Dog-friendliness: Yes, but be prepared their dogs will run up to you . Meanwhile not knowing if it will attack you or your dog. Maybe there needs to be signs REMINDING PEOPLE TO KEEEEEEP dogs on their leash through out the park!

Excellent for pretending you live in a serene country side instead of a concrete jungle hellscape. Take a walk through the shaded trails and hear the beautiful chirps of various birds. Dont forget to check out the crystal mound near the entrance where you can find some pretty neat talc crystals. But wait, because you have seen the real reason to check out crystal canyon. If youre brave enough to go off the beaten path, then you will soon find off shoots on the main trail that lead to SECRET PATHS. Boots are recommended as you will be traveling over streams, scaling steep hills, and traversing a mini marsh. With enough determination, you might even find the fabeled TIRE MOUNTAIN (MOUNTAIN-MOuntain-mounta) Be on the look out, theres plenty of larger crystals to be found along the way.

What is the city doing to protect the goats thrown in the park? These little guys do not stand a chance without protection. They are defenseless. There are coyotes in the woods that will take the entire herd out. The city ringing the dinner bell? Or just don t care? I get using goats to eat the overgrown brush. They have no way to defend themselves from the coyotes. There was already an aggressive animal caught at another park off Lincoln. The public should know what the city is doing to protect the safety of these defenseless little animals. I am sure the news would also like to know and inform the public!

It was a great mini hike for my 6 year old. We went off the main trail and into the smaller trails. A beautiful view once you climb a certain hill. I am just so disappointed in the trash that is left. There was also a homeless encampment we came across, which would not have been too terrible if not for the disaster of litter. The parking is also very limited. Toilets: No restrooms Dog-friendliness: They have bags for clean-up.....people need to use them.

I had an unfortunate experience at Crystal Canyon in Arlington, TX. It felt like a complete waste of time. The place was littered with dogs poop everywhere, making the environment far from pleasant. What made matters worse was that there seemed to be no one else around to share the experience with, which made it feel eerie and isolated. To top it off, I found that the lack of proper guidance or information about the area made the visit even more frustrating. Overall, it was a disappointing outing, and I wouldnt recommend it.

BEST CRYSTAL HUNT IVE EVER HAD! Thank you to other reviewers who left tips! Definitely go right first to the big hill and use the sun to help you find the glittering pieces. They ll look like metallic broken glass but when you look close you can see the crystal matrix. Once I read the tips it s like the whole hill started glittering. I had best luck with my back to the sun while walking down from the top of the hill. So cool!

The trail is nice and they have several signs to help explain the fauna, animals, even architectural choices for the trail. The only downside is how much trash youll see deeper into the trail. When I had went someone had recently dumped a lot of trash into the river, making it a strange white and foamy consistency? Dont recommend staying past dusk or before dawn, definitely has Bobcats and Coyotes out there. Dog-friendliness: They provided dog bags for cleanup at the beginning of the trail, so bringing dogs is definitely allowed if not encouraged.

Unfortunately when we returned to our car in the small parking lot at the trailhead, someone had smashed in the rear window and stole several items. There was nothing worth the hassle they caused. Loved being able to rockhound in the DFW metroplex area! Nice wooded walking trail, plus selenite crystals found on the hill to the right, just as you enter the trail. Position yourself to catch glints of sunlight off of the glassy surface of the mineral, and you will find plenty. Heart shaped rock was a bonus. I find them everywhere!
