This was a little while back but I felt it should be told. I come here because me and my father used to when I was younger so it holds a special place in my heart. But I went and ordered 2 pancakes and I wasn t able to finish the other one. The old waitress came by and said you should ve ordered one if you weren t going to finish the other one I haven t gone back since she told me that. I am a waitress and I would never say that to a customer she was unprofessional and rude. When I go back I ll just ask to not be served by her. .

This was our second visit to Sweet Temptations, and it was just as great as our first. The restaurant can easily be missed as it is tucked away from the street in a small strip mall. The menu is extensive for both breakfast and lunch. The food is fresh, and the service is quick. Prices are right too. A definite stop if you want a delicious meal.

I ordered the huevos rancheros and for $8.99 you get 2 eggs, fried corn tortilla, ham and a side (fruit,beans or potatoes), the Bacon was extra $2.99. The eggs were cooked perfectly cooked over medium,the salsa for the eggs was surprisingly good, the ham and tortilla was also very good, the potatoes were fresh made to order but not my favorite, the bacon was extra but tasty, the black refried beans were delicious. I would recommend toast/beans or something else included with this dish so that the plate doesnt look so empty, i had to add an extra to make the plate look decent. Overall I was disappointed with my food, I came here 2 years ago and none of my suggestions were considered, I dont see myself returning here.

If you are looking for a place that serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner at anytime of the day this is the place to come to. Here, youll find not only delicious food, but also a warm, family-friendly ambiance and great country music. The owner is really sweet. She was very welcoming and kind to our baby. Our waiter, equally remarkable, he provided great customer service. Although this wasnt my first visit, my fiancé, his sisters, and his sisters boyfriend had never been. I had a Dr. Appointment in the area. I googled breakfast places and this popped up! I am so glad it did. It was a lovely experience from start to finish. My husband had an omelette and I had the quiche and a 1/2 order of french toast. It was all delicious. The coffee was really good too! Here was what was amazing.. everyone was super friendly including the owners. My husband and I owned a small restaurant before we retired here in the RGV so we know what great customer service entails and these folks have it! They are genuinely nice! Shared parking lot with nearby businesses, and if you come during busy hours/weekend youll likely have a hard time finding a reasonably close spot. Listen up here foodies. I popped in here for the very first time for dessert. I had the Dutch Apple Pie, and took it up another notch and went A-La Mode. Ice cold vanilla ice-cream making contact with a nice portioned slice of the apple pie was heavenly! Check this out...this is just not only a dessert place...breakfast is served, ALL DAY!!! They have amazing sandwiches, salads, and a myriad of entree choices for lunch. Open at 7am and they close at 3pm. I will circle back here once I stop in for lunch. Absolutely loved the food here! First of the waffles are sooo fluffy and yet with a nice crisp on the edge. With a little added banana and whipped cream, delicious! Also, the omelets are HUGE! You could definitely share the plate. But you may not want to, the omelet is stuffed with meats, cheeses and veggies. Even the side of fruit was delicious. It came with some kind of flavored cream cheese that was so yummy. My husband got a side of potatos and thos were so flavorfully seasoned. Cant wait to try what else they have! Totally recommend this place for Breakfast/Brunch. Update: weve come back several times. The meatloaf is a go-to for my husband, and I like the chicken fried chicken. Didnt enjoy my experience here. Its a very small and outdated looking restaurant. Similar to what you see in Kitchen Nightmares before Chef Ramsay spruces it up. The food was average and service was okay. They also dont have a sling to put a baby car seat if you are bringing an infant. The hostess turned a regular high chair over so the bottom was at the top (which is a HAZARD). When she did this, I said, there is a sticker on the bottom of the chair that says not to do this. She looked at me puzzled and I opted out from putting my infant on this high chair. We were so close to the table next to us that I could hear them quietly arguing. It was an unpleasant experience. Truly.

This little spot is a hidden gem! I make sure to visit whenever Im in the area. Their food is all homemade and tastes wonderful! Im a perfectionist when it comes to desserts. But I must say that they have a dessert selection that is incredible - including pastries, cobblers, pies, apple dumplings - all from scratch and even as good as my homemade desserts! The owners are so friendly, attentive, and hard working! From what Ive seen they treat their employees like gold! Great people, food and work ethic; they stand out in the crowd of restaurant choices! We came in earlier in the week for our first time and had a wonderful experience. The ambiance, service, and food we re absolutely amazing! You can tell the food is made fresh and from scratch as advertised. Our server Carlos was extremely efficient, helpful, and very knowledgeable. I have left my previous review below, but I just went again this past weekend and I felt like I had to change my rating. It was perfect! Delicious coffee, delicious quiche, delicious caramel banana pie. They were super busy, but kept the wait to about 15 minutes. Simple menu that has been done extremely well. The ONLY downside is the size, but I feel that it helps give you that feel that you can only get from a good breakfast place. They have taken the position of best breakfast place in McAllen... OLD REVIEW Very nice breakfast spot, but due to its location I tend to forget about it. They also sell a lot great dessert pies. They keep some pies in stock that you can buy per slice, but if they do not have the one you want you can order the whole pie!! EVERYONE NEEDS A WHOLE PIE... 1 slice is never enough... It is a little small and tight if inside if you are planning on dining in for be aware of that.

Sweet Temptations is a golden nugget restaurant in Mid Town McAllen , when relatives or friends come and visit we will have a late breakfast, and so every-time they visit again it s a must go restaurant!! JP is so courteous and simply ensures if everything is Ok!

This place is theeeee place to eat. Its pricy but in my opinion its worth it. I always get service from some waiter and hes a cool guy hes very professional so I always tip him. The food is on another level I usually get the breakfast but the lunch looks good from what ive seen. Whoever is running this place seems to be doing a good job. Take care of your cooks cause theyre doing a great job and that waiter guy too.

First time here .Food was ok. Place got a little warm inside with all the people packed in there. A little outdated place for older folks is the best way to describe it. Can definitely see that correlation considering they also had Fox News playing on their tv the whole time. Yikes.

We transferred to Houston 5 years ago. Whenever we visit the valley we make sure to drop by sweet temptation. Their banana caramel pie is the best! We buy 2 whole pies to bring back to Houston.

If youre like me, you always compare the meal to what you can make at home. This was one of the very few places where I could say the food there is better than at home. Whats even better is that the owners greet you upon arrival and ask you how the meal was as you leave. We had breakfast there and the menu had many choices, but not too many to make things difficult. The food was excellent and I highly recommend this location.

Love everything Ive tried especially the crispy side of potatoes, biscuits and gravy, the awesome syrup for the pancakes, oh, and the big waffle with strawberries and whipped cream.

So glad we stopped at this place for a quick brunch The reviews did not lead us astray. We were greeted by one of the owners when we arrived who walked us through the entire menu. The only downside here was having too many options! I powered through and ordered a build your own breakfast with added French toast. My fiance ordered an omelet plate with tortilla soup. Everything was so fresh and unique. You can tell they stress on using high quality ingredients, no preservatives and make everything from scratch. They make all their own breads, sauces and even maple syrups. the desserts looked awesome but was too stuffed to have any. I will definitely be back soon to try their lunch options. We showed up 30mins before closing and we didnt feel the slightest bit rushed. Felt like warm, homestyle eating. Cant wait to go back again. Edit: I forgot to mention the breakfast potato slices! Probably the best breakfast potatoes Ive ever had. They look like potato chips but are hearty slices with just the right amount of seasoning. Will definitely be having dreams about these taters. Vegetarian options: Veggie omelets, salads, and plenty of room to order something off menu to fit any dietary restrictions.

I love eating at this little gem in McAllen! The food is amazing - Ive never had something I didnt like. The service was exceptional and they seated our party of three quickly. In the past, we have also gone here with much larger groups (12+ individuals) and the service was still exceptional and quick. It is a little cramped at times, but this place is definitely a must when you visit!

Ate breakfast here with a friend early on a Friday (before 9am). There is very limited seating, small tables, not much elbow room. I didn t like the outdated decór and carpet. Waiter was very nice and attentive, but we felt pushed out because of lines of people waiting to be seated when we weren t finished sitting, done with our food but wanting to talk and hang out for a while. The waiter kept looking at our table and waiting for us to leave because of the other diners needing a table. Food was just OK, nothing out of this world (biscuit with gravy, scrambled eggs, veggie omelet, fruit, and 2 coffees). I won t come again because of not feeling like we could ve stayed and hung out to just sit and visit. I d rather go to Denny s next time. 2.5 stars food.

I can t believe i haven t review this amazing place. We live next door and been coming here to eat for years. The food is always amazing, staff is always friendly. The owners are the sweetest persons and very attentive and kind. I feel like home whenever we go eat there. My favorite,the migas a la mexicana for breakfast along with the waffle wich is my husband favorite. Everything is made with fresh ingredients. So yummy so delicious that as I m writing this I m salivating. I recommend this place 100% And if you want to try lunch i recommend you the chicken alfredo.

What an adorable little place. It smelt so good it was hard to think of what I wanted to order. So, I ordered lunch, but got a pancake as an appetizer (dessert first, lol) The atmosphere was so cozy my lunch date and I were there for a couple hours. Will definitely return and take my hubby
