I am visiting TX, and I regret that I wasted one of my dining experiences in TX on this place. I did an online order - 1 tilapia meal with rice and veggies, 1 catfish meal with shrimp and hush puppies and onion rings. The place had people there (which was promising), and my order was ready when I got there. The verdict: Shrimp - butterflied, so it was thin - and rubbery. Couldnt really even taste the shrimp, it was more the texture of overcooked chicken. No salt in the batter. Very bland Catfish - very thinly cut, fish and batter both unseasoned Onion rings - just yuck. Also unsalted. Ive had better onion rings at Burger King Hush puppies - DRY and tasted like old oil Tilapia - seasoned slightly better but still needed salt Rice-underwheming I choked down 1 piece of fish, half a hush puppy, and the shrimp. I was left so...unfulfilled. I wish I could take back the calories because they just werent worth it. To add insult to injury, each meal was $15,99 plus tax and convenience fee...plus the gas to go get it.

They have mastered a stirred Gin Martini, slightly dirty. Clam chowder is awesome. I had the grilled cod. Great fresh fish. They also have a combo platter of shrimp and crab, potatoes and corn. Mild, medium or hot spiced. Hot is really not hot at all. Really good place for your seafood fix. A nice variety of dishes. I liked the Wylie, Casa Linda, Rowlett locations. The Garland location is close to my office, but ever since Alex moved to Rowlett the warmth and friendliness is not the same.

An apparent favorite of Latinos, the establishment does present some good dishes. The blackened cod with rice and vegetables is good as is the salmon. However, being accustomed to fresh caught catfish, I did not care for their farm raised version. Service was fairly quick, although I havent been there when the house was full. The ceiling is raised so could get loud. While ordering I did ask if they ever had Trout, to which the man indicated he didnt even know what that was. So somewhat limited on selection of fish, with a bent towards Louisiana Creole. If the area had a Fish City Grill, Bone Fish, or Rock Fish, those could give some trouble.

One of my friends recommended this place and we decided to try it on Fathers Day. We order to go. We got a variety of foods to try. Sad to say, we were disappointed in the quality of the food. We first tried the fries pickles. It was fried in old oil and did not taste fresh. The hush puppies were not seasoned at all. I got the shrimp poboy. The shrimp did not taste like shrimp. It had a consistency of chicken. It also did not smell like shrimp. My husband got the cod and coleslaw. His order just had the the cod , side, and no slaw. The cod was also not seasoned. My son go the chicken strip basket. It too was not fresh and tasted like it sat out for a while. Finally, the shrimp and sausage gumbo was very underwhelming. Needless to say, we regretted trying this place.

Nothing but good experiences here! When my daughter is home from school, this is one of her favorite places! We picked up gumbo tonight but have dined in many times at the bar and at a table and had excellent service every time. If you don t like seafood, there are still options for you. The fried rice is delicious, the crab legs are as good if not better than the more expensive crab stores, the drinks are strong, and the bartender will cater to your requests. Would recommend for food and service any day! Parking: There s plenty of free parking - if it fills up out front, there s more parking in the back. Kid-friendliness: Very kid friendly at any hour!

If you need some fish - drop your line into this place. They are always busy, which is a good thing for a seafood place. :) The food so far has been great. The special grilled slalom with the pineapple cream sauce (one of their specials) is excellent and everything weve tried on their menu has more than met our expectations. The restaurant is kept clean and its largely self service, they bring the food to you but you get your own drinks. This place if very loud, and always crowded. Weve never had a problem finding a place to sit, though there are usually few choices. Large groups might be tricky. I highly recommend this place for the food.

I go to get a 13.50 sandwich. My credit charge is over 17.00 I ask the cashier about the charge and she walks away and gets another person. This person says they made a mistake. I had a issue with extra charges on my credit card and JJ handled it great. I couldnt have asked for a better outcome. JJ was concerned that it was charged by accident and was extremely apologetic. Update - gave this place a 5 star in the past but service and food has gone down. Lady who claims to be GM needs her title taken away. Shes HORRIBLE. 2024 Crawfish Season. Crawfish last night at:Fish and Tails off of 78 *PRO Staff was great Drinks were good. Crawfish is clean and good size. *CON Flavor was bland. All on the outside and covered with some type of oily mess. It was like they boiled in plain water then dumped it in a bowl of oil and herbs and hoped it would taste good. Waste of $12 bucks per pound. The service was great. Other items are great. But if youre really into crawfish, Id suggest not getting it here.

OMG! So I just moved here and this is the 1st place I tried out based off of the reviews and they did not disappoint! I ordered the Ceviche and the grilled shrimp and scallops based off of their recommendation. It was delicious! Seasoned perfectly! Fresh chips came with the Ceviche as well. I m not a food critic, per se, and often find that reviewers many times seem to be after an opportunity to vent, etc. But when a place does well, I try to give public kudos, and lemme tell ya, this Fish N Tails does wings somethin proper. Everybody has their druthers, of course, but ordering their buffalo wings extra crispy, I can tell you this seafood spot will be my goto spot when I want fried wings. Most places either really don t get em extra crispy, or they simply have poor quality wings. Texture on these is nearing perfect, even post sauce. The only suggestions I would make for enhancement (notice, I said enhancement not improvement) are: 1. Have a hotter version of the same delicious sauce 2. Have a 15 wing basket (10 is a smidge too few for me) I ll be back, LORD willing. Thank y all for your labors and delicious wings.

I went to this restaurant with my wife few months ago and it was phenomenal, we keep coming back pretty often. We live in Plano so we drive about 20 minutes just to go to this place but its always worth it, theres one Fish N Tails Oyster Bar like 3 minutes from where I live but ironically we dont like it. We love the food, very delicious. What I didnt like this last time was the service of a girl. I asked her her name. She didnt want to give it. I could only describe that she is robust. She was very rude. She doesnt have any friendliness. They shouldnt have that type of employees. I had the pineapple salmon.. grilled to perfection. 5 .. generous portions, left full and happy. Dining room very clean.. just noisy.. not a good place for a business lunch. Will most definitely be returning in the future.

Love their Cajun broiled shrimp, Unfortunately, this weekend when we went back we noticed a big 18% which came out to an extra $15.00. I believe they should inform us customers before we place our orders of this new surcharge. I will not be coming back unless i order to go and hopefully there is no extra charge for that too.

The atmosphere is great but the inside seating is an open room so you can see everyone there. If you want privacy it s not really here. I had the boiled shrimp and crab legs and it was great! The sauce is spicy so be careful! You can choose how spicy. We also ordered the shrimp nachos. They were good but it was missing something like black beans or maybe guacamole or sour cream because the stuff to put on it seemed rather dry. The pina colada was very good. I m picky too so there s that. The food and everything else was great quality! I would definitely recommend. I just need to try the rest of the items on the menu!

Really nice place with a lot of options if you like seafood. I wanted fried catfish so I got the three piece catfish basket and it came with fries. The food came out very quickly and it was delicious. I will definitely be back!

Music too loud, had to repeat order 3 times because cashier couldnt hear. Person bringing food to table brought wrong order to our table twice. Shrimp was overcooked and tough, onion rings were good. Garland location is better.

This was a total and pleasant surprise! On the way home, perfect weather, and saw a patio filled with smiles and decided to stop! Lively atmosphere and staff made great recommendations and all with a smile. We didnt wait before our hot and delicious meal was served. Everything was cooked to perfection. Food and drinks were awesome! This was a great date night for us, and we will be back... Often!!! Vegetarian options: Cooked the way you like them!
