We must have went on an off night. I ve been wanting to try Gemma for a long time but I was honestly disappointed. My scallops still had sand and grit in them and didn t smell fresh. My dish came out cold. Our server was swamped- not his fault, but we waited 15-20 minutes just to see a dessert menu. Overall, it was fine.

Wonderful food, wonderful experience! My wife and I went for our anniversary and its the best choice weve made for a date night in the 15 years weve been in DFW. Loved it and we will go back for sure! Wheelchair accessibility: Handicap parking and a ramp are right by the front door. Very easy walk for me in crutches and wheelchair friendly

Got a cute signed card on our table for our anniversary. Started with the beef carpaccio and ribs. Had spicy pork pasta and vodka rigs. Also creamed spinach. The hazelnut chocolate pie was our least favorite, just not as much of a wow factor as the rest. Pasta dishes amazing. Ribs meaty and juicy. This is now on our list of staples. Only reason I downgrade one star on atmosphere is seats are very uncomfortable. Otherwise super delicious!!! Cant wait to return

Went to Gemma for my birthday dinner with friends. It was a great choice! Their service is incredible, the restaurant is the perfect size that all the staff are very attentive to table needs. We had the blood orange margaritas, oysters, shrimp, burata, salmon, and two pasta dishes. Everything was delicious, the pasta is out of this world. We could not get over how fresh and flavorful the Pasta dishes were (Rigatoni alla vodka and pappardelle.)

My wife and I are foodies. This place was amazing. The atmosphere is laid back and semi-casual, but the food was top-tier. Everything hit exactly the way it should from the quick service to the phenomenal food. I don t say this lightly: the food is GOOD and the prices aren t over the top either. I ve paid $80-90 per plate at other restaurants that don t come close to the quality of Gemma. If you haven t eaten here, you must.

Came here to celebrate an anniversary and they were so kind! Had a card signed by their whole team. Service was on point throughout the dinner. Got the burrata, tagliatelle, pork secreto, peach cobbler desert. The pasta was my favorite dish of the dinner. Felt like the pork was interesting but the steak/other protein frites at other tables looked better. Airy and bright atmosphere. Worth trying out!

The food was incredible. Austin recommended outstanding dishes that were absolutely delicious. Gabby, our server, was exceptionally sweet. My favorite dishes were the ravioli, steak frites, and, of course, the scones! I deducted one star due to Phils poor customer service, but despite that, the overall service we received was excellent.

A wonderful dining experience. The service amazing! The menu is very thoughtful and has a lot to offer for all types pallets and food restrictions. The desert we had was so so good. My salmon wasn t my favourite as it had beans, my friends Lasagna was really good. I wish I got that instead. I would love to go again. Highly recommend to book a reservation!

Went here on a Tuesday. Very packed, very loud and small restaurant. Had dinner with my family celebrating a few things. The food was okayish, nothing really special . Reservations are tough to get, but the host took great initiative to reach out to me and give me the chance to book when there was a cancellation. The food was delicious! I enjoyed the duck frites mostly due to how succulent the duck was prepared. Overall, great experience.

Amazing experience! Service level is top tier from beginning to the end!!! All the food was great, we had the ribs for an app, the steak fries and fries and the rabbit pappardelle, which was the best thing ever! Amazing service from manager Emilia, and our waiter Austin, even the person who called to verify our reservation and ask if we were celebrating anything special and if we had any dietary restrictions... It was a birthday dinner, so they had a signed card waiting there for us when we arrived. You cant go wrong here, this place is amazing an I will be back!

What an epic night of delicious food. Gemma Is simply one of the finest restaurants in dallas. It is quaint with just a few seats and a nice bar. The quality of the food is extraordinarily high and the presentation is fantastic. Fried olives with pecans to start....amazing. Hamachi crudo and then a beet salad. My girlfriend had salmon, and I had the waggu steak. They have a nice wine selection here and also fantastic espresso. Great food and a great night.

We had a great experience dining at Gemma. From the moment we walked in, hospitality was friendly and we felt taken care of. Everyone is offered a small scone to begin with which was delicious. We then split the shrimp spaghetti and steak frites (substituted normal fries for the duck fat tater tots) and were very pleased with everything. The steak was solid and felt fair priced but the spaghetti was the star of the show and I would for sure order it again. Overall, we had a nice experience, enjoyed the warm atmosphere, and would come back again for a nicer date night. Note- make your reservation in advance because spots here go quickly. Parking: There is valet and free spots agree.

Gemma is has become my second home. I ve been familiar with the concept but until the past 6 months I have been coming in every week. If you really want a true experience you sit with Brent who will walk you through how you need to experience this place. And if you sit at a table you re still in good hands. Every week I come here I keep getting blown away by Chef Sophia s approach on the menu. Really miss the Sakura pork chop though. The hospitality aspect is impeccable, being in the hospitality industry myself and for different places I ve worked with, Gemma is leading quietly like a beast and beating everyone at the hospitality game. If you want have an experience and create a memory or woo your date, this is the place. Nothing you order on the menu is ordinary, it defines perfection.

We had a delightful dinner on a Tuesday evening. We arrived to a most pleasant surprise -- free non-valet parking adjacent to the restaurant. What a pleasant breath of fresh air and emblematic of the evening. The menu selections at the new Gemma were quite varied. They were interesting and seemed conceived with a contemporary palate in mind. The food preparation was excellent and flavorful. The wines by the glass were somewhat limited. The semi-freddo dessert was tasty. Overall, it was a fine, but comfortable and relatively relaxed dinner. I will definitely return.

Date night with my love and I had to quietly deal with the dry tasteless rib appetizer. Then the steak frites arrived and it was the worst steak I ve had at restaurant in my entire life. Stopped in for a last minute date night and were able to grab seats at the bar. While awaiting appetizers, we were served some amazing fig and gouda cheese scones. We started with the Korean sticky ribs (the garlic and glazing was delicious) and spicy salmon tartare (melts in your mouth). For an entree we split the steak frites which were fantastic. Was honestly pretty disappointed based on the stellar reviews here. Chose to go for dinner and ordered based on pics on Google reviews recently. Cocktails - overpriced and disappointing Oysters - good but nothing special Mussels - the bread was great but the mussels didnt come in the shell or a pot, no broth to dip the bread into. Very different than the pics on reviews. Came in an unappetizing little bowl. Also felt the 2 pieces of bread was stingy. The mussels were cold which was strange. The broth itself was good and would have loved it if it was warm and I had more to dip bread into. Spicy vodka pasta with burrata - the pasta had the most stringy piece of burrata on it. The pics on here show it with a whole burrata ball, but instead we got a butchered slice of a burrata ball that was not proportional to the pasta or price. Duck frites - they were good but I probably wouldnt order again. Service was great and the atmosphere was decent, but the food disappointing for $250+ with tip. Beware of the squished 2 person tables on the side wall. I wont be back.

A lovely little upscale neighborhood place. If I lived in Dallas I d be a regular. Plenty of parking, but you do have to navigate through a construction site. Great atmosphere, skillful and warm service. A friend and I split half a dozen oysters (east coast, $4 each), which I followed with the hamachi crudo (excellent) and an order of moules frites. The portion of delicious mussels was ridiculously large; two people could easily share it. (I sent some home with my friend.) The accompanying fries were perfectly cooked but much too salty - the reason I gave the food 4 stars instead of 5. My friend had the spicy salmon tartare, which came with butter lettuce leaves for wrapping, followed by the trout almandine (she loved both dishes). There s seating at the bar for walk ins and the overall vibe is welcoming and casual. Fun for just a nice dinner with a friend, but could also be a great date night spot. Parking: You have to drive through a bit of a construction zone to get here at the moment (the only driveway access from Henderson is by Sfuzzi) but overall there s plenty of parking.

What a great meal. The dining room was very nice, we had a two-top near the kitchen and it was cozy and romantic. New Dallas favorite! My wife and I came here to celebrate our anniversary and wanted to get away from the over-priced, overly-pretentious, high-end spots downtown. Gemma did not disappoint. The Burrata, spaghetti, scallops, duck fat tots, melon salad and desserts were incredible. The presentation was great, and everything came out perfectly timed. Additionally, the service was flawless, despite a packed house and busy Saturday night. The wait staff took great care of us and made the evening special. I must say I love Gemma restaurant! At first things did not go well, we ordered drinks and food and they food did not come for over an hour. Our waiter told us the machine didn t input our order (or possibly he forgot to place the order), either way - mistakes happen. The manager came out and apologized and offered to pay for our dinner. We politely declined - but really respected the gesture. The waiter also apologized profusely. The food came out promptly after and every dish was amazing and memorable. The chef even came out with dessert for us and new things off menu for us to try. They really made it up to us and cannot thank them enough for a delicious meal. Will definitely be going back here again.

Fried Olives, Rabbit, Baby Octopus, and Wild Boar! This place had one of the more unique dinning experiences I ve had in my life. As you can see from my opening sentence, they offer a variety of interesting but delicious food. Unlike some restaurants that just try to offer rare selections, this place actually knows how to elevate the flavors which just next level. Must haves are the fried olives, gemeli, and Texas heat cocktail (unreal). BREAD SERVICE!!!! I almost forgot, this place has arguably the best bread I have ever had before a meal. The kicker is they only give you one. But if you layer in the butter good, that one piece of bread can be your holy grail.

Food was delicious and prepared very nicely. Ambiance is great as well, and for what you get, pricing is excellent! That being said, this was the birthday celebration of my Wife and I specifically asked for a small cake for her birthday in the comments section upon reservation. They completely forgot about this so that was a bummer in the end. Service was acceptable, waiter forgot a few things here and there, but that is the human factor I guess. Wait times for food was very long though. We waited 30 minutes to even receive our appetisers, for which our waiter apologised. All this can be dealt with, however the fact they forgot my request for a small gesture for my wifes birthday, was definitely disappointing. Attention to detail is when one restaurant can differentiate themselves from others.

Would have given 5 stars had they not required you to order your entire meal at one e. I prefer to try things and see where the meal takes me rather than order 100% of the meal at once. Asinine and arrogant. Would imagine the result of entres taking too long which is an operational inefficiency that should not be the customers problem. Other than that, everything was delicious.

Gemma is one of the finest restaurants in Dallas in my opinion. Im so glad its managed to start relevant since its inception in an era when restaurants struggle to stay open after theyve lost their newness. The menu is small, but impeccable, so get everything but especially the rabbit pappardelle. Its the only thing thats stayed on the menu the whole time and for good reason. Not to mention the prices dont seem to have skyrocketed along with the industry so thats a pleasant surprise as well.

Food and overall experience was pretty good. They were able to accommodate us in a table of 8 as it became available. All the appetizers were very very good from the oysters, to tuna, smoke halibut dip is to die for. And my favorite was the fried olives. I had the salmon from my main dish and it was perfect with a some kind of white sauce, pomegranate and Brussel sprouts. The only negative and the reason for the 4srar rating was one of the Italian dishes was very salty. The management took it off the bill but overall this was a great place. Well deserved to be on dallas best 50 places.

We have gone a few times now either with friends or family. The food is well thought out and cooked to perfection. They are innovative with the menus and constantly striving to bring its patrons new and exciting dishes. Between all of us we have tried just about every item and can t think of a negative comment to make. The staff is attentive and friendly ensuring a great evening! Glad we found this location. The same owners have another restaurant in Dallas - Sachet. We have not been here yet though do plan on going. Stellar service! Lovely date night/girls night ambiance. Theres a small lot for parking w/plenty of spots on a wednesday evening at 7pm. We loved the duck pasta and the pappardelle pasta. We shamefully ate a ton of their complimentary scones, but they were so fresh and delicious! We couldnt stop! Would absolutely love to come back here again!!

My experience at Gemma was simply delightful. From the moment we arrived, my friends and I were impressed with the cozy yet elegant atmosphere of the restaurant. We started off with some incredible craft cocktails, including a blood orange margarita that was a perfect balance of sweet and tart. For appetizers, we ordered the ceviche and ribs, and both were fantastic. The ceviche was fresh and zesty, while the ribs were juicy and flavorful. The only critique we had was that we would have loved to have some sort of sauce to go with the ribs, but that was a minor issue. For our main courses, we tried the Trenne and the Oven chicken, and both were outstanding. The Trenne had just the right amount for me, and the sauce was rich and delicious. The Oven chicken was also a standout, with a savory flavor that was so satisfying. Located in the Henderson area of Dallas, Gemma is definitely a gem. The restaurant manages to strike the perfect balance between being fancy and upscale without feeling pretentious or stuffy. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a delicious meal and chill atmosphere.

Quality has gone downhill since the last time I dined here (pre-pandemic). A friend and I were seated for our reservation and then after waiting about 20 minutes and seeing others being served, had to prompt the hostess to let a server know she had our table. We ordered the steak tartare, which was good, and two dishes from the appetizer menu, and a salad. While the presentation was pleasing, the flavors and textures of the appetizer dishes fell short, and the Caesar salad was disappointing/underwhelming. The cocktails were decent. The service did not improve after the initial snafu, and 1.5 hours after the server took our first order, a male host gave us the nastiest look I have ever received in a nice restaurant, accompanied by the words is there anything else we can do for you!? (They wanted our table for the next guests.) Finally, there were bottles of GermX in the center of each table, in a weird nod to how we ve all survived the pandemic. This seems unnecessary in a restaurant with running water, and it was off-putting.

This place has it all: vibes, food, service. The prices are fair for the delicious bites. Had the flat iron steak, the chimichurri was perfectly seasoned, the meat was perfectly cooked. The shrimp pasta was absolutely delicious. The fig scones are amazing. Fully recommend. We also had the mussels appetizer - well worth it. Our server Jonna was the best!

We came here to celebrate a birthday and the staff did a great job to acknowledge the event by giving us a card and free app. The waitress was really nice and very helpful in answering questions about the menu. To me, this is a perfect place for a celebratory dinner- birthday, anniversary, or holidays. We ordered several appetizers, the rabbit pasta, and the apple crisp. Everything was truly wonderful. We had a fabulous meal at Gemma on October 14, sitting as usual at the bar. The service was superb and attentive. The food was inventive (always something new, but with enough old favorites) and the atmosphere terrific. We go at least monthly, and usually ask ourselves afterwards why we dont go even more often.

Not only was the meal fantastic, the service was absolutely amazing. We dined with friends and all of us remarked that we have not experienced this level of service in a very long time. Hubby and I switched it up for our anniversary and decided to try this place. We were both SO happy with our overall experience. I m a total foodie and quite picky, but the food here is outstanding. I m still thinking about the pappardelle pasta. Hubby loved his meal, as well. We will 100% be back. My only complaint is that I was served a fizzy flat (I assume old opened bottle) of wine, and I instead ordered the Negroni sour. This drink was absolutely horrible and tasted like straight rubbing alcohol! I hate being in this position of ok, I ve now had an issue with TWO drinks, I don t want to be THAT person SO I just didn t say anything and left it untouched. I do wish that at this price point, (restaurant is pricey) our server would ve said something and offered to take it back. I know she saw! Other than that, we loved everything and enjoyed our anniversary dinner.

Great experience. Elegant touches to allot of the dishes that are familiar but a few touches that are added make this a hard to forget experience. Great service, as that is not something I typically contribute to my over all rating, as my reviews primarily come from how the dishes made me feel, how they where prepared and often times if the goal was achieved. I honestly NEVER post reviews but I literally just ate here and I need to make my sentiments known. The food was INCREDIBLE, it was well balanced and delicious. I really enjoyed myself here. The ambiance is pretty intimate and everyone is so attentive. From the hostesses to the servers, bartenders, station chefs, and the chef you truly feel taken care of. They have something for everyone. This was my first time here but they ve gained a regular, for sure. Treat yourself because you deserve it, go to Gemma.

Gemma was good. Our reservation via Resy somehow got cancelled so we could only sit at the bar. The bartenders were excellent and helpful. The dish I came for after perusing menus online was no longer offered as the season menu has just changed the day before. That said, our server gave us complimentary muscles. They were good. We also got the burrata which was excellent! I had the braised rabbit pasta and my husband has seafood plate. He loved it! Mine was good - not great. We ended with the semifredo which was good too. The prices were high, and with that in mind, this place was good - but nothing to write home about.

What a pleasant surprise! This was our second time at Gemma. The first was when it first opened so it had been awhile. Our server brought us warm bread and soft butter (which I appreciate) and it was delish. Then had the heirloom beet salad. It was delicious. I ordered the goat cheese pasta and would definitely order again. It tasted like a warm hug. Just fantastic. We will be back sooner than later.

Right to the top of my Dallas list. We cane here for our 7 year anniversary and absolutely loved it. The restaurant is nice and cozy, well decorated and casually elegant. Very nice place overall. Service was outstanding, our waitress was kind and fun, they offered a free sparkling wine glass to celebrate our anniversary and had a note on the table waiting for us. Food was delicious, flavors were really good and balanced. Pork and beef were both juicy, appetizers were also really good. They also have a nice bar. Overall a really good place to go, can t wait to come back.

As our first dinner in Dallas we ate at Gemma. We made a reservation and was seated promptly. They have a pretty extensive wine list but nobody in my family drinks so that was wasted on us but the food on the other hand was not. All the food was absolutely amazing! You really cant go wrong with anything here but I personally loved the Raw Oysters and the Pork Tournados Au Poivre! The Scones that are complimentary are to die for! Id compare them to the biscuits from Red Lobster in terms of addictiveness! They were Black Fig Scones with Gouda and were warm and fluffy; I couldve just ate that all night and been extremely satisfied!
