I was tricked into going to this place late night & was not a fan at all. This place doesn t clearly advertise that they re serving fake meat because they know it ll drive people away. Can t get over the dishonest marketing and overpriced slop. 0/10 I would not recommend my worst enemies to eat this as their last meal. If you re into this type of stuff though I can see it being appetizing

Update: Arlos CEO was prompt to respond and refund. I greatly appreciate it and looking forward to continuing to support Vegan food and great customer service. Thank you! I placed a delivery through Toast and after an hour called to inquire about its whereabouts and found out that they couldn t do anything about it because of a third party responsible for the delivery. So, I placed another delivery order through their website. Guess what happened? Another hour passed and called again to inquire about its whereabouts and they responded that they do not do deliveries well then why is that an option online? I spent $25 for order #1 and $37 for order #2. I gave the non-existent drivers $8 each for tip. At this point it was 10:30pm, so I asked them to donate the food. This is unacceptable on every level.

I was excited to try a burger from this place, but when I approached the truck to order the person working had a bit of an attitude, did not confirm my order and as a result I ended up with something I did not want. I wanted to try the frito pie burger which seemed different and ended up with just the frito pie. It consisted of melted vegan cheese and bean chili and frito chips. I was not a fan of the dish maybe it would have tasted better if the chili was seasoned better. I also ordered tater tots, and they were definitely over fried. I dont recommend this spot. Burgers were garbage! I dont even know that they would have been good drunk. Had the bacn cheezeburger and the only thing any of it tasted like was wet paper towels. The individual who was serving was alone and rather unsavory. Maybe they were tired or going through something, either way. . .do yourself a favor and have a better vegan burger elsewhere. Vegetarian options: Vegan food.

Everyones experience is different but the food wasn t good. The mac and cheese tasted just awful and it was greasy looking. The chicken sandwich had no flavor either. It was cheap food which was the only positive. I should of gone somewhere else. I get it s vegan, but that s no reason to not have flavor in the food.

I was generally disappointed with the quality of the food at this place. Got the bacon burger and chickn sandwich. Both came out lukewarm. The tempeh bacon was the best part but generally, which I m sure is evident by the photos it was unexceptional. Chickn was not as crispy as one would hope.

Not really sure what to say other than, listen to your customer s feedback. I like many others in these reviews showed up expecting juicy beef burgers, real chicken etc. Yet it appears that after 4 years this owner refuses to make it clear that this is a plant based food truck. Which is fine and all, yet ..Why wouldnt you just make that clear? Plenty of people clearly like your food, why not eliminate those low star reviews from your rating? As I read the menu I realized it was not real meat but without deep inspection online you simply can t tell. I can imagine many have walked up to this food truck with the same experience. Yet out of hunger and zero desire to find another place to eat, we gave it a try. Food: Subpar at best. We ordered the The Hoss and The Ranch Hand with tots. The brisket tasted ok by itself, with all the other stuff on the sandwich it was just above palatable. Ate about 3/4 then tossed it. The chicken was absolutely bland, left an unappetizing taste and feel on the tongue. We stopped after 2 bites and tossed it. The tots were good and cooked well so good job there at least. Service/staff: Unimpressed. Not even a smile, a hello or thank you from the staff while ordering and pick up out our food.

I came here twice last week while staying at the Sheraton down the road. One time for dinner and one time for a late night snack after the vegan burger for dinner was so delicious. The first time it was the vegan burger and I had the Mac n Cheese. M n C was good but a striking spice flavor. Second visit got the vegan chicken sandwich which hit the spot. Did take some of the jalapeños slices out but just saw how much food you get. Would definitely recommend this spot!

The vegan burgers are actually solid. The sides are a little subpar. Low rating because of the service. They paused taking orders for 30 minutes to get caught up in the kitchen, which caused a bunch of confusion and slowed things down even more. Instead of just taking orders and extending the wait time, they made a bunch of people wait. People who waited the full time were cut by people who had just gotten there. The whole thing didnt make rational sense. The real kicker was you could still order to go on-line...

Great spot for vegan burgers. I tried the Hoss recently however and wasn t a fan. It was a bit too messy and not greasy but too greasy? Idk how to explain it but I think I ll stick to the more regular burgers from them. Also I ve had a few issues with them the past few times I ve ordered with getting the wrong potatoes (ie. Fries v. sweet potato fries v. tots) when I notice they re very good about correcting it but I have had to be more mindful about checking when I pick up an order to go now.

I enjoy their Mac and cheese as long as you add jalapeños (it s nice that there is the option for fresh or grilled (IMO the grilled compliments the noodles better)). I do wish the noodles were a little less mushy and had some ridges or texture so they held the cheese better. The staff is very kind every time I ve been. I also haven t had any problems with unreasonable wait times even when they were very busy.

So disappointed! Two nights in a row (one was a Saturday night) we walked up to get our Arlo s fix and they decided to close. People in the yard eating and window open with someone working inside, but nope, we re closed We checked google for closing time before heading over there and we arrived well before the listed close time both nights. Saturday night we rolled up at 1:40AM and online said open til 2AM. Sunday night we were there at 10:45 and online said they d be open til 1AM. The girl working Saturday night said they stop taking orders at 1:30 and close at 2. So what are you doing for half hour when you re open . What gives?!?!

Got the bacon burger, large Mac, and sweet potato fries. Burger 5/5 - It was a SOLID burger, would have preferred more pickles but really no complaints. Mac 4/5 - it is definitely a nooch based Mac which isnt my favorite but something they did with the oils and other seasonings that made the nutritional yeast taste bearable and the rest of it amazing. My friend hates nooch but loved the mac. Sweet Fries 4/5 - they are more soft to crispy which is my preference, lightly seasoned, great portion size. Would have preferred more seasonings but otherwise a solid fry. Overall, pricing was good, portions were good, we were very satisfied with the order!

Arlos is an absolute MUST for vegans, vegetarians, or anyone who has ever enjoyed a veggie burger. My meat-eating friend and I were so impressed on our first visit we hung out and ordered the same thing twice. For plant-based comfort food lovers visiting Austin (if tourism ever exists again), plan to go here at least twice. The bacon cheezeburger is the best veggie burger Ive ever had, hands down. It is flavorful, has great texture, and is both calorically and intellectually fulfilling. After ordering this ultimate comfort food a dozen times, Ive finally tried their other menu items and sides: They are all fantastic and its impossible to go wrong. Their chipotle sauce is dank. Great service, great prices, great hours, and the best vegan comfort food Ive ever had / what Ill miss most when I leave Austin.

Food is incredible as always, but even better was the woman working tonight at the cheer ups location. Someone before us didnt pick up their order, so she gave it to us asking for us to please give it to a homeless person. So genuinely kind. Made our night! A very happy and grateful person has a full belly tonight because of her! Best vegan burgers around!

I stopped by on a cold night for macn cheeze and a bacn cheezeburger. I enjoyed the macn cheeze more than the burger. The macn cheeze has a hint of Caribbean flavor. The burger has a good bun and dressing. The bacon and the cheeze was also good. I find that the patty to be less dense than what I like. But it was overall a good burger and Ill have it again if I was in the area.

Gotta get that veggie Mac & Cheese on a Veggie burger. Solid burger with the Mac & Cheese and the fries were so good. The fries felt like McDonalds with a bit of spice

Im a vegan who has lived the spoiled and blessed live of one who eats vegan and has lived in either Portland or Seattle for over a decade. Picky verging on hard to impress when it comes to vegan comfort food. Austin frequently delivers. Every single time Im in Austin (about 3 times a year), rain or shine, I am at Arlos. I have dragged even the pickiest ew vegan food is gross eaters there and watched them demolish that bacon cheeseburger. Once I showed up with an almost complete (but now expired :() punch card and they honored it when they learned I lived West Coast and had still managed to rack up 9 punches. Its a short walk from the Austin Convention Center, as well, which is handy for travelers for expos. I love Arlos. Staff is exactly the kind of friendly I like, theyre fast, theyve never missed an order yet. Ill be there in July.

The Bacon cheeseburger was great but the mac n cheese was the best I have ever had in my life. Tables were clean food was quick and they even had toilets (nice bonus for a food truck) absolutely will be coming back

Arlo s has the best (and really only) vegan burgers i ve ever had! They re big enough to satisfy people that are hungry, and have a great amount of flavor and texture from the toppings they put on. I ll definitely be back when I return to Austin! Another suggestion - the Mac costs the same as a burger topping and as a side ($2), you d probably get more to satisfy your gluttony by ordering the side and throwing it on top of your burger.

Honestly, I eat here as a matter of convenience as opposed to eating a vegan meal. The soy burger and tots are probably the thing to order here. The Frito pie, which has a chipotle sauce, is more than a meal for $6.

This is certainly somewhere Id recommend but perhaps more for the atmosphere than for the flavors. Not a bad spot near the capital to fill up your vegan stomachs. Service was fast and the prices were more reasonable than expected. Adding Mac & cheeze to the burger seems like a good idea, but I certainly wish there was significantly more cheeze. The atmosphere was cute, a great option if youre in the neighborhood. Ordered the bacon cheeze burger with the Mac on top all the flavors went together great and there was a pretty decent crunch from the bacon, but the flavor of the cheeze was very lacking. Still tasted great though. Id probably avoid adding Mac though, the flavor just isnt strong enough to compete with the burger. $22 to feed two people downtown is more than reasonable. Service was very nice and friendly! Atmosphere was really charming however! A nice location, quiet and quaint with some little birds who were all to happy to steal some crumbs. I would certainly recommend someone try out this location.

Not bad for being a vegetarian in Austin. In 5 years this was the first time I have been. I loved it. Mac&cheese as an accompaniment, delicious. And the place, of course, a garden with seats and a caravan as a kitchen.

Burger was nice, fries were great, service was ok. They mixed up my order a bit but not so bad. What made it a bit off for me was that they refused to give some old guy and his wife some water... I mean really? Free cups of water on a hot day is basic.... I hope they will reconsider this policy

Today was the second time that we ve visited the establishment but the 1st time at this specific location and I will NEVER go back. BRET thought that it was ok to give me the most burnt sweet potato fries ever and hide the in the bottom of my bag. When I called to speak to a manager he rudely told me that I have to email them about my complaint. Never offered to fix anything or refund my money. Never going back.
