We ordered a catered meal for 50 on September 14th. The price was so much cheaper than any place we had called so, I was afraid we would regret choosing C&J. But, when picking the food up, the staff were totally on the ball. Everything went so smooth. The food was extremely good and we received numerous comments. I enjoyed my meal but am thinking the original out Hwy 30 is a bit better. Do like the jalapeño cheddar sausage. The odd part of the experience as I was leaving there must have been 15 feral cats behind the building next door Parking: Was not hard to get in & out. Bar b q is subjective. C&J had very well cooked meats, but they didnt have much flavor for me. Their sauce was great, but I prefer meat with the flavor cooked in. The jalapeño cheese sausage was excellent, and sides were good, just not the bar b q I like. Definitely worth trying, you may love it. It was a great price for bar b q.

We had a party of six so we went to the one downtown which has extra tables cuz we have the grandkids with us, since we moved way out of town this is our treat when we come back to visit usually we find the chicken cross the bone so easily but for some reason we had to cut it off the bone was not completely Cooked as usual

Okay Ive been a customer for years now and my most disappointing thing is when I go in and order take out and when they take my plate to the person at the register and they tell them what is on the plate they turn around and open your plate to see for themselves what is in the plate I am very disappointed this you guys are touching money and credit cards all day and you want to open my plate of food with unclean hands my question is for the owner please come up with a better solution for the one that is working at the register to not open the plate for the carry out why cant they just take the word of the person that is bringing the plate to the register and for that reason Im very disappointed and for the handling of the carry out this is a 1 star rating for me

The sliced brisket had an amazing taste without the sauce. I left a touch of the fat on my cuts of meat which offered a delightful taste and texture. Add their potato salad and some fried okra for a filling meal. Definitely worth a repeat visit the next time Im in College Station.

The last time I had C&J s was in 06 almost 20 years ago. I m glad to see there are multiple locations now, I had forgotten the brisquet is so tender you can pull it apart with your fingers. Great Food, when they are not out of 85% of Whats on the menu we come here regularly for our Wednesday BBQ fix EVERY TIME they are out of Turkey, Brisket, Ribs or baked potatoes At least 2 of the 3 they are out for the night .. at 5:30-6:00-6:30 I would understand if it were 30min before closing or something but they are still open for hours Have been told that the kitchen manager makes the call on what to put out and how much to have ready for service per day Well, either they need a new kitchen manager or they need to wrap up what was not sold and save it for the next day I have seen people walk out due to this issue Sad because it is an awesome facility

When eating at the new location for the first time when they just opened I was highly disappointed. However, we went back a few months later and the food was much better, the service was great, and the restaurant had a great atmosphere. I understand that when the new restaurant opened some hiccups came along with it, but they have gotten better since that time! We had my son s birthday party today and catered C&Js BBQ. The request was for them to get the food to us by 10:50am- 10 minutes before the restaurant was even open. At 10:48am today, we had a ring on our doorbell and it was C&J s! Their punctual service made things go so much smoothly for the party. The food was exactly what we ordered and supplied a group of 12. It was perfect! Everyone was stuffed by the time the party was over. I can t recommend their catering service enough. We had driven by this business many times. We finally decided to try it. We were greeted as we walked in the door. We ordered our food and sat down to eat. My wifes chopped beef sandwhich was huge. I ordered the baked potato with chopped beef. I do not know why I ordered this. I have never received a fluffy baked potato at a bar b que restaurant. I guess they get hard and gummy setting in the warming tray and wrapped in foil. This is not just this restaurant. It seems to be all bar b que restaurants. If someone finds a bar b que restaurant with fluffy baked potatoes, please let me know. I love them with chopped beef. We also love banana pudding. We read that they have the best. Not so much. We have had much better. Sorry. As usual, you can expect the meal to be expected. Bar b que (restaurants as a whole) has gotten so expensive since the pandemic. This restaurant is what we consider as average. Give it a try.

I had ribs, brisket, loaded potatoes, beans and white bread. The ribs were nice, big and delicious. The brisket was so dry like it had sat to long under the heat lamp. The potatoes tasted OK but the beans tasted like they were a couple days old. The bread was stale. I was sorry that I ate there. It wont happen again.

Some of the worst BBQ Ive ever had. Tastes like what fresh leather smells like. Tender but tastes like the smell of a new boot. 3 meat plate, ribs, pulled pork and brisket. This is my 5th time to your restaurant plus several drive thru meals. The first 3 lunch meals I can said were excellent however the 4th and 5th times both a dinner meal were only average. The food is not hot for dinner meals. My favorite is the peach cobbler which sadly this last meal was also cool and not hot as usually served. The 2 ribs served on a 2 meat plate were so small plus one rib end was so tough I couldnt chew it. I dont want to leave on a negative note; your new Red Chilli Hominy is a terrific new addition. I will be back but warm it up and next time serve a girl a couple larger ribs!

UPDATE: Aug. 15, 2023 Attended another retirement luncheon at C&Js. Love that they have variable sized party rooms for any size group. The meal was served buffet style in our party room. We had chicken, ribs, brisket, sausage, potato salad, beans, loaded potatoes, pickles, onions, peppers, banana pudding, peach cobbler, bread and tea. I smiled it all and it was delicious! They are easy to work with and do a great job. Great place for an event. They also have counter service where you can order what ever youd like. *************** Original review: Joined a group for a retirement party of 27 or so people on a Wednesday at 11:30 at the new location. What a nice facility. We were in one of the small rooms which was a tiny bit crowded. We shared a party pack of brisket and smoked turkey, potatoes, green beans, cobbler and all the trimmings. It was all yummy but the peach cobbler was amazing! The staff was friendly and attentive. Congratulations on the new location!

So the bbq here is good. my husband n I wanted fish Sunday so i ordered fish online and asked to pick it up at 340pm.. Got there at 340 and they said its still cooking. waited another 10 to 15 min for a 3 piece fish plate with okra and fries and xtra side of okra. when I got to my car good thing I checked..only had one side of okra.. had about 15 fries scattered across 3 VERY SKINNY TINY pieces of fish. made it home and it was the WORSE fish Ive EVERE HAD!! DESSERT REVIEW: 7/25/23 @7:20p Went to go grab some dessert from here since the new location, two banana puddings and one cobbler (peach) . Well it was a 6/10, I will definitely not try again because unfortunately they weren t as good as I remembered. My mom s banana pudding had no bananas and mine had FROZEN bananas. So . Yeah C&Js ., get it right with the desserts okay!?! I had frozen bananas that taste like they came out the freezer in my banana pudding.

Nice clean restaurant but food was horrible chicken was cold sauce was nasty just paid 43.00 to take it home to feed to my dogs.We were very disappointed not diabetic friendly at all every meat has sugar either in it or on it. The tea was bittered

I had their catfish and hush puppies. Incredible!! Best meal I ve ever had at C&Js!!! The catfish was done to perfection, and I got six hush puppies!! SIX! Instead of the two I usually am given at other places. This will now be my go-to meal at C&Js!!

Hands down one of my favorites. I love that they have a drive thru now. The food is always fresh. I got the ribs today and they were fall off the bone delish. Best in town!! Yall are doing a great job. Keep up the good work;)

Sausage and cheese wasnt satified the flavor chicken and ribs were tender juicy the sides were satisfying I would surely eat there again and let family and friends to go too C-Js for a great meal barbecue staff very friendly

I was really looking forward to this outing with my Daughter. I ordered a mixed plate with Sausage and Brisket and okra and coleslaw. The food was not warm at all. The sausage was so tough I couldnt chew it. Dry I had to add lots of BBQ sauce. The Cole slaw was too stringy and thick it got stuck in my throat. The okra not warm at all. The mashed potatoes I have to say were good. But were not warm either. I was very disappointed I didnt eat much at all I let my daughter take it home and see if my Grandaughter would eat it. Its just not the same quality as it used to be. I was very unhappy with it. And really wanted to enjoy this Lunch with my daughter. I feel like we made the wrong choice of picking this place. I hope its not like this all the time. Because I have heard some like it some dont. Oh and the Ice Tea was delicious

The meat was perfect but the sauce was not to my liking the sides were excellent ,the reason I didnt give them a five is they forgot to put the blueberry cobbler in my bag ,but I tell you if I could afford it I would eat there everyday the food was the best never had blueberry cobbler before ,but I tell you taste like somebodys Grandmother or Mama cooked it Woooeee to Good!!!!

Sadly, after being a loyal supporter for many years, I have to update to a less than perfect review. There has been a noticeable drop in food quality at the new locations drive-through. After the third time of ordering sliced beef sandwiches, and getting home to find nothing but fat, never again. I have included a photo of what I paid for last. Must be a management issue at this location.
