Great trail system, best experienced in spring/summer, some flooded trails during rainy season, quite a few fun Geocaches dotted around the park as well. Pretty flat trails unfortunately, Id say the smaller trails are much more enjoyable than the larger and more travelled ones. Wildlife is a pretty common sighting around here, friendly deer, rabbits, snakes, interesting insects, and lots of cool birds. Some super cool points of interests can be found in different spots off the trails, some much more difficult to access than others. Be sure to pick up after yourself.

Absolutely fantastic park for birding! This is a stopping area for birds during migration, and hundreds of species can be seen all throughout the year. Trails are great for walking, running or biking, and there are several different loops you can take that all vary in length. Toilets: Restrooms are located at the visitor/nature center. Dog-friendliness: Great park to walk/run your dogs. City Ordinance Leash Law is in effect though, so dogs must be kept on a leash except for a certain trail in the very back of the park.

A beautiful walking trail for the entire family. Try and be quiet and listen for the different sounds of birds. Youll see rabbits, squirrels, and other nature in its natural habits. They even have a book library where my 2year old found the perfect book to take. Next time we come back we will leave one in there

Lick Creek gave us a beautiful hike with more than one option of trails to take. It is probably best to avoid during mosquito season, for there was plenty of standing water to breed them. The restrooms were clean and it seemed dog friendly.

Nice park and best trails I have found in the area. Yaupon Loop is the only part of the trails that was a little more rustic and that path got very narrow at some points, but all other paths are fairly wide and offer nice scenic views for a calm walk. Dog-friendliness: Dog-friendly park, but dogs are required to be on their leash the entire time and no dark park where they can run freely. Picnic area: Picnic spots are near the nature center

Im was in town for a few hours after visiting a friend at the hospital and wanted a place to let my mind wander n unwind from driving. There r numerous trails and paths that wind around this rustic wooded area. Its also equestrian friendly but know that it is a city park n it closes at dusk. There r modern air conditioned restrooms available during park hours. Toilets: Clean, modern and air conditioned. Need I say more?

Lots of cool plants and animals to spot, trail maps at eveicross roads and. Nature center that hosts many activities for adults and kids. Toilets: Present only at nature center in front of park Dog-friendliness: Have the only off leash trail in college station, but rest of park is on leash only. Very dog friendly.

A nice place to hike (or jog) through the woods and go birdwatching. The Iron Bridge Trail had a couple of large ponds (and many mosquitoes) on the path which made hiking undesirable. Other trails were fine with a couple of bridges over a creek which were nice. See if you can spot a white eyed vireo - nice bird call! Toilets: Restrooms available near the visitors center.

Had the most wonderful time on our 2nd-grade field trip! (the entire second grade) We are actually a group from Brenham, Tx so this was just an outstanding job. Not only did the City of College Station have activities planned for the kids but they helped the entire time! They had a relay race where the kids grabbed a handful of soil and flower seeds then ran around an area, tried to throw it at a target, and then run back and tag the next kid. This was great as the area the soil and seed were going was actually bare and the kids were helping the park plant! Then we were able to go into the park center and they provided butterfly coloring pages. While the kids colored, also answering questions about butterflies, then they cut them out and went out to the park to hide them! We had a little lesson then the kids were able to go back and find a friends butterfly! After that, they all took us on a walk around the park and we would stop and talk about different things it was such an experience and I was extremely thankful to the staff for being not only so kind and understanding to the kids and us parents but being able to handle all of us so well!! It was such a great experience and we are so thankful for helping our kiddos see the bugs/flowers/butterflies they have been learning about in person!

Great little park with several easy nature trails. Bathrooms are very nice. There is a pavillion to sit in the shade. Since it was early March there was little foliage, but I can imagine it is much more beautiful in the Spring. The office has trail maps and a self guided trail map that helps identify the local trees. Nice place to visit if you want a simple outdoor experience for a morning or afternoon. Also, it was totally free.

This is not a playground, so not super kid friendly 100% of the time. Now that its finally cooling off ever so slightly, my 11/2 year old is loving it. Its nicely maintained and has hiking trails. Its no Muir Woods but its a pretty neat park for College Station standards. Ive heard that there have been a number of active serial killers here, and that plenty of bodies have been dumped at this site. Given my fun experiences at Lick Creek Park however, youd never think it!

Some nice renovations on the trails and facilities in recent years, especially increasing the parking lot size. Unfortunately some of them removed some trees which is a bummer, but overall still a nice park. Years ago when it was off-leash, it seemed like there were a LOT of poorly behaved off-leash dogs here. Fortunately that no longer seems to be the case.
