Love love love the Grand Galvez! The Grand Galvez is absolutely stunning and the attention to detail is stellar. The lobby of the hotel and Peacock Alley simply transport you back in time! We had a wonderful quick getaway and could not have been happier with our choice. It was such a pleasant surprise! We checked in with such a lovely staff member (I believe her name was Anna or Hannah) who detailed everything we needed to know and was incredibly welcoming. If youre a fan of Chinoiserie, like I am, youll find the rooms and fabric wall paper swoon worthy! The hotel is meticulously maintained and our room was wonderful overlooking the ocean. We loved relaxing by the pool and enjoying frosty beverages at the swim up bar. The pink and white chaise lounges and umbrellas are so cute! We ordered a delicious poolside lunch that was light & refreshing. Additionally, there are beautiful pink and white loungers and umbrellas across the street at their private beach area. Youll even find servers bringing food & drinks to your oceanfront loungers. We enjoyed morning coffee made by their barista, Ethan. Ethan was so incredibly friendly, polite and professional. We enjoyed our morning chat with him and appreciated his recommendations. He is such a hardworker! There is an adorable gift shop onsite and there I met Kelly. Kelly was very friendly and she showed me all of the adorable items for my granddaughters and fur babies! They have a great inventory of gift items, clothing and accessories. I even got the cutest dish towel with the Grand Galvez on it to commemorate our trip. Kelly shared with me the history of the hotel and it prompted me to take a look at the book in our room. Such a rich history. Incredibly interesting. The service overall was outstanding. So many staff members stopped what they were doing to open the door for me & wish me a good day. I lost count how many times that happened. It s just so rare to find nowadays. We ll definitely be back! The Grand Galvez is a gem and I hope to bring back my children and grandchildren. I can t wait to try Sunday Brunch & High Tea!

Just stayed the weekend at Hotel Grand Galvez. Everything was good. The service was great and had access to private beach across the street and the pool bar and regular bar was good too. The restaurant inside was nice as well and waitress Mariah provided good service. My baby experienced her first time at the beach. They also had coffee and great lemon water in the morning and we ordered room service that came up with our order really fast.

The hotel itself is beautiful. The chandeliers are awesome. Love the bits of history on the walls. I wasnt a fan of the bathroom shower not having a door, the whole floor got soaked. Coming out of the shower the step out is Long. I almost fell coming out. No pressure in the water, it look forever to wash my hair. The shampoo, conditioner & body wash dispenser sucked. It look 5 pumps to get a few drops of anything out. It was annoying. The hotel room itself is super small. I was very surprised how the bed took up 95% of the room. The lighting was bad, trying to put on your makeup with inproper lighting was kinda lame. I had to move the chair to the window to see anything. The fridge was so tiny you cant keep leftover food at all. Only bottles of water. I didnt realize, so when we got back to the hotel my leftovers had to sit out all night & went bad by the morning. Also, there was no microwave in the room, so I couldnt heat up my food later on to eat it. So it just went bad. That was a $15 meal wasted. The guy in the lobby checking us in & the info online says free WiFi, free bike riding & other amenities. We did use the wifi & went swimming. However didnt get to use the gym, yoga, bike riding or anything else. We were surprised to see there was an $40 fee added this morning (the next day). When we called to see what the fee was for. The manager said it was for using the amenities. We said .. well the amenities they told us about were the FREE ones. We didnt get a message or do anything that required fees. He said theres a $40 fee for the amenities, such as WiFi & pool etc etc. we said ... So then those were NOT FREE amenities..... Those were $40. We didnt even get to use the bikes or the beach chairs or yoga.... But we still got charged? He said yes.... Its a fee So its not free, there is a fee? He said its free, you just pay for the services like taxes. We said ... So we PAID for the FREE services? He said yes. We can afford the $40. Its the principal of it. If theres a FEE just add it in our original bill/payment. Dont add it later. Because even if we didnt use the paid/free services, we still got charged. If we had known that, we would have made time to take advantage of the services we were getting billed for. Plus the manager was totally gaslighting us making us look/sound dumb. But as far as I know, FREE services dont charge $40. Just add it into the bill.

Texas Hospitality--- not here. I brought my husband here on his 55th birthday to see the Hall of History and get one of their specialty lattes. We walked into the amazing lobby and spoke with the desk clerk explaining that we had called ahead. He pointed us over to the coffee bar. I walked up and the barista rushed over and --without a word---put up the closed sign at 11:45 in the morning. I asked her if they were closed. She said yes. Thinking it was a lunch break, I asked if it was the entire day. She said yes and then walked off. She was done with the conversation. I am a local and truth be told am absolutely appalled at the behavior from what is supposed to be the best hotel on the Island. I work at the largest tourist attraction in the area and will make sure the recommendations I make ---help guests stear clear of this locale as no one should be treated with such disregard. Hotel Galvez is lovely architecturally, but the service from their barista is abhorrent.

We had a great time here on our first time in the hotel. The pool was great and everyone was very friendly. We came after Hurricane Beryl so some stuff was closed off but it was still good. We looked for ghosts and didnt see any though lol Rooms: Rooms are regular size with decent amenities that seem well put together. Nearby activities: Murdochs and the pleasure pier near by...cant go wrong. Walkability: Plenty of access to the hotel and surrounding area. Food and drinks: Food here is average to good. We tried the Monarch and the poolside grill. Both were decent aside from the oysters. Noteworthy details: We tried to find ghosts but didnt see any lol

Stepping into the Grand Galvez is like stepping back in time. This hotel is a beautifully preserved piece of history, with grand architecture and an ambiance that whispers stories of the past. The sense of grandeur is undeniable, and history buffs will find themselves enthralled. However, the price tag for a regular room is steep, starting at $330+. While the experience is unique, the rooms themselves didnt quite justify the cost for me. If youre looking for modern luxury or a wide array of amenities, you might be disappointed. The Grand Galvez is perfect for those who prioritize historical significance and a taste of old-world elegance. If youre on a budget or prefer modern accommodations, Id recommend visiting the hotel for a tour or enjoying a meal in one of its restaurants instead of staying overnight. Overall, the Grand Galvez is a fascinating landmark, but whether its worth the price of a stay is a personal decision that depends on your priorities and budget.

Its a beautiful hotel, but theres a lot lacking. I stayed at 3-star close to the convention center with better amenities & friendly staff. Here theyre either rude or snooty. Also, most speak extremely broken and hardly comprehensible English, even in the restaurant. Yall need to get several new luggage carts. Having 2-3 old, wobbly carts doesnt do the truck. Also, bad roach problem at the pool at night. In spite of all this, Id still go back for the beauty.

Paid top dollar for an ocean view room with a king bed. It s the most expensive room without booking a suite and the added pics were our room. We asked for a different room and were given the run around several times before they finally just said sorry we re full. My wife even offers to downgrade our room and they said maybe then never got back to us, so after an hour I went to the front desk. I asked the young lady at the front desk if every room was checked into at the moment and she said no but her manager said they were booked. I then asked her if I could talk to the manager and she called him and asked me to have a seat to the side. No problem. I waited about 20 minutes and no one came to talk to me. I worked in the service industry for many years, so I feel very self aware of unnecessary complaining but this stay for the first couple of hours here was nothing but unacceptable for THE most expensive hotel on the island.. will not recommend this place to anybody.

Rooms: Like the reviews say, the rooms are small but they literally have everything you need. The beds are comfortable, the showers are big, The room is really clean and they change linens everyday. Flat screen TVs works great. The blackout curtains keep the sun out and also open up to a great view depending on what room you get. The negatives are: The mini fridge is just that. You can barely put four bottles of water in it. So dont bring a lot of stuff to keep refrigerated, also they dont allow coolers or ice chest in the facility. There is no microwave or table to sit at to eat. They have a nice desk to do office work, and a decent size closet with a chest of drawers and a robe comes hanging in the closet. The shower features look awesome, it makes you think that youre going to have a great high pressure shower, but there is very low water pressure and the shower mechanism is confusing to operate. Nearby activities: You are literally in the middle of everything on the seawall. Most everything is within walking distance. They also have a private beach on the seawall and they will set up umbrellas and chairs for you at no extra charge and they will have someone go back and forth for drinks if you need them. They offer free bicycles to ride, they have a spa and a bunch of other amenities that you can find on their website. Noteworthy details: The hotel restaurant menu is very limited and highly priced. But you will get top notch service. The bar and grill which closes at 11:00 p.m. and last call is at 10:30. Be prepared to spend a lot of money. As one mixed drink will cost you $15. The pool is great but the swim up bar is often closed and was closed all 2 days of our visit because of a rain shower. But they offer fresh towels and they will allow you to bring drinks to the pool as long as you buy them from the hotel. Theres also a mandatory $200 incidental charge that they will apply to your credit card at check in. You can add things to your room such as food, drinks and other amenities that have a cost. Those things will come off the incidental. One major note is that this is a valet parking only facility. You can choose to park outside the hotel or in the adjacent garage at your own cost and risk. But the valet charge is $35 a day. They will retrieve your car as many times as you need it and all that will fall under the $35 charge.

Paid months in advance so no refunds. No options or offers to help with the issue. I have visited the Galvez for over 50 years and will continue to do so. This particular visit was disappointing. Rooms: Nice sized room, clean. Food and drinks: Food was good, nothing outstanding. Cocktails are way overpriced.

If I could give this hotel 0 stars I would. My family and I have been staying here for over 20 years. I just recently booked our family beach vacation and had no idea how much had changed since 2020, the last time we were there. Apparently the hotel was sold in 2021 and the managing company was changed as well from Wyndham to Marriott. Our experience: As we were unloading, one of the valets ran over and immediately started taking our stuff off of the rolling cart frantically telling us that we could not take a cooler into our room. Our cooler was full of water since it was 100+ degrees out and the 2 complimentary waters in the room arent going far with our family of 5. We did not appreciate him touching all of our stuff and pulling all of our bags and personal belongings off. He told us our smaller cooler was fine; however, when we finally got to the front desk the AI staff started flipping out over the small cooler as well. This was after trying to get the rolling cart through the very heavy rotating front door that does not easily accommodate the carts. There is 1 actual door but it is marked for handicap use only. They do not make this easy. Then, you have to PAY to park in the parking garage which is across the street to the left of the hotel. Getting back from the garage to the Lobby is a hedge maze since they have a huge boom lift sitting in the way cordoned off with Caution Tape. In addition, we paid for a complete ocean view and when we got to the very small room, not only did we have a partial ocean view but the boom lift was DIRECTLY in front of our window. This was the crowning blow... we were outta there! The hotel itself when you walk in has completely changed looks from white/green with palm leaves and open and airy to what now appears red/black and makes you wonder what you have walked into. I would NOT say this hotel is family friendly anymore and I would NOT recommend staying here. We immediately checked out after 1 hour and drove to the San Luis Resort and they were super accommodating and a breath of fresh air from what we had just encountered. Very family friendly, huge rooms with a balcony, great pool area, helpful staff, huge free parking lot behind the hotel, easily accessible. Learn from our mistake and hope this helps!!!

Our recent stay at The Galvez Hotel in Galveston was a delightful experience. The hotels staff exhibited exceptional customer service, particularly during a minor reservation mishap. Their swift and accommodating response not only resolved the issue but also upgraded our stay to the coveted Room 501. While the hotel s ambiance and accommodations were exceptional, there was a slight hiccup during our dining experience. Our entrees were unfortunately overcooked. However, the waitstaff and kitchen staff responded promptly and professionally, ensuring our satisfaction. Overall, our weekend getaway was enjoyable, and we attribute this largely to the hotel s excellent service. We look forward to returning to The Galvez in the future.

We hosted my White Coat Ceremony at the Grand Galvez, and it was beyond exceptional. The hotel itself is gorgeous, but moreover, the entire team is so well-trained and helpful. I worked with Scarlett the sales manager for over a month, we shared countless emails to make sure things went perfectly, and she was so patient with my endless requests. We needed about 20 hotel rooms to host everyone and she made the process so easy!! Angie, the catering manager, was also a pleasure to work with--she provided us with the most beautiful set-up for the event, and coordinated directly with my caterers which made things so much easier for me. I could not have imagined a better place to host this event. On the day of our event, Rosa from the Galvez team was assigned to us and she was extremely attentive, repeatedly checking the room to see if any of us needed anything. We ended up needing to switch up some of the names in the rooms and we spoke with a very nice person from the front desk (unfortunately forgot her name!) who made the change happen immediately. I am genuinely so happy that I chose the Galvez for this occasion, because they went above and beyond in every way possible. I highly recommend them for a wonderful stay, and especially for any big events--they absolutely will not disappoint.

I wish there was a way to give ZERO stars! Prepare to pay a very high price for extremely poor service and be treated like dirt. It is a shame this hotel is a Marriot Autograph because it no where near compares to ANY of the other MARRIOT Autograph hotels. I ve stayed at several across the US and I ve had better service from a 7-11 gas station than at this complete joke of a luxury hotel. If you have any issue and decide to talk to front desk , you will be told to buzz off basically and to kick rocks. Good luck also eating at the hotel restaurant Monarch unless you like waiting 20 minutes or more just for a waiter to even acknowledge you have sat down at a table. The bartender finally came over to take an order and it then took another 20 minutes for even a glass of water at the table. Worst dining experience of my life. Pool and service at pool also is horrific and don t ignore also the fact they don t clean the pool daily and leave trash , plastic cups and leaves and debris all over to swim in with no one bothering to clean the pool. Hotel manager is a moron and completely blind to the utter disregard of how the hotel is being ran and he should be fired immediately for how poorly this hotel is being operated. We have stayed here for many years (20 years) and now will never stay here again. There was an idiotic hotel management group who bought the hotel a few years ago and I had high hopes to come back once Marriott bought the hotel in past year , but was beyond disappointed. Do NOT consider staying at this hotel unless you want absolutely horrible service and to be ripped off !!!!!!! I hope the Marriott high up executives and management see this review and fires the hotel manager Mr. D. Hill immediately because this is utterly sickening how this hotel is being ran and how the employees treat guests and all the other glaring issues !! Do not stay here !!!

I recently stayed at the Grand Galvez Hotel in Galveston, and my experience was quite mixed. Positives: The hotel has undeniable historic charm and is very picturesque. Its location is excellent, being close to the beach and the boardwalk, making it convenient for enjoying the local attractions. Negatives: However, I was disappointed with the level of hospitality we received during our stay. After a long day at the beach, we were unloading our cooler when a valet driver named Dennis loudly informed us from across the lot that coolers were not allowed in the hotel. While I understand hotel policies, his approach was rude and confrontational. When I suggested a more courteous way to interact with guests, he started arguing with me in front of other guests, turning it into a shouting match. As I headed to the elevator, another staff member reiterated that coolers werent allowed. I asked to speak with a manager, and Derell came to address the situation. He confirmed the policy but was initially dismissive until I mentioned my background in hospitality. Eventually, we complied and left the cooler in our truck. What really bothered me was the inconsistency in enforcing these policies. Later, we saw another family taking a cooler to their room without any issue. Similarly, my wife was told that children couldnt bring floaties to the pool, yet when we arrived, other children were using floaties and pool noodles. To top it off, at checkout, one of the concierge staff was more focused on texting than assisting guests. **Overall Rating: 1.5 out of 5** The Grand Galvez has great potential with its historic value and prime location, but the hospitality needs significant improvement. Consistency in policy enforcement and better guest interaction training for staff would greatly enhance the overall experience. Rooms: The rooms are very small. Which is understandable since a more of a boutique hotel.

This hotel has a guest preference in my opinion as I was profiled within 3 hours of being there. They need diversity training. I no longer felt like I could enjoy myself so I asked for a refund but they would still make me pay the first night ($364) and take my $150 pet fee. I didn t see the flexibility given it was their staff that attacked my person. Also, my room was dirty. The TV kept going offline and the oceanfront beach in front of them was dirty. The location on the strip is good but service from staff was very nice nasty. I filed a complaint with Marriott because each guest should feel comfortable and means should to taken to accommodate. Their business is hospitality. Noteworthy details: I wish I could post pictures as evidence of my comments. I don t see a link here.

Great location and love the exterior. They have changed a lot since we were here 3 yrs ago. Rooms were renovated but were small. The fridge barely holds a few bottles of water, and shower for some reason was high and small when you stepped in. If youre tall youll hit. My 5 10 husband could touch the cieling with his head. Wasnt really clean either there were stains. Service was great, just for the price and what we get in the room, not sure well come back.

We booked a getaway at this hotel that seemed super cute! However, it was far from it. The pictures were a little deceiving, and the staff was kind of bad. The front desk guy was so bad (the ladies were great and super nice) at communicating and making us feel welcomed. The bartenders at the pool were so condescending to me and my friends only, as they would attend to everyone else even though we were there first and we patiently waited for our turn. And lastly the valet guys were so annoyed to be there. None of us will ever stay there again. Furthermore the amenities are not worth the price. Rooms: Rooms are cute and tiny

Another Marriott property where you can tell they do not take care of their staff. Give your staff breaks and hire more people. They were also out of a lot of food in both the pool restaurant and Monarch, every single time I tried to order something I was told they were out and I had to pick something else. I expected a lot more from this property

Pleasure Pier with rides and Bubba Gump seafood. Lots of restaurants all within walking distance. Safety: Well patrolled and lit for evening walks and enjoyment. Watch the parking meter. 1 star review for our spa experience. We arrived 15 minutes early and were left in chairs after filling out our forms rather than being taken back to relaxation room. We were left there until after our service was scheduled to start. Our massages were shortened due to being brought back late. We had requested two female masseuses weeks ago when booking our appointment and there were no notes regarding that so there was a man and a female. When we talked to the front desk, they offered a small discount less than how many minutes shortened our service was. And they told us that neither issue was their fault. Hotel manager helped afterwards to make it right. I have been a guest many times but will not be back.

Rooms are smaller compared to a hotel you might pay $70 or less for. Our view overlooked a parking lot, and the restaurant that they had inside the hotel closed too early. The best view I was able to see was at the front of the hotel looking out towards the beach.

We had a great experience at the bar in the lobby all because of Ashton. While other workers rolled their eyes at us, she was attentive even though we were not sitting at the high tops along the bar. She was busy and still provided us excellent service with a SMILE, most important. Thank you Ashton for taking care of me and my dysfunctional family, and separate tabs, and all of the extras. Rooms: I wish there was a microwave.

While I was there, there were no beach loungers/chairs available except for by the hot tub. I had to move the chairs and the umbrella halfway across the pool area despite being told someone would help me. After waiting for 45 minutes, I just decided to do it myself. The following day there were none available at all, so I just decided to get loungers from cabana area from the beginning- because I didnt want to have to wait again. I was approached by a pool waitress who was very rude and told me that I was not allowed to move any chairs from the cabana area unless I wanted to spend $500 for them. Keep in mind this was at 3pm and no one was using any of the cabanas. Everyone was looking at us while she said it because she was so loud. A few people approached me afterwards and said they were embarrassed for me. At night time there was someone who kept coming in and out of their room (2 nights in a row) so I was kept up both nights listening to the door slam. When I tried to call to the front desk to let them know of the problem, the music would come on and then there was a busy signal. In fact, this happened the whole time I was there. The housekeeper also took a back of my dirty clothes (maybe she thought was trash) and when I let the front desk know they said they would get back with me but never did. I was eventually able to speak to the manager in the middle of the lobby for a brief moment and let him know of my concerns but I didnt feel comfortable because there were so many people around. The front desk attendant gave me his email which I believe was incorrect because he still hasnt replied to my email 6 days later. (I have the piece of paper that she wrote it on) I have tried calling multiple times this morning and they keep sending me to a full voicemail. I was in town for my fathers funeral and was trying to make the best of an awful situation. We used to go to this Hotel alot growing up, and so I was just trying to feel like I was with him. I spent 113,000 points on this trip plus $$$$ and am extremely upset. This just isnt right.

What is the point of checking in to a hotel that closes the pool because of supposedly bad weather. Swim up bar is closed. I can t cancel because I have to give them 96 hour cancellation, they didn t give me one when they closed amenities on me. This was all said to me by the snooty asian lady that left the younger Hispanic girl to explain to me. Come over and handle the complaint. Be a real employee who cares about the patrons. Leaving someone who was inexperienced is unfair and speaks poorly of management. I called hotel reservations to complain and front desk lied and said pool open. I asked about amenities, pool restaurant and bar. I have a pool at home. Why would I want to hangout here with nothing to offer? I wanted my money back and to leave this place. Only worried about their bottom dollar, not about the patrons experience. I will never stay here again. Finally they accepted to refund my night. Thank goodness

This is a review for the spa specifically. For the premium prices charged, one would expect a much more premium and luxurious experience. The facilities felt a bit dingy and grimey especially the womens locker room. The relaxation lounge was full of people conversing loudly, and the lounger chairs provided were not comfortable at all. They seemed to be made for outdoor use with a rough fabric, and a towel-like blanket that wasnt soft. Very limited refreshments or snacks provided. My massage felt good but my masseuse was speaking/conversing throughout and I was hoping to have a relaxing quiet experience as I do at most high end spas that I visit. My facial was average and lackluster. The manicure was average. Overall, I came here for a prenatal spa day hoping to soak up a luxurious & restful experience but left feeling a bit disappointed with the experience.

Recently stayed at the Grand Galvez. Some bad, but a lot of good. The shower experience was a zero. Zero water pressure, soap dispensers were stuck. Non-adjustable shower head. If youre going to charge premium rates, you would expect a nice shower. Not here. Rooms were small but expected for a vintage hotel. Beds were uncomfortably high off the floor, a lamp blocked the view of the TV, very little space in the bathroom. The hotels hot tub was poorly shaped and not comfortable for relaxing. They played continuous weird chic 90s style disco music at the pool: not very appropriate for the over 55 crowd. Valet parking seemed like the only parking available, and a daily charge of $35 plus is simply added to your bill with little explanation. There is a dress code at the hotel but could not determine how it would be enforced. The good: the staff was excellent, friendly and helpful. The grounds and the hotel were tasteful and clean. It smelled great. Valet service was excellent. Carpets were spotless. Excellent room service and cleaning services. Great location. Rooms were well insulated and noise free. Pool was nice. Food was good but not great. Solid 3 / 5 rating. Fix the shower, redesign the hot tub and turn the pool music off and we will definitely be back!

Had a great stay at the hotel. Valet parking was a little pushy in trying to get me to valet my car when there was open free street parking in the area. The front desk was very nice and helpful. The corner room was really nice and actually was quiet. The gym is ok, it is dated and needs new equipment but they do offer HIIT and yoga classes several days a week and only me and my wife signed up. Would definitely come back to the hotel! Walkability: The boardwalk and several other restaurants are in walking distance and the hotel had bikes you can use to make it further out. Food and drinks: The high tea Saturday afternoon dining event is definitely worth RSVPing in advance for. The Sunday brunch looked really good. The restaurant has good breakfast and dinner options and the lobby bar is really nice and has some good drinks.

Made the mistake of traveling Memorial Day weekend. This place charged more than 2.5x the normal rate. Knew that ahead of time and ok had the hotel been even close to worth it. Booked an ocean front room. Didnt realize their was no balcony, nor the windows were bolted close. Worse - they were so filthy (on the outside) that one could hardly see out. Add $35 +tax per night to valet, $16 for watery drink at the pool ($9 each for something for the kids). The pool doesnt appear as in the advertisement pics. The hotel looks appealing but has the oldness come through in places. Look elsewhere for a better value.

I as well as my family have been coming to the Galvez as our go-to hotel in Galveston for many years. The rooms have a beachy modern vibe that fits the hotel very well. The location is across the street from the beach with lovely views. One thing to know about the hotel though is its permanent residents, ghosts. The ghosts are a part of the hotels deep history in Galveston and give the hotel a unique charm that can be found nowhere else. The Galvez is truly one of a kind.

Stayed 4/19 an 4/20 on a whim. Room was oversized standard hotel room. 6. Noticed right away very stingy on espresso pods. 5. Minimalist refrigerator, about the size of a microwave. Cmon people... average motel has larger ones than you. 4. Speaking of microwave... none. Move the safe into the closet. Or put a microwave in the closet on top of the set of drawers. 3. Shower door didnt latch. When the a/c turned on, the door blew open. 2. Fancy shower needs an operators manual. 1. Thousand-dollar shower on ten-dollar water pressure. For $300/nite, Id expect a decent shower. Serious oversight on your renovation. Gorgeous exterior and lobby, but, as another reviewer put it, lipstick on a pig. A very expensive pig. Rooms: Nice. Oversized from standard hotel room. The only justification for $300+/nite rooms is the exterior and lobby. Walkability: Easy access to the beach right across the (busy) street. Noteworthy details: Very low water pressure. Dont expect much from the fancy shower fixture.

VALET IS NOT MONITORED BY VIDEO. Please beware when staying here that the valet parking is not monitored appropriately and there is no video footage if something happens. My husband and I stayed here this past weekend and had a great time until we picked up our vehicle and my gun had been stolen while under their supervision and management has no way to ensure that your vehicle is monitored appropriately. I take responsibility for leaving my gun and taking for granted the fact that this facility is so nice. Once you hand over your keys and they assume responsibility for your vehicle, know that there is a chance that you will be subjected to thieves working for the facility and zero accountability.

To elevate the guest experience, it would be appreciated if slippers were provided in the rooms. While the bathrooms aesthetics are commendable, attention to detail is required as the mirrors show signs of corrosion, and there are visible holes in the walls, presumably from prior renovations, that have not been addressed. The culinary offerings, particularly the grilled dishes, are exceptional and a highlight of the stay. The breakfast selection is satisfactory, but there is room for enhancement to align with the offerings typical of other luxury establishments. I really wanted to like this hotel but it disappointed with every opportunity. I would not recommend staying here. They cut costs in all the wrong places - the hairdryers, steamers and coffee pods in the rooms are very poor quality and break apart. The rooms are smelly, musty and rusty in places. The windows do not open and are so dirty you cannot see through them. Very poorly managed noticed in several areas: coffee, pool, cleaning. Even though there is a complementary coffee and dedicated area, there was no barista for the 2 days we were there so we could only get filter coffee in the morning. The pool bar was not open the whole day, but they had 3 people running around cleaning it. The carpet in the lobby seems to be the most important thing in the hotel because it s being loudly cleaned and vacuumed all the time, especially when guests are there for dinner and breakfast.

I have plenty of stays in properties like Edition, W, St. Regis you get the idea, now let me tell you, this property is has an allure that I simply cant compare to ANY other property. I absolutely love it, the guest experience literally from everyone is unbelievable. This is from the valet parking, check in staff and the restaurant staff!!!! I have been fortunate to have Alexus as my morning server, young female, WOW!! TOP NOTCH. I cant recall the gentlemans (host)name at the entrance, this guy is like the type of server you see in movies, his presence, stance and how he interacts and guides the younger servers is simply amazing. My business is in the tourism and cruise sector so these things matter to me. In conclusion, if you want an absolutely amazing guest experience, this is the property for that. Kudos to management, these things dont happen accros every department of a property by chance. 10 STARS!!!! During our stay in this hotel, its great to know that we could get our coffee fix right at the lobby. 1911 deserved a shout-out. Yummy coffee hot or cold, grab one for yourself even if you werent a hotel guest.

Every time I visit the beautiful island of Galveston. I must always head to the Hotel Galvez to see my favorite bartender. Sarah Ann has been incredible from her courtesy to her service. Her martinis are to die for! 5/5, if I could give a higher rating I would!
