One of my favorite swimming spot in Corpus Cristy. The best time to swim here is the beginning of October. This year we were at the end of September and the water bit because the waves brought jellyfish and the jellyfish poison spread in the water. Kids favorite attractions is also playing with crabs on the beach after the dark. You need flashlight for that. Toilets: Very clean Dog-friendliness: Yes

Im going right in the middle with my stars. We loved the beach. Nice, clean, not overly crowded like public beach access. Camp sites are another story. While they are well kept, the mosquitoes were AWFUL!!!! Bug spray barely kept them away. Too windy to keep citronella candles lit. Bathrooms were swarming with them day and night. Could not sit outside at night without being swarmed. So overall, great for day use. Beware if camping.

Visited on Sept. 8, 2024 after a week of rain and a tropical storm currently out in the ocean causing red flag winds. With the parking lot flooded, you can still try to park on the beach or there s the lot by the restrooms, it s just a longer walk. CHECK WEBSITE OR FACEBOOK for park updates before you go, as conditions can change quickly! Beach camping was currently closed from the high tide. There s currently tar present on the beach too, so bring baby oil and shoes you don t care about getting dirty!

Big rig friendly. They have electricity and water sites $25 + $7 per person and beach dry camping sites $13 + $7 per person. They have a black tank dump on way out. A picnic table for each spot. Bathrooms and shower house available, Gift shop too. Some spots flooded from the rain. The rangers were all great. The beach and waves were beautiful, I was not awake early enough to catch sunrise, bet it was beautiful tho. The breeze was constant, but not a problem as the dunes lessen it. There was a 27 ft rv and few tents on beach dealing with wind. The waves are always coming in according to Ranger. The beach had a combination of washed up and day use garbage. We picked up 2 bags full while there. The rangers saw we were picking up garbage and joined us with a tractor to scoop up the worse of it. It is a 4 x 4 drive on beach, it had just rained so packed hard. Even cars were there. There is a large granite rock wave break that people were fishing from. I was very happy with my experience there.

Great park! The beach is clean and has a few covered benches to leave your stuff at, or sit in the shade to get out of the sun. Even when Corpus and Port Aransas beaches are crowded, this one is mostly empty, so you can swim without crowds. The showers/restrooms are really high quality and clean. Beyond the beach, its fun to see the coastal plains untouched by the housing developments encroaching it on either side. Nice park!

They were considerate and were notifying people as they entered. There was an abundance of mosquitoes but thats to be expected at a natural park. Worth a visit. I also suspect its much calmer then the local beaches at night. So if you want less hectic camping or beach access I would suggest a visit

We had a really great time, but as women, watch yourselves. I had a strong feeling to get up and leave (we had planned for beach camping) so as we packed up and headed to my car I noticed there was a man looking through the windows of my vehicle. Jellyfish are on the rise as well, so take some vinegar or buy the spray, it s about 20 bucks in the main office (FIRST CONVENIENCE BANK OF TEXAS does not allow transactions here) cash or another type of bank card or credit card is advised. The night sky is BEYOND beautiful!! Winds are strong! Be prepared for not just sunburns, but wind burns as well. I do not easily sunburn, but this time I caught a sun and wind slap! MOSQUITOES look PREHISTORIC and they do not care about the deet! Showers and restrooms are available! Fairly clean considering they re public (just my experience over the weekend), and they also have quick rinse off showers located between the men s and women s facilities. Beach driving, just don t risk it. We witnessed even 4x4s stuck in the loose white sand! There s plenty of parking outside of the beach entrance, walking distance, might be a bit inconvenient, but it beats looking like a dummy!! Get there early for a picnic table. Toilets: Restrooms located on the beach. Dog-friendliness: Dogs are welcome, but have to be on a leash. Picnic area: Picnic tables are available, get there early.

We went to Corpus Christi on vacation and mustang island was highly recommended. We had already gone to other beaches. Mustang island had more trash than other beaches, it was more crowded, and the waves were more intense. They are definitely stronger around mustang island.

The beach was nice, as was the water and the breeze coming off the water. Nice and open, not too crowded at all. The only complaint I would have is the amount of seagull poo on the beach itself, although I dont really know if there is a lot anyone can do about that. If you want to fish, definitely look up when the best time to go fishing is. But if you just want a fun day or family day at the beach and to play/get in the water, this is a nice beach to do so. Definitely recommend having 4x4 for driving onto the beach. Playground: There is no playground on the beach. Toilets: The restrooms are up at the Park Office away from the beach. Picnic area: There are covered picnic area spots that you can pull your car up to.

The beach was decent, the low rating is for RV staying. The spots are awkward with two RV spots set up together. So you will probably be a group or have a group just outside the next RV. Each spot has a picnic table but if you re the lucky right side spot, the picnic table is opposite your RV door so it makes it weird. We had a large group in that small space between our two RVs until the mosquitoes chased them back inside. Lots of mosquitoes. We came just after a rain. The beach parking lot was flooded, RV spots were flooded. It would be nice to have pavement or concrete spots. The lines to the store and into the park were annoyingly long and SLOW. The store closes for lunch for like two hours. The workers were not friendly. It would be super nice to have a walking trail for RVers to get to the beach. We only found the road to access the beach. The showers could use loads of updating. Maybe great for day use beach goers but not adequate for campers. We won t be back.

Lots of mosquitoes at the campsites take bug spray. The beach is not visible from the campground. Very clean and overall enjoyable.

Staying here with an RV, youll be fine, but the advertising of hot showers, kayaking, bike trails, and hiking trails are all not true. The showers are cold, and there are no trails or kayaking anywhere remotely close to this campground. This is fairly close to the beach, but youll probably still want to drive over to it. My biggest complaint is how bland and boring this campground is...I mean its a texas state park, so I guess thats not a huge surprise. Theres nothing to do when there are red flag days (which there were the entire time we were there), and the RV sites are just crammed together on a big slab of cement.

Very nice camping grounds! And only a few minutes away from gift shops and local coffee shops(we clreccomend Wave Coffee and the Winstons candy shop in Port Aransas) There are power and water hookups for campers, or you can use the public bathrooms on sight that are kept up with daily Make sure to bring bug spray, and things for the kiddos when not at the beach, or plan to go to either Corpus or Port A Playground: No play ground Toilets: Kept up with Daily! Nice Dog-friendliness: Very dog friendly, simply keep them leshed(as signs will tell you) And pick up poo Picnic area: Several picnic tables at camp grounds and a few covered one on the beach its self.

I was happy that there were picnic tables, but there were 0 shells and jellyfish so we werent able to enjoy as much. One of the highlights was the Spotted Ground Squirrel that visited our picnic table!

The park extends both ocean side and bay side for nearly 5 miles. Both no-car and car sections of beach are available.

This was a wonderful park with miles of open beach. A very quiet place to connect with. You can park your car on the beach and camp. So fun!

Enjoyed a nice getaway with my family. Not overly crowded and can drive and camp right on the beach with a pass. There are nice showers and restrooms nearby.

Very laid back beach, want to bring your dog, go for it. Want to have a bonfire? Go for it. Want to drive on the beach? Not a problem. Want the clean beach experience? Nope, you have the bad with the good. Dog-friendliness: Dogs welcome,
