this was his response. I guess we should have brought two more people if we wanted a nice table! He said, So is this table okay? It was very awkward. I just decided to sit down. It definitely wasnt the best way to start a meal. A few minutes later, I saw a two-top get seated at a four-person booth. The food wasnt anything special. We had the meatballs, which were barely warm and not very flavorful, and then I ordered the sweet corn risotto, which again was almost cold and desperately needed seasoning. The service was also pretty lacking. We saw our server maybe twice, and I actually had to ask another tables server for water, which I dont think Ive even had to do in a diner, let alone a restaurant where the entrees start at $20. Since we were celebrating my birthday, we would normally get dessert, but everything else was so disappointing we decided to just pay and leave.

If I could give this 0 stars I would. It was by far the worst experience I have EVER HAD. When we ordered the waitress asked us would you like a Cesar or house salad with that. My husband myself and our friend assumed it would be a side salad so we each ordered one. It ended up being an entree salad. So we each got a 26 dollar salad along with our entree we ordered?!??? Then when our steaks finally came 40 minutes later they were cooked well done and we ordered medium rare. Even our waitress agreed they were over cooked when we cut into them. We sent them back and waited another 35 plus minutes for new steaks. By that point my daughters finished their food and were ready to go (they are 6&7) The manager never came until I requested our waitress to get the manager. The manager was extremely rude and said she never came over because she was talking to another table. . Our waitress offered us ice cream for our daughters while we were still waiting for our steaks. The ice cream finally came but when we got our check we noticed we were charged for it. We brought this to our waitresses attention and she said her manager refused to comp the ice cream that we didnt order. The waitress went back over to the manager with our credit card and we could see the manager yelling at our waitress. It took forever for us to get our card back. When our waitress came back she was visibly upset. I felt so awful for our waitress. The manager is extremely unprofessional and her behavior towards her Staff and customers is unacceptable.
