Stopped quickly at the place to pick up some sushi to go. The staff were kind, the atmosphere was pleasant, and the sushi was delicious! I ordered three different rolls (Philadelphia, Tuna, and Alaskan rolls). They were very fresh and definitely hand rolled. They did not disappoint and were priced nicely for what you get. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Stopped here for lunch on a Sunday. My wife and I were craving sushi and this place was not busy. The inside was clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful with the menu. Everything we ordered was incredibly fresh and delicious. The decor was charming and relaxing music played softly in the background. We will definitely return as Sushi Box was an instant favorite of ours!

I am completely satisfied with the food and service. The person at the counter was very courteous and even offered me more sauce. Why would you say youre open until 9:30, but turn away orders the last 30 minutes? The girl working tonight said they stop taking orders at 9:10. It was 9:11. Weird because when we order every other time, it always takes 5/10 minutes and theres never an issue? Dont understand why business would be turned away... We could have waited outside? Not like we dont tip or that we came busting the doors down 5 minutes before they close... They had almost half an hour left and were slow. Really, really sad. This is the first time weve had really any issue in the YEARS weve frequented here. So disappointed and heart broken to see the customer service going this way especially in one of our favorite restaurants.

We went in expecting a fast casual dining experience but ended up with more of a fast food experience. The sushi tasted good, but I had to run my credit card for each individual transaction. For instance, we arrived and purchased drinks (bottle drinks only), 1 transaction. We then decided to get edomame, another transaction. We ordered our sushi, another transaction. My daughter wanted another bottle of soda, another transaction, etc. Etc. The staff was friendly and the food was good, but it just wasnt what we expected.

Was really craving some sushi so I found this place in Rockwall. When I got there I was handed a paper menu.... Not quite sure what I was supposed to do I just found a table and sat down. I looked through the menu and found what I wanted and waited for someone to come take my order but nobody came. I guess I was supposed to go to the counter to order? But nobody told me that so how was I supposed to know? They were three younger girls at the counter that kept looking at me sitting down, I felt like I was back in high school the way they were looking at me and then smiling at each other... My suspicions were confirmed when I started walking up to them and they said shes coming... That made me feel really uncomfortable and really disappointed in what was going on. After that I handed them the menu back thank them for their help and drove myself to Kaizen across the bridge. They had way better service. Will definitely be going there for sushi from here on out even though its a little bit more of a drive

Freshest sushi we have had in a long time! Super delicious options! Awesome fast customer service. Only thing I m not a fan of is paying extra for sauce when paying 60 dollars for sushi. Solid choice for Japanese and Sushi in Rockwall. I have been eating at Sushi Box at least a couple of times a month now, and I love this little hidden gem. You may not even realize that it is there, but they have plenty of sushi, sashimi, rolls and bento box selections. The only reason I do not want to give them a fill 5 stars is that they only have can/bottle drink selections. This is more of a spot for takeout, but they do have a small dining room with interior seating as well as some outdoor tables if the weather is nice. As for the Sushi? As good as you can hope to find in a city like Rockwall, for whatever that is worth.

The sushi was delicious, and they were great about making changes to the items (removing or adding to a roll) for a price. There was plenty of parking. I was upset that my order, which was supposed to be ready in 30 minutes, was not ready until 50 minutes. They didnt even start making my rolls until I arrived and paid additional money because I did not want the cucumber wrap. The woman working the register was very nice, but one of the cooks got very rude when I asked about just getting the rice and seaweed instead of cucumber on the outside and rudely insisted I needed to pay more for the soy wrap. My phone number was on the order, and I could have been called to sort this out instead of being singled out in a busy restaurant. Despite that experience, the food was delicious, and I would give them another shot.

This place is a few hundred feet from my house, and I drive right past it when I get sushi. I have tried it several times, and Ive never left feeling satisfied. I would advise Kaizen, Edohanna, Edo Japan, Kyoto, sushi go, and Tokyo hanna in that order before sushi box. I have no idea how this place has lasted so long.

This is my go to sushi restaurant. It has not failed me to this day. I have tried almost all their special rolls. My favorite right now is the volcano roll, however, geisha, fire dragon mountain, and tiger roll are also delicious. The fine in experience is fabulous. Picture doesn t give justice.

Now when I give service a 2 its because they are set up in a weird way. But if I rate the chef who provides the sushi (who is also probably the owner), the service was a 10+. That wont make sense unless you visit this place. It is down to earth good sushi! Sushi to us is like chillins, I dont eat everybodys sushi...We were pleasantly surprised. Sushi Box has been our go to sushi place a couple times a month for the past year at least, due to convenience and price. I do really like the 911 roll and order it every time along with 2 or 4 other rotating choices because they offer a volume discount when you purchase 2, 3, or 5 rolls. While their rolls are always pretty fresh, they leave a lot to be desired. Most of the rolls in the specials category are basically just variations of each other with the same ingredients assembled in a different way. I know a lot of sushi restaurants do this, but Sushi Box really leans in to the practice and basically just utilizes spicy tuna, crabstick salad, and shrimp tempura over and over. It gets boring quickly. Unfortunately, the portions and rolls have also been really inconsistent for a few months. Sometimes their rolls are portioned fine and other times they are TINY (as if they only filled them half way), and often they are messy and falling apart so its hard to pick them up and eat the pieces as one cohesive unit, which kind of ruins the experience of a ordering a roll. I spoke with the manager a few weeks ago back before posting a review - they deserve an opportunity to work on their consistency issues (and she did offer me a credit to make up for a particularly bad night when the rolls were SO tiny it was like we only got half our order), but we have been back at least three times and we are still really disappointed. So now Im offering a warning to those who arrive to Sushi Box hungry: you may also leave hungry and could be worth opting for Sushi Go or Tokyo Hana nearby (rolls cost about $1-$4 more - but they are MUCH bigger, have more variety in fish and other ingredients, and are neatly rolled. Hopefully they work out their issues and add some more variety to their menu. I do want to support local, smaller restaurants like this one, but they also have to be good to deserve the business.

Flavors and freshness are there, but visually speaking this place needs some work. Rolls are inconsistently portioned. I ve never seen an Alaskan roll with oddly cut pieces of salmon on top. A piece of our salmon roll had barely any fish compared to the other pieces. They used the wrong seaweed for our salmon roll(they used a hand roll seaweed instead of a sushi roll seaweed) and they don t use sushi rice(it was regular rice and not sticky). We were surprised on how fast the rolls came out, but would ve preferred to food to come out slower, so that presentation was better. It s clear that the Japanese art of sushi is not here. It s more like fast food sushi. This place is on the right track.

The food here is awesome and fresh!! The volcano roll was absolutely my favorite!! Not too heavy despite the looks, flavorful, and just the right amount to order with other appetizers and dishes. super yummy sushi! The staff were nice and welcoming. The reason why I gave 4 stars is because the waitress came to my table twice with sushi that was someone else s order (could have been more organized with the serving). And the little soy sauce plates they gave me were used and not washed. Over all, 4/5. Would come again.

Did not get a chance to pick up take out from here bc I walked in and over 75% of the employees were not masked. The health and safety annotation needs to be removed from this location as the employees are not compliant with mask policy. Sadface. I bet the food is good but with covid numbers on the rise staff need to be marked.

I went to Sushi Box with my friends and it was a great experience. Sushi Box is one of the best sushi places I ve been. The service is great and as well as the quality of the food. Love the caterpillar roll especially

Semi Hole in the Wall kind of place. Service staff is very friendly and courteous. Food is well served and sushi is on point. Prices are more than reasonable. Highly recommend this spot if you want some really good sushi without having to dress up or pay extravagant prices

I want to be nice because the staff was so friendly, but I have given up on looking for decent sushi in Rockwall. The food was ok, but they dont serve real nigiri or do fried rolls. First off, the seafood is a little more fishy than it should be. They use a crunchy coating there till it in to make it feel that way, kinda like msg dipping dots. The tempura shrimp seemed like it was out of a frozen box like fish sticks. I feel like the sushi chef flunked out of sushi school because he was phoning it the night before the exam by using the microwave and air fryer in his dorn room. But everyone was nice. I wouldnt go back because I appreciate good sushi and how hard it is to make and these are 3 star prices for 2 star sushi.

Ok sushi but sad to say it s about the same quality as store bought sushi. I can usually tell fresh ingredients by how my stomachs reacts and honestly I don t think the ingredients were as fresh as claim. I got an upset stomach and unfortunately won t be ordering from them again.

Best sushi Ive had since moving to Texas a few years ago. Its VERY hard to find good sushi here. Last time I went it wasnt the best experience. But to be fair, Ive been 5 times and had good service and food until now. I order the volcano roll, and Ive ordered it so many times, and they know me that I no longer have to say I want it with scallops. Well this other server took my order and she didnt ask, so I got it with crab. Not the end of the world, just not my preferred fish on that roll. White tuna shashimi this time was also half frozen, which took a lot of the flavor out of it. I was quite disappointed, especially when its nearly a dollar per slice of fish. Otherwise, great experience.
