We are regulars at El Potro. We live right around the corner and eat breakfast there often. Were always greeted with a warm Bienvenidos. We love the food, the service, and the hospitality there. Its a great place to eat at any time of the day.

Lovely little place! Good food quality, friendly staff, and quick service. Highly recommend the beef soup and the cheese enchiladas as I found both to be extremely tasty meals. Their tres leches cakes are also very good desserts! Definitely a go to mexican place for my family and I from now on.

This is another great place to come for Texas Mexican food. Good customer service. Very spacious and not bad on price. Its close to the highway, hotels and the water. Ive tried a few dishes, to say they are good. Note worthy to remember where its at but forget what I ordered. Guess I need to go back and try something else again. I did try the menudo and nope. I didnt order it. The juice looked made-up of powdered seasonings rather than actual chile. Ill keep trying to find the best menudo in town.

For Break: order Coffee and it tasted terrible. Change to orange juice, that too tasted bad. Resorted to water. Order hash brown, bacon, ham and flour tortillas. Got hash brown patties from H.E.B. instead. The thinness slice of ham, from h.e.b., and bacon was extra crispy. Or shall we say burn. The tortillas were not hand-made, but store bought - with much preservatives. This was an imitation of mexican and american food. They need to send their cooks to the valley to get train. Will not go back or recommend.

Friendly staff, clean environment. Lots of choices available on the menu and the food is quite good. The serving sizes are generous. I had the Chimichanga which is available with your choice of meat. I picked the fajita chicken and it was absolutely stuffed full, and covered in queso. Rice & beans on the side. Took home over half the plate because there was so much food, enough to enjoy later. Chips & Salsa: the salsa is great, although a bit more watery than most. The chips are OK, but quite thin and many are overcooked. The entrées make up for the disappointing chips.

We chose to eat here from a Google search highest rated Mexican food in CC. Food was good, of course, but nothing to extraordinary from the typical Mexican food establishment. Service was pretty good. There were some wait staff with some stank face but they may have had a bad day. Regardless, our waitress was great. As far as atmosphere, typical restaurant. Not much flare at all and pretty basic. Overall, though, I do recommend this place.

We had a nice lunch here today. The staff are very friendly and attentive and the food is fresh and tasty. We had the fish tacos (a bit fishy smelling) good, but probably wouldn t order those again. Grabbed a late lunch after checking out Padre Island National Park. We were the only ones at the restaurant for the first bit but it was 3:00 Started off with margaritas guessing they were not tequila but still quenched the thirst. Hubby had chicken and beef enchiladas and I had the chicken verde enchiladas and they were both good. Also shared a crispy beef taco and loved the seasoning on the beef. Chips and salsa were good as well. Restaurant and BRs were clean and staff was friendly.

Stopped in for breakfast. Our first time here. Visiting for the weekend. My brother-in-law suggested coming. Great choice. Had the Barbacoa and egg breakfast. Delicious barbacoa, eggs done right, good beans and crispy potatoes. A wonderful meal. Our server was very attentive. Id highly recommend this place Parking: The parking area isnt too big, so on days when its really busy, it might be hard to find a space. This charming Mexican restaurant offers a delightful dining experience. I opted for the beef fajita Gordita and customized it with avocado, salad, and cheese. The only downside was that the fajitas were slightly overcooked. On the other hand, my husband ordered the combination plate and was disappointed by the taco and chalupa, which were unfortunately soggy. He mentioned that he would request them to be served on a separate plate next time. Nevertheless, the overall taste of the food was delicious.
