I thought this is a sanctuary Now its a business Inc.? Means corporation not a nonprofit This woman resells the horses The environment is pretty brutal She misrepresented herself when I sent over horses I paid for to save their lives. When the guy delivering them told me its totally substandard I told the woman Id pay for boarding there but keep them for myself. She basically told me I couldnt and kept them for herself. Offered a 501c3 paperwork for tax deduction purposes. Looking on her website she sells them to anyone for MONEY Animal Control did an investigation and they arent allowing her to take in any more of their horses. The environment is extreme poverty. The food supply is substandard. Being so close to the border especially where horses are slaughtered for meat weight is an extremely dangerous situation for these magnificent creatures.

Come volunteer! I just had my first experience here volunteering, and it was so therapeutic and fun :) I literally just showed up and helped, nothing more to it! The dogs are sweet, the horses are funny and nice, and Victoria is super chill. It was just me there, and she had me water the horses, which was fun. Because I got to know the horses personalities pretty quick! I also experienced brushing horses for the first time, and I loved it. Seriously, if you want to come and hang around and be around horses and animals in general, this is the place to do it! Riding lessons are relatively cheap, and I cant wait to start riding.

Went there for my first lesson today and when I got there I was informed that the person who was going to be giving the lesson wasn t there and they had left to Go to a school with some of the horses, I m a bit upset because I had to come all the way from the Northeast which was about a 40-45 minute drive and that s a lot of gas

This is an amazing place. To see the horses bounce back with so much hard work and dedication is amazing! The owner is very knowledgeable and you can tell that her heart and soul is in the horses. I love that there are so many volunteers/patrons of diverse back backgrounds and colors, just as the horses. Its beautiful seeing all coming together in unison to help these horses emotionally and physically. Highly recommend for a barn family and to discover/re discover the love for horses!

I absolutely love volunteering at horses unlimited they are a family ran rescue that puts the horses first in every way. I take my 8 year old daughter out to volunteer and for lessons every Saturday. Appointments are a must but Ms. Vicky always makes accommodations for walk ins and first time visitors. I have been volunteering at this rescue for 5 years. Horses unlimited is welcoming to everyone, I read a comment that called this place racist. I am shocked and appalled by this comment, I happen to know from experience and word of mouth this place has the most diverse group of volunteers, students and family that visit often and can attest to being treated fairly and professionally. I hope anyone wanting to be around horses that have been rescued from abusive and neglectful pasts can open their hearts and give this place a try. Miscommunication and misunderstandings hurts people and animals. let s try and spread love not negativity. Peace and love!

Real bad experience , my 8 Yr. Daughter and I came to this place thinking of becoming volunteers to help out with these horses in need of love and care, We went around noon time and the owner told us to come back between 3-4pm since horses were taking a break from a morning trail, and she was gonna take care of us. When we got back, she brought 2 horses and stated one was ready for my self and the other one was gonna be for my daughter, but walked out and left us there, until another girl w/curly hair came and started getting saddle the 2nd horse, then she took off w/him and without saying anything to us. I asked owner s daughter what happened to the 2nd horse that was gonna be for my daughter to ride, but she said her mom said just one horse for us . Owner wouldn t even talk to me or anything, the girl that took the horse didn t even ride him after all, and We even kind of felt racism, so I told my daughter to forget about volunteering at this place.

They give horses a chance to live I have seen what they do and it amazing most people think they are just rescues but they are more then that some of these horses were treating badly by before owners but miss Victoria helps them have a life and a home these horses have been through a rough part but miss Victoria helps them have hope and I think the spirit of the horse is what counts. I am proud to say I stand with Horses Unlimited to help and protect horses

It seemed to me to be a place that in my opinion needs a little more attention to the horses, but perhaps I should go other times to be able to give a broad opinion, I want to know how they are maintained and where one sends donations. I would like channel T48 to visit him so we can make donations.

We decided to set up horseback riding for spring break. Im assuming the lady we encountered was the owner, because she never introduced herself to us, either on the phone or in person. We called on March 2nd at 2:55pm ( had to check my phone log ). We set up horseback riding for 4 kiddos on March 15th at 10am at $15 per rider for 30 minutes. During first call she didnt ask name, phone number, or provide any information needed before ride. I gave her my name and she said ok we will see you on the 15th. Here we are March 15th and because it is a bit of a drive we got to the ranch 30 minutes ahead of time. I called her to ask if that was ok or to come back in 30 minutes. She responded that they couldnt accommodate us today and that we cant just show up. I explained that I had made arrangements with whoever it was that we spoke to on March 6th. She then said that we could come back at 1pm. We were back exactly at 1pm. I called to let someone know that we were out there and she came out, again I can only assume the owner because all she did was hand me the waiver form. She then had the kids follow her to where the horses were and walked 2 toward the barn area. We originally were told that all 4 kids could ride together, but when arrived she told us they would have to take turns, which is totally fine. She then asked which kiddos were the oldest and we pointed out my 9 year old niece and 6 year old son. She instructed them to walk the horses to the arena. Once there she said that she would help them up and then take turns. She had my 9 year old niece up on Dale at 1:19pm. Then instead of my 6 year old son getting on, she asked me to send her my 5 year old nephew. Both my niece and my nephew rode for 15-17 minutes (which I know because I was recording). We then switched to my 6 year old son and my 3 year old son. Both of which were up on a horse at 1:38pm and off at 1: 41pm. My mom asked if they could ride longer and she said that it was time to switch. My niece and nephew were on again for another significant about of time with my sons alternating for 3-5 minutes. My mom asked several times about my sons getting more time and again was told that it was time to switch. I couldnt figure out why she was running it like that. Next thing we knew our time was up. . . . . And we were charged $160. When I brought up the quoted $15 per rider per 30 minutes she said that when I got there I said lesson. She then said that the lesson included instruction and the $15 is for us to ride by ourselves. So we paid it. Her sign quoted $30 for a lesson but we were charged $40. Now I cant figure out what the deal with the timing of my sons rides, which I can prove was no where near 30 minutes except to say that they are mexican and my niece and nephew are white. I really hope thats not the case but really what could the reason be. All the kids were very well behaved, listened to instructions, and treated the animals with respect. Im glad the kids had fun and didnt realize the time difference, well expect for my 9 year old niece that asked why didnt Noah and Luca get the same time we did? I didnt have an answer for her. Im sad and disappointed and to be honest hurt for my kids.

Great place, they care about the horses and do everything possible for them. I wish as a community we all could do more to help Victoria and her team with all there animals needs. Im looking forward to going back and feeding the horses apples and carrots. Its a great experience the horses all noticed us as soon as we got there and all were looking forward to there treats. I wished we could have stayed longer just to be around them the experience was overwhelming with the gratitude from the horses they love the people who visit them...Everyone should go for the experience...I will be going back often and send monetary help even more often...I wish I could take them all home with me...lol

Is the only rescue like it in this area of Texas. It is ran by and wonderful woman named Victoria; she operates the rescus totally out of her own pockets and off donations. She has been operating her rescue since 2011 and does it because she believes in what she is doing and loves horses. Ive been donating to this place for a long time and have finally bought my first little horse and am totally satisfied.
