Best barbecue on this side of town. When you get there, ask for Mr. Denise. She will take care of you. I have a full gluten allergy. She is patient with me. Never been disappointed or had any problems with my allergy. She ll take care of you, great food!

We stumbled upon this location in Texas City and were greeted by April, who provided friendly and great service. We ordered a sausage sandwich, chicken fried steak, and the appetizer wings that were deliciously made by Jose. Well be coming back for sure :)

Denise and Lily here at Texas Pit Stop are amazing. Greeted once I walked in and gave great recommendations. Food was hot and delicious. The fish basket was crispy on the outside and juicy in the inside. The pitstop sauce was very tasty and great flavor. Been here twice in one day and will definitely be back again. This place was empty and silent but clean when we entered. The lady who took our order seemed quiet and not very welcoming. We ordered and were handed two child sized cups for our drinks. She brought out the food and its wasnt very great. The twice-baked potatoes seemed 4 times baked with a microwave. The coleslaw wasnt edible for it had a very odd and bitter taste.The turkey was not too bad but smelled better than it tasted. The bbq sauce tasted like waffle syrup. My wife liked the fries and salad but her brisket was bland. This isnt bbq. Good luck

Today my family and I met the owner of Texas Pit Stop at the Pearland cook off competition. I am from New York, we went thinking it was a food truck festival, he was soo kind to take the time to tell us and educate us about the cook off event. He gave us a sample of his ribs to try, it was SO tasty, soft, flavoral, and crispy on the outside. It was the best ribs weve tried before! We cannot wait to visit his restaurant next time Im in Texas!

My coworkers and I stopped by here for a meal. Overpriced food, extremely low quality. Mac and cheese was old noodles with nacho cheese ? Chicken was small and flavorless. Making awful barbecue in Texas is a sin. 0/10.

My son and I chose this place because it was close to our hotel. We decided to go in and ask for a menu to see if it was something we wanted or not. The 1st lady we talked to was very helpful but simultaneously I there was a slightly older woman who was abrasive and short in her interactions with customers. She wasn t the worst person in the world but it was very noticeable. We boughtt 2 4 meat platters that each came with 2 sides. My son got the ribs, turkey, chicken and brisket w/ green beans and Mac & cheese. He did not enjoy the green beans as they were vinegary, but love the assortment of meat. I had the ribs, brisket, chicken and sausage. The chicken and ribs were delicious. The briskets was middle of the road and the sausage was the same. I got the Cajun potato salad which was hardly Cajun just a lot of mustard and the fried okra was delicious! I would go back but only as a last option. I even asked the unfriendly woman for another small bbq sauce and she replied usually it s an extra charge but I ll see if there s still some out. I mean we were there only ones there and it was about to close not a good way to make and keep customers. Very clean place and roomy with at least one tv on. I guess it just depends on how you value customer service.

I got the twice baked potato with bbq pork. The mild sauce is ok but thin. The twice baked potato was bland -meh -with bacon bits, not real bacon. Employees very nice. Food ready quickly. Better than fast food but barely.

I ordered through Uber eats, the loaded baked potato was absolutely disgusting, I also got a 2 meat plate (sausage and ribs with Mac and cheese for both sides) the Mac and cheese was gross it had no flavor and it was very sticky feeling while in your mouth and I didn t like that either. This places food should not even be called BBQ because of it is this is the hands down worst tasting BBQ I ve ever had. Also is was definitely overpriced for the quality of the food. And this review is coming from a White Texas born woman who knows how to season food properly. Please do better!!

Texas City-The brisket here puts the LaMarque location to shame. The green beans *(SHM) I could eat them without the brisket. Theyre well seasoned and simply remind me of my Granny. Keep up the good work and give the cook a raise

After church, I had been craving a sliced beef sandwich with Potato Salad. I was headed home, and decided to stop here. I am Super, Uber glad I did. This place is very, very nice and clean inside. TVs to watch every different Sports Major win there. The Food was DELICIOUS !! OMG! You have got to try this place. There were other people there, atmosphere friendly, and did I mention the Food? Get over there as soon as you can. I was not disappointed at all.. Texas Pit Stop, I will be back next Sunday, after church

Food did not look or taste appealing. I should have walked away when I walked in and saw they didnt have any business. Food is definitely over priced. The cashier was nice. The atmosphere is very open, feels and looks clean and has a beautifully painted back wall that could be a great photo opp. It was my first time and was a bit flustered from errands and rushing around. New to the area for 3 weeks thus far, weve tried 3 bbq restaurants thus far & hands down, the Texas Pit Stop Texas City Mall of the Mainland location wins. In fact, Ive had a rib plate & my roommate the chopped beef sandwich 6 times, would have been 8 if they didnt close so early. Thats an average of $50 a meal with sides. HOWEVER, it cost a $1 to save them from having to have an employee to answer the phone to take a togo order, by ordering online, then it discretely adds a tip that you really have to watch out for to adjust before checking out. And, when I ordered pickup online via my phone on July 11th, my order was charged a 20% tip, $9.59 on top of the $1 online order fee for me to save them time on the phone, drive to the restaurant, & get out in the heat to pick up an order with no special requests! I may have missed the discrete adding of the tip, but honestly didnt see a choice to change it or opt out on my phone. When I called immediately upon the new total showing what was being charged to my card, the girl that answered the phone at the restaurant said that I would have to contact the online service they used to get the tip taken off, but had no idea of who or what that service was or how to contact them. I would have been happy if the restuarant had given me a gift card for the tip amount for future use, but no such offer; in fact, the girl on the phone was totally unconcerned. So, now I will have to get my bank involved & will never provide them with the convienence of an online order again. The unresolved issue is why I took 3 stars off of what would have been a 5 star rating, to hopefully save others from the same sneaky expense.

So, Im reading some of the reviews for this place, and they are mostly mixed. That might be what its almost six in the evening and the place is empty....? Dunno, maybe its just in an odd location and the map takes you to the back entrance... Any way, my husband and I had a decent meal. He ordered a Brisket plate, with Cole Slaw and French frys. I ordered a Pulled Pork plate with Mac N Cheese, and Spicy Green Beans. My experience with the staff was decent, and they brought out our plates promptly. Ive had better seasoned pulled pork, but it was still pretty good. The Spicy Green Beans, where exelent, and the Mac N Cheese was nice and thick. My husbands plate was alright, the frys where good, but the slaw was not great, he said it had no flavor, but the brisket was nice, he liked it because of the flavor and that it had some fat to it. I spent 17$ on each of us. 15.99$ for each meat plate 2.99$ for each soda. So for 37.86$ I think it was a bit over priced. But overall I would come back, but I wouldnt get the plate, or a drink.

My husband and I popped in one day at lunch. Between 12 & 1pm and we were the only two people in the restaurant... for the duration of our 30 - 45 min stay. This place was clean, nicely decorated in western style. The lady who took our order was fine. We ordered and were shocked of the prices. $45 for two sandwiches, side of okra, side of small fries, and two small drinks. But, wanting to support local restaurants we paid and sat. The chairs are metal and too small for anyones hind end. We both ordered The Casper. My hubby ordered fries and I got the okra. When the lady brought us our food, it looked delicious. Served on a very small metal tray, it smelled wonderful. This is the worst sandwich to try and eat on a very small metal tray. It was a mess!!! The mac and cheese oozed out in every direction and there wasnt anywhere for it to go except on the table! It gave us a chance to look through the sandwich to notice the brisket wasnt hot, wasnt warm, it was room temperature. The buns were straight out of the package & hard. Not heated or buttered (or maybe toasted) as seen on their website. We were just glad we didnt get sick and we wont be back. We watched many people walk by and no one else came in. They all walked to other establishments. Thats not good for any restaurant. Two patrons in a hour wont pay the rent. Good luck.

the quality of the food is incredible, wish it was busier because they definitely deserve it. one thing I would definitely say needs to improve is serving size compared to price. my dad and I came and paid 50 dollars for the both of us, which is reasonable for high quality bbq, but the serving size for the near in particular was quite small for what we expected for the price. so once again I highly recommend it just for the house I would recommend higher amounts of meat served, as there was more empty space on my platter than meats.

this place definitely SMELLS better than it tastes. I spent an overall total of $70 just for most of it to go to the trash. The food is extremely overpriced for the quality and this is definitely not a place for MY PEOPLE if y all catching my drift. The chicken tasted completely unseasoned. Mac and cheese was very watery as well. The brisket was okay, and the baked beans were pretty decent too. The banana pudding was also a good 6/10 but the best thing I received from this location was the frozen drink. Im unsure of if the cook was absent or it was just simply a bad day for the kitchen but I wouldn t recommend this place to anyone.

Great service by the general manager after trying the LaMarque location with no luck, and very helpful getting us what we needed. Always great food, and nice to see the former mall being revitalized with new businesses. Will definitely be back in the future.
