The century looks amazing standing at the fringes of its massive branches as well as staring up into its majestic wing span while on the path underneath it. The grounds crew takes really good care of this relic. My Australian Shepherd enjoyed it too while on the spy for Reveille.

Both my son and my daughter in law graduated from A&M. My son proposed under the century tree and they wanted to have their first family portrait under that tree as well.

This Oak Tree impresses with its size and is really very special. The Century Tree (or Century Oak) is located on the campus of Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas. The tree was one of the first trees planted on campus. The beautiful live oak has been the site of countless Aggie marriage proposals, weddings, and tourist snaps due to its immense size and unique drooping branches, many of which rest on the ground. Tradition says that if a couple walks together under the Century Tree, they will eventually marry, and if a marriage proposal takes place under the tree, the marriage will last forever. Many people do photo shoots, it is also a time of recreation to walk, and it even attracts the attention of many artists who come to draw it.

If you ever take a trip to College Station, make sure to visit the Century Tree on the Texas A&M Campus. It is a easy walk for several parking areas and worth the trip.

Beautiful tree, but before I learned about the tradition behind it, I walked underneath it at least six times alone. So like, am I gonna be single for six lifetimes, or do I just need to walk under it with some girl like twelve times?
