Good food, service! Would have been a 5, but ordered salmon they delivered chicken, fixed it, delicious. However, ordered it gluten free, stressed it second time, and they brought salad with bread and croutons!

On walking in we where not greeted at all. So we sat our self after wait 5 mins. We sat for 10 more mins no one said anything to us there where 5 teens in the back just standing there. After many more people coming in they where not greeted as well they had to ask how do we get seated ... After lessening to what they where told we found out that you sat your self and had to go back of the restaurant in front of the kitchen to order and pay before you ate. Which I found odd due to the décor and look of the restaurant . When the food came it was good and the portions where fair. Only after watching one of the teen boys walk around table to table with my drink never ask my table he went back to the bar and sat it down I had to ask one of the young men passing by with that was my expresso frappe and he said yeah sorry. I just find it odd in the 1 i was there no one was greeted or anyone told thank you for coming ... I have all ways thought that to be rule 1 in customer service... So if you plan on going it is just a different version of a rosa café vs the nice welcoming restaurant i thought it would be ( not saying rosa cafe is bad)

Only reason I give four stars is because unless you sit at the bar, you dont get table service. Otherwise, we love their food! Brunch is our favorite, and they have loads of gluten free options, which is really nice! Family dinners are great to order in a pinch, our favorite is chicken Parm.

Upon entering, there was no signage letting you know if you can seat yourself or how to order. Finally asked someone and they let us know that you walk to the back of the restaurant and order. My chorizo breakfast taco was amazing which is really the only saving grace for this place. My kiddos chocolate chip pancakes were not cooked all the way and since there did not appear to be any waiter/waitress, I wasnt sure who to tell. Had to get up to ask for silverware, then napkins, then boxes. A lot of my complaints could be solved with a wait staff.

This was my first time to go to the restaurant and I had no idea what to do upon entering the restaurant. After being at the podium for 5 minutes waiting to be seated, I noticed there was a line and figured out you were supposed to order your food and then take a seat. I was unable to download the menu on my phone and wasnt able to find anyone to help me with getting a paper menu, so I turned around and left. Not impressed at all and wont be going back.

Disappointing. It was a Saturday and they werent very busy. Placed order at 11:20. Asked about our order about 12:15 and it was next. We finally got our food around 12:40. We were told they short staffed in the kitchen but the table next to us (that had only been there about 20 minutes) got their food the same time we did. There were three of us and 2 plates came out first, about 5 minutes before the last plate. The food on the first two plates (hamburger/fries & lobster eggs benedict) was lukewarm at best. The food on the last plate was fresh. None of the food was worth the 1 hour + wait.

Love the vibes - it feels like an old train station. My dad and I have breakfast here every weekend and I appreciate that there is at least one room without a tv. I really dislike tvs in restaurants. The oatmeal griddle cakes are amazing, couldnt recommend them or the texas challah french toast enough. Staff is super friendly!

Everything was tasty, my argument is I ordered a bowl of soup to go it took 15 minutes to get a bowl of soup and it was not busy. And then when I got the bowl to the office it was like half a bowl. Super disappointed I was really excited to be close to this place I ve heard great things but I am not impressed service was good. Paid for my meal in cash. The cashier told me they do not give change so they wanted me to round up to the next dollar. I went to my truck and got exact change. I have a problem with a business that decides not to give change when paid in U.S. currency in America and expects the consumer to simply pay more. If a business makes a no change policy then they should round down, not up. This was over 17 cents which isnt much. Its about doing the right thing if you impose a policy at your customers expense.

It was a nice quiet evening with good food. We tried the queso and it was very flavorful and the chips were very crispy. The hamburger was a hit made just right and the buns were so delicious. Theyre vegan tacos were absolutely the best! The staff was nice and courteous and the place is so clean makes you feel pretty comfortable.

Bartender was very busy and had a ton of tables and people sitting at the bar. So service was slow but she did great considering. It looked like manager came up to tell her something and totally interrupted her and didnt bother helping her or even noticing she was covered up. But the bartender politely listened and got back to what she was doing quickly. The sorbet was amazing. So was there house margarita. There sides were mediocre. The tomato soup was good. The old was a little high but drinks were reasonable. I would go back.

My dad wanted to order from here for his birthday. We ordered for the whole family. Got the food and only his was good. The chicken fried steak was so overcooked my mom didn t eat it and then the burgers were over cooked so whoever was making those on the 18th needs to some help. Looked like a nice place to eat but walked in and was told couldnt even sit down until ordered food and you had to scan the menu which is fine but we werent allowed to sit down. Were even offered a drink. I understand everyone is taking precautions but many places allow you to sit down and order food. My friends and I we went to this place yesterday. This was our first time. When we went inside nobody said helo or welcome to Black Walnut cafe. There were no smile. My friends impression is that someone in your staff will sit us down then take our order. But instead we had to go to front and place our order. I ordered online two items that totaled $24 and change. When I go to checkout, it sub-totaled to nearly $26, with sales tax then added on getting it close to $28. This is the first restaurant Ive been in since the pandemic. I was a bit nervous at first, but felt comfortable upon entering. They have a designated staff member at the door to open and close it, thus eliminating touch on a high traffic touch point. The GM Kelby was also at the front and was kind enough to explain their added sanitizing practices and digital menu via scanning a QR code located on newly placed social distancing floor markers. All staff wore face masks and gloves. Theyve also got a clear screen up at the register to minimize germs between customer and cashier. Tables were well spread out to practice social distancing, no bar seating and only every other booth was open. Cups were disposable and silverware was packaged to avoid being touched by someone else. I ordered their French toast, which was delicious and buttery! Overall, I just felt like I had an opportunity to be normal again, having breakfast with a friend while still feeling as though I did not jeopardize my health and safety. Thank you for opening up your doors and maintaining high standards for comfort and wellness!

We needed table for 8. They created it asap. All 8 said tasty food, will all come back. We have been back numerous times for breakfast, minimum once/week. All waiters/managers know us by sight. You pick up menu, then order at register, get your own drinks and silver ware. They do bring the food to the table, but this is not my idea of a full service restaurant. The food was very tasty. They did refill my coffee, but the cup was cold. When I mentioned this, theserver said they were out of the regular coffee but I could have decaf or some flavored coffee. Not what I wanted. If I hadnt paid at the time of ordering, the tip would have been considerably less. Perhaps that is why they set it up this way.

My coworkers and I always order through Doordash. This used to be our go to place for breakfast. I absolutely loved the avocado toast. The last two times we ordered it though, my avocados were black. Im not talking about a little bit of black, the whole avocado was rotten and black. It was disgusting. They also changed the toast. The food has really gone down hill and we are disappointed. Im not going to say that I will never try Walnut again, but it will probably be the Colleyville location. It seems to have much better standards.

Great little place. Im guessing they where understaffed on new years day. The food was good, but had to ask for extra butter and extra syrup. If you are easy going and not picky this place is for you.

My family and I visited this restaurant only once and not likely to return. There is no service, they messed up our order, the food was not good, and the place was not very clean. Also what they had to offer, the food and dessert was too pricey. To top that off, my older child got sick with diarrhea and stomach ache after having had dinner at their Flow Mound location. I dont recommend this restaurant.
