I honestly don t even know where to start because Katie is just all around AMAZING!! She is very communicative, professional, passionate, creative and considerate. Before we even got to the date of my session she was on top of everything, made sure I was comfortable and I was able to get my makeup done. The session was absolutely amazing!! Katie made me feel empowered and precious but made sure I was enjoying myself and having fun throughout!! Best photoshoot I ve ever had and I will be back without question. Katie is the real deal

You would have never told me that I would ever take boudoir photo. First of all I hate to take pictures second I am not photogenic at all. It literally took me 9 mths to decide that I want someone to take my picture and what I originally wanted was one in a long dress in a field. Well boy did I have a change of mind. Katy with Black Rose studio was the most patient and supportive understanding person that was placed in my life to teach me to love my body and to have confidence in myself to go outside the box. I wanted to do something different and special for my husband for our 33 anniversary and I finally did it. It was absolutely the most empowering feeling that I left with. Katy made me feel like a million buck she is so easy to work with and makes you feel so good about yourself. Don t be like me if you ever thought about it take the journey and just DO IT YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT!!

Y all!!! For real! What an experience. Top notch art work. Completely professional but fun. Took care of me like I was a total queen. I can t wait to come back for boudoirs with my hubby. She has so many options for quaint and more modest all the way to choke hold spicy. As a heavier woman, it s hard to step into showing off the goods. They made it easy peasy. Hooray for Katie! I was seeking a more risque, moody sort of maternity shoot, so I Googled boudoir photographers and Katie came up. I contacted her, and she was super friendly and prompt at responding. When we met, KAtie was so bubbly and casual, and she made what I thought would be a nerve-wracking experience a really fun one! Its like pulling teeth to get my husband to take a picture, but he even enjoyed himself. Katie was willing to tweak some edits that I requested, and she got our photos back to us in a short amount of time. It is very apparent that Katie loves what she does and is an expert in her craft.

You know how people say, I did [insert thing generally considered crazy/liberating/not-at-all-like-them] and it was great!? I always thought that was mostly b.s., especially where boudoir photo shoots were concerned. I mean there are just a thousand ways a boudoir photo shoot could go sideways, and as a fairly conservative natural pessimist, I never thought Id even consider doing such a thing. Enter Katie. I met her at a Bridal Expo and she was effervescent. I could immediately tell she loves her job and she loves people. I thought about booking a boudoir shoot as a wedding gift for my fiancé for months, and finally did. After contacting Katie, I knew we would click. Katie focused on every detail of my shoot, from her communication before the shoot to ensure she knew what I wanted to her incredible hair and makeup artist, who was somehow able to transform me into a better version of me without leaving me feeling like a clown, to the shoot itself, which was one of the most empowering experiences Ive ever had to her service after the shoot. And the photos are incredible. Every woman should do a boudoir shoot, and, in my opinion, everyone within driving distance should do one with Katie.

For Mothers Day, my husband gave me a family session, a gift that keeps giving. The shoot day was flawless. We arrived at the location and were warmly greeted in the parking lot. Katie helped us wrangle the kids inside and settled, engaging them while setting up the shoot. They quickly warmed up to the camera and location, resulting in fantastic photos. We completed the shoot in just an hour, impressive with a busy husband and two kids who have better things to do! But we all left with smiles and happy memories. Now, Im getting the photos and tearing up with happiness. This moms heart is full! I dont know how to choose just a few! She captured the beauty and love I have for my family in photos, a gift hardly given to a mom who is always struggling with mom guilt and anxiety. Katie was both professional and accommodating before, during, and after our photo shoot. The shoot was a gift from one of us to the other, and we chose Katie over other photographers because her photos had a beauty out of the mundane quality to them that the staged photos of other photographers didnt have. When we let Katie know this, she suggested a great location. It had several spots where we could draw with chalk, sit or stand next to a stream, pose on an unused train track, model near some interesting rocks, and have our photos taken near a park. Katie was amenable to our suggestions for silly photos as well as ones where we stared lovingly at each other, smiled or laughed while laying on the ground, etc. After the shoot was over, Katie scanned the photos into the computer with a watermark and let us look them over. We chose the ones we wanted and we downloaded them. The whole process was incredibly smooth. We highly recommend Katies services to any couple looking for a unique and enjoyable photo experience.

I was referred to Black Rose Photography by a friend of mine, and I am SO GLAD she sent me to Black Rose!!! Not only was Katie an absolute professional with incredible artistic vision, but she was able to work around my physical mobility limitations and STILL bring her vision to life! She was fun, engaging, and made me feel so at ease and so beautiful She also didn t hesitate to jump in with any extra guidance I needed and, as this was my first photo shoot EVER, I needed plenty of help! Lol! I can t wait to book another session with her and her INCREDIBLE makeup artist, Anavrin! Katie is one of the most unique and fun photographers I have ever used. I have never felt so comfortable with a photographer!!! I would HIGHLY recommend. Katie was so well organized, responded to messages instantly, has a quick turnaround time on photos, and she legit had every pose planned out for our session based on all the inspo pics I shared with her. Her personality really sets her apart from other photographers and that makes the biggest difference! She s fun, quirky, never makes things awkward, is hyping you up the whole time, cracking jokes, and really getting to know you. Katie did a fantastic job of capturing our small grandkids playing in and around the pool without many posed shots. They were very real moments and a reflection of what we see in them everyday. The kids warmed up to her immediately, told her stories, and wanted to show off for a picture. Katie was in and around the pool getting wet while getting the shot. I met Katie for a Boudoir Special she was doing and it was an amazing experience!
