My husband and I decided to bring the family to try Black Bear Diner tonight and boy are we glad we did! Our server Alyssa recommended the Chicken Avocado Club on Parmesan bread and it was like I died and went to heaven! She was absolutely amazing and definitely set a new bar for exquisite service! She went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we need, was super understanding and patient with us and the kiddos, and made us feel welcome with our little one (he can be a bit wild)! We will definitely be back and hope to have Alyssa has our server as she definitely made our experience a one in a million!

Well, we decided to try to give this place a second try since the first time was such a terrible experience. Maybe we just had a bad server last time. Well, its apparently more than one server. We tried it again and even let the server know we had a previous bad experience. He said he would do his best. At least this time, this person came back to check on us and do refills. Right after he brought our refills, our food was put out all at once. I was optimistic that this would remedy the issues from last time. Unfortunately, he then went over to the kiosk and started entering in his tips. Yet again, our food sat dead under the lamps. I started watching the time and t sat there for about 22 minutes. He was even told his order was up by another server who saw it sitting there after the first 5 minutes. This would have been fine, but he responded and kept entering his tips. After 20 min of dead food, he went up and looked confused. He looked at us and back at the food and stood there an additional 2 min. We then decided to leave because he was making no attempts to bring it out. This place is hyped up because its new. Burleson needs more places, so its getting more praise than it deserves. The service here is terrible. I wish I could review the food, but both times, I either never received it or it came out with hair in it or was so cold I had to send it back and get it a second time with smaller portions that were overcooked because they were rushed out. This is very frustrating but I dont think Ill be giving it a 3rd try. I might but the service here needs some serious attention

I absolutely love the Black Bear Diner. I havent been to one in years. The atmosphere is so much fun. The service was incredible and the food was so delicious. We were leaving Fort Worth after a crafts expo so this was a wonderful end to our trip. Thanks again! Kid-friendliness: Fun bear decor and a bear gift shop area. Adorable bear pancakes.

Service was OK at best, waitress kept forgetting to get us items that we requested. Sent back a tea because it was old and bitter, and she tried to charge us for it still. Food was sad. I was expecting a country diner, like their competitors cotton patch. Food was frozen, not fresh with little flavor. Won t go back for lunch for dinner, but will give them another chance for breakfast. Overpriced also BTW, for the quality that you get. This was in league with Denny s at best. Only reason not giving one star is because I haven t tried breakfast and my wife liked all the bears.

We tried Black Bear Diner for lunch today. Tea was excellent. Food was good. Waitress was good. We bought a bear claw to take home for dessert and coffee tonight. He wrapped in saran wrap and said heat for about 10 seconds in microwave. We did as instructed. This $9 Bear Claw was hard as a rock!! Couldnt cut with a fork and the knife wasnt much better. We were so disappointed Couldnt eat it. $9 in the trash...

I was so extremely pleased with The entire experience. I ordered the Bears choice with over easy eggs with Bacon and stuffed Blackberry French toast. Let me tell you . This was so delicious it almost knocked my socks off, but I was wearing shoes so there s that lol. The restaurant itself was extremely clean, but what I noticed most of all was there was a manager, (and I had to ask her name because I was pleasantly pleased to see how she was actively involved with the process of serving the customers and helping her team to the highest degree possible). Molly Crangle Was the manager s name? She made sure to attend to the customers and to be sure that the food got out in a timely manner.. She had a very pleasant demeanor and very personable with myself along with a couple other customers I seen she was helping tending to.. It s not often you find managers being a team player and I will tell you this (manager) definitely took my review to make it a five star. My hat go off to The staff and especially Miss Molly Crangle Just would definitely be my go to the next time. I am in town.

I ordered a turkey dinner with mashed potatoes and vegetables. The restaurant was under staffed and we were reminded of that often. Our food finally arrived and I started with the turkey first. It was truly awful. It tasted like it came out of a can and had too much sodium. This establishment in Burleson does not match the Black Bear diners I have been to in California. I really had high hopes for this restaurant but they fell short. Please make real roasted turkey or remove the canned smeat from the menu.

Weve been twice now. The 1st visit the place wasnt busy, theyd just open for the day and we were like their third guests. Service was great for our 1st visit. On our 2nd visit, we went at the hieght of Sunday brunch. The place was packed. It took the waitress 25 minutes to bring our drinks. The food came cold as we watched it sit on the counter for at least ten minutes. The food was still tasty, just cold and tasty. When we checked out, we purchased a blackberry cobbler to take home and eat that night. We asked the lady at the counter if there were any heating instructions? She said just throw it in the microwave. It does come in a metal pan! Needless to say, much of the staff are questionable about if they really want to be there. Some are really good and do like their work. Hopefully, you get one of the servers who likes working there for a better experience.

Entry was nasty. Was seated fairly fast. Ordered our food. Me and my wife share. Ordered enough we thought for both of us. Order breakfast. Asked for the bacon to be crispy. Got our plate. Not very much food. Was supposed to be 3 eggs. There was no way that was 3 eggs. It might have been 2. The Bacon was not crispy at all. They brought 1 syrup for 2 big pancakes. I ask the waitress about the Bacon. She took it back and brought it back to me completely burnt. It was even black in places. The waitress refiled my drink. But my wife put her coffee cup on the edge of the table. Never got a refill. There was a lady across from us that ordered the same thing. She got more than twice the food we got. And her bacon was crispy right from the start

If you apply for a job here and they hire you please be careful! The management team is very dishonest and not to mention talks alot of trash about their current employees. I did two interviews with them for a very simple dishwasher position. Everything was going great. They wanted my ID renewed because the one I had was expired. No big deal right?! Wrong. I managed to aquire my ID within 4 business days. Turned it in on a Wednesday and was told I would be scheduled ASAP by the female manager who lied directly to my face. 2 days pass and I call again and speak to James who says theyre working on it. Another two days pass and I speak to Colton the GM who is trying to fit me in the schedule and tells me to buy black pants and non slip shoes. Yet another several days pass and Im hit with a text message that basically said they moved forward with other applicants which would be fine if I didnt already fill out all of my W2 info on top of turning down other offers and resigning a new lease on my rental. I call again and James says the txt wasnt meant for me so I continue to wait until Im able to speak with Colton again. As expected hes as helpful as a house plant and basically tells me to F myself. Now this place that I have absolutely zero trust in has my information and that genuinely terrifying. I wouldnt trust these people with my payroll let alone my SS number. Im really glad to have other options of income available to me but even more so that I dodged this nightmare group of people who have subsuperior management skills.

Y all need to go ahead and fire whoever was working in the kitchen tonight, 8/31/2024. My family comes here frequently because it s decent priced and pretty decent food. Tonight I got French toast and i was served toast. I ve gotten this meal here regularly so I know what to expect. Waitress was amazing I can t remember her name unfortunately. She put in another order, the kitchen again dabbed a little egg and sent it to the table. Waitress again said that s unacceptable and put in another order and put it in a Togo box. Opened the Togo box and they must have gotten an attitude because the French toast was just egg bread hardly cooked with sprinkled cinnamon. I paid full price for everything and regret it deeply. Also the bathrooms tonight looked like that of a bomb of disgust went off. Leaving 3 stars instead of one because we ve been here many times and it has been good. Today was just big enough for me to leave a bad review.

Fantastic Experience at Black Bear Diner! I cant say enough about our delightful visit to Black Bear Diner in Burleston, TX! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by a warm and cozy atmosphere filled with charming bear-themed decor that really set the tone for a great dining experience. I had the meat omelette, and let me tell you, it was cooked to perfection! Every bite was packed with flavor, and the scratch hash was out of this world. And lets not forget the pancake it was absolutely awesome! My wife went for the chicken fried steak omelette, and she couldnt stop raving about how amazing it was. It came with delicious grits and a huge biscuit that was just the icing on the cake. Our waitress was wonderful, taking the time to explain everything to us since it was our first time visiting. Her friendly and attentive service made our meal even more enjoyable. Plus, the prices were really reasonable, making it a great value for such a satisfying meal. Overall, this was a 9 out of 10 experience for us, and we will definitely be back! If youre looking for a place with great food, a cozy atmosphere, and friendly service, Black Bear Diner is the spot!

I did not make a big deal because I did not want to be that customer. However, when this happens, how can I approach my server about this without sounding rude or agitating the cooks? Thank you.

My wife had a side salad with her burger that was good and well portioned. Our four kids each had something from the kids menu and each one of them loved it, from pancakes to burgers. First off, I really love this place, but they are lacking in the service both times Ive been to this location. I was really looking forward to the cold brew, all to be told that their machine wasnt working. Strike 1. I make cold brew and know there are several ways to do this, and as a chain, I know they have access to repairs very quickly. I wasnt happy about that my entire time there. Then I ordered what I always order, bears choice w Italian sausage patties, what I always get. This time I guess they spilled the spices in them because they were like eating fire. I love spicy, very spicy, and still I couldnt enjoy my breakfast with these. I then informed the manager, since at 1 time, I was in the food industry, and dont feel like I was taken seriously, or that he really cared. I wasnt looking for anything free. I made that clear, and his answer was would you like like some milk so I guess letting him know this so another customer doesnt have the same awful experience wasnt of any concern. If I had the time Id reach out to corporate, that way this place actually makes it. There was another family that just left after no service after sitting 10 minutes. So BLACK BEAR, if you want to succeed, you are failing at the simple things that allow you to do so. Sorry for the novel.

Last night, we went there to take Grandma out for a nice meal. We re always bragging about the Black Bear up in Alliance Town Center area, and she was like, they just put one near my place, let s go! So, we did, and it was the most disappointing meal ever. From the beginning to the end. 1. Tiffany was our second server, and this poor girl couldn t catch a break. She had a great upbeat personality which is far better than literally anyone else working last night. But the cook staff or something just wasn t jiving and it all went wrong from there. 2. Our order consisted of: Ribs w/ corn (the only seasonal vegetable they have), club sandwich, turkey, and two of these had salads. 3. Grandma s order of Ribs came out first. They didn t give us any silverware until the manager, James, finally turned around from his seat on the barstool, and said, what are y all missing? And there was no other food waiting at the kitchen. We were missing two meals, silverware, salads, cornbread muffins, and refills on drinks. 4. I ordered the turkey with the gravy on the side because I wasn t sure if I would like the gravy, she admitted that she told them no, it was supposed to be on it. So, it came out with gravy on it, and when James asked what we needed, I told him that I ordered it with gravy on the side and his reply is, so, what do you want me to do about it? This question would end up being speculated as the only phrase he knows as it was a repetitive one. I said, I guess scrap the gravy off the turkey and just give me new mashed potatoes. He laughs, I can t scrap that off, I ll have them remake it. Okay, so why didn t you just say that in the first place? Then, the meal that took 15 minutes or more to cook, that came out after ribs was done magically in 2 minutes. They handed me the food. I went to eat the potatoes, and they were ice cold!!!! I thought at first that it was because I had just drank a sip of water, so I stuck my finger in the potatoes to see if I was wrong. NOPE, they were cold. So, I called James back over. Because of his already terrible behavior and cold demeanor towards us, I suggested he touch the potatoes in case he didn t believe me. And we still hadn t received our salads at this time. She drops off my salad, only, and walks away. James asks What can we do? What do you want instead? and I m like, I m not hungry now. This has been an unappetizing experience. Maybe I ll try the salad, unless it s hot, it s hard to %^ that up. I inform him that Grandma still hasn t gotten her salad. 5. Her salad arrives, a different waitress brings it. We still have not received refills, cranberry sauce didn t come either time with my food, nor have we received the cornbread muffins. James comes back over. I m like, we still haven t received these items. What do you want me to do? So, this time I replied, What I want you to do is better. Be better. Do better. This isn t a bi%ch fest, this is a teaching moment. Y all have only been open for a few months, and if this is how service and food goes around here, you won t be open for very many more months. We never received any of those other items. Not one of them. Grandma wanted to bring the extra turkey home and I told her it wasn t worth it since it only took them 2 minutes to cook it. 6. They bring us our check What do you think is on the check? They said they d take off my turkey. That was LITERALLY the ONLY thing on the final check they handed us. Okay, that s weird. We go up front to cash out. The guy s like, this is a closed ticket. We re like, what? This is the one she said was due. So, he leaves for like 3 to 5 minutes, and finally comes back to say, don t worry about it everything was taken care of. I inform James that we never received any of our other items. And I did take the copy of the receipt in case Black Bear Diner needed any of the information.

I love Black Bear everywhere... Unfortunately this location has given the worst Black Bear experience I have had at any Black Bear so far. The Servers I have had are Slow and Sloppy. Who would rather sit off to the side and talk in a booth with their friends making snide comments that customers can hear while on the clock and taking on tables to provide detrimentally slow service because of them running motor mouths

Food is great, don t get me wrong, food is great. Atmosphere is gone completely.

The service here is fantastic and theyve done a great job of creating a friendly and fun atmosphere. The food was good, a tasty, but not perfect Eggs Benedict and the sausage was super flavorful. My only real complaint would be with the breakfast potatoes. The were mushy and had a strange flavor. I would definitely come back and give them another try, but would avoid the potatoes and probably try their biscuits, because they looked amazing.

Fun decor, Yogi Bear would be pleased. Huge menu, friendly attentive service. The tri-tip sandwich is large and delicious. A wonderful spot. Plan to bring some family soon. Update: This evening, around 9:00pm came to the Bear for dinner. Atmosphere still cute, menu good. Noticed the wait staff were doing a fantastic job, caring for tables spread out in the restaurant. The folks in the kitchen seemed a bit befuddled. New staff starting out, no worries there. The odd sight was a management person, red shirt, sitting on one of the chairs by the kitchen. Just sitting..... for a long..... time. He grabbed a plate and walked around with it, is it your fish? He plopped it down on my table, said the kitchen had to go get the fish from the freezer and walked off. He forgot coleslaw came with the meal. The dear wait staff were still actively serving customers. Thought perhaps if the manager wasnt feeling well, or another situation where he needed to rest, perhaps contacting another manager to step in so he could go home to rest. Tipped my server well, and headed home..It was very different from the earlier lunch. And I hope that management fella will be okay soon. We may visit you Bears in the future. Parking: Plenty of spots. Kid-friendliness: Lots of family with children there, kids were settled and happy. Think they have high chairs, not completely sure. Wheelchair accessibility: Easy in and out

There were 3 of us and one of our orders were wrong and we told the kitchen was short I totally understand that, but why were others being served way before us, while seated after. After so many good reviews, needless to say we were very disappointed.

This was my first time in this restaurant. The waitress was the worst Ive ever had in many years of dining out. When she walked up to our table to take the drink order, she took my order & as my husband was telling her what hed like to have, she turned away & began talking to a server at the next table. Very rude. She finally, after about a minute of chatting with the next table, she turned to him to ask what he wanted. When she took our food order, We hoped she would get it right due to her attention not being on what we were telling her. The order came out at room temperature. Items were missing from our order. The waitress asked if she could get anything for us. We replied The rest of what we ordered. She asked what items we needed instead of looking at our order & comparing what was served. It took 4 total trips to our table to bring everything we ordered. Pancakes were good. Bacon was pretty good, too. The biscuits are not really biscuits. They are more like a chunk of dry bread. Way too thick & crumbles very easily which makes adding butter or jelly impossible. The total experience wasnt good enough for me to be in a hurry to return anytime soon. The entire staff seems like they are in a daze & have no social skills. But, this seems to be more common at many restaurants with the people under about 25 years old.

First, the food is very good and plentiful (even though it showed up at the table just above room temperature) and the restaurant is nice and clean. The interior needs to be a little larger as we had to wait for a table. The problem is with customer service. The waitress came over to take our drink order. My wife placed her order and the waitress started talking to the table behind us and ignored my drink order. She finally got it and took our lunch order. My wife and I both ordered the Grizz. Eggs, sausage, bacon, ham steak, hashbrowns and pancakes. Knowing she would take most of it home, my wife ordered a side of biscuits and gravy. After about 15 minutes our order arrives at the table. Well part of the order anyway. The pancakes were cool enough to not melt the butter that we had to ask and wait for. No biscuits and gravy and no ham. The waitress said she was going to go place the order for the missing items but went immediately behind the counter and started talking to someone who appeared to may have been the manager but who knows. It was another couple of minutes before she actually walked over to the cook line. After about 5 minutes she brings over these two loaf looking things pretending to be biscuits and a small bowl of gravy. No ham. Another 5 minutes passes and she says they are working on the ham but she didnt she have any control over that and she wouldnt charge for it. About 10 minutes later and AFTER I had finished all my food and had lost interest in the ham it shows up. At least it was hot though it immediately went into the to-go box. The waitress had the personality of a half dry mop and no waitressing skills at all. We left a very small tip and paid our bill. Not looking for a free meal but did mention it to the kid at the register. OVERVIEW: Food good-even if its not hot and all there. Pancakes excellent. Atmosphere good. Prices high. Service terrible. For the food, we might would return but the service would definitely keep me away. Parking: The parking leaves a lot to be desired.

You know my friends and I frequent this place quite often and I have to say for the most part It s pretty good. They still need to work on how to cook fried eggs. But what was the most disappointing unfortunately this time around was the service. We didn t see our waitress very often And I am a late night coffee drinker. So I go there along with my wife and another couple to enjoy the atmosphere and a great place to go have a late night breakfast. Now mind you when I say late night we re talking somewhere around 6:30 PM. the first cup of coffee I received was old and had been sitting for a while. So I went ahead and made it work and drank it. The 2nd cup, which is my limit, was brought to me and you could see the coffee grounds floating in the top. So I asked the waitress if the coffee was instant and maybe that s what I was saying and she says no we make it. I said oh well then that tells me it s full of coffee grounds And she says yeah and then walked off. Kind of disappointing along with my wife have been waiting for her tea refill for a while. Anyway, all in all I will still go back. I like it much better than the other late night breakfast places that are around in Burleson Texas. I just hope it s not like a lot of the other places that they start out with a bang and then go out with a fizzle. The first one we ate at was in Tennessee.

Our first time in this location, the atmosphere is the typical you expect, but only got 3 stars cause the staff didnt seem to want to be there. The service was AWFUL.... waited over 7 mins in an empty restaurant to get drinks. I went to the restroom. Our waitress said she would come back to get our food order when I came back. I was gone less then 3 mins.... we waited and waited.. she as one point stepped out from the back.. looked right at our table with me there. Went back into the kitchen and proceeded to eat as we waited for her. We actually saw her peek around the corner , chewing her food. 10 mins later we just got up and walked out.. without her ever coming out. Her name was Anna E not sure on the exact spelling but thats how she said it.
