Wow this place is amazing. Signed up to be able to come back multiple times and bring my wife. You want to know any history about the Alvin area and these guys are good. I must have spent two hours just listening to stories and could have spent several days. Really amazing what all theyve done to pack so much into such a smaller space. Really talented and impressive people. I plan to get to know them. Update: it has been such a great opportunity to volunteer here. I love learning about the area and all the great things that have happened. Encourage anyone that has even a couple hours each month to come and help or even just come see the exhibits! We are starting some new temporary exhibits that will be awesome! Update: sure enjoy visiting here. Learn something every time Update: have a really cool model train setup with lots of displays on various model trains. Rusty the gentleman who owns the large model train display comes Tuesday Friday and Saturday to run the train with his grandson. Have some interesting details and very worth trying to come and see. Should be there till just after the first of the year. They also have a very large Nativity tree with lots of nativity sets very neat to look at Update March 24th 2024. Today is the open house for the Lego history exhibit. We have Tim Hutchings here as one of the Lego Masters on season 4 as well as many many other Lego enthusiasts who have built tremendous amounts of displays that have taken hours upon hours. Really worth it to bring the children and family. For individuals who have family history in the Brazoria County area and have items from grandparents or other relatives that youre not sure what to do with, consider donating them to the museum to secure them as part of the history of our County. Update: had significant damage due to the hurricane. The roof leaked very bad but we were able to save most everything inside the museum and the city assistance was spectacular as they helped us to clean up the damage in the water. We are trying to get things set up so that we can reopen.

Great small town museum. They work hard to get good exhibits set up. Local history and the famous Nolan Ryan room. Great volunteers and staff. Nice little stop in downtown.

Cute little museum in an old post office building. It small enough that the kids dont get overwhelmed, but big enough to keep them wanting to see whats around the corner. Mrs. Alice welcomes you with a smile and is very helpful and informative about the history of the museum and its contents. It was our first time there yesterday. We went for the Lego exhibit,( which was small but impressive) but the kids enjoyed the scavenger hunt and the artifacts more. A nice walk into the past. $5 for 12 and up. Very reasonable price.

The museum was very nice, clean & had informative staff (Cindy) who was helpful to a stranger to the city! I will go back as my time was limited, I had tix for the Astros-red Sox game later in the day. Highly recommended for some Alvin city knowledge but better yet, a Nolan Ryan fan!

For a small town this place was impressive. I was not expecting much but to my surprise there are a lot artifacts and exhibits. The building itself is historical. All the history I wanted to know and more, cool little theater with an old movie filmed in the late 40s or early 50s right there in Alvin. The lady working there was very nice and gave us a short tour. You can tell they take pride in their towns history and have put a lot of work into finding items for their displays.
