Extremely professional, and helpful! When calling to set up a consultation I was connected and had a date right away. During my meeting I was allowed to explain my situation without judgement. Showed immense integrity when realizing I had completed a lot of the work. Instead of feeling like they were the best my option, I was given a step by step process to continue by myself. I have been going back and forth with leaving this rating but honestly people should know that if I could leave a ZERO star rating, I would. This place was a terrible experience for me dealing with child custody that I had to change lawyers mid court case. The things I specifically wanted to be heard or addressed, were not. I also feel like my feelings and thoughts were just rejected and shut down by my lawyer Sheba each time we had spoken about my case. I had a mere 10 page binder during my court hearing while the other party had hundreds of pages. I sat there in court looking like a terrible person with no counter argument or defense. EVERYTHING was a mess and it seemed like my lawyer had NO idea what she talking about. Even after going through my whole invoice and writing down all the questioning bills like I was told by Kelly Robb (who was my first initial consult, but then was given Sheba) I was still billed SO MUCH and still paying it off. Worst experience ever. Felt unheard and truly disappointed with this place.

ASHLEY Covert WHO ALSO WORKS or worked with this group is very untrustworthy. She will make you feel dismissed and unheard but will also gaslight you to believing her and then when it s all done her aording completely screws you over. They take advantage of battered women who are fearful for speaking up and will corner them into agreeing to things they don t understand and quint let them have support with them when going thru all the emotions. Who cares if they (the client)are use to being verbally and emotionally abused they will make them feel worse. Even if it means putting the kids with the other party due to that being the best option at the time and taking precautions to work theirselves back up from being mistreated. They will remind them well you didn t want child support so ! No ma am that s not what the intention was. They will for sure take believe in the other party not their own client. Do not trust them and especially since their Facebook comments are turned off what does that say?!

Only in it for the money (in my opinion). I hired Romi Swartz from the firm, based on the recommendation that she would be aggressive in my case. She confirmed that she would be aggressive during the initial consultation. She definitely was NOT aggressive (from my perspective). I was billed for so called strategy meetings, but I was never made aware of any strategy (despite asking many times), nor did I see anything that would resemble any kind of strategy. In addition, this firm charges a 5% maintenance fee, which I was not told about during the consultation. I was constantly told that I owed them money and they would withdrawal from my case, even though I had pay the fees. They even told my new attorney that I was bad at paying the fees owed. I spent upwards of 10K with this firm, with extremely little progress in my case. I am now having to pretty much start over with my new attorney to fix the many errors that were made and get my divorce case to move forward.

I see that others seem to be upset by the $200 charge for a consultation. I felt it was well worth the $$. Jennifer Hicks took the time to answer all of my questions and was honest and completely upfront with her responses. She reviewed my previous divorce decree and gave me valuable feedback on my options and the process; as well as open to the possible costs. If you want lawyers to will tell you what you want to hear, this law firm is not for you. They will give you honesty and a clear view of what is expected for your case. They have years of experience and can predict what will be expected by the courts. Very disappointed with this law firm as after almost of 6000$ of legal fees nothing was accomplished on my behalf. I would definitely not recommend hiring these lawyers to represent your interest. They sure know how to bill you, but lack of expertise preparing for the case. On my initial meeting I was advised that we have very good chances of winning the case as opposing counsel had no basis to request additional child support from me. After poor representation and incorrect legal strategy judge ruled against my interest. Malorie who was representing my interest offered to appeal. After requesting a clear answer on what are my chances on winning an appeal and how much it will cost, I did not received clear explanation. After that these lawyers chose to cease representing my case. I would describe them as unprofessional, and not good family lawyers.

From start to finish, my attorney and his team were accessible. The first meeting went smooth, and expectations were set. Everything was straightforward, no hidden fees, or trickery here. I appreciated the honest approach to my case as well. When there were issues, they were resolved within a reasonable amount of time. Im honestly not even sure where to start. I had previously dealt with 4 other attorneys in various matters regarding custody of my son over the last several years which cost me a good deal of money and left me very disillusioned, and then I found Anthony Pax at Coker, Robb, and Cannon. I was in the fight of my life and losing would have meant that my son would be going to live overseas with his mother. In late 2012, as a result of abuses by my daughter s husband toward her and her two boys, we retained Duane Coker and his firm. A nearly five year battle ensued and pretty much exposed us to the seedy side of divorces in Denton County, Texas. In particular, those who allegedly support the courts and the attorneys court appointed psychologists, court appointed Guardians Ad Litem etc. We should have realized these people had an agenda, but should never have wasted time and worry figuring out what it was. It was as frustrating as anything I ve ever encountered. Duane Coker, however, had the ability to see through, cut through and drive through the bullsh*t. We endured the pain of seeing young boys be forced to visit overnight with a man who previously broke their bones, exposed them to drunken tirades which resulted often in physical attacks on them and their mother. Yet Duane remained steady, explanatory, reasonable, and calm. He knew how to remove fear by simply sharing what was really predictable. While he did not often agree with the trends of that time period as far as reuniting families, he understood and helped us understand the process more often than not would eventually result in justice being served. He was strategically able to minimize the visitations because he knew as well the danger involved. He knew the aforementioned support group, while well-meaning had not yet grasped the kind of criminal the father truly was. Still he adroitly managed not only the support group but the opposing law firm, and every situation, while being completely honest, though pointed with the judge involved. His tactics were never underhanded, but straightforward. He never resorted to trickery, but he also did not broadcast his plans. Finally in 2017, the father gave up his parental rights, and showed his true colors: that being he had no interest in reuniting with, nurturing and fathering his sons, unless the end result could be he continue to control and thus abuse in some form or manner their mother. Duane even predicted it would happen, though he was surprised as were we all, it took so long. The case was expensive, but this was more due to the time the situation called for. Associates were involved, filings were involved, meetings, communications, motions for enforcement, contempt, and to compel. He had staff to pay to get it all done and it was, as mentioned a five year battle. In reality the cost was reasonable and well worth it. If there was ever a billing issue, it was fixed and it was minimal so minimal, in fact, I barely remember . Thanks to Duane Coker and all of the heroes at his firm, our grandsons and daughter are safe. While they still have questions and while we never spoke ill of their father to them or in front of them, the boys are healthy and growing and most of all happy, well adjusted and thriving. This too, in part is due to the solid advice given by Duane Coker. There is no doubt in our minds Mr Coker is one of the best attorneys in the country, and his firm is simply remarkable. The results say it as loudly as do we.

I was more than taken care of by this law firm. My attorney Shelby Hart believed in my case since day one. My situation was far from easy, I was trying to move out of state with my son to start a family with my husband. His father wanted to restrict me to the county I currently lived it. I was turned away by another attorney because she said there was no way I had a chance. I came in late on my case after being completely barraged by my wifes lawyer about owing her $65k for her to divorce me. Scared of what to do I looked up Google reviews on different family lawyers in Denton, TX. Coker Legal was the first place that came up and I have them a call, they immediately sat with me and explained to me what was happening and also that we were one day away from the initial serving from becoming set in stone. Jackie Cannon was the lawyer they got me in contact with and she did an exceptional job of working hard to get me out of a jam and even filing the same day to have the serving ammended. She then researched what they were charging me and found that one of the biggest charges was the claim to be reimbursed for half of my student loans. She and I were able to find Texas family code 3.409, which my wifes lawyer failed to mention, and immediately got that revoked and immediately saved me $24k. Jackie then proceeded to work through the claims for all the tools and equipment and supplies that my wife was charging me for at new price. This removed another $6k (thereabouts). I ended up deciding to sell the house to not have to pay my wife out of it and after all was said and done, the initial $65k that I owed my wife turned into $5k and the frustration level that my wifes lawyers intimidation gave me went away. From there it was smoother sailing. This law firm is a great law firm and I would even recommend using them just for a single lawyer like my wife and I were originally supposed to do. But if you feel like you need a second legal opinion, Coker Legal can really save you a large amount of frustration. They can get you back in the game even coming in 3 months late. And one last note, they genuinely care for their clients. I know I even vented some frustrations out to Jackie and she just listened and treated me like a human and not an expense check. Divorce is a very difficult area of your life to go through and I highly recommend seeking reconciliation before you ever go through it, but for those who must face it, this is a good place to start to ease the level of frustration.

ALL THEY CARE ABOUT IS YOUR MONEY.....Complete disappointment. I was told in the consult that my divorce (with no kids) could be handled for around $2500-$3500. They used up my initial retainer fast, and they want you to keep it at the $2500 monthly, so they will keep hitting your card to keep it there monthly and refund you what they dont use. They will use it all. I never even went to court. They filed a couple things at $400/hr, AND THEY CHARGE $75 PER EMAIL AND PHONE CALL!!!. Still waiting to check the email records. $2500 got spent fast. Its cheaper to do it yourself. Now they want to charge me $3500 more or they are dropping me.

I was very satisfied with the expert representation and the fees I paid. As with most things in this life you get what you pay for. When one wants freebie advice, google it, but good luck because the internet is very seldom the safest route. DOUBLE BILLING AND BILLS FOR EVERYTHING I retained Kimberly Killebrew from Coker Legal in September of 2014, for a divorce. I met with Kim on a couple of occasions and I requested minimal work to be done by Kim and her team. Over the next few months, I was billed thousands of dollars to simply reply to some emails and file a counter petition. While not being satisfied with results and reviewing my bills, I began to seek alternative council. In doing so, I noticed I was double billed initially for opening and preparing new client file. Additionally, most of what I was billed for adhered to their billing guidelines, however, being billed for multiple conferences with her legal assistant that I was not aware of as well as billed to perform a motion to withdraw that was not requested were certainly questionable items. I attempted to work with the Coker Legal team, including Duane Coker, to adjust my billing and they did recognize and refund the double billing, but only after I had brought it to their attention. Coker Legal declined to work with me on the other items as they stated it was within their guidelines. While they were within the letter of most of their charges, in consultation with other attorneys in the area, they were not common practice. I cannot recommend anyone at Coker Legal and, if you have already retained them, I encourage you to diligently review your bills.

I used Coker Legal for a recent divorce and was extremely happy with the service I received. The staff was always friendly and very helpful. Emails were very prompt. The questionnaires made the process very easy to complete and once finished we only needed one small change which was handled within a couple hours. Step by step instructions were to the point and gave me a heads-up on what to expect. On my court appearance all paperwork was correct, and after a few quick questions the judge signed the paperwork and all was over. Jackie and Toya were my contacts and I want to thank them for their very professional help. All costs mentioned up front was all I paid... they did not have any hidden fees. Very professional! I will highly recommend their firm to anyone who needs their service.

I contacted Kimberly Killebrew to handle my divorce case. She handled my case with the utmost professionalism. She always had time to discuss my concerns and answered any questions I might ask. She is very caring and showed concern regarding my issues. I was glad to have her represent me and am very satisfied with how she handled my case.
