Today was the second time I have visited this restaurant in a month. Both times it took over 30 minutes for breakfast to arrive. Both times we were told that the restaurant was slammed (it was not even close to slammed). Both times we heard the kitchen staff was new (really?). I ordered 2 eggs over easy, toast, and bacon. No idea if the food is tasty; we gave up waiting. Our server was very nice. The hostess was lovely. The kitchen cant keep up with the demands of a not-slammed restaurant. Too bad. Oh, and the restaurant is extremely loud. I cannot recommend this place. Too bad.

This place is adorable. Lovely on the inside. The coffee was exceptional. The pastries look good. I had biscuits and gravy. It was good but not special. Husband had breakfast Mexicans, again good but would not order again. The grits are well cooked but bland. The cheesy grits just have a little cheese on top and no spice.

Every Sunday after church, I try to visit Denton and take my mom and sister to lunch. I feel like I ve tried every restaurant in the city at this point and have a good feel for the culinary options. Without a doubt, L Amitié is my absolute favorite because of its great food, the vibey atmosphere, and the top-tier customer service with Julia and Natalia bringing the good vibes every time. Highly recommend the Breakfast Southern Style, the Banana Nutella Crepes, and the Vanilla & Caramel Iced Latte with Oat Milk.

This is a difficult spot to rate because we want to want to like it, but our visit makes us wonder if those leaving 5-Star reviews have ever eaten quality food at a decent restaurant. The decor is fun, calming and inviting. You might walk in thinking this looks like a themed restaurant at a nice resort. The staff is very friendly. Then the analogy continues to poor service and low quality food that takes forever to get served. We were also disappointed in the lack of healthy options one might expect to find at such a cafe, but we also realize this is the DFW area so the fried and sugar food groups are the most popular. We ordered the Belgian waffle with berries, a side of bacon (3 slices), a side of the smashed breakfast potatoes, grits and 2 eggs over medium along with a couple cups of hot tea. Our food was not ready until 24 minutes after putting in the order at approximately 9am on a Sunday. At the time the dining area was about 60-70% seated with no one waiting. When served the grits had no seasoning or flavor, they forgot one of the three bacon slices (which is thin and not flavorful), and the smashed potato serving was meager (especially for $6). This potato dish isn t worth getting though we too were drawn in by what looked like a signature dish. It s simply oil soaked, overly salted deep fried small potato quarters. Everything else wasn t any different than you could make at home in far less time. Lastly, the price of tea was obscene at $4 per cup for a single tea bag and hot water. Again, the people were great (which is honestly shocking in 2024) but nothing else makes this spot worth the visit. A Hampton Inn free breakfast would be just as good and it s ready to eat when you are .

Its important we support local businesses. Yes, they are going through what any upstart business experiences. SERVICE: With a little patience, the service is fine. They are always friendly and smiling. When I worked as a server, my customers knew I was stressed. Thats not the case here. I rather have a friendly server who is not at fault for slow service than fast service with non friendly server. FOOD: They have delicious unique dishes with high quality ingredients. The syrup with infused butter taste is a simple example that makes me come back. Have you not stood in line for hours, in the heat, to get smoked brisket? Waiting here for dishes you cant get elsewhere is worth the it. COFFEE: Their local coffee is a perfect blend. Not bitter or has the chalking after taste. Its perfect for breakfast or brunch. With patience, time, and continued support, we can keep our local businesses going for our community.

Nice atmosphere and staff, but insane wait for mediocre food. We visited on a sunday at 11. We decided to wait 20 minutes for a table since we didnt want table top. We waited 15 minutes for water and nearly an hour for our food. Most of the food we ordered, we were told they no longer had. No potatoes for the burrito I wanted, No mac and cheese, and no french toast. We got complimentary baked goods for our wait which was nice, but our food came staggered and only some of it was warm. After our experience, we re reluctant to go back, as we were excited to plan our next visit after only looking at the menu.

Loved the vibes, and our server was so kind despite the shocking lack of staff on a Saturday morning. Poor guy. Food tasted good and was clearly well considered and well cooked, but cold eggs, cold/hardened grits, and painfully slow service put a damper on the experience. It took 40 minutes from being seated to getting our coffee. I d give it another shot, though.

I went there on Sunday for breakfast. Parking was not an issue. I walked in and was seated immediately. Julia, the barista was incredibly friendly, polite and efficient. I never had to ask for a refill. The food came out promptly and was great. I didnt love the cubed potatoes but the eggs, bacon and biscuits were spot on. The atmosphere was very inviting and unique. There are cozy nooks in the back for a more intimate setting, a little reading nook if you want to chill with a latte, a massive bar to eat at and plenty of tables around. The restroom was spotless and smelled fresh. In my experience, locally owned establishments can be hit or miss on quality. These owners put a lot of effort into presentation and experience. This is how local-owned should be done. Truly a first-rate experience.

The place looks small but once inside theres a separate room to host parties. CONs: Limited parking lot. Abby and my daughter had a good conversation of their common interest in music. Approx. $71 (with tip) we ordered Bacon/Egg & Cheese croissant, Bacon & Cheese Omelette, Galette Complete, Cafe de Natalia & Toffee Brooke coffee.

From the first sip of coffee to the very last bite, our first visit was exceptional. The cheesy jalapeño grits were ordered as an afterthought but they were delicious! The grits were creamy, cheesy and had just the right balace of flavor. The jalapeño flavor was bold and pronounced, yet not overpowering. The cheese infused grits had a perfect consistency. The strawberry cream cheese crepes were also incredible!

A great addition to the breakfast scene here in Denton. They serve it all day. Theyve added vegan and vegetarian options, and theyre delicious. Specifically, vegan sausage and Just Egg, which can be used in their panini, omelettes, etc. Very flexible about composing a vegetarian/vegan meal. Breakfast potatoes were excellent, tons of flavor; breakfast panino was very good - prepared just right, not stingy on ingredients, great flavor. Will definitely return. Note - they dont have decaf coffee right now, but are looking to add it in the future.

Not impressed. The atmosphere is nice but the service was underwhelming. Orders are not taken at the table, which is fine, but no one bothered to inform us of this. My friends food arrived almost too quickly, way before our coffee. Other than the omelettes and one salad, there are no gluten free options which in this day and age is very disappointing, especially to someone with a dietary restriction. I believe there is an opportunity to enhance the menu by offering combinations that include pancakes, potatoes, and other items to streamline the ordering process. Each item was flavorful and satisfying, though the amount of cream cheese on the crepes was excessive, leading me to choose another option in the future. Despite a minor inconvenience of encountering a bug on my table, it was of a calm disposition.

I came here to eat for the Mothers Day brunch special and my experience was absolutely fantastic. The coffee and breakfast plate I ordered were prepared with obvious care and were shockingly delicious! I can be quite the picky eater and I had absolutely no complaints with the food, which is rare for me. As for the service, I found the counter-service to be clear, efficient, and our food came out fast even though the restaurant was quite busy. The staff was extremely attentive and kind, which was particularly refreshing to experience. We also got the chance to meet the owner and with one brief conversation you could tell how close this restaurant is to her and her familys heart. 100% recommend checking out this spot for brunch if you are in the Denton area!

This was a weird experience. It just seemed like they didn t exactly know how to be a restaurant yet. We asked to move some tables together for eight of us and couldn t get a clear, immediate answer. Then, we ordered and got like three numbers even though we all ordered and paid separately. When they brought the food out, a few of us had ordered the same thing with small variations and the waitress was very confused. She basically put down a plate and was like I don t know what toast that is but if it isn t right, I ll bring something else. It was great that she would do that but it didn t seem like they knew what food they grabbed when they actually picked it up. At the end, I would ve preferred to bus my own stuff. The waitress was asking us to stack the things for her and it was again just unusual. As for the food, it was ok. It felt like every dish was missing something - a meat or non-meat option, something more, I don t know. It s hard to explain. I just think about places like Seven Mile and I m more likely to find the exact combo of eggs/veggies/meat/whatever that I want. I don t think any of this would prevent me from returning because I d give it another chance but I don t think I ll actively seek it out on my own when other good options exist elsewhere.

This restaurant is a stellar example of how a bistro should be managed. From the moment you approach the front of the building you get a sense of something special. The gravel path leading to the front door and awnings over the windows transport you to a quaint French countryside. Once inside, youre greeted by great big smiles by any associate that happens upon your path. Its a self serve bistro, where you place your order at the counter - BUT - dont expect many of their associates to allow you to refill your own water or much else, as they are the most attentive staff I have come across! Food is certainly not an afterthought either! My personal favorite are the deliciously crispy and delicate potatoes! My wife and I have gone every Sunday since discovering this gem and the owners Amity and Stan Robbins, along with their super kind daughter are there every time! They are very friendly and welcoming. We feel like a part of the family! Wheelchair accessibility: Fully accessible via a ramp

Helping accommodate a 5 person birthday brunch without notice or even batting an eye. Many thanks! My boyfriend & I came here the week they opened and ordered a white mocha latte with oat milk ($5.75), an americano ($5), and a breakfast mexicana plate ($12.95). I felt like the americano price was pretty hefty in comparison to the latte. The food was good. Total price for 2 drinks and a breakfast plate was $23. I brought my sister by this weekend as she was visiting to grab coffee. This time, I opted for the french madeline latte with oat milk... and it rang up over $9. My sister got a toffee brooke latte with dairy milk. Our total for 2 lattes was $18. As another reviewer mentioned.... there are no prices on the coffee menu. Not sure why the price almost doubles for a signature latte vs a flavored latte. Would not have ordered a $9 drink intentionally. The atmosphere is cozy and the staff is kind. Unfortunately, wont be a regular stop for us for coffee.

After talking with some others and seeing other reviews and discussing with others whove been I felt I should leave an honest review because it feels the reviews are only coming from particular clientele so we felt it was important to share a different perspective. Firstly, I see why this place has become quickly loved! The atmosphere is divine and the staff is wonderfully kind, the owners clearly put a lot of work into everything and we by no means mean to take away from that with this review, we just felt we should leave this for others to have a full picture. We 100% understand the economy we are in and why prices are the way they are, but it was disheartening that one muffin, one small plain black coffee, and one small iced latte came up to as much as it did. Weve placed the same order elsewhere for a more reasonable price, and unfortunately the prices here priced us out of enjoying the rest of the menu. I got the toffee iced latte in the smallest size offered, but didnt taste any flavoring at all it was just a regular iced coffee I could get anywhere in my opinion, and of course when the cup is mostly ice anyway since its iced coffee it was disappointing. My partner got a small plain black coffee, he likes it just straight black, it was so bad we actually left half the mug :( Its the first time Ive ever seen him not finish a coffee in the entire duration of our relationship, or anywhere weve ever ate :( I asked him what was wrong because he made a face after the first sip and thats very much not like him. He said hes unsure if it was the water or if it was over brewed perhaps but I told him not to finish it after he was trying to be polite and drink it :( We also noticed theres no pricing on the menu for the coffee, I understand why that is now when we paid, I think I woulda skipped my latte if I did see that ahead of time. However, the banana nut muffin was the best Ive ever had! That was delicious. Were sorry we didnt get to try the food but it was quickly understood this place isnt for all of Denton as most Dentonites couldnt afford this, but rather more for those who are comfortable and used to paying Barley and Board/Hannahs type prices. It would have to be a special occasion for us if we did consider going back in the future :( Also the ordering system maybe isnt the best, unfortunately people dont sit and read the menu before ordering and do that in line instead so it creates some traffic/extra standing waiting time just due to those people, making that area a little crowded at times. We see why people like it but for us its another resturaunt in Denton that for a different tax bracket than us :( We certainly dont mean to discourage anyone from going by any means, we just hope it helps people be more informed before going because we werent with the other reviews :(

What a great place for breakfast. Food was excellent and prepared fresh to order. I got the bananas foster French toast and a side of some of the best most flavorful breakfast potatoes Ive ever had. Its all counter service and they bring the food to your table. The owners were present and greeted me when I walked in. Everyone working was pleasant and attentive. There is a small parking lot or street parking available. I will definitely be back.

L Amitie is a lovely brunch spot! I ordered the Madeline latte, biscuits and gravy and side of potatoes- all absolutely amazing. They have both breakfast and lunch items on their menu and they serve both while open. The restaurant has a very sweet and comfortable vibe and is a great meet up spot. Staff is amazing and very friendly. I can t wait to go back!

We eat breakfast out every day so we have fairly high standards. We have been twice and both times the food has been outstanding. With gourmet coffees an interesting menu and cute decor this place should be on your dining list and rotation. Nice addition to Dentons culinary scene.

What a lovely place! Perfect atmosphere for brunch with friends, remote working space, or lunch meeting. The food is outstanding and decadent. The biscuits and gravy are unique and flavorful. Don t miss out on the smashed potatoes! Seasoned perfectly and extra crispy. You ll want more. The strawberry shortcake waffle had the best strawberry crème topping. My vanilla cappuccino was delicious. I ve been twice in one week and will plan on stopping by for a cozy and bright work spot. Fast WiFi, ample seating, and a clean coffee bartop. What else could you need? Denton has been needing a French-inspired café with a feminine touch and L Amitié fits the bill. Outdoor seating and a private room is also available. The owner is so kind and has created a unique space for Dentonites!

I enjoyed the restaurant. Its bright and nice inside. If I were the owners, I might suggest they have lots of dessert options like Devivos Bros.

My partner and I are both vegetarian and found options that suited us. We enjoyed brunch on the patio which was perfect with the weather. The coffee was great, and I look forward to trying more of their signature drinks. Service was awesome, they clearly want to take good care of their customers. We ll definitely be coming here again soon :)

We tried the place today for lunch and absolutely everything was great! Our sandwiches and soup were all PERFECT and the homemade potato chips were actually full of flavor instead of just bland salty crisps. The coffee was amazingly smooth and lacked the acidic bite that most places have that triggers my heartburn which was a huge win! We will definitely be adding this place to our normal rotation and trying out their breakfast soon. Also, all of the staff were super attentive.

This place is straight out of your coquette dreams Strawberry cream cheese crepes: beautiful and fresh, comes with sweet butter Side of smashed breakfast potatoes and bacon: crispy, seasoned perfection Cafe de Natalia: (Mexican coffee) creamy and sweet, not too loaded on the cinnamon which I loved, and they had several milk options Theyre still working out some kinks like with seating and some things were out already, but the service was incredible even during a lunch rush. Many different people came by and checked on us and got us what we needed. I personally really liked paying for my food first, which also means you also include your tip first. They were all so nice, kind, and helpful and Im so glad to have them in Denton. Ill be coming back and bringing more friends! They got pasta, paninis, and sandwiches which all looked and smelled very yummy. Ill be getting the Chipotle Chicken & Bacon sandwich and a Sweet Julia next time They have some parking in the parking lot and some on the street, but you can also walk there and ride your bike since they have a bike rack. 10/10 They have the perfect place to take pictures at the entrance, and also have a private room which is perfect for a brunch party with the girlies! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
