Drove from Lufkin Tx just to get some good ole southern classic! The food was great! The only problem was that we asked for sweetened tea and got unsweetened tea. No pressure gotta wash that chicken down with something right? Will be returning!

This place puts Church s and Popeyes to shame! I was hesitant to try it because there are some ugly reviews .but do yourself a favor and try it for yourself! The order taker was clear, loud, and precise. The young man at the window was very kind as he was asking me to pull around to the front and wait for my fresh fries. ALL MY FOOD WAS FRESH. And delicious. And affordable. This is our chicken place now.

Freshly cooked and seasoned just right. You cant go wrong with Southern Classic Fried Chicken, and please dont forget the peppers. Ive been to a lot of restaurants with young staff members, but yesterdays visit was really professional and they had very good manners. Something you dont see much of out of our youth these days. Again I would recommend this particular one to everyone who loves some good ole fried chicken and service with a smile.

We went at 1030 ish and had to wait for chicken which wasn t an issue. The issue is I got a 16 piece dark and thinking I was getting freshly cooked chicken and my chicken tasted refried and it was extra salty and dark in color. Usually my food is pretty good but yesterday it was horrible. I live 45 mins away and wasn t going to drive back to get a new order of chicken. It sure makes me rethink coming back. This is my favorite chicken, but the crew let me down. Me and FOUR other cars had to pull up and wait because they were behind. Such a warning when I ordered would have been SO much better. I wouldve come back after I picked up my son from work rather than be late for him. Lets make the service match to awesome food!

Rarely leave reviews but its really a shame when you order a 10-piece family meal and when you get home there are only 7 pieces... We live over 5 miles away and dont care to go back just heard this was one of the better places in town. Did the drive thru. The customer service was excellent. We ordered 85.00 worth of stuff. The lady with the lip tattoo on her neck was awesome and patient. I would hire her to train all of my employees. Chicken was perfect. Mashed potatoes were very plain, and that was disappointing, but I added some salt and a lot of black pepper. Red beans and rice were good. I will go here over popeyes, KFC, or churches.

I honestly love Southern Classic Chicken, but the last two times I have gone through the drive thru, my order has been wrong. Today, I ordered a Classic #1,Mixed, side order of okra. I get back to work, open my box, I have a 2 pc dark, leg and thigh. I paid for $9.30 for a mixed but received an order that cost $6.99 plus tax. We are now closer to this one and thought wed drive the 35mins to eat there. I got a 3 piece mix. They gave me a thigh that was cut in half so I got the fried bone part. I dont know why theyd even tried to serve that part. You could tell it was just the boney part of the thigh and then a dried out leg. The breast was good. The roll was dried out also. When we tried to go back to the window to ask for better chicken and for spoons and the lady motioned us to go back through the drive thru. We told her why if we had our food and the line was long. She signed that the window was closed. We wanted to eat in the parking lot since the trip home was over 30mins away. Why did she just stand there looking at us and the other 2 were on their phones?! I have to say the rest of our food was good but the CUSTOMER SERVICE SUCKED!! and for that reason only we wont be back. I rather drive to Tyler where they treat the customers like family. I always try to give a fair and honest review, that being said ..I m from the NW. When we moved to Texas, I discovered Churches Chicken and it became my new gold standard. After a friend recommended Southern Classic Chicken, I decided to give it a try. First off, the red beans are the best flavored bean s I ve had in my life! Absolutely amazing! Second, the chicken if you like extra crispy with a tiny bit of spice, this is your place. It was absolutely the best fried chicken I ve ever tasted. Placed my order the drive-thru. After I paid for my order I was told that I would have to wait 20 to 30 minutes. Usually they tell you before you pay. I asked do I receive a drink or an extra piece of chicken for having to wait. I was told I could get an apple pie. I stated I dont eat apple pies. I really would like a cup of cold water. They suggested that I dont drink the water. I asked what do they suggest I drink? They offered me a Fanta Strawberry drink. I explained to the workers that I was from Shreveport born & raised home of the 1st Southern Classic Chicken. When customers have to wait half an hour something is offered for waiting. The chicken was hot & crispy, fries were fresh & hot. The rolls are not the original but they will do. It was worth the wait. The grease needs to be changed. I would recommend this Southern Classic, just dont go if you are hungry & dont want to wait for the cook to marinate & flour the chicken.

Time vs. Quality Quality will always win. The wait time in drive through at times can be a bit extreme but for the love of chicken I would ask Jesus if he could postpone his return for my near daily fix. Preface: My family and I are new-ish customers to Classic Southern Chicken, and have only been to this location. The staff are hardworking and pleasant. The chicken (regular and tenders) are hot, juicy with the proper amount of spices. The sides we have tried (red beans and rice, Cajun rice) were fairly decent, but not for the advertised price. The chicken prices are fairly comparable to other locations. One of the main reasons my family and I return to this location is because of the staff. If there was an option to tip them - I absolutely would. It s often a thankless job in this industry, but I want y all to know we appreciate and value you , as Im sure others do as well. I recommend this establishment for the food AND the staff.

Their rolls are horrible I dont even know why they serve that, they Literally just pull it out of a plastic bag I mean no honey not even hot rolls And they are dry as hell thats embarrassing

The food was so good never had it before hot n fresh the flavor wàs unreal we need one in pine bluff Arkansas. The young lady that served me was so professional very nice and helpful with me ordering my food. I will definitely be coming back to southern chicken on high street.
