This has to be the best Chinese food in north Texas. It s a scratch kitchen. The food is cooked fresh. The veggies are always fresh. You will not be disappointed. Give this place a try.

Did a 2Go order. Food was ready upon arrival & neatly packed. Their Orange Chicken is very good. Looks like there sauce is made in-house. I found several orange peels in the chicken which really added to the flavor. It has a good spice with the dry Chiles. Fried rice was good also.

Decent food if youre craving some Chinese food and are in this area. Good portions. Not spicy at all for me. The dishes had little heat and not as generous with the actual spices. Could use more five spice, sichuan peppercorn, or hot chili oil. Got the scallion pancake, bbq pork buns, happy family dish with fried rice, and the boneless crispy chicken. Scallion pancake were thinner but still tasty. The bbq pork buns were typical taste, this is the taste I was looking for. The bun could be softer, its not as fluffy as other places Ive been. Happy family dish is a meat combo with chicken, beef, and shrimp plus some veggies like broccoli, carrots, and snow peas. Overall taste wasnt as strong. I had leftover and added some chili paste to it, made it so much better. Ill have to ask if they can make it spicy for me next time. My dish came with fried rice but it wasnt very good, a bit too fried cause it was harder and too dark. Id stick to just plain white rice next time. The crispy chili chicken was the best dish we ordered. However it could also use more spice! Im used to this dish being spicy and more flavorful at other restaurants. Id say its probably catering more to the area its located at, hence the lack of spicy and other spices. Overall good for the area and Id come again.

Unfortunately, this place didn t pan out, primarily because of the food. Had the sichuan chicken, it was essentially boiled chicken pieces in some sauce, which didn t taste like sichuan at all. The fried rice was bland, noddles were super average, the best part of our meal was the veggies. Service was nice, the place is clean, but I definitely would never repeat.

My family and I really enjoyed this Chinese food, and everyone liked their food. I ve ordered chinese food from several restaurants in Frisco and this restaurant has the best General Tso I ve tasted, and the best rangoons I ve tasted. This is the best Chinese food I ve found in Frisco. They know what they re doing. The only issue is the portions aren t what I m used too. The take out containers should be packed full. No Chinese restaurant here in this area I ve gone to actually fills the takeout containers all the way. It s nuts, and they all charge more than places from out of the area. If this place packed the containers full, they d be perfect. Right now, at least I finally found a place that cooks they re chinese food correctly. Thank you Jesus.

Cant recommend. Tried it tonight for dinner. Entrees were acceptable, eggroll appetizers were horrible, and the service was apathetic. What knocked this down from a 3 or 4 star to a 1 is this: The kitchen is visible from the dining area, with a head chef, his helper, and various other people scurrying around. I saw one man come from the back of the kitchen to the window chewing food, and then start digging with his fingers into his teeth to pull something out. Pretty funky and not what you want to see in a kitchen, but I figured maybe hes not touching any plates. He goes away comes back and continues his excavation into this maw to pull out whatever morsels are stuck back there and proceeds to start plating food! Nooooo! I approached the window to see if this was in fact what is happening and was stopped by another staff member. I asked is this person preparing food?, to which she answered yes. I explained what I saw and she said that he was only doing sides or appetizers. I guess sides dont count as food. She did thank me for saying something, but I dont get the feeling it means that much or itll stop unhygienic habits. First and last time. Looking forward to whatever restaurant comes next to this building after they close.

This place is awesome! Really delicious and authentic food! I like their DanDan Noodle a lot. The owners are from Sichuan, China, a place famous for spicy and delicious food. That explains a lot why their food is good and authentic! Their delivery and takeout are quick. If you choose to dine in, the place is large, so you can bring a big group of people. They have a few TVs there, so you can go when there is sports games. Overall, an all-around place with many options that are delicious! I ve been there many times and will keep going!

888 is one of the best Chinese restaurants in Frisco, because of the authenticity of its food, the quality of the staff s service, and the flexibility it provides through the consistency of its food. Typically, when you order pickup or delivery of Chinese food from other places, the food quality isn t as great. That doesn t happen at this place. I ve done it many times and have always had positive experience. This gives me confidence, so I don t have to go to the restaurant to taste the delicious food. Being from China, I could also attest that the food offered here is authentic and reminds me of home! Staff is nice too! Owners are around most of the time. I ve chatted with them a few times. They are cool! Overall, hands-down my go-to spot in the area. Highly recommended!

This place was great. We got 5 entrees with 2 appetizers for a great price, plenty to feed a family of 5+. We got the soup pork dumplings and the regular dumplings pan fried as the appetizers and the garlic shrimp, sesame chicken, Mongolian beef, garlic beef, the Eggplant dish as the main entrees. The garlic shrimp had a sweet sour sauce, which I was not expecting, and all the dishes had a decent spice to it. Great flavors and portion sizes, definitely good for sharing or traditional family style dinner. The service was okay. They were very fast to bring out the food but did not seem the most organized. When we first entered, they did not seem to notice us but just sat us without menus and later gave us the menu after ordering our drinks, but otherwise the service is good and they are very kind.

Wontons we re rubbery and cold inside. Scallion pancakes were really mushy and greasy. Fried rice wasn t fried rice. Soup dumplings/buns had a broth that was too salty. Chardonnay was over priced. Biggest issue - they brought all our food at once -because they didn t have enough wait staff? That was the excuse. There are better options for Chinese food in Frisco and Plano.

Today I witnessed an older guy brush his nose and the other cooks laughing like it was funny, so I stood up to watch kind of make me think what are you doing? I really hate to eat my dinner but don t really want to criticize what appears to me what I seen was gross. Management really needs to crack down on their cooks eating while preparing customers food. It s unsanitary. It needs to be a designated area for their workers to eat not in front of customers

My husband picked up the order he called in this evening. There were several bagged orders to go sitting on the counter. He asked which was his twice and was told to take that bag. When he got home he realized that it was not our order but was an order for someone named Patrick (printed on the receipt that he couldn t see in the restaurant because he didn t have his reading glasses with him). We had already opened the bag when we realized it was not our order. He then called the restaurant to tell them that he was given the wrong order. The woman at the counter insisted that he had taken the wrong bag and was asked to bring back the food he had been given. When he arrived at the restaurant, the woman at the counter took the order for Patrick which had been at our home and repackaged it in a new bag. She then was about to hand the same food repackaged in a new bag to the Uber Eats driver who was there to pick up Patrick s order! My husband alerted both the other employee at the counter and the Uber Eats driver that this food had been in our home. We opened it and had it on the table in our home. She had no way of knowing that we hadn t taken a bite of it (we didn t by the way) but we could have. She had no issue serving this returned food to another person who was completely oblivious to what happened! Absolutely disgusting!! To top it all off, the woman behind the counter was rude the entire time and continued to blame my husband for taking the wrong order . She also refused to remake our order which had been sitting there for more than 25 minutes at that point. I sincerely hope that management is made aware of this situation and rectifies it quickly. This is unacceptable behavior and breaks all sorts of health code violations. I m sad that this happened as we have loved this restaurant until now.

I do not understand why this place isn t rated 5 STARS! I ve had all the Chinese food spots around Frisco area and have not like them, because of the taste and many other things but wow this place has checked off every box.. the amount of flavor. Thankful I finally found my go to spot.

We went in to try it out and at first we really enjoyed the cucumbers with garlic sauce and the edamame. Then our main dishes came out and they were EXTREMELY SALTY. Everyone is super nice and friendly. We will try it again and hopefully its just right.

Stopped in on a Monday night about 45 minutes before close. First time Nd enjoys the ma po tofu. I always try it when I see it. This version is more of a hot oil based with fragrance and spicy. Also had the spring rolls and dumpling soup which were both good. Friend ordered the chicken sesame which was a large serving. All in all this is an authentic place. Dont let the name throw you off

Great food, however, please review the price of rice on dishes. We always order beef in chili oil and it comes with 1 rice, but we know it serves 2 or even 3! Ridiculous to charge extra for another bowl of rice at these prices. Update that and I ll change my review.

Wow, this place is an absolute gem. I haven t had Chinese food this good in over 30 years, and it might actually be better than my childhood favorite. I m not in this area often, but when business brings me this way, lunch will definitely be at 888 Cookhouse.

Ordered the orange chicken and jalapeño beef. I m a spicy lover so wanted to try some of their spicer dishes. Orange chicken had a good breading/crunch to it and chicken was tender. Jalapeño beef was ok, has alot of peppers but just wish had more kick. Went during lunch so the lunch portions were definitely a good size to satisfy for the $. Service started out slow as seen other patrons arrive 5+mins after and get served while we were still waiting for food including soup. But the waitress was nice and kept making rounds with water. Its good enough to try for other menu items to see if can be a usual spot.

The food was average/decent. Not exceptional flavor. Sweet and sour chicken for our son had really poor quality vegetables. Certainly not 4.5 stars. Royal China Restaurant Has 4.4 stars for instance in Dallas and has a long wait and is full most nights. Yen Jing Chinese Restaurant Has 4.4 stars and is in Greenville, TX and still much better food. So its not a small town thing. Prices were on par with much more upscale restaurants, but quality was middle of the road for Chinese take-out or delivery. Will look for other options in Denton/Little Elm/Frisco

Purchased 2 dishes by phone, chili sauce crispy fish and cumin lamb. Too much flour covered fish in chili sauce crispy, and it is hard to find fish meat buried. I wonder if I was eating chili sauce crispy FLOUR. Cumin lamb dish has some meat, which is not chewable. Very disappointed!

Awful attitude! We had a minor app issue with chowbus. So, one of the waiters called us letting us know. Totally understandable, and we simply reordered via phone, and contacted chowbus for cancellation right after the call. Simple right? No .We received a call about 40 minutes later from another waiter talking over us nonstop saying it s not their fault and that we have to contact chowbus. The worker kept repeating do you understand it s not the restaurant s fault ok? I m just saying It s not on the restaurant since it s 3rd party app ok? So it s not our fault ok? If you get billed twice it s not our fault ok? Those were his exact words and he didn t even get us a chance to explain. I do not know what s with this worker s issue but we felt personally offended because we simply reordered our food, paid and left. Anyway, we lost our appetite after he called us letting us know how much fault for minutes nonstop, not letting us talk when it was simply an app issue. Bye and good luck to the restaurant lol

First time dining at 888 tonight. A couple of thoughts from our dinner: Ordered MaPo Tofu, spicy wonton, shrimp fried rice, and boneless chicken. * The service was prompt and friendly. * The decor was simple but nicely done. The restaurant was bright and very comfortable. * The food was served timely, hot, and for the most part pretty tasty. Being from Taiwan, I know authentic Chinese food. 888 is pretty good on that scale. To the management, Id like to make a couple of suggestions: The shrimp fried rice I ordered was sweet, like sugar had been added (not a fan). The rice used in the restaurant is what my mom used to called army rice. Its just too firm/hard for me (maybe change to a better grade). Other than that, overall, I thought its a nice place with good food and I will definitely go back to try other dishes on the menu. P. S. Since you already have dim sum on the menu, if youll consider having real dim sum on Sundays with carts, steam baskets (like Kirin court or JS Chen) that would be so amazing and youll be the ONLY one doing it within 20 miles...set you apart from the other Chinese restaurants.
