Great spot for photos, but be careful with timing because its a lot of very sunny, open spaces. Its also definitely a popular spot for walking and biking. We managed to find this partially shaded and secluded area for photos, and the backdrop turned out great! I think the open area by the water would be amazing during golden hour *Update: I went for a sunrise session and it was beautiful!

Well kept park with paved and off-road trail options. The trail passes multiple parks for kids to stop and play. The trail is decently shaded with nice views along the way. We will definitely be coming back. Playground: Several playgrounds are located along the trail Toilets: Restrooms were available near playgrounds

I love Brushy Creek Lake Park! Its so nice to go down and see the water, and there are a wide stretch of different trail/paths to go on. I have more to explore so I will be back! Theres a little bit of space for everyone and every kind of activity you want to do. Picnic, playground, fishing, boat rentals?, sand volleyball, biking, walking, running, etc. They also have a bathroom which is nice, always been relatively clean when Ive been. The one trail past the dam has some interesting fossils along the path? I couldnt tell if they were embedded or printed but it was intriguing either way. The design of the dam related structures were also visually appealing and interesting. A great contrast between the natural and fabricated. Playground: The playground seems to be well maintained with lots of interesting areas, it is also covered by a kind of awning with partial light, and benches near the edge of the playscape area. There is also a sand volleyball court nearby. Toilets: men and women restrooms with stalls. There is a sink with the kind of faucet you have to be holding down on the button for water to come out. But they are usually stocked with TP and soap and arent super dirty. Dog-friendliness: Park seems dog friendly as long as you keep it leashed. I didnt see a designated dog area, so it would be good if youre walking or running with the dog. Picnic area: Different sheltered picnic areas with groups of tables and names to help you communicate with others for location. There are also some benches scattered around different areas of the park and I believe some unsheltered picnic tables near that area. It is all next to the playground which is convenient for families/kids.

This is one of Austins most expansive and topographically diverse parks. From West end to East end it is quite a journey past sports fields, a lake, through a marsh, over a majestic hill, through a forest, and past several meadows. Along the way Ive seen many deer and large birds. The trail is sometimes concrete and sometimes dirt, crosses several bridges, and parts into enough wandering paths that I feel I can visit many times without needing to walk the same trail. There are a few restrooms positioned near the parking lots. Toilets: There are restrooms near the multiple parking lots.

Brushy Creek Lake Park is a fantastic destination for both families and outdoor enthusiasts. Its a perfect spot to capture beautiful bluebonnet photos, especially during springtime when the blooms are at their peak. The park offers fantastic playgrounds for both kids and adults, making it an ideal place for family outings. The childrens playgrounds are well-maintained and full of exciting equipment, while the adult areas provide great spaces for relaxation and exercise. The trails are another highlight of the park, offering scenic routes for walking, jogging, and biking. Whether youre looking for a leisurely stroll or a more vigorous hike, the trails at Brushy Creek Lake Park have something for everyone. Overall, Brushy Creek Lake Park is a gem in the community, providing a wonderful blend of natural beauty and recreational activities for all ages.

Genuinely idyllic. We had a lovely stroll along the water and through the wildflower fields, plus climbing up and walking the length of the dam. People were hosting gender reveals, flying kites, and taking family photos, but there was plenty of room for everyone. A snake did fall out of a tree onto us as we were walking, though. We did not love that.

As far as parks go, it was great. The new residents in the area have no respect for nature. The parks department tries to keep things right, but it is obviously too much to handle. Ive seen damage that can only be described as vandalism and people commenting that they thought it was cool. It could be a great place again.
