I have only been with Dr. Kay a few days, but in this brief time, he has already accomplished more in an effort to diagnose what is wrong with me than the previous doctor did in 6 months. His attentiveness, knowledge and unrestricted ability to get things done is more than appreciated, and a very welcome change to the status quo of healthcare today. Highly recommend.

Dr Kay works to solve your problems.. Not mask them.. Ive suffered allergies and resulting sinus infections all my life.. 90% reduction in allergy symptoms and not a single sinus infection since he zeroed in on the problem.

Dr. Kay has been my primary physician for about 4 years now. He has advised me through gallbladder surgery, hormone imbalance, high blood pressure issues, etc. However, if you are looking for a holistic approach to medicine He is for YOU. At one point, knowing I m hyper-focused on my work, he asked about my vacation plans. He believes in your quality of life not just physical ailments, but mentally and emotionally as well.

Dr. Kay provides great care for both functional medicine and primary care. Weve been his patients for over 3 years, and highly recommend him. Recently, my father-in-law unexpectedly passed away, and my husband would be officiating the memorial service within the next few days. If that wasnt difficult enough, as we were packing the car to leave for my in-laws home, my husband had a kidney stone flare up. Dr. Kay was quick to respond to the urgent request, and quickly ordered the meds necessary for us to make the trip. He gave us a list of things to do, what conditions would necessitate getting to a hospital, and prayed for us. He reminded us he was just a text away if we needed him, and he checked on my husband multiple times in the days following. It was a great comfort to have Dr. Kays skill and compassionate care at such a difficult time. His instructions and Gods grace gave my husband a pain-free window of time to beautifully conduct his dads memorial service!

Dr. Thomas Kay saved my life. I was having a lot of pains in my right side and he happen see me Right away! Thankfully he told me to go to the ER right away! The doctors at the hospital were saying Your doctor was right. He was spot on . I had my appendix taken out and Dr. Kay s fast thinking diagnoses saved my life. Thank you Dr. Kay!!!

If you re looking for a new primary care doctor, I highly recommend Dr. Kay and Rebecca. They are very responsive and listen to your concerns. You can text them anytime, even if it s urgent. If I weren t moving out of state I d stay with them indefinitely. I cannot recommend them enough!

We were referred to Dr. Kay by a good friend when we simply asked our pediatrician at the time some vaccine questions for our newborn son. It was very alarming when they could not provide any answers to our questions, immediately treated us differently and were told we would be dismissed from their clinic if we did not follow the CDC vaccine recommendations. Dr Kay was able to not only answer our questions but provide valuable research and data. He is prompt if we call or text him with any questions. You don t have to call a receptionist who then gives a message to a nurse and you wait forever for a call back. Our sons wellness visits have been super enjoyable. We do not feel rushed and feel important. One time I called him bc I googled something and he was so funny. Told me I was restricted from social media and google for a month! Told me to pray out loud to my son too. In todays world, he s a breath of fresh air and we are thankful for our friends referral.

Im so pleased to have Dr. Kay as my personal physician. While he is a very nice and kind person, he is a very good physician and current on both standard therapies and new research in patient care. When you work with Dr. Kay, hes there for you when you need him and he makes things happen fast. In my case, I was concerned I may have an appendicitis and I reached out to him and he concurred that it may be appendicitis. He called a local imaging center and within 10 minutes was back with me and had scheduled me an appointment for a CT with contrast about 2 hours later. He spoke with the radiologist beforehand and asked for a STAT read. Within 10 minutes of the CT being complete, Dr. Kay had called me with the radiologists conclusion that I did have an uncomplicated (no evidence of perforation of the appendix) appendicitis. He informed me of the latest research revealing that 75% of uncomplicated appendicitis patients respond to a course of antibiotics alone and dont need surgery. 30 minutes after his call I had picked up the antibiotics he called in for me at HEB Pharmacy. 5 days later I was 100% resolved without any symptoms. This is high level quality care which is almost unheard of in human medicine and Im extremely pleased. Hes taken medical care back to the way it used to be when you actually have a relationship with your physician instead of being forced to speak to a nurse every time you want to talk to your doctor.

Dr. Kay is hands down the best doctor Ive ever worked with. His desire to address the root causes of ailments and focus on total health has lead to me feeling the best I have in years. The fact that I can contact him directly is something I have never been able to do with my doctors before. When we discussed my health concerns he went above and beyond to test all possibilities and was able to diagnose what other doctors have missed simply because of a lack of complete testing. After testing, his answer wasnt just to put me on medications. Instead we developed a plan to increase my health, decrease my symptoms, and then retest in a few months to see the effects of the changes. In the past doctors have always prescribed me meds and sent me on my way. If you want a doctor who will listen to you, work FOR you, and be invested in your health, this is the place. I cannot recommend Dr. Kay and Direct Primary Care NB enough!!!
