i cannot speak for anyone else as your experience may not feel the same. but to me, who has always wanted to travel to see the original, visited on the first day of fall. it was well worth the extra stop to see this in person! great job to the university and students who undertook this modern marvel

Beautiful replica to watch the sunset, on the summer solstice, it is the most perfect time to visit Stonehenge. During this time of year, the sun rises from behind the Heel Stone and its first rays illuminate the heart of Stonehenge.

Sign says you must obtain a parking pass so watch that your vehicle doesn t get towed. For some reason this is a replica of the site in its current state of disrepair. So you ll see stones that appear to have fallen from their intended position. It s interesting if you re passing through. I would not make a special trip for it.

Was in Odessa a a business trip and saw this on Maps. It was only a few minutes away so I went. Easy to get to. Free. Nobody was there, had the place to myself. I have been to Stonehenge and this is not an exact replica, but is still really cool. It is a stone henge, but not Stonehenge. I wouldnt make a trip to Odessa to see it, but if you find yourself in Odessa definitely swing by for a look.

One of the few touristy things to see in Odessa. It was interesting and I can imagine how much work it was for that class to recreate this Stonehenge replica. Free, with lots of parking available, some plaques with information about this recreation. Does not require a big time commitment to see.

I ended up here when I got lost looking for the eclipse viewing party that the university was hosting (I drove in from Richardson, TX). I was able to nab one of the last parking spots next to the exhibit, so I just stuck around here. Its 70% to scale and made of local limestone. Even at 70% scale, its still huge, and only adds to my appreciation for, and desire to see the real thing in England. Definitely worth a visit if youre ever in the area. As it was eclipse day when I visited, the place was packed with people. Im sure its not like this daily, lol.

This was way better than what I expected. The sheer size of the stones were very impressive. There are a lot of facts spread out around the exhibit detailing the history of Stonehenge. It is located at the entrance of the University of Texas Permian Basin. Parking was super easy and was not a problem at all. We came on a Thursday and there was no one else visiting but the weekends could be different, especially in warmer months. A really neat place to visit!
