Went in with the intention today to convert from vaping to tobacco and just wanted a little information and knowledge. Let me tell u how horrible the service was in there. I walked my a$$ straight out without thinking twice. Beyond unwelcoming and recommend u take the extra miles and go to the one in Montgomery.

I stop in periodically and these guys are legit the best! I bought my humidor here, some really great sticks and LFD had an event but I was working clear across town that day. I called Mike s for my favorite LFD s they were nice enough too let me pay over the phone and grab a few that were left. Needless to say the cigars are gone but not the way Mike cigar s made me feel that day, important. Thanks guys, Kevin Switzer

Decent prices and selection but when people smoke in the lobby area there s barely any air filtration so you walk into a smoke cloud. Very difficult to breathe. They don t have a lot of cigars you can find online but they have most popular sticks. They ll often sell out of the nicer cigars because of multi-box buyers.

Called ahead to reserve some cigars I ve been looking for. Owner said he would set them aside, No problem . Had my friend drive 30 minutes to pick them up for me. When he got there, the owner says they sold them. In my opinion that s a pretty sorry thing to do. Update: Someone representing the store responded to my Facebook review (& this review) and blatantly lied trying to make it our fault they failed to hold the reservation. After replying with time stamps exposing the lie, I received an impressively apathetic, sorry you re disappointed.

Mike and Nancy have been in the cigar business for decades and know more about cigars then anyone. Their staff is always very helpful. I have shopped with them now for 20 years in the woodlands area and 10 years before that when they had a cigar store in the tunnels below downtown Houston. I recommend you skip buying your cigars at liquor stores and the groceries and instead visit Mike s for an awesome experience!

Starting coming to this place two weeks ago. Just a novice in cigars but have found it very enjoyable and relaxing. The people there are very friendly and very helpful in the process of choosing great cigars to accommodate my taste. Would recommend this to anyone and I will continue to purchase from there. Had to follow up. Started with my new hobby and visit here once a week. Everyone there is so helpful and friendly. I cant speak highly enough.

Recently started to really enjoy cigars but have ZERO knowledge on them. Walked into Mikes after seeing their google reviews and glad I did! I believe his name is Tony -- very helpful gentleman who I feel could tell me something about every cigar they have! He asked what kind of flavor/taste profile Im looking for, and proceeded to show me a few suggestions for beginner cigars. Finally, I made it to Mikes Cigar shop. My white whale of cigar shop stops. Hes the setup with 13 minutes left before closing I sprinted down North Frwy and made it inside with 5 minutes to spare (note: when I asked was there a real Mike, I was told I missed him by 5 minutes-must be nice to be the boss). Located in a strip mall and with signage that tower overhead, I entered Mikes expecting a lush mahogany wood paneled lounge with marble-all NYC downtown with Michelle Priefer laying on top of a piano. But, what I got was a rustic space reminiscent of a old pair of worn cowboy booths. The public smoking lounge were the two rooms that made the shop, but no worries, there were a few comfortable couches a d leather chairs-we can make that work. The staff was friendly and let me do a last minute viewing of the shop and humidor. I quickly sprinted inside a humidor that appeared to be twice the size of the outer room, but upon review, was an L shaped humidor with many ultra and premium brands. There was just enough to see a lot, but not enough you gave up of exhaustion searching the shelves. The cigar gods would be pleased with Mikes. I cant shake the feeling it was like driving to the gas station in Mayberry and Golmer filling your car up, but while you waited to make you feel at home as you wait offered you a smoke and a pop. Although, Mikes way out of my way. Like Mayberry, I was glad to have passed through and thus I recommend it as a cigar bar of note in Houston.

When I went in , it was like I was an alien when I asked some questions. Guy behind the counter was rude and not very helpful. Thanks for the reply back. I was in a hurry one day back then cause I was on the clock. Was looking for pipe tobacco and the guy could have cared less if he sold any at all. He however did ,. It was great smoke

Excellent cigar shop with extremely helpful personnel. They have many events where you can meet manufacturers to learn more about their cigars. They also host training sessions to help you understand how cigars are made and what produces different tastes. I was new to cigars when coming to Mikes and they have been very patient in helping me to find cigars that meet my tastes. Highly recommend this business!

been coming to Mikes for a year now, always buy more than 70 dollars in cigars, was profiled this last time and was asked to show my ID while I was in the humidor. Im 35....obviously thought I was stealing, I wasnt dressed up because it was the weekend, and my hair was a mess. the bottom line, you should ask for a customers Id at the register, I have no prob with obeying the laws of the store. but to use that for an excuse to shake me down with question was not only obvious but was just poor customer treatment in general. again, I have been a faithful customer for a year, but this will be the last time I will go to Mikes, I wish them the best of luck in the future. please reevaluate your customer service and try not to profile anyone.

Mike and his wife and the rest of the crew are very up to date and have taken my enjoyment of cigars to another level. The B&m where I started almost 7 years ago had two clerks that ran a registor and not much else. I would but 10 cigars or more and was never told anything about keeping the humidity at a certain range. They did not know which cigars were stronger etc. It was not until I moved to the Woodland and found Mikes that I learned what cigars smoking was. I had one there set back at my old BM. I was back in Tyler and let them talk me into a glass top desk humidor and 30 crappy cigars. I have since purchased 2 more solid top humidores and how to take a plastic Tupperware container and turn it into a humidore using Spanish cedar from old boxes and wraps from certain cigars. In a nut shale I have 4 very good places to store my cigars. Also at Mikes I can walk in and they know what I Like and what I dont. Now I go from losing 5 or 6 sticks due to the fact I knew nothing about what humidity my cigars should be kept at to learning what I Luke. I cant always put my finger on a particular taste in a cigar put I defiantly know what I dont like. I still use my glass top humidor but not for my best sticks. I have 2 more of them from Mikes as well as my tuppidor for over flow. I just want them to know I have not forgotten them. But since I can no longer drive I dont make it in as often as I would like. All I can say is there cant be a nother B&M store that can top this one in service and customer satisfaction. If you leave with bad sticks you dont like them I would say operator error because I know just how good the customer satisfaction is at Mikes. Thank you guys for helping me get set up so I can truly enjoy my Cigar smoking experiance.

Im new to cigar smoking, and have been stopping at the better rated Cigar shops in my area. I went to Mikes today, right of the bat as soon as I walked thru the door you can smell all the cigar aroma. and the folks there friendly as can be both the staff and costumers. Very pleasant place to have a smoke. Walked the cigar room and its large and loved the selections. Nice smoke parlor, looked like they had some regular good ole boys smoking theirs sticks have a good convo about BBQ and pits. Needless to say it was a good experience, loved the setup of the shop and the hospitality. They gain another new customer in myself.
