Plenty of space to bank fish however after sitting and watching heavy boat traffic all day it seems like there is a lot of unsafe boaters out there. One passed about 15 feet away from me on the shoreline and snagged up all of my lines as well. People also speed a lot throughout the whole area so be careful pulling out onto the road too.

Just moved to Lubbock and wanted to take a 5 minute drive around before I bought an annual pass and the older lady at the booth said I had to pay $16 to just drive through for 5 minutes. Lost an annual pass customer. Horrible customer service. Couldve left my credit card information or cash deposit incase I didnt come right back.

Very beautiful place to spend with family and friends, I loved spending the day there, but the biggest inconvenience there is the racism that alas from several of the workers, we had a bad experience in the part where they rent the jet skis (jet ski), the employees there treated us very badly, just for speaking Spanish, my husband was going to put his information, and I was telling him what to put in each space because he doesnt understand much English, and the woman and man started insulting and saying that I couldnt say anything, like telling me to shut up for no reason, that is a lack of awareness and empathy on the part of those employees, we kindly approached to ask and they treated us badly and were racist, when they have Latin roots like we. And I hope that those in charge of the lake fire those people, they only make the place look bad, and its the last straw that they treat customers badly, its not worth it. In this country and around the world we are all equal, and we deserve to be treated with respect, No to RACISM!!

They should have more control since they should not allow pets swimming in the lake waters because there are people and children who can contract infections from this type of uncontrolled practices . Dogs should not swim in the waters or be on the beach. I found dog excrement or manure on the beach . Lack of awareness of pet owners .

Quiet hours start at 10:00p, but our camping neighbor had their generator running all night. Other camping neighbors were friendly.

No percent. I rented a camp spot #17 but when it became dark they left on a very bright light making unable to sleep. I tried calling multiple times to change spots but no one was available to authorize this. I left the area after being there only 2 hours. I called af least 10 times over a two week period to inquire on a refund. They said they would get back to me but never did. I have no other choice but to call my credit card company to decline the charges. I do not recommend camping here unless you dont mind bright lights at night interfering with your ability to sleep. I do not recommend camping here AT ALL.

We left the campground before we even set up because we felt unsafe and the facilities were a mess. Neighborhoods with houses border the campground and anyone can just walk up to where you are camping. The bathrooms were a mess and trash was everywhere. It was very dark and there was little signage. We camp all the time and this is one of the first times we ve left a campground because I didn t feel comfortable. I have asked for a full refund. Do not come here, not a good campground.

Giving this 5, but really should be a 4.5 for the little things: Its a private community and residents are coming and going through the private gate along with guests. This should be explained. It has a late check out, so dont arrive too early. Campers take advantage of the 3pm check out. Dump station should be on the park map too. The good stuff: On the lake camping, great sunsets, fishing/swimming/boating from your campsite. Great bike rides and off road trails if you have quads or side by sides. The city is just a few miles away. Downtown is a 15 min drive. Definitely THE place to camp if youre visiting Lubbock, and you can score a reservation. We came in late Oct for great weather and no crowds.

It is a bit expensive to get in. But that is where the bad ends. It is the only good swimming and boating water for at least an hour around Lubbock. It also has camp grounds, picnic areas, beautiful views and lake houses that are fun to gawk at. I am very happy that we got the annual pass (340 for a family of five) as a gift and we are considering renewing it because this is a great place to get away quick to (10-30 min from anywhere in Lubbock) after work or school. And because the cost is high it is not over run with people, very relaxing and fun. We love it

Used to go out there to camp all the time as a kid and I loved it. I stayed one night last night and was forced to pay for the whole weekend. Over 120 dollars just for me and a friend to camp for one night. And tent camping has been narrowed down to a small, very unlevel area so tent camping was uncomfortable. Wayyyyy too overpriced. Same with the Cafe food. Not going back.

Came in for a one night stay When coming here with an RV plan on arriving during the day Most sites back up to each other and a large rig may be hard to park. Full hookups look to be an afterthought. Septic connection on wrong side and far from other hookups. I suggest that you skip it and just utilize the dump station. Water hookups could also be long since each site shares water Lastly is cost - spots are $32 - 40 there is an entrance fee so a full hookup none annual pass holder will pay $70

Scammed on camping. We reserved a tent camping site online for $30. We were shocked to have to pay another $30 to enter the park to use our reservation. About the time the ATVs and Harleys stopped cruising the loop some kind of power plant started up and kept going all night. It sounded like a jet in perpetual take-off. The lake itself is very pretty and this area was probably once a gem to visit.

But within 5 minutes of being in the water with our jet ski I got a ticket for being closer than 50 ft to another boat, it s something I couldn t avoid and I was cautious! after that I parked the jet ski and witness 16 people getting stopped And probably getting tickets I really didn t see any one doing anything wrong! People are just here to have fun and I get it safety first ! But it s ridiculous when. They stopped so many people in water crafts that where not doing anything wrong. Within an hour hour of being here no boats where in the water probably scared to be stopped. If you want to hang out at the lake it s fun but don t bring your water craft.

Business picked up later in the afternoon so to get a decent spot be sure to get there early! They do not have a lot of picnic tables so if you have a fold up table and are planning to cook out etc you will need it. The water has very low visibility but that s expected. There were a few food trucks but we brought our own food to cook but know it s there. No glass is permitted. There was a good amount of trash along the beach that we picked up on arrival so if you re reading this and you go don t be those people AND PICK UP YOUR TRASH

We had no choice but just to buy a day pass. We get in and its dead as can be and go park where we usually camp and stayed till midnight. The whole 8 hours we were there all we saw across the lake were 8 tents camping out, but they were full . Putting all the tents in one spot makes no darn sense with COVID if thats the case everyone camping is confide together. Before everyone was spreaded out through the lake apart. Doesnt that make more sense? Learn to treat customers better it doesnt cost you nothing.

Im new to the Texas region when it comes to the bodies of water. I decided on this date to go to this lake as Ive never been here. My goal was to observe the area, determine if it would be good fun with the kids. I never made it to the lake, never saw water. The lake requires a fee per person entering. I do not see a need to pay for a public body of water be paid for to measly look. I did not have a boat (which has its own fees above those of the per person fee), and did not have any fishing poles in my vehicle. As a result, I decided to go to a nearby lake that was free access to all and water was visible easily.

Research and plan your trip before you go!! My family decided to stay & camp here. We payed $75 for 5 people only to find out it was only till midnight. The person upfront didnt give alot of information about options staying there. We figured out due to covid they are limited to 20 tent sights and you have to pay for that too. I noticed there is spots for rvs/campers with electricity however there wasnt many camping spots either. Dont get me wrong it is such a beautiful place, its within a canyon and so many caves around it. I understand it costs to get in cause it is a gated community but it is WAY too much money. You can rent boats their and I think jet skies too. You can fling your best friend off an entertube or sit back and relax fishing while sipping a cold one. If your wanting to swim they have 2 or 3 beaches where its surrounded by netting however you cant go out very far cause the net is pretty close to the bank. I had fun but Id rather camp or go fishing somewhere else.

This place is a joke. They do not show the accurate price on there website. They wait until you show up and charge you extra per person when there website lets you add people to your reserved spot. Each person has to pay $15 per person per day, Plus you have to pay an extra $20 for you boat per day. This has to be the ultimate scam to get people to go thinking it s a better deal but in reality they charge you at the gate and well your SOL to pay since your already there. They need to be investigated for hiding there true rates. I hope this helps future families wanting to go here. Lake site isn t even maintained for these prices.

I stopped going to Buffalo springs a few years back because of how messy and dirty it d be. No matter when I went it was a disaster! I decided to give it another shot last week and WOW I AM IMPRESSED! The place has cleaned up so much! It was a whole new lake and vibe. Great people out there too. Seemed like everything just came into place. Overall an awesome experience- I m actually excited to go back!

It is a good place to go for a few hours, but I DO NOT recommend camping at ALL, they have stupid policies, I paid for two places and they did not respect it, and they did not let me place two camping houses in one place and it is a space where some can fit. 3 or 4, the guard The local police acted in a good manner, but I do accept that it was unfair and illogical. I will never return to that camping spot.

We stayed this past weekend. We did reserve ahead of time. Our RV space was very unleveled but we made it work. The snow cone stand across the street was amazing. We loved being next to the lake and enjoyed out time there. The bathrooms near campsite A were unclean. Other than that we will definitely come back! Employees and cops were friendly. We felt safe with the constant patrol.

Park is very nice as well as most of the campers. The only BAD thing is that there is NO security!!! You have to call the Sheriff office. The people next to me were blasting music till 2 in the morning! I called the number they gave me and it was the Sheriff office?

Paid 35$ for three students and a young child. First off - that s way too much, this place is not that nice. Austin parks cost less, which is saying something. Waited a long time at the gates and when we finally got in, we realized we didn t have a map. We tried to get one but they wanted us to wait in line again - to correct a problem THEY created. We ended up wasting our money and going home. Overcrowded, overpriced, over rated, poorly staffed. This place has really gone downhill. We should ve at least been entitled to a refund, of course that would ve taken more time than giving us a GD map.

Gate attendants should warn you before you pay for a boat. and 3 adults that theres a good chance theres No parking left at the marina. 1st time I had been there in 20 years decided to take the boat and spend a couple hours on the water. So busy no parking left after we paid at the gate . so my husband drove back out and an hour later we are back at the house. ..what a waste. no wont be trying that again.yall can have B.L. ;) aint worth it. ;)

It is such a beautiful place but there is trash everywhere , music was so loud , blurring, I ask them at the gate , why the sand area to sit is not clean, answer , they are short of people and they go there, it was a mess, a can of soda burst on my granddaughter, disgusting, but yet they charge to get in, love to go back but until it is clean, I wont

Gate fees are overpriced for what you get. Gets pretty packed on weekends in spring/ summer. The place to be if you like to drive around in a atv with loud speakers to annoy everyone in a 75ft radius. They have posted quite time in camp sites but the are not enforced. Decent fishing tho, if you can get in before the rec boaters show up. You think the Atvs are annoying...

I was extremely disappointed, I was expecting a nice RV Park, where I was put was just a clichy lot without even a blade of grass or a shade tree for my dog to lay under. I went to spend the night at a lake and could not even see the water from where I was at. I left after about 2 hours very disappointed, I will be hard put to ever go back here again. I asked to be moved to another location, and was told that that was out of the question.

Such a great oasis not far from Lubbock. Wonderful camping spots, hiking trails, water sports and good times by the camp fire. I do enjoy Buffalo Springs Lake weather it be a week or just for the day. Well worth it!

The environment is fine but the lake is too narrow. Its just about as wide as the detention ponds of any master planned community.
