A small kitchen inside a Grocwey store. Better tondoa takeaway, but man, the food was soo good. We tried chicken Shawarma plate one with rice and one with salad with 2 sides, and everything was tasty. Great Halal options on the Galveston island.

Always soooooo good. We ordered the Family meal which served 4 adults and 2 kids and we have plenty of leftovers. Spinach is always so flavorful and don t pass on the beef koobideh, gyro or the sauces. Must try!

The food is amazing! It always tastes wonderful. My husband and I have been ordering food to go several times a month since we moved to the island. It s probably one of our favorite places to get food from. But the reason for 3 stars is the reliability. They are not a reliable business who you can count on. I ve had numerous instances where the food I wanted to order wasn t in stock. For example, I called to order once and they said they were out of the 2 meats I wanted. We had to find somewhere else to order food that night. Yesterday, I ordered my lunch online and went to the store to pick it up. When I got to the counter, the guy told me that they hadn t made my food and weren t going to make it because they were too busy. What?? I paid for my food online, waited the appropriate amount of time for it to be cooked, drove over there and then found out that they had no intention of serving me the food I ordered. It was 2 plates of food, btw, so not a big order. I had to go find somewhere else to pickup food and I ended up being late back to work. I will probably order from them occasionally in the future but I am going to start hunting for a more reliable Mediterranean restaurant on the island to give my money to.

A wonderful surprise. This is another episode of Dont be put off by the location!!! We had a falafel plate with Afgan Saland and Afgan Dal. My son had Chicken Schwarma with fries and eggplant. Amazing! We got to watch the falafel being prepared and it did not disappoint. Every item is fresh and delicious.

Nice little spot inside a convenience store, the guy is super nice. You can ask him for recommendations as well. I ordered a loaded fries with gyro and beef koobideh plate. Only a couple of chairs inside, not recommended for dine-in but take-outs are highly recommended. Parking is a little harder to find but you can park in the next street and then walk back a little.

This food was an incredible explosion of flavors in my mouth, such an unexpected delivery of BOMB food in good portions and made with care. We had the amazing eggplant, the best mango Lassi smoothie Ive ever had hands down, and the juicy lamb kebab with cooked-just-right rice. Okra was flavorageous too!!! Even the kids ate up all that vegetarian side goodness, so theres that bonus if you have little ones. I am so glad I finally made it to this gem of a restaurant! I am always looking for fresh, well prepared food and prefer Mediterranean style dishes. As soon as I walked up to the counter, Ali, the owner and chef, greeted me and then prepared my meal. Per his suggestions, I had the Lamb Koobideh plate. I chose to have it served over rice with Afghan salad and eggplant as my sides. While waiting, Ali gave me a taste of the okra and falafel. They were amazing!! When I commented on how light and fresh the falafel was, he shared that they make their own powder and prepare everything themselves. You can tell the difference. As I m eating, I m thinking to myself this is restaurant quality food in a convenience store- how amazing. Ali later shared he has a restaurant in Sugarland by the same name and has been asked by customers there to come to the island so he did four months ago. I m glad he did. I will definitely be back! Go try this place but know there are only 4 seats there so be prepared to take it with you if no seats are available. Either way, you won t be disappointed!

Its a cool spot inside a store. I ordered gyro, ribeye wrap, kheer, and mango lassi. Gyro was good, nicely packed and filling. Ribeye wrap, was really good to meat was perfectly cooked. It was juicy and delicious. Mango lassi was also delicious. Kheer was a good, different style of rice pudding. On the other hand, the serving size was too small, in my opinion,compared to a cost. I would love to try their other items.

Best food Ive ever had! Drove from Pasadena because a friend from Galveston recommended it...... The scrumptious flavors are hard to put into words! Decided to give Kabab Shack a try after hearing so many great things about it and I m glad I did. Placed an order online and I arrived a few minutes early but my order was ready at the given estimated pick up time. I tried the mango lassi and ordered the falafel plate with rice, afghan daal and Greek salad. Everything was delicious and fresh. The falafel tasted like it may be home made. My only two complaints are that I did not receive the red sauce I requested and the daal was a little cold. This place has made me so happy! I have missed good food like this since moving here in 2019. Its pretty much designed for take out only. First place for food Ive found that I truly cant wait to go back again. Hard to explain but I lived in Houston for many years before and was spoiled with a lot of awesome options. Great food can be found here on the island for sure but this is my personal happy place now. Grateful its on my side of town too. Lots of my favorite flavors

Owner is incredibly nice, and gave us samples of the food. Everything we ordered was incredibly tasty and spiced to perfection. Best mediterranean ive had so far on the island. Several dishes have afghan spices added in too. UTMB employees/students get a discount as well. Seating inside is limited but there are some seats outside. Will be back (many times im sure)

this food was LIFE CHANGING. seriously since moving to the island I ve missed good halal food after coming from dallas then austin. the employees were courteous. he recommended the lamb koobideh with egg plant and chickpea over rice. everything was so delicious. they offer it in different spice levels but even max spice was not too bad. Parking is limited as is seating so be prepared to take out. Vegetarian options: Falafel and salads as well as delicious side dishes. went with two vegetarian friends.

i was sitting in a public place when i smelt this delicious aroma and saw a guy with a styrofoam box. everyone started whispering about how good his food smelt and eventually someone asked him what he had and he said kebab shack. i went the next day and it did not disappoint. the food is amazing and it is some of the most flavorful food i ve had in a long time. big fan of kebab shack. i got the loaded monster fries with gyro just like the guy i saw- yum

Food here was amazing! One of the best places to eat in Galveston. We had Chicken Kabab plate, salmon kabab plate and lamb kabab plate and I personally loved lamb kabab plate. Egg plant and monster fries side was delicious too! It was yummmmm!! And the staff were great!

My wife had the falafel plate over Greek salad with eggplant and Afghan salad, I ordered the lamb kabab over rice with eggplant and okra. We also had the spicy hummus and baklava. Everything was fantastic, I cant wait to try more of the menu. The owner is super friendly and helpful, there are plenty of beverage options since its in a Bodega (corner store). The regional spin on Mediterranean cuisine is wonderful, and flavorful. They definitely take care of the locals too! Check their website for call ahead ordering, and delivery options. Parking: Maybe 10 spots, then its all street parking. Kid-friendliness: Its in a corner store full of candy and sodas and other things your kids would definitely try to fleece you for. Other than that no age restriction, and I think they have chicken nuggies. Wheelchair accessibility: There is a wheelchair ramp available.

Have recently seen the reviews so had to try it out. They forgot our baklava but to be fair it was an after thought that I added when several people were in line and I didn t notice it was missing until I got home but the lamb kabob wrap ribeye kabob wrap and falafel were all fantastic! Parking is a little complicated. We ve tried many kabob wraps both home and abroad and this competes for top 3. Highly recommend! Thanks so much! Will be back :) Galveston REALLY needed this :)

I was a little hesitant to eat here due to it being inside a convenient store and has only two tables, however..... This place is AWESOME!! The service here in tops. The food is the best food Ive had in a while!! Try the mango, Lassi. I HAD to have two!! The Afghan Daal over rice and spinach is a MUST! Also, STRONGLY recommended the Afghan salad! Its minty and fresh!! I am a meat person, and while their meat options are plenty and yummy, I would definitely come back just for the side dishes!!!

They are INSIDE the convenience store tucked by the counter but boy is this a HIDDEN gem. They just started their location in galvy and The food is GREAT. I got the beef koobideh w rice and eggplant and afghan salad for my sides. They can make it spicy or regular and I got mine spicy. The flavor was onpoint and definitely authentic and you can definitely taste the freshness of their food. Also the owner Ali is super nice! Definitely coming back!
